    Now if only GM would up the Warranty limits on these trucks, I mean for nearly 90k you could at least expect a 5 or 6 year bumper to bumper.

      Exactly right ! They need and every manufacturer needs to do at least 100k mile warranty ! That’s not to much to ask for at 90 k dollars

    Not a Chevy fan but have to admit that's a sharp looking truck, & with them keeping a power train that's proven itself for many years is a big plus. Good job on the review & good job to Chevrolet.

    Muccchhh better looking, inside and out. Looks even better without all of the chrome. Sure, it doesn't haven't the staggering torque of the Ram(1075) and Ford(1050/1200), but it isn't necessarily lacking either. I like that GM is finally listening to their customers and addressing the things that matter.

    I wish GM would put the column shifter in the 1500 as well. It makes sense to free up space on the center console for additional storage. Great review, gents!

      They do. My '22 1500 duramax LT has the column shifter. In fact, other than the wood trim on this spec the interior is nearly identical.

      @@donhappel9566 Oh, interesting. I test drove a High Country trim a few weeks ago and it had the center console shifter, not the column shifter. I guess it's only available in certain trims.

      Column shifter comes on half tons with the flip up console. Full center console gets the center shifter

      ​@@AndrewJDixon we have had lifters and trans issues come through the shop pretty regularly. Not sure what they meant when they said the "high end levels" get this interior... We have had plenty of LTs with this interior.

    Would like to see how the new Chevrolet HD with 6.6 gas with 10 speed performs on Ike now… wondering if the 10 speed is a big improvement.

      I too would like to see how the 10 speed transmission does on the Ike but that will not happen until GM puts a 10speed transmission in the 6.6 gasser. The HD gasser only comes with the 6 speed transmission.

      @@ilocan74 You are right about that as long as your looking for a 2024 model. I knew at one time you could only get a 6-speed transmission with the 6.6 gasser and only 3.73 rear gearing. I stand corrected and thanks for the information.

      That's not what TFL is about. They are journalists (they actually really are) that have connections to the manufacturers. Personally, I don't care about old trucks. There are TONS of videos on them if you really want to research them.

    Excellent updates all around. Love the new look. I'm enjoying my custom ordered 2023 1500 6.2L LTZ with maxed out towing of 13,200 I received last Friday. Suspension is great, exterior looks tough and premium, and the updated screens are sick. Chevy/GM has been on fire with the updates.

      @@FirstGendodgegarage that's cute. And that's also sad that your truck is your identity for manhood 😂.
      Trust me, I love the idea of a 3/4 but I have absolutely no need for it. I can tow my 32ft 7500lbs travel trailer no problem and even upgrade for bigger/heavier in the coming and still tow it with this set up. This is a beast for a 1/2. I'll spend the money I save elsewhere.

      @@pete1735 You can get the 5.3, 6.2, or the 3.0 Duramax. I just got a Denali Ultimate and that was only available with the 6.2 or the Duramax and I got the Duramax. All that was available only truck in the area so not like I had a pick between the 2 lol. I found some with the 6.2 after but they were all 2-4 hours away.

    Great video. The 2500 High Country looks great, but you will definitely need a step stool to do anything under the hood if you aren't 6 feet tall. The horsepower and torque numbers are keeping pace with the competition but instead of 475 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque, why not just push for 500 & 1000. Can't wait to see this beast tow; hopefully as a "Super Ike"! Also, I think viewers would be very interested in seeing the 6.6-liter gasser reviewed. Kudos to TFL Trucks for getting their hands on a 2024 model so early!

      How much sales are they losing because of those numbers? Maybe they make more net profit by not investing to get those numbers.

      And numbers don’t always tell the true tale. Even though the others are slightly higher, how much is actually “usable”. At what RPM too? I agree, are you going to know the difference between 975 and 1000?

    This reminded me of my 2017 1 ton van with the rear view camera mounted in the rear view mirror, thought I wouldn't like it until I used it, it was great, especially backing into loading docks and building overhead doors with the sun in your face.

      Wrong. Merc builds most vehicles for US market in Alabama, some in Mexico. Only the high end AMG models come from Europe.

      I think the peak for GM seats was the 00-06 trucks. My 06 LTZ had seats like a la-z-boy recliner. That truck was like driving a couch down the street and it was a fantastic truck to take on a road trip.
      My 2014 seats were horrible and would make my legs go numb when on a long ride. Its one of the many reasons i got rid if it and bought a RAM.

      It truly is remarkable that GM continues to make them more and more firm…requiring “break in time” if they ever get better. My 2022 was nearly traded in within a few thousand miles because it was literally painful to drive. It did finally break in and is comfortable (not like my ‘16 or ‘05 but at least ok). I just don’t understand of all things that’s where they fall short..

    Andre, just wanted to correct you on your statement for the interior. Anything thats an LT and above gets the new dash, with digital gauges and big screen, only the Work truck and Custom get the older style interior (same with the 1500s)

    Great vid! Would really have been nice if you were able to show the door stickers as you literally always do when reviewing a new truck. Perhaps you're not able to due to disclosure issues given it's so new? In any case that would answer the towing/payload and weight questions. Cheers!

    My two concerns with the engine block eater plug in the bumper. One, you need a special cord. Don't lose it. Two, when it's cold and snowy that little cover will be frozen shut with ice and snow. The grill area is warmer.
    Regardless, I'll probably buy a new one in 2025.

    Fairbanks resident here! Too bad we usually don’t use that outlet because we have an oil pan heater, transmission pan heater, battery heaters, along with the block heater plugged into the same junction. I drilled out a bigger hole on my 2020 2500 and installed a NOCO GCP1 15A AC Port Plug to plug into the junction box…so still a clean hook up for all the heaters we use up here. Hopefully GM fixed all the DEF issues with the 24s.
    And the LT model I built online comes with the big displays. The work truck versions still has the old radio display.

    I have a 23 3500 SRW. It's been a good truck so far. I've towed for 4,000 miles with 13K, it does well. I wish the fuel tank was bigger than 36 gal. Ford has a great idea with the 48 gallon in the longbeds.

      I'm picking up a 62 gallon S&B fuel tank for my 2500hd after this work season. Look into it, definitely worth the upgrade.

    You can get the updated interior in the LT as well. Not just the LTZ and HC. Just the LTZ and HC come with the updated exterior. LT comes with the previous exterior with some minor changes.

    In reference to the stiff seats. I just bought a 2023 GMC. The seats were quite stiff but after 1k miles they’re breaking in nicely and have softened up quite a bit. Same for the suspension.

      I had a 2020 Denali 2500 with the Duramax. The seats were horrible, I sold it with about 12,000 miles on it. Im 225.they never broke in. I hope these are better.

      My 2022 half ton AT4 seats were stiff for about 6 months. Then they break in and are great.

      My wife's 23 Tahoe high country has higher quality leather and softer seats than my 22 ZR2 that is equipped same as high country. I think work trucks and sport trucks are made firmer on purpose.

      I have a 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali and I have no complaints about the seats. I find them super comfortable. I’m not a huge guy though so that may make a difference

    Put that rig in tow/haul mode and run it in manual. My 22 ZR2 1500 with the 6.2L launches hard in tow haul and runs through the 10 speed very smoothly. I'm rolling 525HP in my Duramax and I'd say it's similar given weight differential.

    I have the 24 LTZ and just didn’t see the need to pay the extra for the high country. Only thing I’m missing is the automatic running boards and 20” rims, and I wanted the 18” rims. Saved me about 10k! Would definitely opt for LTZ if you want basically the same truck.

    I love my ram 1500 limited but after buying a new boat that exceeds the capacity of any half ton truck I will be moving up to a 3/4 ton. the 2024 refresh for gm hd is very appealing to me, the looks inside and out as well as power numbers are impressive all at a much lower price than a ram with the Cummins or a ford power stroke. I believe I’ll be making a switch.

    The front end styling doesn't make me want to hurl anymore, so that's a decent improvement over the previous generation. I can't image what GM's designers and ergonomic people were thinking putting the SAME SIZE KNOB for the lights and 4WD controls right next to each other. Nice of GM to pilfer yet another Ford idea with the fold-away grab handle in the bed. Overall, I think the Ford and Ram are a bit more appealing.

      @@waterloo123100 all the reports I’ve heard say the the Allison 10 speed in the HD trucks has been very reliable. Given that they will be mounting the same trans to an engine that makes around half the peak torque I’d expect the thing to be utterly bulletproof.

      Internet rumor. Just like the oil consumption crap. My brother has had 2 Duramax with the Allison 10 speeds. Over 150,000 miles on each and 0 issues.

    Pontiac Aztec of trucks, if I'm getting a GM HD the AT4 with 6.6 gas 10 speed in thunderstorm gray would be the pick. For now I'm more pleased with my baby max

    Some of the Chevy HDs are made in Canada, GMC HDs are still made in Flint Michigan along with the remaining Chevys.

    GM has had the best engine and transmission since the Duramax came out, now the interior is the best as well... looks like a great ride, too bad it comes with a 30 year mortgage lol

      Only on the heavy duty and inline 6 duramax in the 1500
      The 5.3 and 6.2 are problematic with lifter issue , bent pushrods and other issues , I wouldn’t call it the best

    For reference...ordered a 2023 SRW F350 platinum, tremor, 6.7H.O., $102,250 MSRP. X Plan brings it to $95550. Ordered October 27th....if I get it by fall, I will be impressed.

    Yes! FAI Average winter Temps -25°, when they rise to "0", they will literally break out the shorts😂!

      @TaigaTurf I flew in & out of FAI regularly. I was also born in "OTZ", otherwise known as Kotzebue. 180 miles North of the Arctic Circle. & unlike the ⬜️ folks in Colorado who Claim to be Native. I actually am Native, Inupiaq Eskimo.
      So yeah, FAI's average in the Winter months is 25 below Zero. & like where "I" was born, CAN EASILY get to 100 Below Zero. One of my last flights into FAI. We were grounded(flew with AS)for 4 days. Why? Because fairbanks was hovering between at the Warmest 91 Below Zero to its coldest of 97 Below Zero. With crystallized ice fog, when it hit your face. Feels like a million needles hitting it.
      Anyway, not a noob to Alaska.

    Really wish you guys would put a well optioned HD with the L8T 6.6 gas powerplant to the test and reviews. I think a lot of us are thinking the gap has closed with the Duramax and are not sure if the price premium for the Duramax is worth it any longer.

      I tow a 13,000 lb 5th wheel with a F250 6.2l and it works just fine, and saved $10,000 over the diesel to put toward the trailer and gas and the kids’ college savings accounts.

      Got to watch the gas trucks, the way GM works the GVWR, the derated ones won’t pull a midsize fifth wheel. It will pull it, but the derated GVWR makes you over weight.
      Just bought this very truck, today, traded a gas 2022 derated to 10k GVWR, with my midsize fifth wheel I was 80 lbs from being overweight with half of my stuff loaded. Also, didn’t pull very well.

    I had to come back to this video to leave this comment. You mentioned that Ford's doing there drl with the seed to the outside of the car and Chevy and GM are doing the sea towards the grill, but GMCs are still doing it like the Ford probably to distinguish themselves from the Chevys!
    Keep up the good work. Still rocking my 2015 GMC Yukon with 175,000 miles on it. I'm always amazed when I take out one of our 2022 crew cab Chevy 3500 6.6l gas engine that I can get better gas mileage than I can in my truck 😂.

    So they made the Silverado look more like the Sierra. Good thing, the Sierra is a gorgeous truck. The lights and block heaters have been around for a while, they are very useful. The multi flex tailgate is awesome and extremely useful, A lot of people are curious about the 6.6 gas with the 10 speed, me too. Please test it as soon as you can.

      @@SuperCJification How would a person damage it unless they screw up? (and that's on them) I have been driving for well over 40 years and have never damaged the front of any vehicle I've owned. My current 2006 3500 front end remains undamaged to this day. My "lower cheap plastic portion" is original and unbroken. Just say'in.

    Nice looking truck but I'd never consider spending that much for one of these. Pricing has gotten beyond insane. A 1500 now costs more than I paid for my 2015 GMC 2500HD . . . Not to mention the fact diesel is still hovering around $5.00/gallon here.

    Now if only they added a heater for the fuel system and DEF system so they don't freeze in winter. That bricked by 2022 3500 AT4 Duramax when I really needed it on a cold Vermont day (I suspect those Fairbanks folks would have that issue too!!). Since I did not need the towing capacity anymore, I traded it for a gas truck. The GMC also had a major module issue that went bad and I had no ABS, AWD/4WD, traction control, cruise control, etc! Loved that truck but hated it too... sometimes I miss it then it gets cold and I can start my gas truck and don't miss it anymore! ;)

      never an issue in fairbanks, but i made sure to park OUTSIDE. that way the DEF system shuts down, and stays off. until teh heater melts teh tank which it cant do at -40

    Tune your diesel trucks. Doesnt matter if you’re young or old and you’re wanting huge power or a casual driver, Working truck or daily driver. I habe. 2023 high country. I have it tuned, i use it for work and casual driving all over the place. 5 different power levels and it makes driving my fun more fun and truthfully if i drive casually i get way better fuel milage than stock. Waiting on trans tune to show up now. Should make it shift a lot less lazy!

    Really enjoy your videos, I have a question a little off this HD truck. Why don't they make a Suburban in a 2500/ 6.6 diesel? I mean there are a ton of families that have 3-5 kids ,dogs ect.. I bought a 22' suburban with the 3.0, I had to trade in my 20' silverado 2500 for the extra room. The 3.0 pulls my boats fine but loaded down it will not pull a large camper or toy hauler. For many a suburban HD with the big Duramax would be the ultimate vehicle. Do you think they will ever release one?

      Would love that question to be asked of GM. We are in the market for a 3/4 later this year for towing an RV. If we are going to be spending doing hours driving seat comfort is a critical parameter and could be a deal killer on a truck I'd otherwise consider. Why make the seats so firm?

      They are firm when new but break in nice. Plus a really soft seat stretches the stitching and comes apart.

      My wife and I are looking seriously at a 2024 Sierra 3500 Duramax. Its primary use would be to tow our RV. Thus, much of our driving will be 4 - 6 hour trips. Having uncomfortable seats would be a big negative. Our GMC dealer has not received any 2024 HD trucks yet, so we've not had a chance to sit in the seats and take it for a drive.

    Wow, 88,000 for a 3/4 ton high country. My wife and I have a 19 one ton dually diesel cclb 4wd ltz and that was 73,000. These prices are getting to be a bit much. We're a chevy family that love our trucks but the prices are really high. Glad we got ours when we did. You guys did a great job on this beautiful truck. Thanks for sharing.

      $73,000 from 2019 is now worth $85,901 due to inflation. You can get a loaded LTZ for that price, and it will have more features than your 2019. The car market isn't as inflated as people think it is. The whole economy is.

    I’ve bought 6 hd trucks in the last 20 years and due a new one right now. At 90k I will never own another. That’s twice what I paid for the 16 model I currently have. The workmanship is not any better nor the reliability. I’ll just keep on trucking with what I have and invest my 100k in something that gains in value.

    Wrong about the upgraded interior…the LT trim level is also upgraded, which is probably the most common trim level sold for Chevrolet.

    I haven’t read all the comments but has anyone mentioned that he was incorrect when he said only LTZ and High Country get the new interior? The LT also gets the new interior. I feel like that’s a very important thing to note, considering no competitor offers those kind of “higher-trim” features in their lower trim trucks. The fact that someone, who doesn’t care much for flashy veneers, can still get those screens in an LT is a hugely smart move on Chevy’s part.

      We have a 6.6 gas with the 6 speed transmission and a Ford 7.3. Both tow mini excavators (about 15k lbs.) Both are pretty comfortable towing the weight. The Ford has more power, the gm gets better mpg. Gm gets about 18mpg unloaded, Ford gets 13 unloaded. Loaded gm is about 10mpg, Ford is 8mpg.
