Lol, so TCL heard our complaints about having the stand so close to the edge and responded by putting it on the actual edge of the TV :)
lol
When is the review coming?!?!
Can't wait to get one!!
Did he the change the tittle ? It was something like “tcl somethings not right “
Your video was really helpful, thanks
Are you still gonna do a review on this TV and compare it to regular TCL 6 series?
Thx for demonstrating how to install the legs for desktop setup.
Thanks for the instructions
Hey, I just bought one and I'm having a VERY HARD TIME finding a wall mount for it. PLEASE PLEASE help.
I just got this tv a week ago and I love it! I'm still trying to master the tv on how I like my settings
Hey Can you also check audio sync on HDMI Arc. It's goes out of sync or lags when streaming a video when fast forward ing or rewind ing
Damn that tv looks good. I need this.
I in love whith that guy... And the scrip... Good work
Other places are saying the tv is better this year, I need this review to come out ASAP
Great review. I brought 55 inch 6-series version under $500. Best tv I’ve owned
Bo Jangle i got the same tv and size, but i might go and return it and get the 65 instead
Wow, great to hear. I ordered one online and it is coming in two days. I'm excited as its my first 4K tv
Come on reviews on this and the 8 series..... I can't wait anymore..🤯
Love my tcl 65 inch. Great tvs!!
Is it 65" S421 HDR 4K
I just bought it for $750 and I like it..you can watch all the reviews you want on RUclips and think your an expert like most of the people commenting on here but an average person would love this tv...best tv I've owned yet...better picture quality than any of my other TV's...
I'm glad the bezels are getting so thin. It just flat out looks better.
Hi just got my tv and found when the tv is turned off there is a light that is on am I able to turn it off because it is super bright at night Thanks Simone
I LIKE THE SOAP OPERA EFFECT DARN IT !!!!!
Very Good job
is the only difference from the 615 to the 625 is voice control? i just bought the 615 a 75 inch 65 inch and a 55 inch
Which is the best tv in tcl r625 or r635?
Is that middle bottom light suppose to be on when you shut it off ?
TCL TVs are really getting better an better.. great picture quality assurance .
Your being sarcastic, right?
@@billb0313 *you're, and no, I don't believe they are
Any idea when the TCL 75R625 is coming out? Should it be better then the 75R617? Thank you.
Does anyone know what the exact dimensions of the box is? Thank you.
Enjoy the City of Roses backdrop.
Kindly do a review on the TCL C8 2019 model
4:42 "LED Motion Clarity" is *NOT* the soap opera effect setting. It is the black-frame insertion feature. The setting that controls actual (motion processing) soap-opera effect is the "Action Smoothing" selection just above in the list.
I also have to mention, you spent the majority of the latter half of the video recommending settings changes, which you were making in the default SDR HD mode (while in the main menu without a source selected), but you then stressed *next* getting the Dolby Access app to view Dolby-Vision content "right away". It's worth noting that if you immediately fire up that app's content, none of the settings changes you just made are in effect because the settings are different when the TV detects Dolby source content. You need to go back into settings again. I imagine this is in fact what happened behind the scenes (or perhaps not since you sounded pretty unimpressed about the general PQ moments later at the end) but it's certainly not clear to a novice that might be following along.
@@therealchickentender Fair, correct, well stated and dead on in all respects. Frabkly, I got pretty befuddled toward the end of this shoot because much took place that we didn't show you, and even more was discovered when we decided to bag the review shoot ... For now. Trust me, I am acutely aware of needing to adjust pic settings for each input AND for HDR10 AND DV HDR. And I will fix my oversight next video! Thanks for the comment! Kepp them coming!
@@Caleb_Denison No worries. Cheers. I didn't assume you didn't know these things, just like to see these sets get a fair shake. :) For my part, I returned my set for motion reasons in gaming sessions (another matter), but overall I'd still recommend this one for money. I appreciate the muted way in which it handles its tone mapping, especially in HDR. Leans a bit away from contrast and loud pop and more toward naturalism to my eye. I think the Roku interface is frustrating in some ways, but honestly I miss it when it's not around and for the average non-video-geek I think it's great platform. And in most ways plenty good enough for tinkerers as well. The simplicity has always been refreshing.
@@therealchickentender Thanks again for your level headed and insightful comments. Gotta flag this as an example of how productive comments interactions can go on this channel. Appreciate you!
@@Caleb_Denison Comment sections need a lot more hat-tippin and less finger-flippin, eh. :) Cheers.
Please do the review of tcl r625 and s525 ie compare them side by side so that we can see the differences
Is it compatible with airplay?
My brand new tcl series six required no disassembly too install the legs 🤘🏼
Is the review coming out soon? I'm hoping to buy this one on Black Friday...Thanks!
Need to do a review of those white KEF
When do you expect the TCL 8 series to get into review?
Today, I watched ‘Return of the King’ via this TV, Sony xb700, Vizio 46514f6........f’ing phenomenal!!!!! Better than the theater , in my opinion.
This TV looks good! I have a TCL TV and I enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, but TCL makes some decent tv's. There are 2 in my household. I will be upgrading to a larger screen in the future. I must say that I am still so biased to a LG OLED. The picture quality just entices me. If I change my mind, this TV set is probably my second choice hands down. Peace.
Please review onn 65" qled 4k w dolby atmos
i rebuilt a tcl 55inch 4k oled tvu sed a 4k qled for got for 10 bucks the screen was broke on qled and the oled lights where bad on the one my friend gave me .did not think it would work all you have to do is add the tcon board with the screen
This now has eArc in port 4!!!! Verified it with a TCL rep this morning
Looking for a 55 inch for the bedroom. Would you get a TCL 6 series or a Samsung 7 series. I am worried about TCL quality control.
@joek money That's good that they "could care less". That means they at least care a little bit. Samsung's lower tier series TV are actual trash. Don't get anything below a Q70R or you will be severely disappointed.
I got a tcl 5 series 65" a week ago and I was quite impressed with the picture and it was quite bright . But the screen had bad bonding and dirty screen effect so I returned it and same thing on the other one with 5 dead pixals so I returned it and got a samsung 65" 7 series and I'll be honest the tcl had better picture quality and colors and it was noticeably brighter . but the Samsung has better quality tv feels more premium and no screen bonding what's so ever . When I picked up the tcl something would bang side to side inside and the motherboard was loose
And to answer your question the tcl 6 series is going to look wayyyy better then a Samsung 7 series but the quality is going to suck bad
Please unboxing Devant 65 Quantom
What, did you guys lose the remote??
Are the left and right stand legs switched? Something doesn't look right, like it's bowlegged.
Sometimes people invert the legs to save space on their tv stand.
Just read an article saying that LED's can permanently damage your eyes.
But OLED's are safe to watch.
Maybe some window film applied to the screen will reduce the blinding effect.
Can't wait till TCL remakes an ancient time television.
Nice
Is P6US part of the 6-series?
Can you try to review the LG 8K Nano sell?
Im getting today waiting for the delivery..
Is this TV better than Samsung Q80T or Q90T?
Might have to jump on this one. Although I think I prefer the LG OLED vs the Samsung QLED
So sad we don't have this one in Norway.
Is there any way to turn off those voice listening apps like Alexa, Bixbi and Roku, that comes with these types of TVs and find stuff manually?
Roku requires you to press the voice button.
HE NOT SOLD ON THE 6 BUT HE GIVES IT A GOOD REVIEW FOR PICTURE QUALITY GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE GO MORE EXSENSIVE THIS IS BUEATIFUL MY FRIEND HAS ONE HD NO ISSUES ✊🏾
Plastic Peel game is strong....👍🏽👍🏽
What is a star key
I just bought the TCL 6 series 75". I am noticing a very troubling visual on any gradient color...e.g. the sky, snow etc. where there are very clear rings of color instead of a uniform gradient of color...the rings have uneven edges. Makes looking are some scenes very distracting. Is this normal or do I have a bad box?
Mark Killeen you have the 2018 model he’s reviewed the 2019 model
Ahmmmm where is the 6-series 2019 review?..... The 8 series review was posted, plus comparisons made.... Is this review gonna happen at all or must we look elsewhere? 🙄
looking forward to your review against the p series quantum. also kind of bummed out tcl did not release a 75 inch version of this tv, looks like p series quantum wins for anyone looking for a 75 inch qled in this price range.
What did he mean by soap opera effect?
I remember those overhead projectors....
When you said unboxing, I was hoping to see you actually unbox it. I was looking for pointers how to remove it from the box.
So is this a good tv? I mean for the price
Damm getting this on Black friday lol
So, you're going to play the panel lottery with TCL huh? I had a TCL (6 series) and returned it within 24 hours. The DSE and vertical banding was horrendous.
Spend the Xtra $100 and get a Samsung. Trust me. Do your research. TCL has some of the worst quality control on the market.
@@billb0313 My 75" samsung TV lasted only 3 years before breaking. Repairing it according to the brand was more expensive than a newer new tv. I do not recommend buying any samsung tv.
@@billb0313 cool story 👍
FYI, open the Roku app on your phone. When your source is selected go to Expert picture settings. Disable Noise reduction. This setting is only available on the Roku app. You cant do this from the TV settings.
I put mine on low for streaming. I think it cleaned up the picture. Using a bluray ripped to plex vs bluray played on player. There was unwanted noise in the picture on mine. Very slight.
I just found out that you need to disable noise reduction on every picture setting. If you changed it to vivid, normal , sport , hdr, etc. all have there own noise reduction that sticks with them. That’s pretty annoying.
Defiantly fixes motion.
Where is the follow up video?
Wish we could get Roku here in Australia. The TCL’s here use android.
So I was all sold on the new 6series. I was just deciding between the 55" and 65" and kept thinking, and researching. The 2018 was Cnet's editors choice for best bang for buck tv and highly rated everywhere else so I figured the 2019 would be great now that they added q-led. Then I started asking myself how much better, and how much was that worth to me? At that time(week ago) the 2018(55") were $500ish. Well, tonight Costco answered the question for me when I saw they had the 2018 55" on sale for $399. This was at 7:30 tonight, and they close at 8:30. I called and they said it was the last day of the sale. I ran out of my house like it was on fire! It really was a no brainer for me. At $50-$100 difference I would of just got the new 1, but at $200 off a $600 tv.. uh now you've got my attention. Figure I could of bought 2 of them for the same price as 1 65" 2019 6series($799). Heads up for those of you still looking. Best Buy is running that same deal through the weekend, and Costco on-line is running it through 11/08? I believe
Timewaits4no1 wait till 11/28; $599 @ Costco for 65R613 😉
I mean idk why your not getting it when its just as good as last year yet has better uniformity it could also be you have the big one I mean that always effects image quakity in my opinion but the tv is a great tv for the price deep blacks bright slightly better image processing then last year and just slightly better overall in my opinion but of course each set has slight variances
Just got my TCL 65R625 yesterday and discovered that the cable is no longer included. I'm ready to send it back with a strongly worded letter.
Süper Like atim okey👍🔔
I am also thinking about getting this tv this week. Its on sale at Best Buy for $799. I just want to know if it’s better then the regular 6 series tv cause it’s on sale too for $729
The black levels and screen uniformity (in the set I had) are *far* better. HDR looks great as a result. It technically doesn't get quite as bright, but it *looks* brighter because the black levels are so good. Bloom is controlled a lot better. I would say the motion-handling is a bit worse as far as video gaming, but with "Natural Cinema" mode enabled, 24p movie content looks stellar. Overall for movie watching and regular content it's better. Not $200 better, but certainly $70 better, yes. That was my experience anyhow.
I was between the 2018 and 2019 6 series and ended up going with the 2018. I got a steal at $399($200+ off the 2019) from Costco. Best buy also has the 55" for $399 through the weekend
What the difference between r625 and r615?
They also for some reason gave the Bestbuy R615 an old school infrared remote instead of the newer style that doesn't need line of sight.
Hii Denison brother!
I need one. Still have old Sony CRT tv.
Shakir Bukhari - last year's 55" tcl 6 series is currently $400 at best buy, it's not qled but great price
@@jls198623 That's exactly what I did, except from Costco. Best return policy in the game and because it was under $500(the 2019 will be $599), the extended warranty was only $35 for a 5yr. I was also coming from Sony CRT tv's and at less then $400 it's impossible to beat and a rediculous steal on an outstanding tv
Please stop ignoring the Hisense H9F and do the review please, It's time - Compare it to this TCL r625 so we can truly see which one is the best budget tv for 2019 !!! Thx
H9F is junk dude.
@@scottl8132 are u damn stupid the H9F is so much better then any tcl out there rit now and I've owned both TVs and tested them both rit beside each other
Spiros graves they won't do the reviewe because it will make them look bad compared to everything tv out rit now
@@Rclinage2348 I agree 100%
I hear the H9F is very special.... Only a few persons are touching it tho.... I wouldnt wanna say bias, but its looking that way
Do you think they will come out with a 75 inch 6-Series?
What inch is this
This is a 65". I doubt there'll be a 75". 65 and 75 are the two available size for the 8-Series which should be available some time in the next month.
maybe, not now.it's on they factory list. tcl 75r625.
Too much to do to get picture mode correctly almost as if the know it's messed up
did you say that back is plastic? nope its glass i was trying to pull it off and it broke like a car windshield i got some in my hand its a bitch to get out
why the R series if there is an EP 640/660/680 series in 2019?
It's funny you say somethings not right I thought the same thing returned it and got last year's model for way less. Honestly last year's model had me like wow this is so beautiful... What did they do this year lol?
Sooooo ... I am keeping quiet until I learn more. But, yeah, something wasn't right. Hang tight! Hit me up for updates if you need.
I tried everything with the unit and just couldn't get it too look right. I even had best buy try tweaking it and the couldn't figure out why it looked so bad. They ended up opening another one for me yesterday and same issue again. I'll be interested to see what Caleb finds out cause this is puzzling us.
This model currently on sale $799 (reg $899)from best buy 11/18/19 anyone know how much it’ll be for Thursday/BlackFriday special? I currently have the TCL 2018 65” 4series got it for $400 and I enjoy it tbh got it from last years BF sale from BB I’m thinking of upgrading to this new qled TCL 6 series someone please talk me out of it 😫
I'd wait for the 8 series to come down in price then, you'd notice a much bigger difference
Jeffrey Wilkins u know what you’re absolutely right! That is the plan now I’m perfectly fine w my tcl 4series 65” atm probably wait till next Black Friday! 👍🏽 happy holidays Jeffrey!
Do I need a Roku account ? I don’t have one and don’t want one, I use AppleTV for streaming apps
Nope, I have this series (75 inch) and don't have a Roku account. I've not been required to get one. I use the usual suspects of Netflix, Hulu, Prime and HBO Go
Hey, Appreciate the video. We didn't see you actually take it out of the box. Would have been nice to know how to properly take this behemoth out of the box.
My gf accidentally knocked over and broke my old Roku 6 series, she replaced it with this new QLED 6 series and.. it’s pretty good all around but, the only thing is the hdr on my x box one x games looked way better on my old 6 series. it makes my games darker on this tv when it kicks into hdr game mode and I have to mess with settings all over again, kind of liked the regular 6 series better
This can't be better than the 7100
If you are not wowed then I'm not wowed.
Where is this review?! This unboxing is 3 weeks old now.
Vs Vizio? No, we want to see it vs the Hisense h9f.
The same shirt? Rsrsrs,cherss😁
Can this be wall mounted? I have a Kanto mount.
Is this close to the 950G? Sony
Anyone else having sound issues with this model?
Are you gonna review this TV or what?
Caleb...TCL 6 Series or Sony X950H? Not a gamer
Ouch. TCL really fucked up here. The new 6 series has a 65" foot print for it's tv, whereas the 2018 model had a 47-38" foot print for their tv feet depending on if you inverted the footing to give it easier placement on smaller tv surfaces.
Eff that tv. I got it after watching a review and the panel had banding. Returned it ASAP
Yuri Tereshyn Straight Piped it back to the store, eh?
Every tv has bad panels. SMH.
Yuri Tereshyn every tcl i have seen has bad banding when playing rd2
@@vastgrid6133 Then you are getting bad panels. I have the R617 and maybe slight banding but nothing noticable. Every tv has some sort of banding. That's just how it is these days.
@TheGrizzzle I have the TCL R617 from last year. First tv was a gem and perfect. Again you will play the panel lottery with all manufacturers. Luck of the draw.
What's the long term reliability on these Chinese brands (Hisense, Hanspree, and TCL) I've heard horror stories about the early models. Dead pixels, permanent vertical lines, bad color temperature, uncontrollable hue.
Sony never failed me.
I have the 2017 p series and it's still great. Although it doesn't have any extra motion settings which it desperately needs eg. Natural Cinema at the very least. it still looks great. I think he's not impressed (yet) because it's not leaps and bounds over the last two years.
The QC certainly isn't at the same level, but I don't think it's as bad as most would claim. I've had 2 different TCLs for 3 years or more and they never developed any problems. Re-sold both of them locally for a fair price (cheap obviously). I mean new they cost 1/2 what bigger brands do, or even 1/3-or-less what a Sony does. Even if you had to replace it twice out-of-pocket in 3 years, you've only just reached the original price of the Sony. So... yeah. It's a value judgement to be made.
This model needed repair 3 weeks after I bought it.
Well...about ZERO minutes. My TCL came with vertical bands, DSE and poor uniformity straight out of the box. Returned it immediately. Went with Samsung ($100 more but perfect uniformity.)
This is why I buy from Costco
