I subscribed cos I love how long the video is. No edited, showing everything from taking it out of the box, assembling and setting up. That how unboxing videos should be. There’s something pleasing in watching things being assembled and configured.
Thanks for that much appreciated
@Chantze Anderson it's a box with all the hdmi connections etc. separate to the tv connected by one lead
@@TellyDan Hi @tellydan what bolts are used to fix the mount to the back of the Q85R, size and length? Wall mount is a vogels 3305. Cheers
The way u lift up the tv out of the box looks very easy for such big size...amazing..
Thanks
Thank you for this video. Helped me out big time with putting the stand together.
You're most welcome. Glad it helped
Just bought a 55 inch Q85R for £850. I hear it's good for gaming and super awesome for watching hdr content! Its replacing my trusty reliable 55 inch ku6500 which I've had for a few years. That one connect box will keep things tidy on top of my super awesome black new York style TV cabinet! Great video. 😁👍❤️
Awesome you got a good buy there especially at that price. I think it'll last you years
I just love the QLEDs of Samsung because of Menudesign 👍🏽
Great help when I was setting up my Q85R Samsung tv made the job very simple thank you
I'm glad it helped and I hope you enjoy. No go binge watch some Netflix
Just peeling off that plastic from the front :) looks like a great TV
Got mine on 9/1/20
Love it
Only problem has been getting it to recognise external hard drive I used with previous Sony TV.
HDR picture is astounding
Got mine on the 10th - love it too!
Just bought this. Can’t wait for it to arrive.
Awesome keep you busy during the lockdown
TellyDan haha that’s it. Be a while before I see any football on it 😔😂. Great vids mate. Keep up the good work.
Well i got the 65 inch version 3 days ago and i can say i have a blast with it. Stunning picture, its brightness levels are very high and its blacks very deep.
It is great for gaming on Xbox one x and since Sony and Microsoft confirm their target for their next gen consoles is 4k/60 hdmi 2.1 is not really needed, except if we are talking about gaming on a pc
Oled like peformance for much less money.
Yes I agree. I think it'll keep you happy for a good amount of years
Awesome Samsung TV set
Great video and perfect!
Ty
could you tell what the width of the stand is?
I bought the 65 of this TV for £1,600 from Curry's 5 months ago , and I love it , this TV with the PS4 Pro is awesome 😊
Great buy especially at that price
@@TellyDan not really i bought a oled in 2019 on sale which if bought now would cost £300 more, this is currently selling for £1299.
I got the 65 inch for £1300 in currys earlier in the year too.
It was a very interesting video, but I live in Iran and I am in the boycott and I would love to have one of these TVs.
Good luck
It's a shame things are that way. Feel for you dude. Maybe one day though. Thankyou as well

i have a 2018 qled tv. Can you tell me how I can play movies from external usb disk drive that has a password?? I cannot see an option to type the password in to access the movies!! All my disks are password protected (obviously lol). Is it possible that samsung just didn't "think" about this, and can simply not access these disks??? (I actually don't know anyone that doesn't password-protect their external disks, so this is not an uncommon /"special" situation..)
Hey TellyDan,
nice Videos! One question Which No Gap Wall Mount fit to this Model?
Hi does it come with a wall mount or do you have to get that separate?
I have two of these tvs. Best blacks on a non oled I've seen.

If SAMSUNG can make a TV bezzel so thin why dont they make the same for their laptop except notebook 9 pro 2019.
What if i dont remove the screen protection layer, will it do any damage for the tv or overheating for the screen? Hi. Do you replace TV screens for Samsung QF7 55 inch?
By the way your videos are really good.
Just picked up one of these TVs and I’m struggling to get it to connect to my samsung hwj650 sound bar through the tvsoundconnect function. Any advice or tips??
Have you reset the tv sound connect? I think you hold the play pause button while unit is on
Perfect!
Thx for this video.Mine arrives on monday.I ordered the 75" Model.
Good to see how to install the stand. But I often heard it damages the TV if you lay it.Im a bit confused now.Are you sure it is ok to install the stand that way?
They instruct you to do it that way so it must be. It's quite hard to assemble vertical and placing onto the stand as well. Apologies for the delayed reply
Is the bezel silver or black or bit of both?
If not requested but do you mind make a video were you can show how it will perform in pc gaming or console gaming?..

A Samsung 2019 Q80R unboxing , plz. I love these videos, I'm from Brazil.
If we get one in I will. No oneconnect with the q80. Fairly similar to the q85 apart from that though
@@tiiagocorreiia verdade. Eu já tinha visto que a Q80 americana era diferente da nossa aqui, e pensei que o nosso modelo fosse igual ao europeu, até Telly me avisar que a 80R também não tem One Connect na Europa. can you order the rectangular base plate with the screws as mine are missing, I have the stand as in your video, but that part is missing? Whats it called if I were to order one? cheers
No one connect box in the 50inch version?
Can you check the service menu (for the 90 as well) and see what it says for 'Dimming'? And whilst you're in there also what it says for 'Option'? 😎👍
And nice to finally see a retail Q85R (Q80 must be coming at a later date?)
I think so for the q80 it's pretty similar to the q85 but without the oneconnect box for installations where the wire come out the wall where the TV is. Also no option of no gap wall mount on it.
I'll update on the service menu as well

Hi Dan. Great video. I’ve just got this tv but seem to have an issue when watching Sky Q. HD channels look quite fuzzy and nowhere near as good as my old Samsung 46 inch LED tv from 2011. Any ideas? Have you noticed any issues with Sky Q and these QLEDs? The pic quality on the built in Netflix app seems good but anything through the Q box just seems fuzzy or a bit blurry. Many thanks in advance. Chris
Hi, Just wondering if you got a fix for that as I'm having mine delivered Saturday and have Sky Q HD. Cheers, Thanks
tomncar Hi mate. Didn’t get a fix per se, but the picture quality seems fine now...however that could just be because my eyes have adjusted to the new tv... who knows. Word of advice if you have a Soundbar, plug that in direct to the Sky Q box and not the one connect box, to make sure you don’t get lip sync issues with Sky Q when set to Dolby Digital. Only issue is, if you want to then use the built in native apps on the tv, you need to unplug soundbar from Q box and plug into the one connect. Quite annoying but apparently it’s a know issue between Samsung and Sky re lip sync.
@@CBHCY Cheers for getting back to me so quick. I don't intend to use a soundbar , so the lip synch will be ok ? I'm dropping a grand on this so don't want to buy a pig in the poke :) Thanks again
tomncar yeah the lip sync is fine without the soundbar mate
@@CBHCY Cheers Mate. I'll look forward to having it delivered tomorrow now :)
Do companies sell you display model at cost price, if not what do you do with them ?
Yes the display models are sold to shops at a discounted rate. Then they are sold off cheap as ex display at the end of the season
Anyone had an issue with no sound when switching to other HDMI sources? This happens if switch to PS5 or FireTV box. When I switch back to SkyTV (hdmi too) sound is fine. Only way I get sound back to the other HDMI devices is by disconnecting and reconnecting the one connect cable from the one connect box.

Buying this tv.
Hello!! What's the difference between this and Q82R model? Thank you in advance!
Q82r no One Connect box , but q85r have one Connect box , q82r have 45 dimming zone but q85r have 100 dimming zone . Thats the deferances . By tha way q90r have 480 dimming zone 👍🏾
What are people's thoughts on the One Connect box? I really want to order my new TV today but I'm torn between this and the Q80, which from comparison to me look virtually the same? However Q80 has no One Connect box and you're not able to apply it flush to the wall like you can with Q85. Is it worth splashing out the extra £500? TIA :)
EDIT: While we're here, any suggestions on sound bars would also be appreciated!
The oneconnect can be convenient with only having that one thin wire to the tv. Also the q85 has more dimmable backlight zones. Sonos sound bars are good also the q70r soundbar would go well with this tv. The q80r soundbar is good if you have the room
@@TellyDan Super helpful thank you! I've decided against the 85R simply after seeing many threads about issues with the cable so I'll keep it old school! Although just to throw a spanner in the works I've seen the Q60R is practically half the price and I can see the main differences are: 20 Watt sound system, 1 speaker, UHD LED Dimming, 1000 nits brightness, Edge Lit Backlight, Quantum HDR, and 3000 PQI.
Whereas the 80R has 40 Watt sound system, 3 speakers, Full Array Dimming, 1500 nits brightness, Full Array Backlight, Quantum HDR 1500, and 3700 PQI.
I'm not a techy person AT ALL, however I want to be wowed by my TV, and as it's not something I'll be looking to replace any time soon I'd like it to still wow me for around the 8 year mark. While it's obvious that the 80R is better in terms of spec, are these factors that are massively noticeably different to the average person? Will I still be blown away by the 60R or should I bite the bullet and go for the 80R?
@@sianrebecca1 I would go and look at them both for yourself the q60r is ok if you're on a budget but there is a clear difference between the 2. Even when they are turned off as furniture the q70 and above look better because of the small bezel. I bought last years q9fn 55" in December as the price drops alot by then. The one connect lead this year seems quite robust so it shouldn't cause an issue. Whatever model you buy make sure you get the 5 year warranty for peace of mind. If you can wait until winter the price drops quite a bit. Hope this all helps.
Hi, i have just signed up for virgin TV with the 360 box, however when i set it all up my one connect box isn't recognising it, all cables are correctly set up as per the guide, i have tried all HDMI ports but still nothing ? would you happen to have any idea why this could be happening, thanks

I got the Q80RAK which has a seperate OneConnect the same as the Q85... Is it the same TV as this one? I live in UAE
I'm guessing it probably is
in Russia q80 comes with box has the brightness of 1000 nits and the plastic single panel on the display is written direct* 6 and 48 zones of dimming to q85 has the brightness 1500 nits metal panel plus the second panel and his written direct * 8 and 96 dimming zones and to Europe and Russia cuts q80 is q80 in America the same as the q85 and you have you view on the display if the written direct * 6 so you have it trimmed if direct * 8 means the same as the q85 on Europe.
Considerable amount of blooming, I see. Is it due to camera exposure?
Yes the camera exaggerates it
Hey Dan, I was wondering about TV size, I have a distance of a little bit more than 4m from the TV, and I read that the appropriate size is upwards 75’’, which sounds like a lot. I was wondering if 65’’ for that distance doesn’t alter the experience?
Second question, how’s reflection on the 85R? Does it have that layer improvement thing that reduces reflection, like the 90R? (Because it’ll be next to a big window) How about the black levels?
Anyways thanks for the video mate.
Reflection is good on this model. Distance wise I think you'd be fine with a 65. Have a look in a shop if you get the chance and stand the same distance as at home and see what you think

Can you install VLC player of Samsung 2018 QLED TV? Samsung's software & player for playing movies from a hard disk SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! What a shame for such an expensive "smart" TV!! The installed player wont play avi, it wont read srt subtitles, terrible to navigate in the movie (eg fast forward/back etc etc) via the remote control. And the software that reads the contents of the connected external disks is just as bad!! It cannot open a password protected external disk (most people password-protect their disks nowadays obviously..), it doesnt have a simple list view for disk contents, nor a letter typing search, so you can scroll down a list of movies fast or just jump to a letter. So if you have a movies' folder with many movies it may even take 2 minutes to just scroll to a movie whose title starts with "t".... CRAZY for this day and age!!
So maybe if we can, AT LEAST, just download a player like VLC (that just plays everything hassle-free), we can use that for our QLED TVs??
