    Jesus lol, I hate having to always hear about "oh I'd rather stick to OLED" blah, blah nonsense man. We all understand that OLED has some nice image quality, but it isnt huge to some other non OLED TVs honestly, and to make that purchase and have to always be worrying about my TV suffering image burn?!? No thank you. I've been contemplating on getting the Sony A9G OLED but to spend that kind of money on a set and have to be super cautious how much time I watch movies/TV or game is absurd man. Instead of trolling videos of non OLED TVs you should be worrying about that nice looking oled and when will they fix that issue 🤔

    • @btjh1855
      @btjh1855 4 года назад +1

      OLED burn is not as common as you think. generally oled is a better pick. where i live you can get an oled for half the price of this, by LG, which just seems like a no brainer. they wouldn't mass produce them if they were that bad, and besides, guarantees. you don't need to have your TV around 24/7 do you? just if you're that unlucky 0,02% that it happens to.

    • @ernestojuarez9296
      @ernestojuarez9296 4 года назад +1

      btjh burnin is common. The thing is the average person will not notice they have burnin unless they put a red slide or magenta slide and look for the signs. It isn’t noticeable when watching regular content that’s why most people don’t notice it and don’t complain. Burnin also depends on how long you have the tv on per day. If you are doing 12 hours of constant watching without giving the tv a rest the tv will become susceptible to burnin because the tv wont have time to do a compensation cycle. Also depends on the content you are watching. If you play for example allot of animation or cartoons for many hours a day the panel heats up more than say watching a film because that type of content uses pure bright colors which makes the pixels constantly light up. Heat will make it susceptible to burnin.

    This is a very impressive panel now that I've seen it IRL a few times. However, I was kind of bummed that the local dimming on the 55'' in game mode was turned down significantly. To the point where it was... well... not even half as good as when watching movies. I tend to use my TV for like 60% series/movies/shows and 40% gaming so that's basically still a pretty big bummer.

    Good video. That one connect box is flawed though. They give you a right angled power lead that goes directly above one of the satellite in sockets. Also there should be a 5v usb socket on the back so if your using a firestick the hdmi & usb power lead are all located at the back. Personally I think the extra usb sockets should be at the front under a hidden flap

    • @TellyDan
      @TellyDan  5 лет назад

      Samsung has dramatically downgraded their TVs this year. My only guess is they plan to rely heavily on marketing while cutting down on production costs to increase profit margins for future technologies, such as MLED. On the other hand, LG seems to be upping the ante as well as Sony ( to varying degrees).

    Well I fell in love with the TV straight away then I looked at the price and I could not believe that the 55 inch model you have here weighs in at a WHOPPING £2,799.You can buy last years 55 inch Flagship model for £1,599 and for the life of me I cannot see where the extra £1,200 has gone when you compare the both of them. I also noticed that this newer model never even came with the Flat Wall Mount and if they can include it in a £999 Frame TV why is it not included here for that WHOPPING price tag. They are being a bit stingy if you ask me.
    To be honest when I was in John Lewis buying my TV I looked at all the Samsung QLED range they had set up and the 7, 8 and 9 models all looked identical and even picture quality wise they all looked the same and as good as each other. The price of them was excellent too with the 55 inch models with the Q7 at £999. Q8 at £1,199 and the Q9 at £1,599. I would take any one of them over the price of this new model any day of the week.
    I noticed in this video Dan that when you set the TV from Home to Retail it still had the Samsung demos that you showed at the end of the video here. I have not tried switching my TV from Home to Retail and will have to try that to see what demos were on mine if they are still on there.

      Yeah but do you remember how much last years cost when it was released it was more then this year even in America it's seriously like 700 cheaper then the q9fn was last year when released you have to look at it that way because any product when released will cost more then the model from the year before especially since there on sale to get rid of the product but yeah every single model in this years line up cost less then last years models when they were released that's really good I wish we could get the 55 inch q80r and q90r here but I saw the side by side soft the q70r and q80r I would buy the q70r over it because of price and it still performs just as good just less viewing angles and doesnt have the glare reduction coating other then that it's the same its rated to be brighter but really side by side on content the q80r only looked slightly brighter not enough to go oh man that's a big difference and to be honest color seemed to have more pop I'm guessing because the ultra viewing angle cut down on that just a little bit just like any other led that tries doing tech like that I will say smasung did the best with it that I've seen

      @@jimcameron1234 I got the 82" Q90R for $5700 shipped, which to me was a great value. The 8K models are very nice too, I'm sure the 98" looks stunning.

      Leonardo Grilli thanks I think I will. I also read that the metal remotes depend on what region of the world you live in. I'm in the USA. European Samsungs seem to get the metal one and I did see an unboxing of one that included 3 types of remotes. I'll buy one if I have to.

    Another overpriced LCD TV from Samsung. They cant even get the sticker straight at the back that tells me that the QC is still shit and the TV will probably still suffer from horrible banding and DSE.
