Great review. The speakers on this year’s 6 Series are better than on last year’s 6 Series. I have both and I actually needed a sound bar for last year’s model. I won’t be needing one for the 635. So it’s a real improvement. Good catch on the audio.

This review is on point, thanks for showing love to one of the best bargain tv of 2020, Have the TCL 6R325 the 55 inch I'm surprised how the price went up on this tv, I got mines for 650 back in January but now I see it for 750, still a very good buy.

I have an off topic question for you. I just got the TCL 635 and it definately needs a soundbar. Do you have any recommendations for one under $300?
I have the same tv. I went with the Bose Smart Soundbar 300. Incredible soundbar. But it’s 399. So they do have a different one called the “Bose TV soundbar” which is under 300. That one isn’t as good as the smart 300 but it still slaps.

Loved your review, and good at being simplified and right to the point, keep it up! Trying to make up my mind for a bedroom TV but for living room definitely going the extra budget to get a good oled or qled , not sure yet, but im sure you'll help me on that too! Haha
The nano cell handles motion so much better. Everything is so smooth on it compared to even the new tcl 646.

@@MrCool144 IPS vs VA issues aren't always the determining factors on motion handling, processing, experience, and implementation go a long way, over all the imagery appears to move smoother and more refined on the LG, I say this as a BB worker that daily sees these 2 TVs side by side, maybe it's the cheap demo video TCL runs throwing a wrench into my comparison, but every LG I've owned handled motion like a champ, not an LG shill by any means, more of a Sony guy tbh

I personally prefer the LG NanoCell 85.
QLED and NanoCell is very similar technology.
They are. Its really a difference of IPS vs VA panel.

TCL R646 does have HDMI 2.1 so it hands down beats the NanoCell if you are comparing it to the R646.

I just ordered a 55 inch TCL 6 series, but my main thing besides watching movies and TV would be next gen gaming on both the PS5 and Series X. So would it actually be better to go with the LG in case those consoles ever get 4K 120 Hrz games, or go with the better picture in TCL 6 series?
After using both of them for gaming, I’d say go with the 6 series. It’s a solid beautiful picture overall and can still do 1440p or 1080p at 120hz as well as 4K at 60hz. Hope this helps!

TCL is the better TV but the OS and Remote of the TCL is ugly as hell. LG is faaar better there especially with the magic remote

For better black on nano85 does turning off local diming make it better? I want this tv for its hdmi 2.1 and palying on pc in a dark room at night

Had the same with my 75r635! The TV was beautiful, but died after a month. I got the replacement and 7 months later going strong. A pain, but i love the TV and still think its an amazing value.

Can you play 4K at 120hz on both TV’s?
The TCL is natively 120hz, however since it’s a few years old it has no HDMI 2.1…. So it’s capped at 1440p at 120hz

You’re kidding right? It has IPS. So you’re dealing with a dim display, washed out colors, and lifted blacks. I actually looked at that tv before I went with the TCL 6 Series. For the price, it’s not even a question.
@@nicholas.alan85 im not saying the tv you bought is bad, but dont talk about black level and colors like you are talking about an oled :))))) nano85 is the gamers choice black level in birght room is almost similar to va panels, colors are not washed out, the only problem the tv has is that in a dark room black is horrible, tcl tvs are great for general use of a tv, tv shows, football.....
