TCL R635 has Absolutely Great Blooming Performance for Movies, and Game’s on Xbox Series X as I’ve played Many game’s already so far without any perceivable blooming at all with Game Mode, and Local Dimming (local contrast on TCL) Set Too High as it’s absolutely Amazing to say the least
@@chriskorneluk2255 That doesn't stop the problem, just reduces it. Have a look at the video from 'The Tech Giant' titled 'Budget QLED vs Nanocell black level test,LOOK at the difference!'. Even with local dimming off, the 'blooming' is still pretty bad, and black levels still aren't anywhere near on par with the Q60T.
How often do you watch with subtitles and dark scenes? This a technical comparison video where they pick the worst they can kind find out of the TVs. Most of the time you wouldn't even notice any blooming on Nano cell.
BFI will cause the picture to dim maybe making dark scenes look blacker but with it being an ips panel this tv will never have good blacks no matter what settings you use. The blacks on the nanocells will always looks Greyish or washed out.
No that's not true, I have a 9010 and my blacks looks VERY black. That said, the blooming is very noticeable if the settings aren't set correctly and even with them set optimally, there is still some blooming but not nearly as much as when you're simply using the preset factory settings.

I prefer QLED due to no burn-in potential at all, way superior max brightness (very handy in bright sunny rooms) plus Samsung QLED have the best in business anti-reflecting coating and the best non-OLED viewing angles OLED is better for me in a dark room and TVs like LG's Wallpaper and Rollable TVs are stunning but the potential of burn-in is to be consider
This comparison is a bit strange - where I live 86" LG Nano90 is 2 times cheaper than 85" Q90T. It's price is equal to Samsung 8000-series, without any QLED.

Great Information. I had the LG 75NANO80 ($1799 CND) for almost a month and the one thing I couldn't get over was the blooming in dark scenes. I decided to return it for a more expensive QN85Q70 ($2800 CND). Once I had it setup, my wife and I immediately saw the difference in picture quality. The images from the Q70 produced was softer and natural to the eyes. It wasn't straineous to naked eye like the 75Nano80. My wife complained that the LG was too bright and was painful to watch bright and colorful scenes. I couldn't get over the blooming. On the Q70, the blooming was all but eliminated and reflection was reduced thanks to the anti reflective coating. The one good thing about the Q70 is the stand, it can fit onto any size table ( I don't understand why other companies don't offer middle stands with large screens). Anyway, I recommend the Q70 if you don't want blooming, for the extra money I think it's worth it especially when your staring into a massive screen watching any content. I think QLED is the more superior due to the VA panel and the duel LED. The Titan software is more responsive that the LG WebOS but I really like the LG magic remote ( reminds me of the Nintendo Wiimote), then the Samsung (more physical buttons are a plus in my books). My advice is to spend time (within your 30 days to return policy) with family and nitpick the tv. Watch your favorite tv shows/ movies and games but test smaller screens tv's to test and return then like myself who started with a 75" then went to 85".
Hey Vincent, would you mind comparing TV's across generations? For example, comparing LCD TV's from 2016, to LCD TV's from 2020 for the same brand. It would be interesting to see how the technology has improved if at all in a direct comparison.
Without watching the video - OLED hands down! I own a 49' Nano867na, the colors are amazing, I love to game on it with my Series X but it has two glaring issues. The first one are the black levels which is expected. The second issue I have with this IPS Panel is that the 120Hz mode introduces heavy ghosting, which is why im using 4K60Hz with ALLM and VRR turned on. That just seems to be the sweetspot with this TV.
@@WindCZ UPDATE: The ghosting in 120Hz was fixed, the annoying and butt ugly posterization Effects in HDR got fixed and there is no more flickering in 4K120 mode. Definitely impressed by the update support from LG, considering its a budget TV.
Nice review/comparison. If the prices were similar, I would go with the Samsung for sure. Right now (for 75"), the Samsung is about $2800USD, where the LG is about $1600. If I'm willing to pay $2800 for an LCD, I might as well get the 77" LG OLED for about $3500.
Was lucky to see both the nano90 series and the Samsung Q80T side by side. Needless to say I walked out of best buy with a q80t after looking at LG's nanocell after a few seconds. Too much blooming on the LG.
Yup, LG OLED or a different Brand If LCD ist your choice. Had an LG ips Led TV 5 years ago. Horrible branding and Backlight bleeding. But couldnt be happier with my current LG CX. Right at the Moment ist Just OLED CX or Samsung q90t. Its Just a matter of your Viewing conditions and If youre a sucker for dark Blacks. Both TVs are awesome, each with its own strengths.
It is not understood how some people say that one television is better than another, if its good characteristics can only be appreciated when the screen is viewed only from the front.
There was a good comparison of detail on another channel, it showed at times the Nano cell had better detail than OLED and other times the other way around.
i have the 75" nano90....i dont see any of that blooming like your showing. yes blacks are bad (more of a dark grey) in a "no light room" you need to have one light (doesnt even have to be bright) scenes look black...i tested first thing game of thrones s8 dark ep. it was gorgeous..i didnt see any blooming...and if caption is turned on sure dont "bloom" like your showing. but as for blackness in the ep? you could tell the difference of the different blacks (their cloaks ect) but they looked black. only thing i have noticed is once in a while when its upscaling and doing hdr a jitter could be seen during movement. not all the time just once in a while. im really curious what you have the settings at that causes all that blooming. what are you cranking the contrast and brightness? from stock settings contrast needs to be dropped about 10 points and the brightness needs to be raised about 10 points (at least thats what i had to do or the picture was just to dark) and i dont see the blooming in space scenes. ive tried different space movies...nothing im just not seeing what your showing
Yup i have the nano 86 and i havnt had any issues with black levels even in dark rooms ONLY on COMPLETE dark screens is where i would notice blooming in the corners but other then that its a great tv.And yes the "jitter"as you call it around people when they move sometimes is there not all the time.Not sure what causes that?

KontryBoy706, I did exactly like that, and bought Sony x900h. Yusuf believe me, it looks quite that bad in a dark room. That one week with Nano90 was made me crazy.
I own a nano 90 and it's an amazing tv for gaming.the dejutter smooths out 30 fps games and makes them feel like 60 and when you turn off the power savings which is on by default the tv looks even more beautiful.especially if you know how to calibrate your own tv.
I just got 75 Q80t. For 2150 plus tax.. I know its not the best tv on market but it was a stretch for me to get it . full array local dimming she has a breathtaking picture..
Maybe LG’s NanoCell has gotten better in 2022 because I have seen footage on some newer models and they look much much better than what I am seeing here. The blacks are amazingly black with little to no grayness.

@iron deni Qleds are great tv's. The the Q8 and Q9 were amazing. The Q90 doesn't quite match those in black levels because it focused more on off angle viewing. It's still a really great set though. I myself was torn between Qled and Oled in the end I chose Qled because it made more sense in my setup. I have a lot of windows in my living room, play games on it and have kids. Yes in a fully dark room the Oled having perfect blacks will be superior in that area, but even then with the settings I have on my qled the blacks are stll phenomenal and almost no blooming at all. Now in a room with a lot of ambient light my Qled will either match or far surpass Oled depending on how much light. Also Qled superior whites and the color is astounding. Lastly I never have to worry about burn in as I have kids and I also fall asleep sometimes for hrs with a static game screen on. It's basically 98% of the performance but none of the weaknesses.
Wrong comparison ! To bring you up to date the Samsung 85" cost is $3600 on Amazon and the LG 86" NANO 91 is less than $2000 in store at Costco with a 4 year warranty. How could you ever compare such a difference in price????
I was thinking of buying a q80t, but as far as I can tell, all qled models from samsung have issues with ghosting, especially in video games. That's a huge let down!
I access this review cause I just bought a NANO from LG. I agree with all things said here, except the very base of comparison. A fair one should be made between LG OLED and Samsung QLED, as both are top of the game, not with NANO witch is middle game for LG
I became my q90t today. Im really happy about it. its better then i see it on all this youtube videos. Bud on youtube was good to see it, thx youtubers that show some details i buy one. Im a gamer and the tv is a allrounder beautiful for now.
Just picked up a 75" Samsung Q95T last week and very impressed so far- especially with the build and sound quality. I'm not a huge Samsung fan and this is only my 1st Samsung since buying a 50" Samsung DLP a long, long time ago. That was a an excellent tv and had a hack to get into the factory settings to tweak gamma and a few other settings. I am hoping the Q95T will live up to my expectations. I watch mainly RUclips and a lot of 4K movies on disc. I currently have a Sony UBP-X800 4K disc player. To take full advantage of HDR10+ can anyone tell me if I will see any benefit and should buy a Panasonic 4K player with the HDR Optimizer....????
Yeah for video VAs are far better than IPS displays. Though if you're a gamer IPS tends to be better as VA tends to have smearing which looks pretty bad and if you run games at 120hz makes the benefits of 120hz far less noticeable.
I had the 86” Nano90 and tried default, custom and recommended from online settings and no matter what a good amount of content had terrible blooming. Yes, I tried turning local dimming off as well while trying out multiple settings but with LD off it always looked worse than on, ended up running between Bright / Dark Room Expert settings with LD high most the time. Sometimes the picture quality would be really nice, especially on bright scenes. However, the blooming issues were very noticeable and so I returned it for the 85” Q90t. The Samsung Q90t is much much better in my experience at handling blooming and has a great picture quality. I also have had an OLED for 4 years and Q90t while being great tv is not OLED level of picture quality.
I tried a lot of settings and was running with Dark Room / Bright Room LD high settings. Hmpf. Mine was worse, it had BLB on the top left corner and at the bottom, impossible to watch any HDR content, due to the edge light popping through like a curtain, as the light in the scenes moved around. my mom's 400 euro smart Samsung tv had better picture quality than this trash. The blooming is horrendous on the Nano but the detail lost on the background star field on the sammy at 6:12 makes the nano look great ... I have the XH9005 X900H but I’m starting to miss some of my old plasma kuro benefits and I feel I might have to go CX/oled as I’m unable to unsee the bloom etc that lcd/led brings...
Viewing angles, gamma shift, un natural skin tones and unrealistic tint to the image has always made me fundamentally dislike VA panels on TV's and monitors which is a shame because the contrast is much better. Anyone else feel the same? My eyes got used to IPS panels and the color and general look of them. But I do want better blacks and more punchy contrast image. Hard to get both great realistic colors and good blacks and a punchy contrast full image without going to OLED which has it's issues. Price, no smaller sizes, burn in risk, automatic brightness limiter etc.
Get the QLED man. I got one, it's amazing. Samsung pretty much fixed just about every typical VA issue, and the ones that are present, are extremely minimal.
@@yusuf8938i am sensitive to dirty screen effect I play sports games and it qleds tend to have gray uniformity issues. But do you have some recommended models in mind?
@@PSYCHOV3N0M I agree OLED is what they do. I really think the only reason they make the Nanocell is to have an entry level, and hope those people who buy it will upgrade to the OLED line down the road.
@@lanceheaps581 I can't imagine that most average consumers would be willing to do returns, etc for TVs. Some people out there don't like any sort of hassle. Once they buy it, they psychologically convince themselves that they love it and leave it at that. Regardless, I personally think LG is pointlessly wasting money by manufacturing Nanocell TVs. They could save that money for more R&D or something else.

Nothing comes close to the brightness, black levels and picture the quality of the Sony Z9D from 2016. 4 years later and it's still the King of LED TV's. The Samsung Q9FN from 2018 comes in second place.
The Z9G is the actual replacement as it uses the same Master Backlight Drive having well above 500 zones. The Z9G and the Z9H are both 8K TV'S which we all know are way too early.
It's not really fair because the price ranges from the Q90T to the Nano90 are drastically difference. I feel like a Q80T vs Nano90 would've been a better comparison.
86" LG NANO91 or 85" Samsung QLED Q6DT from Costco ($2200) both basically the same price with 5 year warranty. Which would you pick for a dedicated dark theater room with direct viewing angles, no off angle viewing?
Read my review on the 82UN8570 and 86UN8570 on Rtings.com. I think you would be better off with the 82" VA panel over either the nano IPS or qled, and save 1000$ if you don't need VRR for gaming.. I got both from costco as well.
The Samsung seems to crush small bright spots vs the LG blowing out blacks with backlight bleed. Each can look better in their own regards but the Samsung looks better as a whole.
Thank you for the samples, for a few details, I must admit that the overall LG image is better and clearer, does not suffer from a gray screen, has a lower glare and retains color throughout the area, also with the same settings puts more emphasis on detail, LG price / performance ratio is A perfect, recent comparison by OLED LG has shown that Nanocell is an equally quality competitor at a better price! LG is perfect for watching TV at night. The VA panel is already very dark and the details disappear, as well as the color range to the dark color disappears a lot. Samsung's suffering continues: - /, I have had LG products for several generations and LG is perfect for watching TV at home in the evening. I use a satellite VU that has a perfect picture!
The nano90 and q90t are not even the same class. Proper comparison would be with the q80 or even 70t. Of course the 90t will be much better as far as local dimming, hell the 90t will lead in almost EVERY category. I own both the nano90 and the 80t and there's noticable difference in every category including gaming. Now the nano90 in 4k, hdr pretty darn good and I honestly I don't see the blooming at the levels seen here in this video. With all that said, both of those TV's pretty darn good and both blow away my previous 800 series Sony by miles especially in HDR.

I've had 49nano863 also and the nano90 and they have the same problems. It depends also how you look at them. If you have them on a stand and not mounted to a wall they look very bad. LG planed these TV's to be wall mounted, so that you look at them from a lower position then the lower bezel.

@@DJCOOP1983 Well, if you are gonna use it on PC and stay close to it, in middle, at about 1-2 feet, if you have some icons on the margins of the screen you are gonna notice that some of the text of the icons is missing. I didn't like that either. All LG IPS TV's have that problem, because of the bad screen engineering.

Otherwise you should of bought samsung. But I'm very with my lg 49 866nano only paid £599 on sale. Very happy with it 😊
@Gate Crasher UK It means that you don't even know how and IPS panel should really look. NANOCELL is not an IPS panel anymore, is a mess. I have a TN screen on my PC LG Monitor that looks better when looking from sides.
Don't think this is a proper comparison since the Q90T is about at the price range of a CX OLED. That would probably be a better comparison. The Nano90 would be better compared with the Q70T. And if you compare them, the Nano is way better. Tvs should be compared by price ranges, not models.
I've always prefered the more neutral and natural color presentation on LG TVs over the warmer and more saturated color look on SAMSUNG TVs. However, for all the rest I do prefer SAMSUNG. If I had to pick one between these two, considering all aspects, it would definitely be the SAMSUNG.

I keep changing my mind on what to get, After seeing this though I am leaning toward trying out a VA panel instead of the usual IPS I have had before. I play games in dark room and IPS is crap besides colours and viewing angles, It's more greys than black. Was going to get the LG 27GL850 IPS but I have heard the contrast on it sucks.
@@circeseye1 Yeah I use an IPS and VA panel TV in dual monitor setup and only notice blacks don't get as black on IPS in pitch black room and when I turn off the 2nd VA monitor. So if you gonna use as 2nd monitor or dual monitor setup like I do not as big an issue as you see in this video since I"m sure the camera also exaggerates the backlight bleed and gray blacks on the IPS TV too.
Anyone looking at getting the Q90T should really wait until next year. Samsung is about to move to Mini LED, meaning zone count is about to skyrocket from what we have right now and contrast ratios should get much better.
I have the Q8fn and it looks phenomenal on the standard mode. Unfortunately I cant seem to get the colors right on game mode. Also game mode is great for getting rid of screen tearing when you enable Vsync but then it makes 30fps look choppy. I decided to turn off game mode for the time being until I can get professional calibration.

LG 86Nano91 is $2,149.99 vs Samsung 85Q90T is $3,999.99. I don't think the Q90T is worth $1,850 more. Even the Samsung 85Q80T is $3,499.99. $1,350 is still not worth to pay for Samsung QLED vs LG NANO. But if you had a choice between the 86NANO91 $2,149.99 vs 85Q60T $2,199.99, which one would you get? (Not much of a gamer, just stream Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. and maybe some sports.

I have the older Samsung q8fn the software/remote is much better than my lg oled c8. That’s the only thing better with the QLED as the DSE is terrible. I can’t even watch hockey as the whites are so uneven and patchy. The LG oled is great for movies and sports. Sometimes the blacks are crushed but I’m much happier with the OLED.
In your LG CX vs Samsung Q90/Q95T comparison the blooming on the Q90/95T looked much worse than in this video. It seems more acceptable when it is compared to the LG Nano 90.

It wasn't straineous to naked eye like the 75Nano80. My wife complained that the LG was too bright and was painful to watch bright and colorful scenes. I couldn't get over the blooming. On the Q70, the blooming was all but eliminated and reflection was reduced thanks to the anti reflective coating.
The one good thing about the Q70 is the stand, it can fit onto any size table ( I don't understand why other companies don't offer middle stands with large screens).
Anyway, I recommend the Q70 if you don't want blooming, for the extra money I think it's worth it especially when your staring into a massive screen watching any content. I think QLED is the more superior due to the VA panel and the duel LED.
The Titan software is more responsive that the LG WebOS but I really like the LG magic remote ( reminds me of the Nintendo Wiimote), then the Samsung (more physical buttons are a plus in my books).
My advice is to spend time (within your 30 days to return policy) with family and nitpick the tv. Watch your favorite tv shows/ movies and games but test smaller screens tv's to test and return then like myself who started with a 75" then went to 85".

Hey Vincent, would you mind comparing TV's across generations? For example, comparing LCD TV's from 2016, to LCD TV's from 2020 for the same brand. It would be interesting to see how the technology has improved if at all in a direct comparison.

Without watching the video - OLED hands down! I own a 49' Nano867na, the colors are amazing, I love to game on it with my Series X but it has two glaring issues. The first one are the black levels which is expected. The second issue I have with this IPS Panel is that the 120Hz mode introduces heavy ghosting, which is why im using 4K60Hz with ALLM and VRR turned on. That just seems to be the sweetspot with this TV.
I play on my nano86 rocket league on 120hz and its amazing af. cant imagine better tv in this price lvl.

The ghosting in 120Hz was fixed, the annoying and butt ugly posterization Effects in HDR got fixed and there is no more flickering in 4K120 mode. Definitely impressed by the update support from LG, considering its a budget TV.

Nice review/comparison. If the prices were similar, I would go with the Samsung for sure. Right now (for 75"), the Samsung is about $2800USD, where the LG is about $1600. If I'm willing to pay $2800 for an LCD, I might as well get the 77" LG OLED for about $3500.

Was lucky to see both the nano90 series and the Samsung Q80T side by side. Needless to say I walked out of best buy with a q80t after looking at LG's nanocell after a few seconds. Too much blooming on the LG.

There was a good comparison of detail on another channel, it showed at times the Nano cell had better detail than OLED and other times the other way around.
i have the 75" nano90....i dont see any of that blooming like your showing. yes blacks are bad (more of a dark grey) in a "no light room" you need to have one light (doesnt even have to be bright) scenes look black...i tested first thing game of thrones s8 dark ep. it was gorgeous..i didnt see any blooming...and if caption is turned on sure dont "bloom" like your showing. but as for blackness in the ep? you could tell the difference of the different blacks (their cloaks ect) but they looked black.
only thing i have noticed is once in a while when its upscaling and doing hdr a jitter could be seen during movement. not all the time just once in a while.
im really curious what you have the settings at that causes all that blooming. what are you cranking the contrast and brightness? from stock settings contrast needs to be dropped about 10 points and the brightness needs to be raised about 10 points (at least thats what i had to do or the picture was just to dark)
and i dont see the blooming in space scenes. ive tried different space movies...nothing

Yup i have the nano 86 and i havnt had any issues with black levels even in dark rooms ONLY on COMPLETE dark screens is where i would notice blooming in the corners but other then that its a great tv.And yes the "jitter"as you call it around people when they move sometimes is there not all the time.Not sure what causes that?
You should have compared the Nano90 with the Q70t not the Q90t. That's an unfair comparison.

I own a nano 90 and it's an amazing tv for gaming.the dejutter smooths out 30 fps games and makes them feel like 60 and when you turn off the power savings which is on by default the tv looks even more beautiful.especially if you know how to calibrate your own tv.

@iron deni Qleds are great tv's. The the Q8 and Q9 were amazing. The Q90 doesn't quite match those in black levels because it focused more on off angle viewing. It's still a really great set though. I myself was torn between Qled and Oled in the end I chose Qled because it made more sense in my setup. I have a lot of windows in my living room, play games on it and have kids.
Yes in a fully dark room the Oled having perfect blacks will be superior in that area, but even then with the settings I have on my qled the blacks are stll phenomenal and almost no blooming at all.
Now in a room with a lot of ambient light my Qled will either match or far surpass Oled depending on how much light. Also Qled superior whites and the color is astounding. Lastly I never have to worry about burn in as I have kids and I also fall asleep sometimes for hrs with a static game screen on. It's basically 98% of the performance but none of the weaknesses.
Wrong comparison ! To bring you up to date the Samsung 85" cost is $3600 on Amazon and the LG 86" NANO 91 is less than $2000 in store at Costco with a 4 year warranty. How could you ever compare such a difference in price????

I access this review cause I just bought a NANO from LG. I agree with all things said here, except the very base of comparison. A fair one should be made between LG OLED and Samsung QLED, as both are top of the game, not with NANO witch is middle game for LG

Just picked up a 75" Samsung Q95T last week and very impressed so far- especially with the build and sound quality. I'm not a huge Samsung fan and this is only my 1st Samsung since buying a 50" Samsung DLP a long, long time ago. That was a an excellent tv and had a hack to get into the factory settings to tweak gamma and a few other settings. I am hoping the Q95T will live up to my expectations. I watch mainly RUclips and a lot of 4K movies on disc. I currently have a Sony UBP-X800 4K disc player. To take full advantage of HDR10+ can anyone tell me if I will see any benefit and should buy a Panasonic 4K player with the HDR Optimizer....????
Yeah for video VAs are far better than IPS displays. Though if you're a gamer IPS tends to be better as VA tends to have smearing which looks pretty bad and if you run games at 120hz makes the benefits of 120hz far less noticeable.
I had the 86” Nano90 and tried default, custom and recommended from online settings and no matter what a good amount of content had terrible blooming.
Yes, I tried turning local dimming off as well while trying out multiple settings but with LD off it always looked worse than on, ended up running between Bright / Dark Room Expert settings with LD high most the time.
Sometimes the picture quality would be really nice, especially on bright scenes. However, the blooming issues were very noticeable and so I returned it for the 85” Q90t.
The Samsung Q90t is much much better in my experience at handling blooming and has a great picture quality.
I also have had an OLED for 4 years and Q90t while being great tv is not OLED level of picture quality.

Mine was worse, it had BLB on the top left corner and at the bottom, impossible to watch any HDR content, due to the edge light popping through like a curtain, as the light in the scenes moved around. my mom's 400 euro smart Samsung tv had better picture quality than this trash. Viewing angles, gamma shift, un natural skin tones and unrealistic tint to the image has always made me fundamentally dislike VA panels on TV's and monitors which is a shame because the contrast is much better. Anyone else feel the same? My eyes got used to IPS panels and the color and general look of them. But I do want better blacks and more punchy contrast image. Hard to get both great realistic colors and good blacks and a punchy contrast full image without going to OLED which has it's issues. Price, no smaller sizes, burn in risk, automatic brightness limiter etc.
Get the QLED man. I got one, it's amazing.
Samsung pretty much fixed just about every typical VA issue, and the ones that are present, are extremely minimal.
Yeah that's why I"m sticking with my Vizio QLED IPS TV even though contrast isn't as good as the VA TV next to it!

Nothing comes close to the brightness, black levels and picture the quality of the Sony Z9D from 2016. 4 years later and it's still the King of LED TV's. The Samsung Q9FN from 2018 comes in second place.

Z9G is the real successor of the Z9D, no led come close
The Z9G is the actual replacement as it uses the same Master Backlight Drive having well above 500 zones. The Z9G and the Z9H are both 8K TV'S which we all know are way too early.

Read my review on the 82UN8570 and 86UN8570 on Rtings.com. I think you would be better off with the 82" VA panel over either the nano IPS or qled, and save 1000$ if you don't need VRR for gaming.. I got both from costco as well.

The Samsung seems to crush small bright spots vs the LG blowing out blacks with backlight bleed. Each can look better in their own regards but the Samsung looks better as a whole.
Thank you for the samples, for a few details, I must admit that the overall LG image is better and clearer, does not suffer from a gray screen, has a lower glare and retains color throughout the area, also with the same settings puts more emphasis on detail, LG price / performance ratio is A perfect, recent comparison by OLED LG has shown that Nanocell is an equally quality competitor at a better price! LG is perfect for watching TV at night. The VA panel is already very dark and the details disappear, as well as the color range to the dark color disappears a lot. Samsung's suffering continues: - /, I have had LG products for several generations and LG is perfect for watching TV at home in the evening. I use a satellite VU that has a perfect picture!
I was expecting a Nanocell vs QLED showdown, but it seemed to be a lot about VA vs IPS...
The nano90 and q90t are not even the same class. Proper comparison would be with the q80 or even 70t. Of course the 90t will be much better as far as local dimming, hell the 90t will lead in almost EVERY category. I own both the nano90 and the 80t and there's noticable difference in every category including gaming. Now the nano90 in 4k, hdr pretty darn good and I honestly I don't see the blooming at the levels seen here in this video. With all that said, both of those TV's pretty darn good and both blow away my previous 800 series Sony by miles especially in HDR.
Some people like over saturated vivid image your choice is Samsung. On the other hand LG has more life-like neutral image. Buy what you want

I've had 49nano863 also and the nano90 and they have the same problems. It depends also how you look at them. If you have them on a stand and not mounted to a wall they look very bad. LG planed these TV's to be wall mounted, so that you look at them from a lower position then the lower bezel.

@@DJCOOP1983 Well, if you are gonna use it on PC and stay close to it, in middle, at about 1-2 feet, if you have some icons on the margins of the screen you are gonna notice that some of the text of the icons is missing. I didn't like that either. All LG IPS TV's have that problem, because of the bad screen engineering.

Don't think this is a proper comparison since the Q90T is about at the price range of a CX OLED. That would probably be a better comparison. The Nano90 would be better compared with the Q70T. And if you compare them, the Nano is way better. Tvs should be compared by price ranges, not models.
LG promotes OLED. LE8500 in ancient times had over 200 local dimming zones and it had very deep blacks.
I have never been happy with any ips picture and would always opt for va. Much better overall contrast and picture depth especially in a dark room.
IPS is generally good enough since sets auto-adjusting backlight to ambient but not for that kind of money, ofc.

I've always prefered the more neutral and natural color presentation on LG TVs over the warmer and more saturated color look on SAMSUNG TVs.
However, for all the rest I do prefer SAMSUNG.
If I had to pick one between these two, considering all aspects, it would definitely be the SAMSUNG.

@@circeseye1 Yeah I use an IPS and VA panel TV in dual monitor setup and only notice blacks don't get as black on IPS in pitch black room and when I turn off the 2nd VA monitor. So if you gonna use as 2nd monitor or dual monitor setup like I do not as big an issue as you see in this video since I"m sure the camera also exaggerates the backlight bleed and gray blacks on the IPS TV too.

I saw this blooming on ssmsung qled at a shop. This was the reason I will wait for my OLED.
I have the Q8fn and it looks phenomenal on the standard mode. Unfortunately I cant seem to get the colors right on game mode. Also game mode is great for getting rid of screen tearing when you enable Vsync but then it makes 30fps look choppy. I decided to turn off game mode for the time being until I can get professional calibration.

@@superunknown2812 Yea the nano 86 comes with 2.1 and "Local Dimming" the nano 90 and up comes with "Full Array Dimming".
I wonder if this is the dimming that you said is not very good and should be turned off?

LG 86Nano91 is $2,149.99 vs Samsung 85Q90T is $3,999.99. I don't think the Q90T is worth $1,850 more. Even the Samsung 85Q80T is $3,499.99. $1,350 is still not worth to pay for Samsung QLED vs LG NANO. But if you had a choice between the 86NANO91 $2,149.99 vs 85Q60T $2,199.99, which one would you get? (Not much of a gamer, just stream Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. and maybe some sports.

@Karin Ritter Ok it has no next gen gaming features. But still it has a better picture quality thanks to Va. The Nano lineup is just unusable, because of Ips black levels.

LG Local dimming always off and i never play or watch movies in a dark room. ✌
I am wondering if local dimming is so bad, I might a well get the nano 80 as that is the same, just doesn't have the local dimming feature. Do you notice blooming on your LG?
@@tomatobrush3283 My LG is from 2017 55SJ850V! No blooming at all with LED Local Dimming always off...LG Nano 2020 never try it but i know the Nano 90/91/95 as better contrast than Nano series 8.✌

Yeah there are IPS QLED displays, my gaming monitor is one for example by AO Optronics, would have been more fair comparison of the technologies.
I have the older Samsung q8fn the software/remote is much better than my lg oled c8. That’s the only thing better with the QLED as the DSE is terrible. I can’t even watch hockey as the whites are so uneven and patchy. The LG oled is great for movies and sports. Sometimes the blacks are crushed but I’m much happier with the OLED.

Until they fix burn-in totally I'll stick with QLED
Its impossible to fix oled burns becouse its organic technology. Cant be fixed. IT'S the way how this technology is build
In your LG CX vs Samsung Q90/Q95T comparison the blooming on the Q90/95T looked much worse than in this video. It seems more acceptable when it is compared to the LG Nano 90.
It looked worse because the camera was calibrated for the OLED, I think, and OLED is lower on brightness when compared to Samsung.
Just an update for Samsungs latest 1372.2 update. 4k 120hz is only available trough one connect box. So Q85r, Q90r for Europe and Q80r and Q90r in US.
what do you mean?i have the q90t without one connect box and can play 4k 120 just fine with rtx 3080
@@Cazanu417 2019 qleds I don't think were hdm1 2.1 but the q90r and q80r with the one connect box can do 4k@120HZ im not 100% but 90t is a hdmi 2.1 so can do 4k120
