    Zenology Software VST is like one massive Umbrella VSTi synth that house all patches for all Roland synths.
    You need a DAW host that can run VST 3 to use it. Doesn’t operate as a vst2.
    It’s great. An improving curve for a Roland after a sloppy start into the software VST world. 👍👏👏👏

    Zenology is such a slept on plugin....easily my favorite instrument in the roland cloud other than the 909. Lots of good stuff in there and really easy to find something that works for me.

    the 101 is my favourite bass sound. I call it the butter bass, because it can sound so smooth. Hopefully the Zencore version can replicate that too. The Behringer clone does for sure but it's for a different market (Hardware vs a daw plugin)

    Is it available with the 30 day trial period with roland cloud? I just subscribed for this trial period, and I was able to download the zenology, the juno 106 but I dont find how to download the sh101 and all the other expansions to try. Any advice? Thanks.

    Great add. I own the Ultimate subscription but now there are too many duplicates. All virtual synths models must be integrated in the Zenology container. Also many effects of the previous plugins sound differently in the Zenology container. For example all SRX expansions, JV1080, XV5080, D50 sounds, etc. The Zenology container/database lacks all effects available in the old vsts, chorus and reverbs. Roland, please make less confusion. Probably someone here can confirm that loading a Zenology preset into the Jupiter X the sound has all effects enabled. Probably using only a daw some features aren’t enabled. I suggest Roland to design the perfect midi controller for the Zenology world, a keyboard full of sliders, knobs and buttons without processors, dsps and useless speakers.

    Juno 60 would be nice or kinda modular zencore synth where I have the osc's from Jupiter with the 101 filter and the system 100 envelope's for example, and I can just build your own Frankenstein Roland synth. I think it should be possible with zencore

    • @mikemorrisonmusic
      @mikemorrisonmusic 4 года назад +1

      It's IN Roland Cloud, but you need a Zen-Core Synth (Jupiter X or Fantom) to use it.

    • @sonarfreq
      @sonarfreq 4 года назад +5

      I agree it is confusing. Basically, a few years ago Roland rolled out hardware synths based upon their then new, ACB technology, and then made "plug-out" software synths to go with them, that could be used as a VST in a DAW, or downloaded into the AIRA ACB hardware synths and used there via the synths hardware controls.
      But now they have developed another technology which they are calling "Zen-Core"... and in the same fashion the "Zenology" software synths (as they call them) can be used as a VST, or they can be downloaded into compatible "Zen-Core" hardware synths and used there also.

      @@marcelsmoorenburg It's not really clear what can and can't be done. Do they provide new patches (other than the ones already in the MC's) with the regular Zenology and can you load them into the MC hardware, or do you need the Pro version to do that? I'm not really interested in the VST part of Zenology, rather the ability to load up new sounds into the hardware, and (Pro) the possibility to edit patches un again to load them into the hardware.

    Roland, some friendly advice here... you need to stop saying things are available for zen core hardware when IT IS NOT actually available. You've been doing that for months. Cut it out, wait til it's actually ready, and then announce it. I've been interested in these, but I swear if one more time you tell me something is ready and it's not and I'll never look at your stuff again. Take your time, do it right, and quit trying to tease something that doesn't exist.

      Roland Cloud manager mentions this for both the JX-8P and SH-101 model expansion:
      "Software. Hardware. Anywhere.

      Model Expansions work in your DAW via ZENOLOGY-and will soon enhance compatible Roland ZEN-Core hardware. So whether you're in the studio, on stage, or on the go, your favorite sounds are ready when you are.
      "
      Would be good to have a rough ETA for Fantom.

    • @ChristopherOrth
      @ChristopherOrth 3 года назад

      Looks like if you sign into the cloud thing, you can buy the first two expansions and push them to the hardware. Unit.E did a vid on how this works.
      ruclips.net/video/c0e-cnLl6aE/видео.html
      But if Roland actually wants any users to do this, they should act like it and make this info clear! It's like the marketers think we are all already using their cloud service and somehow buying and using everything as it's released. But... I bought hardware to NOT be on their cloud subscription.

    • @JL-yh1lm
      @JL-yh1lm 3 года назад

      @@ChristopherOrth Yes, did that for the sound packs and works well. I'm hoping that the SH-101 and JX-8P model expansions will also be available like that. I don't mind paying a few dollars for those, and agree with you that any form of subscription is a deal breaker when you've already invested in hardware.

    Wow these Zen emulations are horrible, even compared to the previous Cloud versions. It's like NI Reaktor synths, they all sound like they're coming out of Reaktor, these all sound like they're coming out of Zen. Something is missing compared to the previous cloud versions. I guess this is to be expected from Roland, they always need to muck it up a bit after they get it right.

  • @WARDISWARD

    Again an inferior emulation compared to the cloud acb model
    Again a missing feature because the zen core architecture is not able to deliver , namely filter freq modulation by noise

    Is it just me because it seems like all y'alls equipment is hard to work with. You almost have to be a flat-out musician to f*** with y'alls equipment. Akai you don't have to be a musician you more or less have to have a great imagination and be able to count measures. I own the MV-8800 and y'alls Dr. series drum machines are epic peices of equipment. The inner city, neighborhood kids, minorities is what's making this hip-hop music and it's R&B music and most of them are not musicians...

      bruh come on now these instruments are made for musicians. If you make music you're a musician. It doesn't matter if you go to school or not for it. Im black from New Orleans and the best musicians I know came straight out of the hood. Having access to this type of equipment is what pushes people to become better musicians. With this cloud people can have access to thousands of dollars of equipment for a fraction of the price
