I'm a straight male, and both my parents are straight, but when I was in high school (around 2010) my mom asked if I had a girlfriend and she'd also ask if I had a boyfriend. Back then I though it was a dumb thing to ask, but in retrospect she's a great mother.

Some people literally have tried that and gotten shut down by the alphabet Mafia side of the community. And before you go saying I'm one of those hateful christians, I cannot stand the bible, I would burn it on a daily if I could, and I'm bi.
Guy doesn't need to say what if, there are hypocrites in both communities. I seen it. I've seen it on tiktok, twitter, ready, pretty much the exact same platforms you will find the anti gays. Just on the other side of the platform.
You literally do not have to look for to find it unless you're purposely trying to only get into confirmation bias type videos.
The bad apples within this community have already been doing a lot of the exact same shit. Which is why I personally don't interact with the community at all. We don't need auntie gay people to rip this community apart because it already does itself.
I literally passed on posts and videos hated on straight people and thinking they should be wiped away from existence. From the same people who apparently don't know how reproduction works.
If somebody tries to do straight pride on twitter, they're harassed by the alphabet mafia. If they try to do a literal pride fest, they get harassed by the alphabet mafia. Even if they're doing it as far away from them as possible. And not you know intervening with their events.
There is no what if. Both sides have been hypocrites the whole time.

You know if children are old enough to know they're straight and cisgender, they should be old enough to know if they aren't.
That’s why I think the best time to discuss the fact that there is more than one type of sexuality is when they’re in middle school, because that’s the first time sex in general is mentioned. I think if we really want progression for our children, I think all of that should be taught in sex ed amongst middle schoolers, instead of teaching hetero normative sex, they could just talk about the biological part but then make sure to assure the kids that it’s completely OK I’m normal for them to not be sexually attracted to the opposite gender or that it’s OK to be sexually attracted to both or more

If I were to deny a straight person their basic human dignity for having romantic or sexual attraction. If I asulted a Cis man for wearing a tux. If I told a pastor to stop sinning and that they're going to hell for being themselves. If I stole thousands of dollars from a cis-het student then expelled them from college for daring to be themselves. I'm the monster yet it's okay when any of that happens to me.
Okay, coming from a bisexual guy, what rock have some of you people been living under? There is a side of the community that does this shit. All of it. ALL OF IT! There is no what if. This is not a fucking fantasy this is real life. They do do that shit.
And before you say they're only doing it because they've gotten it first, that doesn't make it right. That doesn't make it any better.

I see this shit all the fucking time on tiktok and twitter. I swear I purposely try to avoid it and get it out of my algorithm and it keeps showing up every goddamn time.
I stay away from the community because of this shit. Now I will still obviously communicate with certain individuals. Or reply to certain comments such as yours. But that's as far as I will go interacting with the community. Otherwise I have no part in it and want no part in it.
and just be clear, I want everybody to be able to live exactly as they are. To be treated as a human being as any other person will. Everybody says fucking normal. Let's just leave it at fucking that.
But there is no playing games of what if. The tables have already been turning and people already do this shit. Anytime I've tried speaking against it, I'm told I'm a traitor to the community or I'm not actually gay or bisexual I'm just pretending.
So for those reasons I stay the fuck away from the community. I want nothing to do with it. It literally acts as some people say. As the alphabet mafia. Obviously this isn't the entire community. But as I did say in a comment before this reply, these people are allowed and don't know when to shut the fuck up. Anymore than the anti gays.
And of course the antes are in the wrong. They always have been. I can't stand their asses trying to shove their religion into everybody else's life. But there is no what if. You're just lucky enough to not see that side of the community. I've seen the loving side of the community, and I've seen the hateful side of the community which are exactly like the antis but Gay. From one extreme end of spectrum all the way to the other.
These people already do exist, you just haven't seen them and trust me, they're not worth the interaction. And just to be clear, I'm not trying to convince you to not be part of the community anymore either. I just don't like to interact with communities in general because it feels like no matter what community are you doing into whether it be a fan base of a genre or certain Media or Siri or type of people or my people, I always end up interacting with the rotten apples. Whereas the rest of the silent majority are just silence. Yes that's not always actually the case. But the bad apples are easier to find than the silent majority. Because they're silent.
So I just try to avoid any communities in general. They all go to shit and they all have their hypocrites. If you're kicked me on the good side of the community, then that's great. Enjoy yourself.
But believe me when I say, the right inside of the community absolutely exists. Just because you haven't met them doesn't mean they don't. And they're just as a rotten as the antis.

Unfortunately, this is the case. Which is why I am so grateful for this channel providing us with a proper safe space and banning the offenders. I was specifically referring to news coverage from when Ellen came out in 1997 (which really wasn't that long ago in the grand scheme of things). I follow another channel that covered the event. A man can be seen making a similar comment. I generally find it easier to ignore these days as these types of people don't really get airtime anymore, at least where I live.

To add to the suicide example: if, after driving straight people to suicide, we claimed that they committed suicide because they couldn't take being straight anymore, that suicide is the inevitable outcome of being straight, and that the bullying is actually an attempt to save their lives by making them give up the straight deathstyle, they would freak out.

I think they would likely just laugh, because 'being straight' is not a predictor of suicide (altho failed relationships - even 'hetero' ones - can be a 'contributing factor'). Trying to 'reverse' all the rhetoric is not going to prove anything, in the long run.

I just want to point out, I went to a bible study on Wednesday, and in her definition of sin, it said that anything done against God or another person is sin. Even if they believe that being homosexual or transgender is wrong, which it isn't, a lot of them would be sinning with the constant harassment to our community for existing. It's very hypocritical to say love your neighbor, but turn on that same neighbor without second thought if they aren't your definition of normal. I'm a Christian, and I have noticed these patterns
One of the Christian people I've talked to justifies it by saying 'we hate the sin, love the sinner. They're just possessed by evil spirits and I won't support that.'

I live in a small town in Canada and since the beginning of June a pastor where I live has been spray painting crosses over all over the pride signage downtown and has since put up a bunch of homophobic signage on his property. But it can’t be taken down cause it’s “freedom of speech”. I drove by his house last week, took a picture of the homophobia displayed on his property and now he has it in his windows instead of on his front lawn… he also lives right behind the high school where I live. My biggest fear is that this will still be up in September when school starts. No child should have to see that walking to and from school!

that really sucks, I'm actually heading to a new school myself and I had to meet the kids, whilst the school is supportive of LGBTQ+ the kids seemed to really disagree, luckily nobody there knows my name, so if I tell them my name and exclude the dead name, they will never know and think thats my actual name XD apparently they were offended that people were changing their name, so I have decided to simply remain nameless, simple enough for me! Although my neighbors aren't that supportive of LGBTQ+ and often glare at me for not wearing clothing corresponding with my birth gender through their windows or garage. So on pride month I made a toy dragon and knocked on their doors and when they opened it the dragon just threw a pride flag at them and I said: HAPPY PRIDE! and then got out of there XD I have actually made a lot of custom LGBTQ+ clothing for myself to wear to school, sadly I think they might not be the best idea to wear, but at this point I say screw it, I am going to be going to school like that every single day and on pride month I am bringing the dragon to school, if anyone tries to call me a slur, I will just have the dragon throw a pride flag at their face. I would probably try to spray paint that pastor's house with LGBTQ+ positive things but of course I would probably be arrested for that.

If we treated straight people existing as an inherently adult subject too sexual for polite conversation. If the first thing we think about when we find out someone is straight is them and their partner in bed. If we put cis people in the wrong prisons. If we portrayed sexual assault as a "cure" for heterosexuality in our media. If we told cishets "it's just a phase". Etc etc etc

You may be referring to what is called 'corrective rape', which is when men force themselves on a lesbian to try and 'convert' her. This is not condoned by the media, and never has been. It's actually illegal. Also, how you can put gay folks in 'the wrong prisons'? If you are referring to 'trans' folks, that is a more complicated situation. There has been at least one instance of an allegedly 'trans' person with male organs impregnating women inmates after being put in the womens facility. Don't think a women's prison is a place where ANY impregnating should happen, don't you agree?

I mean, straight people do tend to sexualize children (especially young boys) an unhealthy amount. Child beauty pageants, calling a 5 year old boy's classmate his "girlfriend" after the boy just says hi to the girl, and that's not even going into everything that gets printed on baby clothes.

@@zombusshankus9589 then stop associating with them yourself. the label Christian carries a weight, and if the dominant narrative of that weight is negative, then it is on you to either change that narrative of to distance yourself from the label.
If their God commands them to hate, and you claim to worship the same God, then something is wrong. Most of Christianity's history is that of hate and violence, therefore you are the one out of step. To change this would be, in effect, fundamentally change God, or at least how God is perceived. Killing an idea like that is no easy feat.
For my part, the very soul of Christianity was poisoned long ago, at least as far back as Constatine, when Christianity burned the places of learning and cast down the schools of philosophy.

I've come out as demisexual to my parents, but I know coming out to other members of my family would be hard. I've heard comments about demisexuals like "Oh, you're just being picky" or "isn't that how all relationships work?" or "You just haven't found the right person yet". Nearly everyone on my mom's side of the family has gotten divorced and remarried at least once, and you're talking about how _I_ haven't found the right person?
I mean, tbf, Demisexual is like not finding the right person aka forming tight bonds and starting to develop attraction towards them lol. Although those other comments are bunch of bs. “Oh you’re just being normal”, like yes, Demisexual is normal, there’s nothing wrong with it…
@@panzerinvictus Demisexual is a sexuality along the asexual spectrum. It’s where you don’t find attraction until you form a bond, a connection with someone, then you start to have attraction towards that person.

Many of them claim to have been traumatized by their experiences. And lobotomies are far less common now that in the past. they were never done in the name of 'religious freedom', they were done to patients with extreme mental conditions.

I was having a "peaceful" discussion with someone in a comment section and what they said was absolutely ridiculous. They said "If it's okay to be gay, then it's okay to be homophobic", like wtf?
They not hypocrites. They simply don't see us as human. There is no reasoning with someone who thinks like that because anything we say will automatically be ignored because our percieved inhumanity makes us not worth listening to. I can see why this video can be important for younger people who need to feel a sense of control over their oppression, but as a Black Trans person, reasoning with people that hate you has never gotten anyone freedom.

I think the cause of homophobia in Christian’s comes from a line that was something along the lines of “men cannot sleep with other men the way they would with a woman” which is often regarded as a intentional mistranslation of “a man cannot sleep with a boy as he would with a woman”. Filipinos (only homophobic Filipinos), they say the respected the LGBTQ, and love God (Jesus)

I think what they mean is that they have to have someone else decide it for you. Your parents, a doctor, a neighbor, other kids at the school. You can only decide other peoples genders until you're 18, which is when you can decide yours too. Like you can tell your friend to change genders in the middle of grade 6, but nope, you have to wait until you're 18 to decide anything about yours.
