  • Watch Tamer Elbaga and Bryan Hoffman test the Storm Phaze III with a change in surface. In this video, we "crack" the factory shine to smooth it out and see how it reacts. Also quick comparison to the Phaze II.

I have to say, I also used a worn 2000 on this ball today, as I was having some over/ under with the factory surface. Once I did it, the ball just opened up the lane for me. I’m really only getting about maybe 4 boards of area I can use it on, but the look i get in that area is pretty nasty. Ball was over hooking after about a game but after a 2-1 in transition, this thing just came alive. If y’all didn’t know, this ball is STRONG, and I still see a nice move in the mids for a piece which was supposed to delay reaction a bit. With surface, it actually rolled like a hybrid ball. Still clean, but much more continuous. That said, I still 8 pinned more than a couple of times in the set i threw today. But I’d rather have hook that the ball generates and just make a move off that instead of having to hit it to make it move. So I’m pleased with it. I even think I might be able to roll it on sport after the look I saw today. :)

Great video and you hit the head on the nail on what I was thinking after watching a bunch of motion videos on this ball.

I have two games on mine and was thinking I needed to try the same thing. It's too violent too late out of the box for me. Thanks for the video, helps to reiterate that my instincts were likely correct.

I'm going to the USBC this year first time what would be a good ball or balls to take. I got a hyper cell fuzed a phaze 2 and sure lock and finally ripped pearl.

Brian Harrold what category are you bowling in? Do you bowl any sport shots ever?

Weird I saw same thing Brian did here with the intense fire cuz when I hit the ball with a 4000 pad it softened the reaction all around and it’s the only ball I’ve seen do that ,and it obviously has the same cover , code black didn’t look good with surface either actually

CleSwag24 actually I saw the same on the intense fire hence my reluctance to put more surface than I did. The difference is the p3 is way more angular out of box so reaction was still ok with some surface to slow it down.

Hi Tamer, i just want to ask if you think the Phaze III has a space in my arsenal. Here's what i have: Gravity Evolve, Idol, Code Black, Soniq, Torrent, All Out Show Off and Pitch Black. If it has an overlap, which ball should i remove to givespace to the Phaze III? Thanks.

Could you tell me the difference between phaze 3 and hyper cell fused

Phaze III is more of that skid/flip type reaction. Late and very hard off the spot. Fused is earlier. Earlier roll and if you put surface on it, it really is a heavy oil control reaction.

NeoooooGaming for me it is pretty different. This will be longer and more angular than those.

So I'm looking to replace my snap lock, what ball do you think would be good to take it's spot?

President 2040 I know this isn’t an asym but still a heavy rolling shiny piece. There isn’t a direct replacement but this is pretty close.
