I use the Storm IQ Tour Emerald ball as my benchmark ball. I plan getting the Storm Highroad X with my Christmas $. Good review guys!

@Bowling Knightz Garage Shop - Need help with building a three -six ball bag for all options (house/tourny). Instructor is unavailable at this time. Just got to the point where he wanted me to pick up more balls than the learner ball. Since the options are overwhelming I picked Storm, Motiv, and 900 Global as the brands to knock down some of the clutter. Also made in America seems to be a good arbitrary dividing line, because otherwise I'm looking at dozens of brands and hundreds of nearly identical balls with small tweaks that don't mean anything to me. I would have your thoughts on Motiv Forge (up), Rogue Assassin (benchmark), Venom Recoil (down), with the Gravity Evolve and Pro Motion thrown in the mix? I found I realllly like symmetrical solids, but I understand the purpose of pearls and a-syms. Am I being overly redundant, and where are my overlaps? And why? I currently have the BW Gold and Pro-Motion, and my instructor had ordered the Gravity Evolve before being mob'd to the sandbox. The BW Gold is a heavily used and re-drilled trainer ball that was handed down, though I can still do good things with it. And the Pro-Motion is my favorite ball of the two, but I'm finding it either wants the first game or the last game, but not all three. I want to begin my bag, and thought I'd start fresh and build it right the first time (would also like to make the balls last a while since this kind of money was saved up all year for this purpose). Stats: RH bowler, PAP = 4 3/4 over 1 5/8 up, speed is 14-15 mph, with a Rev of 130.
I'm open to options, and I already have a good spare ball (I just didn't mention it in my line up since its a spare ball and they're all the same).
Ask Orbitalrescuesage look up Luke Rosdahl.. he just finished up a series that covers this but only for storm and roto (staffer)
Drill the P3 pin up for a better reaction.

Bowled for over 20 years at Emerald Lanes in Eugene, Oregon. Havn't bowled now for over 10 years. Gonna get back into it. Retired a couple months ago. Debating between the Phaze 3 and the UFO. Your thoughts?

How does this compare to the black widow pink? I have a gb3 and want something longer
I never threw the Pink personally but I did have the original GB3 and this one definitely got down the lane better for me. I've been throwing it for a couple weeks now and it's one I'd definitely recommend.

How does the phaze lll compare to the All-Road and GB3 Black and Blue? I'm really considering either of those three to fill the third slot in my arsenal.
@bowlingknightsgarageshop are you selling some of the bowling balls behind you? I'm interested in the hammer 3d hi rev offset. How much would you let it go for?
I had to subscribe this group, one, i like the legit, raw emotion. You guys are funny but, honest about the ball and i bowl league as well and i'm constantly looking to get better and looking for new equipment. Thanks for the review, i was skeptical about this ball but, i think i'll get it sometime in January and try it out. Thanks again!

Interesting when you straighten out your angle your carry considerably increased. The deflection and loss of energy through the pins when you opened up your angles is why I stopped throwing STORM.
It definitely helped on this night! I haven't owned a lot of the newer Storm equipment so I can't speak to whether it's an issue with the brand as a whole or not. However, I've had the same issue with other brands I have thrown. I think it's more about the Bowler, than the balls.

Lack of carry until he straightened up his angles may be because of the pin down layout.
Whatever happened to you doing the Gravity Evolve review?
Right before the Gravity Evolve came in I got ahold of the Paradox Red so I punched that one instead. I really like that ball and I've been throwing it quite a bit and scoring well so there was really no need for me to drill anything else at that point.
I still have the Evolve and liked the way it rolled when I got to throw it for Demo Knightz. I haven't decided if I want to punch it or move it along for something else yet though. I was gonna let one of the other Knightz drill it for an episode of ILBR but they all throw 15lb where I'm at 14lb because of my wrist issues.
So at this point the Gravity Evolve is in limbo.. 😂

Nice 278 now stay off my line 🤣 that’s ball looks great. I wasn’t a fan of the snap lock either I actually gave it away to my son with only 2 games on it.
😂 That work I put in moving right this summer paid off last night with a 3rd game couples win! The Snap Lock was too much ball for me. I only threw it a handful of games as well. Hope your son liked it though!

Bowling Knightz Garage Shop Snap lock has been my main ball for the three years I’ve been bowling. My other is a Columbia 300 tyrant, but it gets unpredictable for me about mid game two.
If I am used to the snap lock, how would the Phase III treat me ?

I've really been struggling with this ball finishing. I can hit the pocket pure and leave a 9 pin. Next shot a 4, then a 4-6, then a ringing 10. Pretty disappointing considering I can shoot 240 with a ball that is 17 years old.

Bowling Knightz Garage Shop interesting. reason i ask is because my current ball has been pretty much destroyed lol, so i’m looking for a new one. i was looking at the Phaze 3, Crux prime, and the gravity evolve. although the phaze 3 would be my first choice, i need a ball ASAP rather than waiting until 12/13 for it to ship

Bowling Knightz Garage Shop don’t laugh at me, but i was gifted a storm marvel S....it wasn’t used extensively tho and the roll it had wasn’t bad at all. i’m not a super experienced bowler but i’ve started to get into the sport, so i’m still trying to get pointed in the right direction when it comes to ball purchase. the Phaze 3 just caught my eye and it seems to fit my style more from the looks of it

Pin down symmetrical = 10 pins. Throw a weight hole in it and plug it next year.

First game ball was way too weak on the fresh. Needed more midlane. Those symmetrical balls need friction
We had quite a bit more volume last night compared to normal. Not sure why. There's no question I would have benefited from having something a little stronger the first game.

Got locked in that last game brother! You get that carry down you just keep grinding. Bowlers are too quick to change balls sometimes it seems like to me. Knew I'd find it eventually, just wish it would have been a few frames earlier!

Heh, you wouldn't switch balls if you're reviewing it, though there was a switch from the Covert Tank in its video. People do bring 8-12 balls to a tourney when they need maybe 3-4, and at least 3X as many distinct balls are released as need to be, since people can be convinced into buying easily.
We've switched balls in the middle of a review several times and we have no problem doing that.
When I know I've got a quality piece in my hands, that's rolling good for me, I'm more apt to hang with it than change. If the ball reaction was bad I would have grabbed something different in a heartbeat but I felt there was nothing else in my bag that would have faired any better.
I made a move 3rd game, got locked in with it and ended up winning third game couples. Would I have scored better the first game with a different ball? Possibly. But I knew once I found it with this ball, out of everything else in my bag, it would give me the best chance to put up a game.

Cooper Gates and yes. There are waaaay too many balls being released nowadays. Way too many!
We used to get excited when I new ball would be announced. It was the anticipation. There weren't staffers everywhere throwing everything a month before we could even buy it. If you wanted to see it you watched the PBA Tour and hoped one of the pros was throwing it.
Nowadays, I've seen companies promote a new batch of balls before the batch they were promoting last month have even been released to the public. As a consumer, it's like, you just told us how great those balls were but now there's three more?
That's where we come in. We can't review everything. It's impossible. We pick balls we think we're going to like and want to keep in our bags just like you do. I've asked several manufacturers to send us certain balls to review, because I want to throw it. I don't ask for everything and if they don't send it, we just buy it anyways.
I certainly wish they would go back to quality over quantity but I doesn't seem like that's going to happen anytime soon.
