Yeah.. even if they are the same person at core since they are embodiment of Irminsul, Rukhadevata created Kusanali/Nahida from the very same source as hers. So I call their relationship as mother and daughter, or sisters and without any issue. They love each other. The fact that their first and last meeting is ended with hug, make things more sad

Who came back after Masquerade of the Guilty (Fontaine Act 5). Both these quests were amazing in their own ways! And both made me cry like a waterfall!
Bro really I came back to see this cutscene again. After watching focalors farewell to neuvilette. These two lines "Goodbye people of sumeru may you be blessed tonight with the sweetest of dreams" and "I hope you have enjoyed the part you played this five hundred years" are really icons c❤️
@@editzomega420 Same here. As soon as I saw that cutscene, I had to come back to this. Also coincidentally both uses a specific ost from their respective regions which we usually hear when traveling in said regions for the Cutscenes. For sumeru it was "For Riddles for Wonders", and for Fontaine its a custom cover of the main "Fontaine" Track and "Le Souvenir avec le crepuscule"
The trope of someone being forgotten and wiped out from history is such a tearjerker for me. Just imagine the rush of emotions you feel, Annoyance that there is something missing, Anger that you couldn't change the outcome and the Sadness of losing someone important to you, all flowing into you at the same time. And the last nail in the coffin is when the character asks "why am I crying?"

This scene makes Zhongli's line about the Traveler being an eternal record of Teyvat all the more meaningful, he's the only one in the whole world who will still remember her, so at least she's not completely gone.
@@johnhague3372She might not, its said at the end of the quest that the sibling is somehow a part of Teyvat. ((S)hes in the memory of the world Irminsul tree, while you're not as the MC) So the sibling will not remember most likely since we can remember since we're not part of Teyvat. But we'll see how it plays out anyway
We find out there are 3 other "descenders". So THEY are likely to remember Rukkhadetata as well. Edit: That's assuming they heard/read/learned about her at some point. But we don't know, 100% sure, if they did or not
@@Lion632Tanks you know, there's an old theory I read somewhere that both siblings Travelers are wandering Teyvat at the same time but in parallel timelines. I always liked that theory cuz it explains how can both siblings be "Canon". And now with Sumeru and all that stuff about Samsaras, life cycles and whatnot, it seems highly likely. With that in mind, there's a possibility that the abyss twin is not the Traveler's real sibling.
I actually shed tears when I first watch this. To think that Nahida has to erase Rukkhadevata's existence with her own hand is so heartbreaking to see.
I love how there is no dramatic and magnificent chorus in this scene, just sweet calming theme of Sumeru that puts its people in a greatest dreams of all time
She was probably one of the purest archons/people we've seen so far, an amazing friend to King Deshret, sacrificing all her power to help him fix his mistake and a great archon to the people, loving and even willing to let them forget all the amazing things she's done for them just so they can live better lives. That's a true archon, loved her and I'm glad atleast the traveler can remember her 😪
Also Zhongli, cause even after this quest, it shows only 2 archons are presently ruling their countries, so can this be an indication that Zhongli is the 3rd of the 4 Descenders in teyvat? Cause his memories didn't change even after this quest and he helped traveller see all this cause he knew he would also die someday and traveler will be the only person in all universes to carry memories of Teyvat even after everyone's death including Zhonglis death
Like before this quest it was showed in Zhongli profile "2 original archons rule thier nations " and after sumeru quest it should have been "3" saying Venti, Zhongli and Nahida, but he somehow knows that he and oly Venti are the only remaining original archons even after Nadiha erased Rukkadevata from everyone's memory in Teyvat
@@ReniqueHD Ei isn't the "original" archon of Inazuma though, since that was Makoto. The point is that it should be 3 since if Zhongli doesn't remember Rukkhadevata, he would think Nahida is the original archon of Sumeru, whereas it used to be 2 since Nahida isn't actually the original archon
@@redshiftedlight205 idk it said that Ei and her sister were both the archon together and the people thought they were one person no? So technically she is the original archon Anyways you could be right im a little rusty on the lore
Sumeru is so blessed to have one of the most gentle and caring archons. Rukkhadevata protected and guided them for thousands of years, willing to exhaust all her power for the people of sumeru and willing to be forgotten to save the world. And then we have nahida, she's young but she already showed so much potential to grow up like Rukkhadevata, or even better. People of Sumeru should love and treasure their archons more💗
Sumeru was blessed by two gods; one who never gave up on and loved its people despite being held in captivity for centuries, the other who loved her people so much she was willing to be forgotten and erased completely from existence for their sake.
There goes the best archon we've met so far, she did not only saved the people of Sumeru from the forbidden knowledge, she saved all of Teyvat protecting the Irminsul and sacrificing her own self and consciousness for 500 years to halt the infection until her "branch" was ready to "delete" her from existence. Not only did she saved the whole Teyvat, she did it knowing no one would remember her or her sacrifice, kindness in it's most purest form. Rest in peace Rukkhadevata.

OST used is "Ethereal Mildness"(Piano half) and "For Riddles, For Wonders"(Sitar+Flute half). Also, peak emotional damage, the writers nailed it with sumeru. We'll always remember you, Rukkhadevata ; - ;
I'm 37 years old and I play many games, but ever since I play Genshin, its scenes are spectacular, but this is the best, I've never been so moved by a scene that made me cry.
Ikr … and I’m an older gamer too, retired and seen a lot of unpleasant things in my life but a good story with memorable characters will invoke an emotional response like this Archon story did … my daughter gets a kick out of her old dad crying at a video game but I don’t care … it was that darn good 😌
hey, I'm 1 month from turning 42 and Genshin is a blast to play. Having gamed since the age of 8, I'm a sucker for good stories and gameplay, so it's a no-brainer. and this archon quest is simply the best one so far, hands down.
37 here too and this game made me cry more times that most of my whole game's collection put all together. I play games since I was 5 and the art design, script and how they manage to make characters feel alive and with charisma, even while being a simple NPC with its little story to tell, is something that no other games can achieve. You really engage with the characters and the story, and you remember them all. I tried a new game the other day which was in closed Beta...gameplay was good but it felt so empty, 0 charisma, 0 soul...suffice to say I deleted it and I will pretend it will never existed.
Yup, I am also in my mid 30s and in the more than three decades since my old man gave me an Snes in 1991 I can perhaps name three or four other games that had given me the same quality of emotions this game has.
In many cultures, a commonly held belief is that as long as one person remembers your name, remembers your face, remembers your actions, you never truly die. As long as The Traveler remembers Rukkhadevata, she will always live.
She's an archon who didn't just save her people but the whole world So i hope everyone in teyvat will someday remember about the most wisest and the most kindest archon "rukkhadevata"
Unfortunately, only the traveler will remember her, since he is from another world, everyone in Teyva except for him will never know who he was, since his existence was completely erased.
I think in terms of being an actual God, Rukkhadevata comes closest to it by a long shot. Yeah the other Archons were almighty and powerful, but Rukkhadevata literally did more for all of Teyvat and any Archon we've seen so far, and she had a lot more to her than just power.
Unlike those 3 tho, no one remembers her, not any archon, not any of her followers, not a single living being that was born in teyvat, the only one who remembers her is traveler and possibly 3 other people.
I am a 36-year-old adult, lawyer and businessman, but genshin has accompanied me these last two years of my life through good and bad, and I can only say that that final scene makes me see how sometimes we just have to know how to say goodbye. I love it
@@FireBlueZ dain interlude archon quest is coming in an upcoming version i think. With a mega lore bomb sumeru gave i am so excited to see abyss sibling and dain.
This is probably the greatest sacrifice one can make. You can die and save the world but your soul will remain, but Rukhadevata not only die, she also delete her own existence to save the whole Teyvat. I have never been so emotional before while playing Genshin Impact. 💔
We won the war againts the sage, and we also finally cured the Imirsul tree, but at what cost? We might as well say we lose when we can't keep Rukhadevata existence.
It does hurt me as well, the people of Sumeru loved her so much, and now they can't even remember her... In other circumstances, one could at least remember, and let the person live in memories, but she doesn't even get that the wound in deep.
The most heartbreaking and heartwarming part is when rukkhadevata holds nahidas teary face and hugs her knowing how difficult it is for nahida to erase someone who she is part of and literally given birth to her. Then comes rukkhadevata's peaceful smile before disappearing knowing nahida will be allright and she can leave irminsul to her hands while nahida tries to hold on to her tighter fearing whats coming next. The music just perfectly hits hard on all aspects beautifully in a meloncholic manner. I never thought i could tear up this hard in genshin, nahidas precious teary face just made it even worse for me.
@@yrahman She's wiped out entirely from all the ley lines of Teyvat. Everyone who is from the world of Teyvat was affected by this, thus, only the ones who aren't from this world remember her.
The voice acting is incredebile...if you listen carefully you can hear that Rukkhadevatas voice starts shaking at the point when she is saying "Goodbye people of sumeru..." 💚
The fact that people remember King Deshret, who brought this plight in the first place and no one will remember the sacrifice of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata who saved not only Sumeru, but whole Teyvat is more heartbreaking....
Yet ironically as well, the King begged his people to forgive Rukkhadevata and to acknowledge her hand in their existence. Such a shame that that message never made it to the people for the longest time.
the forbidden knowledge brought by King deshret isnt the one that forced Rukkadevata to sacrifice herself. She was corrupted after the cataclysm, due to the khan'riahn disaster, not king deshret bringing forbidden knowledge
@@pyrite2060 but we know tha Rukkhadevata lost her power and got the child-form after disaster brought by King deshret. So it's happened at Nahida's bursday - 500 yers ago, after Khan'riahn disaster.
"Goodbye, people of sumeru" Still tearing up everytime I hear this line😭😭😭😭 I watch this video more than six time already... Always fail to hold back tears everytime that line came in
This scene made me shed tears so bad. Sacrificing not only your life, but your very memory to the people who know and love you just to be erased from history to protect them is the greatest self sacrifice there is. Genshin's writing is so good, i doesnt feel like some gacha game plot but an actual experience and life lesson. Thank you Mihoyo for an amazing archon quest.
Most gacha games are like this. They focus on the story rather the gameplay. It's quite a feat that Genshin manage to balance between story and gameplay and make it f2p. I'm actually impressed by the fact it's not a full fledged game. And by that I mean, that instead of a gacha it could be a finished project that you actually had to pay for it.
Well i already know how good they are when writing story in honkai so no doubt for genshin but just a little too slow but well it is planned to be slow af
For those still confused about Rukkhadevata and Kusanali connection after 3.2 Archon Quest. Imagine a Rose plant, suppose the plant is dying or corrupted, you simply take out a healthy rose branch/stem and then place it in another pot where it grows into a healthy plant again. Now it wouldn't matter even if the original plant died, since the cut off branch will still live on independently.
I think a better comparison is an apple,if you plant an apple, the new apple from the new tree isnt the same as the old one,yet they share similarities.
@@toffee_todd if you use planting an apple analogy, that's just an offspring, like how parent and children share similarities but not the same, and nahida is not rukkha's child. The og comment analogy is more suitable since you can take and plant the branch, and the branch can grow into a new tree, but both are basically still the same plant.
@@toffee_todd OP's analogy makes more sense when you consider the dialogue. Rukkhadevata mentioned that she and Kusanali come from the same source (Irminsul). However as Rukkhadevata is the avatar of Irminsul and represents the whole tree, Kusanali came from the branch of the tree. So both archons came from the tree, but are different people entirely because of their own experiences and knowledge.
As Zhong Li said, we shall be the one who unearth all the buried mysteries and stories, and witness all of them, remembering, and bring all the stories into the next world.
It takes a lot to make my cry, but this cutscene did it for me. I also cried a little when Ei was talking about how she wept while cradling her dying sister in her arms, but this is one cutscene that will stay with me forever. Now, the music that plays sometimes in Sumeru City will always remind me of this cutscene, and I'll start tearing up again. And it's because of the immense sacrifice that Nahida made for Sumeru, Teyvat, and the world as a whole, that I put down quite a bit of money to not only get her, but also her weapon. I've never pulled on the weapons banner until now, someone like her deserves her signature weapon, and not just a cheap 4-star one. She had that much of an effect on me. Simply put, Nahida is the best Archon in the game. I doubt any of the other Archons--even the ones for Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya, whom we haven't met yet--would hold a candle to Nahida. Her kindness, benevolence, wisdom, and humility have touched even my stone-cold heart, and thus she is now my favorite Archon.
Makes sense. I did the exact same and luckily got her signature weapon against all odds. Never in my life did I whale for a character/weapon, nor will I ever do it again. But Nahida is so precious, she just deserved it.
@@lowliethxd1471 Coming a few months late, but my theory is that the Tsaritsa is actually being manipulated by a Rasputin-like character affiliated with the Abyss Order, disguising himself as a trusted advisor. After all, their goals appear to be similar: defy Celestia and overthrow the Heavenly Principles. My guess is he is trying to manipulate the Tsaritsa to obtain the Gnoses of the other Archons, and the Fatui, being loyal to the Tsaritsa, do not know she is being manipulated. Then comes the Traveler, who breaks the Tsaritsa free of her puppet master, which causes the advisor to steal all the Gnoses, including the Tsaritsa's, becoming a great monster in the process. The Traveler defeats the monster, acquires the Gnoses, becomes an almighty being akin to that of a god, and then journeys to the ruins of Khaenri'ah to take the fight to the Abyss Order and their sibling, aided by the Seven Nations of Teyvat.
The storytelling in Genshin continues to improve and play with our emotions more each time. Change is inevitable, even to greater power of gods, Nahida may be inexperienced as of now, but we know she has what it takes to be the new Greater Lord.
As much as I loved Fontaine’s finale, I’ve always wondered why Rhukkadevata’s story made me cry more. After some thought, I think it’s the fact that at least Focalors and Furina were remembered and (at least to some) celebrated while Rhukka, with her endless love for Sumeru, basically sacrificed her own existence to save the people who would never be able to remember their archon, guide, and mother. Makes me wonder why we couldn’t come up with a fable for Nahida to remember her “mom” by.
Except no one knows what Focalors and Furina did. The only ones who know are Neuvi, the Traveler, Paimon, Furina, (Skirk to some extent) and apparently Dain, the Abyss Sibling and the other Archons. So not a whole lot of people. Quite a few people in Fontaine even blame Furina for her "inaction", like the people from Poisson. None of them know she was sacrificing and suffering for their sake and she never went to tell anyone either. While Rukkha was erased from everyone's memories, at the very least while she existed everyone celebrated her unanimously (unlike Furina who was mostly treated as a celebrity and mascot instead of worshiped as an Archon and the people didn't even know Focalors ever existed either) and there was no one among her people antagonistic to her, plus her feats ended up passing down to her "offspring" in Nahida, so people at least remember the feats themselves. Nobody knows Furina and Focalors' feats aside from select few people.
@@123leyang321 furina had to suffer mentally but rukkahdevata had to suffer both physically and mentally from the forbidden knowledge. furina might have been lonely but she was treated luxuriously all those years. Rukkahdevata saved Teyvat as a whole, while focalors saved fontaine.
Imagine being forgotten to the point that you never exist?😭This is the 4th time that makes me emotional on a game ngl, the first one is Amos lore, second the nameless yaksha, third is guizhong lore, and now this, its like saying goodbye to your old self even you forgot about it, its still "you" because of your past self makes you who you are. You will never be forgotten Greater Lord Rukkhadevata traveler will always remember you. At this point traveler is not just a savior but also a pain carrier.
Kazari also sacrificed for the people and then land, in a very familiar way, that was the saddest moment. Travel should be crying in the serenitea pot every day bcs of all the loses

I already broke down when she touched nahidas cheek and they hugged. This cutscene is so sad and beautiful at the same time. Who could think there is something more sad than makotos final Goodbye to Ei 😭😭😭😭💚
I came back to this masterpiece. 2 Years have passed since then. Natlan arc is almost at its climax. Fontaine feels like yesterday. Hard to believe, we will meet the Tsaritsa next year. What an amazing journey.
Yea I noticed that too! I heard the piano come on and initially thought it was just the regular track that sometimes plays at night. Then it transitions to the sitar and I realise "wait no this is intentional"
I literally swore the moment the OST plays I was like "Oh come on, f*ck you Hoyo for reminding me one last time before we leave this nation" I was excited to see Fontaine the moment it came out and they just had to joke about it one last time
For me, this is really one of the super sad moments moment in genshin I seen so far, rukkhadevata sacrifice herself with her last thought for kusanali, and the whole of sumeru, during her sacrifice, she took all peoples memories of sumeru that remembers her. Not sure if the archons have forgotten about her or not but sure enough, everyone, even kusanali forgotten her when she come out and don't know why she cry, the only thing she can remember is something is missing for her, sumeru really have the greatest archons in the whole of tervat, but sadly one of the greatest archon was forgotten and left sumeru for the better future
The archons did forget her aswell, she erased the memories of her stored in the Irminsul which is the collective memory of every living thing on Teyvat (even the abyss sibling), the only exceptions are the "descenders", Irminsul can't collect data from them, so their memory can't be affected by any change on the Irminsul.
Just like Raiden Shogun's second story quest, this is a bittersweet moment. Greater Lord Rukadevatha sacrificed herself and no longer remembered by the people of Teyvat, except us. But on the other hand, the people of Sumeru have regained the ability of dream and Elezar is gone. I was sad, of course, but I smiled a little when the scene switched to Dunyarzard and Collei. The music is grand too as usual from Genshin. I mean, look at Collei hugging Cullein-Anbar while sleeping. She's precious and glad she is cured after what she has been through in the web comic. I wonder if Amber has done the same with Baron Bunny.
The VA did an amazing job displaying emotions, I cried real bad. The world has forgotten you but we Travellers will always remember you Greater Lord Rukkhadevata 😭
I cried in this cutscene, the emotions, the acting, the animations. Damn they did amazing job again. The fact we the travelers the only one remembers her. ☹️
The writers are getting it right and every patch it gets better. Seeing Nahida cry without knowing why is painful. I cannot imagine how she felt. Rukkhadevata is and will always be remembered by us Travelers as a gentle, wise, selfless and kind god. As soon as I finished the quest, I was speechless, having bawled my eyes out and I couldn’t help but clap. Well done Mihiyo. Rest in Dreams Rukkhadevata.
Nahida is but a "branch" of Rukkha that was untainted by frobidden knwoledge, and that Rukkha herself chose to let go as her new self in the new samsara. With no previous memories, Nahida was able to become her own "tree", but upon recollecting all that happened, losing Rukkha is literally losing a part of herself. This is an extremely cool metapgor for change--its a classic in storytelling, but for a reason: when you grow, you must let go of the old survival systems, the parts that are holding you back, so that you can move forward. Letting go of this part of yourself is painful, it leaves you scared and a bit directionless moving forward (like Nahida was for a long time), and has to be mourned (like Nahida does in this scene), but it's necessary. This kind of letting go is what Rukkha did as she devised her plan to combat forbidden knowledge and formed Nahida from her own self. The silver lining is twofold: 1)once you acknowledge this, Rukkha isn't forgotten nor gone at all; she and Nahida are indeed two phases of the same person, with the latter one being born to adapt to the new challenges. 2)the part of yourself that you let go of no loonger decides the direction of your life, but it's still in you, like an old friend.
After playing Nahida's second story quest, and the traveler panicking and stopping Nahida from doing any sacrifices because we know and we cannot go through this again 😭😭😭
Best scene that i've see in my 25years of my life... The saddest with no doubt... And 2 kindest character i ever see, which Nahida and Rukkhadevata... Farewell "Greater Lord" Rukkhadevata, not even forest will remember you, thats make a hollow in my heart, but im will always remember you even its make me heart hurt and crying so much... rest in peace, hope you blessed with the sweetest of dreams. . .

I was literally tearing up but had to cry silently so no one can hear me. “Goodbye Rukkhadevata, may you Rest In Peace. I will always remember you and what you have done for the entirety of Teyvat.”

I managed to hold back the tears for most of the scene, but seeing Dunyarzad and Collei being healed of Eleazar was too much for me... Maybe only Aether/Lumine will be able to remember Great Lord Rukkhadevata, but every Genshin Impact player will never forget her.
I thought she was kidding about the whole "Let the world forget me" thing, the next thing I know Nahida and Paimon completely forgot her existence. That part literally got me acting up...
even the forest forgets. aranara 😭 we won but at what cost, and in the end just like zhongli said, we as the travelers, even we archons erroded, all is lost and gone, would be the only one to remember their history
@@dhaniya7646 wait really?? How do you know that? I asked because I'm still on my way doing the Aranara quest and the mentions of Rukkhadevata after this might be awkward lol
I honestly thought that was Nahida/Kusanali that was saying goodbye... Since everyone remembered Rukkhadevata with such fondness, and Kusanali was remembered as 'someone who just took the title after the Greater Lord vanished', hence some of the supporters trying to throw the Subzeruz Festival to try and spread the word...

the goodbye people of sumeru just hit me full force and it's so heartbreaking, we never really knew of rukhadevata but I'm glad we get to hold on to this history, for how many years she's taken care of sumeru and to be forgotten by that? I wish they could've let the aranaras remember her but in the end the forest does forgets :') kinda scared for the future of genshin, this just reminded me of zhonglis line to traveler, that even at the end, when all is lost and gone there is always someone to record and remember this history AND I REALLY DO HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS TO OUR ARCHONS GOSH JUST THINKING ABT IT MAKES ME SOB SO HARD 😭
The way Rukkhadevata looks at Nahida is how a mother would look at her child growing up. The feeling itself is profound.
The past nahida and afterlife nahida.
Yeah.. even if they are the same person at core since they are embodiment of Irminsul, Rukhadevata created Kusanali/Nahida from the very same source as hers. Most gacha games are like this. They focus on the story rather the gameplay. It's quite a feat that Genshin manage to balance between story and gameplay and make it f2p.

So both archons came from the tree, but are different people entirely because of their own experiences and knowledge.

I still don't get how only traveler remember her, i mean how about people outside sumeru or other archon like zhongli and venti
Rukkahdevata saved Teyvat as a whole, while focalors saved fontaine.
this was so beautiful seeing the relationship and emotion captured through this cutscene, genshin has outdone its self yet again
At this point traveler is not just a savior but also a pain carrier.
don't forget dear makoto :')

…wait, does it count?
Kazari also sacrificed for the people and then land, in a very familiar way, that was the saddest moment. Travel should be crying in the serenitea pot every day bcs of all the loses
To this day, this cutscene still makes me cry.
I can’t listen to this ost while roaming in Sumeru anymore without tearing up, honestly the best ending cutscene to any quest in Genshin so far
same
I think the statue of the seven is actually rukkhadevata hugging the branch that became nahida as in 0:51
Holy sh*t I didn't noticed that?! So the statue of Seven in Sumeru is about both of their Archons, the Greater Lord and the Lesser Lord
Yup.Its the same thing. This was a very huge Easter egg.🤯
Wait if it true, then that's definitely an interesting easter egg 🤔
I'm loving how Chloe Eves, the VA who did this amazing work on our beloved former Archon, is answering many of the comments. It feels so good to see someone doing an amazing job and being proud of it! Chloe, if you read this, thanks! You deserve all the love for giving us such an emotional and powerful performance. Thanks, HoYoverse, for the amazing music and visuals too! ❤
After 6 months playing this game, this is the first scene of Genshin that just made burst into tears. Sumeru archon quest is built so damn good this time.
A big step up from the Inazuma Archon Quest for sure
honkai team writers join the genshin team
it really is! i think Sumeru's archon quests are my favorite ones so far :)
@@traveler5541 Ffs they have different teams, just because the company is same that doesn't mean they will have same team for all their games. You honkai fans are something else.
Even when every person in that world forgot about Rukkhadevata. But not us, the travelers, each and every one of the players, she will always be remembered in our heart.
I don’t usually cry at videogames. But Genshin Impact’s impact (pun unintended) and the emotion and love that is put into this world and characters is so deep and beautifully constructed. When Rukkhadevata sacrificed herself in this scene, I was entirely in shambles. And I still tear up at this scene today.
This was such a memorable moment. A pinnacle of this game and storytelling in gaming itself 💚
I finished this yesterday
this cutscene made me crying so hard
She deserves the entire world
The best Archon among those who we know
she helped us and told us some Lore about our sister
well shes the only who has access to irminsul so I don't really think u get to compare them cause that seems unfair y'know
@@dhaniya7646 no you can, zhongli knows something but cannot tell us
@@dhaniya7646 Venti and Zhongli literally know everything and witnessed everything that happened by their own eyes but didn't tell a single thing, f**k them.
@@canni8l yea he can't clearly because of celestia, whilst nahida isn't. knowing he's no longer an archon, celestia is probably paying a close attention to him and venti ig since they don't want them running of their mouths
@@x_Psyduck_x every archons have their reasons and it's already clearly stated that their binded towards celestia, just because their archons doesn't mean the can do whatever they want can they? like dain said the gods are nothing but another being living in teyvat, but somehow nahida isn't applied by this rules so idk
This cutscene made me emotional tbh and the fact that everyone including nahida didnt remember her excluding traveller 😢
I still remember. A whole year has passed, but it seems like a month has passed...
Me too 😢
Still remember people were ready to unalive azar when they saw her crying in trailer.
The last words, the monologue of the forgotten Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, is truly heartbreaking.
We all nestle under the great tree of wisdom, peering out to perceive the world
From the earth, and from the rain, we perceive its wonders...
Once upon a time, I alone dreamed in this world
In my dreams, everybody would also dream after they fell asleep
Wild and wonderful thoughts would emerge from their minds
Some tumbled to the ground, and others floated to the sky
Connecting all things in the world into one dazzling net
Among a plethora of worlds, were numerous smaller worlds
All of fate, finding within the tapestry their brilliant glow
I gradually understood
That these indescribable and constantly changing things
Are the most profound things in the world
Only they
Can completely repel the madness
Only dreams
Can awaken consciousness from the deepest darkness
I'm the one who posed this question
Yet also the one who sought a solution
Saving the world with the dreams of the people
Used to be my answer
And now
You've also found your own answer
And I shall return all the dreams to the people
Goodbye, people of Sumeru
May you be blessed tonight with the sweetest of dreams
*They definitely nailed it in the final act of Sumeru's Main Story.* 😭💔
So many emotions, so much great storytelling, an amazing villain, an awesome team that actually felt like a team, etc. *This was incredible.*
"Only dreams can awaken consciousness from the deepest darkness"
That's honestly a line that we need to remind ourselves of more often
I already broke down when she touched nahidas cheek and they hugged.
This cutscene is so sad and beautiful at the same time.
Who could think there is something more sad than makotos final Goodbye to Ei 😭😭😭😭💚
We will not forget you Rukhadevatta. We will cherish your kindness and your gentle nature.
Who is Rukhadevatta?
Travelers won’t but everyone else has including Kusanali😭
@@mark9152 idk man, i don't remember writing comment above too.
Who is it, again?
Who's Rukhadevatta, is that some kind of metaphor?
I came back to this masterpiece. 2 Years have passed since then. Natlan arc is almost at its climax. Fontaine feels like yesterday. Hard to believe, we will meet the Tsaritsa next year. What an amazing journey.
1:31 omg this drop... I can't hold my tears 😭
That “Good-bye people of Sumeru, may you be blessed tonight with the sweetest of dreams” gets me every time
And then Hoyoverse hits us with this theme again before going to Fontaine (Archon Quest while saying goodbye to Dehya and Sumeru)
Yea I noticed that too! I heard the piano come on and initially thought it was just the regular track that sometimes plays at night. Then it transitions to the sitar and I realise "wait no this is intentional"
I literally swore the moment the OST plays
I was like "Oh come on, f*ck you Hoyo for reminding me one last time before we leave this nation"
I was excited to see Fontaine the moment it came out and they just had to joke about it one last time
For me, this is really one of the super sad moments moment in genshin I seen so far, rukkhadevata sacrifice herself with her last thought for kusanali, and the whole of sumeru, during her sacrifice, she took all peoples memories of sumeru that remembers her.
This was extremely well executed, this has become my favorite Genshin Impact moment
"Good bye people of Sumeru..., May you be blessed tonight with the sweetest of dreams" that part was finally able to drop my tears....
This scene was so sad yet really pretty
The VA did an amazing job displaying emotions, I cried real bad. The world has forgotten you but we Travellers will always remember you Greater Lord Rukkhadevata 😭
I cried in this cutscene, the emotions, the acting, the animations. Damn they did amazing job again. The fact we the travelers the only one remembers her. ☹️
Rukkhadevata's final goodbye is really break the heart... because it literally is final goodbye, no one will remember her except us, traveler...
It's been half a year already? Damn felt like yesterday...
Still makes me cry
Same here man; I watch this everyday and still feel like crying
The writers are getting it right and every patch it gets better. Seeing Nahida cry without knowing why is painful. I cannot imagine how she felt. Rukkhadevata is and will always be remembered by us Travelers as a gentle, wise, selfless and kind god. As soon as I finished the quest, I was speechless, having bawled my eyes out and I couldn’t help but clap. Well done Mihiyo. Rest in Dreams Rukkhadevata.
She is such a wonderful archon. I can already see how great she will become
I love this so much.. thank you..
@@zeean531 Happy you liked it
The part when she said goodbye gives me shivers every time :(
may you be blessed tonight with the sweetest of dreams😭
I will never recover from the PTSD this cutscene gave me 😭
After playing Nahida's second story quest, and the traveler panicking and stopping Nahida from doing any sacrifices because we know and we cannot go through this again 😭😭😭
Who else watched this so many time they memorized all of rukkha's lines unintentionally 💀💀
Basically me with most of Honkai Short Animation
Its so freaking sad that she will be forgotten by the whole world 😢
Best scene that i've see in my 25years of my life... The saddest with no doubt... And 2 kindest character i ever see, which Nahida and Rukkhadevata... Farewell "Greater Lord" Rukkhadevata, not even forest will remember you, thats make a hollow in my heart, but im will always remember you even its make me heart hurt and crying so much... rest in peace, hope you blessed with the sweetest of dreams. . .
The only quest I've cried so much and so long, Rukkhadevata was the best Archon and nobody can change my mind.
It's been a year ago, and I keep replaying this scene making me cry 😔
Same...
I remember finishing the quest at 11PM knowing that I had school but decided to still go through the whole archon quest. I was literally tearing up but had to cry silently so no one can hear me.
“Goodbye Rukkhadevata, may you Rest In Peace. I will always remember you and what you have done for the entirety of Teyvat.”
such a pure voice , full of love and kindness, it elevates this cutscene to another level with this OST, i dont realy remember when i was this touched by a game
Thank you so so much ;0; I cannot express just how much it means to hear someone compliment my performance and voice to such a high degree of praise. Thank you
@@ChloeEvesVA thank you so much for your perfomance ! and blessing this game by being part of it < 3 there is magic in this cutscene for me ^^

strong yet sorrowful
I managed to hold back the tears for most of the scene, but seeing Dunyarzad and Collei being healed of Eleazar was too much for me... Maybe only Aether/Lumine will be able to remember Great Lord Rukkhadevata, but every Genshin Impact player will never forget her.
Same too😭
I thought she was kidding about the whole "Let the world forget me" thing, the next thing I know Nahida and Paimon completely forgot her existence.
"Goodbye, people of Sumeru." This particular line made me cry, the traveler will never forget.
We are currently in Fontain, September 8th of 2023, and this cutscene STILL makes me SOB
the goodbye people of sumeru just hit me full force and it's so heartbreaking, we never really knew of rukhadevata but I'm glad we get to hold on to this history, for how many years she's taken care of sumeru and to be forgotten by that? I wish they could've let the aranaras remember her but in the end the forest does forgets :') kinda scared for the future of genshin, this just reminded me of zhonglis line to traveler, that even at the end, when all is lost and gone there is always someone to record and remember this history AND I REALLY DO HOPE NOTHING HAPPENS TO OUR ARCHONS GOSH JUST THINKING ABT IT MAKES ME SOB SO HARD 😭
This is peak writting right there, well done Hoyoverse
