If I am being honest, I think Slaughterhouse was Joe's last attempt at trying to make it in rap, but because he didn't see the outcome he wanted, he slowly started to distance himself and used Shady Records as an excuse. He also prolonged this and led the group on by giving them an unfair ultimatum, which was to leave Shady Records. Even after they did that, he still didn't show interest in coming back. So it just makes me think that he doesn't really care for slaughterhouse fans and only wanted to use that situation with the group for publicity for his stupid podcast. At the end of the day, he is still a PoS, and Royce needs to get his head out of his ass.

You can tell that Joe wanting slaughterhouse off shady was the beginning of him having a problem with Em. So two out of the 4 in this group decided to go their own route and shelf Slaughterhouse. One retires, starts a podcast..uses podcast to diss eminem.. the other starts making records..creates a label of his own..then gets on a high-horse about everything but instead of rapping now..he just rants on IG. Joell and Crook, stayed true to themselves. They love hip-hop, they didn't let anything sway them and they felt the fans needed closure on this (which I see no issue with at all because two people think that because they aren't a group that the other two can't speak freely on the matter). Joe wanted SH to sink when he retired, he has no horse in this race anymore. Royce doesn't wanna rap without joe because in my mind he thinks Joe is what would propel this group, Wrong.. these guys lyricism is what propelled this group and the FANS. After listening to this story, it sounds more like Joe never wanted to belong to a group in the first place. I didn't know the only reason they came together was because they did one song together on a Joe Budden demo/mixtape, and listeners loved it and demanded more. Slaughterhouse was an unintended consequence. Something that was never in Joe's original plan. His original goal was becoming a solo artist.
It all makes sense now. Joe Budden only did SH because he thought he could use it to help get his foot in the door just enough to leave it and become a breakout star in order to resume pursuing a solo career.
When that didn't happen, he settled for reality TV shows and podcasts instead. Anything that was rooted in him being on his own. No one else around him to distract from his individual attention needs. If it included others, he wanted no part of it. He'd rather cut off his nose to spite his face.

Here's what I'm worried about: let's say Royce FINALLY gets Em to do another B.M.E, but in that Royce wants to send shots at Ortiz & Crooked. But Em being Em likely won't cosign that cuz he's got way too much respect for both of them and would rather them settle it on stuff he's not attached to. When it comes to star power esp when they formed and when they signed to Shady it was def Royce who had the most recognition in the game, in terms of his affiliation to Em, his catalogue, hsi work with Dj Premiere and the Bad Meets Evil album. But i get what Joell is saying, Royce and Joe always acted like they were the core of the group, and that Ortiz and Crook were the lesser two of the four of them. This is my honest observation: If as they say Royce didn't want to do it without Joe B., instead it was no a limiting thing for Royce accepting to be on the same platform that Em has being shared with him all these years. What's not sitting right with me on this is the fact that Royce is not coming back to Slaughterhouse without Joe. I honestly believe he don't have enough faith in Joell and Crook to hold down the fort if they had three members. And I'm sad for Eminem because he had alot of love for Slaughterhouse and they had potential to being one of the most dominant groups in Hip-Hop being right next to Griselda and etc. Joe is 100% at fault for both breaking up the group and not having them reunite. I respect him as a lyricist but as a person he's wack for just acting a fool. As for Royce, I'm glad Lupe and Mickey jumped his ass last year. He got exactly what he deserved. Joell and Crook better rip heads off when that collab album drops

Word. I had my reservations about Royce for years but fucked with him because Em fucks with him. Book of Ryan had some good, personal songs on there. But the righteousness because he’s sober is fucking annoying, it’s a common thing too (and I say this as someone who’s always been sober as far as alcohol goes). “Farrakhan today, gangsta tomorrow” that line by Lupe ended Royce. I was also so behind the double jump last year and I’ve returned to both Lupe’s tracks and Wraith several times. I felt the tracks hit hard and Royce’s behavior before and after just made me look at him entirely differently.

He tried to help them with the first album. It didn't go as expected. He took it to heart. And he let them do their own thing with the second album. Joe retired from rapping, they haven't rapped over 10 years together, Crook and Joell doesn't propably fnck with Joe that much because all of the Em mess and then not even coming to rap after demanding first being freed from Shady and they get it. Royce is Budden's best buddy and also says he won't do something without a retired man, so where does that leaves anything? Nowhere and nothing happening, except what Crook and Joell are now putting out, it's pretty much only road left for Slaughterhouse. It is so done deal, cut and dry, because every possible move was tried before it came to this and these two men have all of their right to explain the situation better and their frustrations as in rap form. Joe and Royce are the ones not getting off the couch to rap and given so much time to do that, but they didn't. There shouldn't be anything to ponder on about is this right or wrong. Should they have done it or not.
Also thruthfully Joe get's a too good of a bag from podcasting to go rap and that bag is his first goal and Royce seems like he rather puts out solos than goes and would do a 3 man. If Joe did rap he Might do it but Joe wasn't going to rap for Slaughterhouse as long as money is coming in. If Budden podcast went into the mud mud and no other option then he might. Let's be real about that. So what, another 10 years more possibly, or never.
