VCUarts Fashion Design + Merchandising Cotton Line Program

The FASH440 Line Development Studio class was the primary class in the Cotton in the Classroom grant received by VCUarts Department of Fashion Design + Merchandising for 2023.
This course combines fashion design and fashion merchandising students in the same studio, giving them the opportunity to work together in product development teams to conceptualize, design, and market a line of apparel based on a prompt provided by the professor.
The spring 2023 prompt was to produce a size inclusive line of denim in cotton-rich textiles (at least 70%). There were 6 teams in the spring, which resulted in 2 menswear lines and 4 womenswear lines.
