Today I discuss why I think The Apocalyptic Trilogy by APTeam is the BEST HELL LEVEL EVER MADE and the best upcoming top 1 extreme demon, even better than tidal wave (gyat) (verified by zoink), and greif by icedcave. finally after more than 7 years, cataclysm, bloodbath, and aftermath will be top 1 again - maybe - zoink is crazy bro

I am really happy you enjoyed the final outcome ❤ This was a very long and difficult journey for me and I was seriously anxious about how people will receive it in the end since I have dealt with pretty harsh hate related to it very often. But it seems like the majority of people love it! I hope we will be able to deliver more amazing projects in the future for everyone in the game ❤
The level turned out looking awesome and I can't wait for the future projects. That's unfortunate to deal with hate considering the fact that it is an awesome level, and everybody put their hardest effort into it.
It has gone a long way to become an amazing level, congrants for never canceling this 2.1 project :)

This level doesnt look as much contreversial as tidal wave, its more unique and actually more intense, however i like both levels so idk

I honestly think the two hell styles should be separated into "realistic hell/lava style" and "red hell/old hell"

@@user-fy4qg9eh1z Eh I think the "red hell" style could be separated into more subcategories tbh, like some focus more on atmosphere and some focus more on a specific theme I'm not entirely sure how to describe it

I want to talk about the optimization of this level for a second as a playtester.
It is, without question, one of the greatest feats I've seen accomplished in GD. the level doesn't drop a single frame, it didn't drop a single frame on a 6 year old PC either and ran at a smooth 360 despite being one of the most dense and detailed levels out there. the level looks and flows absolutely gorgeously in-game.
that sounds unreal. This must be the best level in GD because it's just so perfect!

that's a wild take buddy, considering this level would not exist if it weren't for three other hell themed levels. By your logic, this level shouldn't exist (even I, as a hater of the level, think this should still exist because it's a cool concept)

A part of me wants it to be the bloodlust extension because that is more well known than aftermath, but then it would feel weird. I do still feel mixed about this not including bloodlust stuff. It doesn't make the level worse it is just sorta a catch 22 for me.
Zimnior did an amazing work keeping the level all up to date over the 7 years , thought it was going to be a mess but its awesome
You raise a really good point at 5:40 considering what happened with Ascension to Heaven, with all of the parts being too similar to each other and leading to the deco feeling somewhat boring due to how long the level is. The variation in APT is honestly a plus for me since BB and AM were both collabs with pretty inconsistent deco anyways so it feels like it fits very well.
Daily reminder that Hell levels aren't bad, they just need legacy and distinction.

These people are just looking for ways to complain
GD Community when a new hell top 1 comes out: “We’ve had too many hell themed top 1s bro!”
Also GD Community when Tidal Wave is almost verified, ready to be a non-hell themed top 1: “This level is ass! It has too many objects and is ugly!”
@@exiled_shadegd It did have too many objects, but Onilink optimized it and improved from feedback, unlike the creator of Avernus. The only thing I dislike about Tidal Wave is its overuse of fake spikes for the background which can make it look worse. Still, I love Tidal Wave's new optimization update and Onilink did awesome on it.

My only criticism of the actual level besides the endscreen is that my heart is a bit sad to see the blue pad transitions gone. Like yes the art is incredible and jaw dropping, but that blue pad leadup to some of the parts (especially the one before Etzer) is ICONIC and one of my favorite parts in the original levels, and it makes me sad to see them missing.
Other than that and the endscreen this level is amazing. One of my favs of all time. It would be literally perfect and SO poetic if this is the final top 1 level before 2.2. It couldn't have come at a more perfect time, to end one chapter and finally begin a new one... I'm excited for it!
I just think it's cool that this will be the first Top 1 since ErebuS which has user coins

This looks awesome, I've never understood the "corporate deco" take cuz it's only ever used when the level has what i'd consider to be VERY high quality deco.
If this actually becomes the last 2.11 top 1 I will actually be glad, is going full circle, especially since bloodlust Is around top 75 at this point I believe

7:04 Funnily enough I was very happy thay they did a very long endscreen. Why? Remember the old version of this level? Yeah there was a very long end screen that it became a meme. I love how they preserved it for that level, instead of just pulling off a Cosmic Cyclone.

Honestly the only issue i have with it is that the transition between cataclysm and bloodbath is a bit harsh. It feels like the level got cut off

I disagree. The bar has been set high, it is just that there is so much muck around it that the bar appears to have lowered after sinking into it.
this level is older than probably 7.5% of the population of the earth
this feels less like a level and more like an entire game where you have to go back to the beginning if you die. Which fits with its extremely long endscreen.
It's fitting that this level could potentially be 2.1's final Top 1, given that 1.9 ended with BB and 2.0 ended with Yatagarasu, which was supposed to be "a new Bloodbath" when it was first conceived.

The whole time I was watching the showcase I was like "Wavix bouta love this shit"
What I will say is that while people says apteam levels seem corporate, I 1. Have no fucking idea what they are talking about 2. don't feel that way, and 3. Think cherry team edges closer to that just because I have always thought of APTeam as a more closer to the community thing and Cherry Team as more distant, which is 100% due to my opinion of vernam when I started to learn about cherry team. I do like their levels though and I have definitely grown past that opinion.
I really like the theme of this level as i am a creator im not very good on deco but ill try for once but i like the game play ALOT i really should make a remake
I don’t care that this is a hell level, if other levels can use history as an excuse for various things, I will use history to defend this level, besides, the deco is really really good at some parts. Good luck to trick, because dethroning Tidal Wave will be really hard. 1:25 Lmao, Sid125 beat The Golden 3 times in a row, I cannot fking believe that something harder than SW Is Dead has been verified, and this much harder. This achievement may very well be harder than Acheron. Also seeing Sammelot do another backflip in excitement was cool.

just a small correction, it's not coincidental at all that Bloodbath begins where Cataclysm ends. same goes for Aftermath. it was an intentional decision made by the relevant level designers.
Creators in GD should be able to create what they want for their level and not have to worry about not forcing it to be a top 1 or using specific gameplay/deco, they should be able to make a hell themed level if they want to and not have every 12yo carry on about how "it's bad" or "this part is bad". Bc it's their level.
