This movie brought me sobriety..
5 years and 4 months sober thank you Crazy Heart... Anybody else who's tried it..
just give it one more try.
Good for you. It takes courage to look at yourself in the mirror and say that's enough -- I'm done. It's one day at a time but with longevity comes certainty. I messed up for a long and knew I was going down a dead end but it takes a shift in your heart to help you make the right decision and to stick through the tough times.
Thank you Yellowstone for introducing us to Ryan and his great music!
have an 18 year old son fighting narcotic addiction fighting with him your prayers are needed and this song does fill us with hope sorry for rambling
Reading your comment years later, I hope he has found the way out and I hope that the two of you are together. ♥️
Me too. My son is 27 years old. Praying for God to send his angels to help my son Hope your son is doing better. ❤
I love this song, and I love the movie, I want to go back to the US, I want to drive on these roads again, I want to meet the people over there, again, one more time, I want to see these landscapes again, the green grass of Iowa and the red dust of Arizona, and look at the sky, that huge unlimited sky, I miss this land so much.
Marie, from France
Great to hear this from abroad.
You're always welcome...
Well in France there is it nice too. Espacially south france. Swiss greetings.
Marie, I truly hope that you were able to.
Ten years later. Nice heartfelt remark. Peace.
THIS MAN WILL SAVE COUNTRY MUSIC
I love you. You know what it is s to be a N Mm native. You are a gifted musician. 💕 Love ❤️ you!
Crazy Heart- one of the last movies I can remember that was genuinely an excellent film.
"Whiskey has been the thorn in your side that doesn't forgive."
As a former alcoholic I felt that one. Used to listen to this song a lot whilst drunk. Blessing to all.
Good job my dude, keep going 🖤
That line crushes you!
🎉
I've loved this song for many years. It hit me different when my brother died a few years ago. We buried him on his 50th birthday. He lived fast and hard. I do miss him.
My Condolences
@@silverfox9285 At least, my dear, he lived.
Hola, lamento lo de tu hermano. Regards from Venezuela 👍👍🇻🇪🇻🇪
My condolences. Be strong 🙏
❤
10 years later. Still one of my top songs
“What’s shaking everybody? I’m just going sit here with my Gibson J-45 and play you an incredibly beautiful song with lyrics that will burn into your soul. No big deal.”
Thanks, Jim!
He’s a awesome and under rated singer. And artist! Fell in love with this song when I first heard it.
Just doin his job! It's what this man does...amazing!
@@JMarkJones Isn't he great?
2021 ! till a great under rated song
It was a great surprise to see Ryan join the Yellowstone series cast with Kevin Costner. Hadn't seen him in anything beyond Crazy Heart. The Weary Kind represents so many lifelong road dogs who sing their way from coast to coast, boondocks to barstools; plying their musical trade to anyone kind enough to pay attention.
Too many nights of smokey bars & inattentive audiences can be dispiriting. Then comes that one golden moment when the right person, on the right night, hears the song that changes your life forever. For better or worse, from then on, you're tied to a runaway train. The best you can hope for is to hold on & try to not derail yourself.
~Thanks to Ryan Bingham for this look into the life of inveterate tunesmiths everywhere. 🎵
He also appears in a film called Hostiles with Christian Bale
Well said my friend ❤
I think he won an Oscar for this song 😢❤
thank god for rural america. ryan's songs bring it to the forefront. he is a great troubadour.
Nobody sings it better than Bingham. It is simply all him.
This is one on the best “Country” songs of the last 25 years. Frankly I can’t say it’s not the best “Country” ballad of the last quarter century.
This is True country music in its finest form. I play and write my own songs and it is songs like this that inspire you to push forward with the music that should be called country, instead of all the pop B.S that gets shoved into the spotlight now a days.Great Song, Great Movie!
More roots or folk to me..but who's labeling anyway!@!!
It breaks my heart so much, in a good way. I'm a recovering alcoholic and addict and I don't think people can truly appreciate what it means.
makes my soul cry especially when I am already crushed from life and bad choices I have made...
Two years after your comment, i'll read you the sign the note on my fridge that says "it's not what I have been through in my life that defines who I am, it's how I got through it that has made me the person I am today." I hope that you have defeated the demon and survived.
"Somehow this don't feel like home anymore". Very powerful and relatable line.
I felt that in my soul when I first heard that. Still do.
Words can't expresss the perfect beauty of this song and Ryan's profoundly touching interpretation of its meaning. I never tire of listening to it.
I recently got into Yellowstone I and Ryan's character walker started singing, I had too Google this guy. I love country music been Chris Stapleton fan for years and Zac Brown. But just hooked on Ryan Bingham and his music, especially this song some of lyrics just hit home in many ways especially after 2022 losing 2 of my closet friends. This song and the film are just beautiful. I could listen to this style of music all day personal, the music has feeling...
2021 and my hearts still on the loose
This song is so beautiful! For those of you leaving negative comments, if the song is so bad, then why are you even bothering to watch it? Stop wasting your time and go watch something you like and stop criticizing the rest of us.
I was so mad that the year Ryan won an Academy Award for this song was the one year the Academy decided not to have performances of the nominated songs. They owe him an invitation to come back to perform this!
What a pure song !
What a voice, what a song...Thanks Ryan.
Ryan Bingham is really a sort of unsung hero- From Farm-Aid, to the soundtrack of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner--He has a special kind of soul in that voice and his guitar...Can listen all day...Turn it on and let it go...
Because it’s authentic…real…no phony Hollywood horse shit
Such an amazing song. I love all of Ryan's songs, but this one is the best in my opinion. His slower stuff like this is the best
Andrew Becker the poet. all choked up again......
His voice is soft rust slowly flaking away on a once beautiful, shiny classic truck. That's the best way I can describe his voice and his sound and subtle grace. A dusty throat whispering our small town secret American fears and courage.
descriptive lyrics well put! sounds the same live.
what a comment, small town American movements, hitting the nail on the head
Well said!
hermosa canción gran reflexion del musico que ama la musica y la vida. gracias
You should write
It sounds like he swallowed a glass of pain and whiskey before he sang this. Sooo authentic.
I'd take it away if I could do something amazing like dat for anyone with pain...
@@ajnunez2989 I heard that honey !!! The Good Lord above is the ONLY One that knows what PAIN I endure ... 6 spine diseases, including 3 Slipped Vertabras. Muscle disease ( Myositis) I know Physical PAIN & Also Emotional Pain .
Have y’all seen the movie “ Crazy Heart ?” It’s so killer ! Love RYAN BINGHAM!& Jeff Bridges ( Bad Blake ) 👍🏻♥️🎶🎶🎶🎶...
I fell in love with him when he was on the series Yellowstone.
My ex husband just about destroyed me.
@@ajnunez2989 right... I love this man 🤩
I loved this song ever since I saw the movie when it came out. Such a great movie and song. Highly underrated
Dude takes it upon himself to carry the burdens of so many. Takes a special songwriter and human to accept the challenge subject matter like this presents.
Ryan is the MAN 👍🏻👍🏻. Such a great Man, SINGER ~ Songwriter ~ Actor ! I am so very blessed to have seen Ryan live @ . Tennessee Theatre .
Kind of like Metallica "One"
Reminds me a bit of Kris Kristofferson. High praise.
I wish I could give this performance a billion more upvotes. Brilliant.
Such a great song...no wonder it won him an Oscar👏👏🥰
This song has been on repeat since I heard it on Yellowstone! Great singer and actor 👏 👍 👌. Love it
There's a command on iTunes that allows you to turn off "repeat." Sorry for your difficulties.
I wish I had Bingham's voice, one of the best country artists I've heard.
Your an idiot
What if I told you I met him and he's the nicest and coolest guy ever?
Outstanding song and performed wonderfully by Ryan. His voice is hauntingly beautiful. I have watched Crazy Heart a million times and never get tired of it or this song.
Fell in love with Ryan when I heard "Tell My Mother I Miss Her So." He's got an old soul and it shows in his voice and in his lyrics. Smiley...hang in there..I know exactly what you're going thru...
9 years After it is still my favourite Song 😍🙌🏼
I found this song when im was nearly dead from drugs n alcohol n i held this song as my anthem n with sober ears i can still hear the sorrow i love it makes my skin crawl everytime i hear it
I love this guy this song is incredible.
Most of my years I've spent trying to hide I'm small town girl. This song sets me free. With all my heart, thank you Ryan!
I loved the movie when it came out. And the extended Soundtrack with really cool music of all kinds. I really love this promo video of the song. No frills beautiful.
The whiskey line gets me everytime
From the first time I saw the movie, the sweatin' out the hate line was my favorite. Still is ❤️
What a pissweak round of applause for such a top performance
Calum MacDonald I think there just not that many people
It's hard to clap when he's singing about you.
Small crowd I think. Beautiful song though that touches the very soul, it doesn't need applause. It's like when you watch a movie that you're just silent after.
Trance inducing
why would they be piss weak when they don't know what they listen 'in to?
This song, when I listen to it in a certain frame of mind, has been known to bring me to tears.
Phenomenal song and beautiful performance from such a young man. Ryan you’re a legend, so underrated.
Ck this: I just came here by accident talking about the movie Crazy Heart w/my girlfriend and just 2 min. earlier I was looking at Shaolin stuff. Weird, wild stuff!
I don't even cry, and you're about to make tears come out my face
Ole Danny
I don't get tired of this song.
Just found out this is my uncles cousin, what a small world. And more importantly what an amazing song!
Just obsessed with the song..how can something be so beautiful?
Hell of a song. All about life and its hardships.
It is my goal in life to ensure my son never knows this darkness like I have...
If every father did that this world world be a better place. Keep laughing and loving.
@@craiger0069 not any better extremly diffrent in some extreme ways both good and bad
And like myself and my father, he will grow to become... you.
Or you can help him through it when he does
@@8MiLo very true.
SERIOUSLY!!! How could 208 people dislike this?!?! Doesnt make sense...
This song is amazing, Jeff Bridges was amazing, and the movie made me cry. I've known people who were like Bad Blake; beautiful, talented, smart, and self-destructive. Some were able to change, some weren't. But the movie had it right, you have to want to change and just because you do doesn't mean everything will be how you want it to be.
The first time I heard this song and saw this performance, I though "no way is THAT sound coming from THAT dude!" 5 shows later, THAT man is the real deal and should have all the success and accolades that will come his way.
what a humble man, so brave for pooring his heart out
Johanna Lundqvist sadly not everyone thinks like you
I don't think he wrote this. But I'm not sure
@@robbievalentine8239 Him and T Bone Burnett wrote it.
He wasn't brave.. he was greedy... music industry is greed. .
I watched this movie in the theaters but somehow watching again on amazon made me tear up more. Such a beautiful story
This is an amazing song, I've watched it over and over for at least an hour now
Saw Ryan and his band in Maconga last year. He is gracious and humble with the fans, a beautiful person, and the band is great and has superb stage presence
have seen Bingham several times and the guy leaves it all on the stage by the end of the night. amazing performer and songwriter. Raw emotion!
You got that right FXMAN. It is raw emotion and he does leave it on stage but also in the souls of many of us.
Beautiful song sung by a great artist. Great movie. Bridges was superb.
true sign of an amazing songwriter...takes such a simple song musically, with chord progressions that have been used in folk/country for god knows how long..and makes it into something really, really special. ryan bingham ftw
Uh ... it's been over done and its called mistakenly unfamiliar song.. chord progressions lol... yep you are a regular Chopan lol
he has the voice of a human angel - and best of all, he is still in the game. offers hope.
Yup seeing him tonight
singers with that raspy voice it seems to touch your heart more then others and helps you really feel the music instead of just hearing it. if its a sad song then it makes you feel sad and if its a happy song then it really helps make you feel happy
Of all the country songs, this is the one that made me fall in love with the genre. I guess there is a song for everyone, to come home too. Keep truckin and never give up!!
Anyone whos been in the industry knows how true this song is. Its BRUTAL
Fist time i heard thos song when i lost my mima she in heaven lnow remember her smils telling me be strong thos life is hard but u have to push foward be strong through and through
Wow. This showed up on my Jason Isbell Pandora station, and it grabbed my heart and throat and squeezed them. So beautiful. Crying, it's so beautiful. It's like watching a sunset when you're not sure if you want to go on with this life thang.
I felt the exact same thing the first time I heard this song when I watched Crazy Heart back in 2010. I got to see him perform it a couple of months later, and it hit me even harder. Shit, it still hits me hard. It's just one of those honest songs that causes a visceral reaction, especially those of us prone to depression and chronic sadness. I come back to this song, specifically this recording, time after time when I'm feeling chewed up and spit out by life.
But as Brandon Marshall said, we must go on. Thank goodness for music. Cheers.
+28happenstance i know how ya feel and yes this is a dong that speaks directly to your soul.. i couldnt of said it better mate...take care life is hell and thank god for music ..
This guy is pure gold. Yellowstone brought me here.
I love Ryan Bingham so NM true! My favorite artist!
Great Song, Great Movie.
Just finished watching the movie for the first time, and this song sums it all up. Amazing!
Gary McLeod the movie touched my heart like never before. So sad and yet so touching.
flawless victory
for several years this was on the list of songs my husband would NOT listen to, too painful. He loves it now, as well as many of his other songs.
He rocks -- well deserved OSCAR song ~~ I love this song, many of us can relate to it --- song of the "times present' and "times past"...
Great song, great singer and some brilliant guitar work.
I'm a serious METAL freak and this is my favorite song(right now)....great great song!!!!!!!
TweedCadillac me too..
When George Jones asked "Who's gonna fill thier shoes?". He had never met Ryan Bingham. Finally somebody has came along to fill the viod that the great ones like Waylon, Johnny, Merle, Chris, and Kieth left behind. Thank you Ryan for saving country music.
when you are a crazy heart, drop a tear and follow
He was awesome in 'Yellowstone." I didn't realize that he was a singer, too.
i´m not us citizen and i´m not even been in usa but i´ve a kind of conection to this music I hear it so melodic and beautiful I love it This movie as was Walk the line contibutes to the knowledge of it in the rest of the world
Wow, sinks into your heart.
Hate to break it to ya, every song thats ever been written has been inspired by a song that that came before it. Give some love to a talented young songwriter!
man he has a voice of a angel
+Anthony Wright Roger That!
An angel that's been smoking and drinking for years
Mr Bingham...for such a young man you have a very soulful singing voice. Well done!
I watched this movie more than 8 times and I will watch more. Seattle and Brasil
The most reassuring song I've ever heard so far... Respect!
Wonderful song and wonderful voice
Just got all gitty hearing this song at the end of the season 2 finale of Yellowstone. Love Ryan on there. So this song is totally fitting 💖💖💖
My 70yr old, last of the REAL hippies, Aunt just sent this to me. I knew she was my favorite for a reason ✌❤
this song is something else. I write poetry and this is a masterpiece.
@imageraider well he just won an oscar.. GREAT SONG
been covering this song for years, not sure where I picked it up, had no idea it won an Oscar. well deserved.
This is mine and my son's anthems! The weary kind, but we are still hopeful. ❤
all "country music" stars should aim to be this good..
this is simply gorgeous.
Hey Joe. An Alcoholic will always be on the verge. HANG on man. Listen to Ryan Bingham My Troubles it is another great song. I struggle with booz in a way I just can't explain. I am convinced there is remidy.
Brian Boyd no cure buddy. You can have a daily reprieve from the obsession. Try a 12 step meeting. I’ve been sober almost a year and a half. One day at a time
his bone dry voice is amazing. adds so much emotion to the song
As if the lyrics alone weren't moving enough, his voice just took it to the next level.
your hearts on the loose, you roll them sevens with nothin to lose this ain't no place for the weary kind. who the heck could not like this song.
Baby's crying. I began playing "If we make it through December"' but it got us both depressed. Put on this song to calm down. She's sleeping silently now, thanks Mr. Bingham.
Florida Georgia Line, you're up after Ryan... "Uh, nah we're good.."
For real
