We got our 2016 LS for about the same price out the door. Now have a bit of 30K miles and been trouble free. We drove it from Seattle, Washington to Ottawa, Canada and got about 45 MPG. It handles the winter here in Canada of -40C no problems with snow tires.
Nice review. I hate to complain but I would have loved a drive too. I know the parts manager at the local Chevy dealer and when I asked if the Spark's were problematic, he said when they sell, they go out and he doesn't see them again, except for maintenance. That's a big thumbs-up in my mind.

@BLUExEYEDxSLICKT great, wish you good luck with that. Got a quick question. What do you think about the rear collision safety of the spark? Hey thanks for the video I too bought a 2020 Chevy spark LS 5 speed manual I’m in Virginia I paid $10430 out the door I paid cash plus I used Costco during the Seasons of savings event and got a $700 Costco card for buying through them so I actually tell people I paid $9730. I love this little car so far so good gets me where I need to go and can park it anywhere pretty good gas mileage what else do you want? Just an FYI I do have manual locks and windows. I purchased off of Amazon a key Fob for $15 had to pay a locksmith 30 bucks to cut it and I programmed it myself with the directions in the manual and now I can lock and unlock the driver side door with the remote, cannot open the trunk or the other door locks with the remote.

In the Middle East, LS comes with automatic windows, automatic mirrors, and different wheels hub caps. And The steering wheel comes with volume control. No cruise control.
If you bought this new, you got a great deal! Interesting how low the RPMs are for the small engine, must be geared for MPG. I've been wanting one of these, but instead got its older, slightly bigger cousin- the 2007 Hyundai Accent with the 1.6l manual. Paid $1,900 and everything works like new. Quite surprised by the quality, handling, and the VALUE of these cars. But with my slightly bigger 112hp engine, I'm at around 3000 RPMs @ 70mph. Suggestion, these little engines love to 'breathe' so since MPG and reliability is an obvious factor for you, try modifying the restrictive air box (and intake resonators), and add K&N air filter, it really helped my mpg (nearly 5mpg improvement), while adding some much needed pep, as well. Several places I daily drive- I had to downshift to 4th, now I don't! I love your car, congrats on the great deal!
On a EFI engine the air filter DOES NOT affect the fuel mileage, only on a carbureted engine. The MAF sensor tells the computer to change the duty cycle for the injectors, putting a less constrictive air filter to allow more air will increase the duty cycle in order to maintain the same 14.7:1 air/ fuel ratio. An increase in power is possible because of more air flow (at WOT) causing computer to add more fuel=more power. The power increase would be most noticeable on a super charged/turbo charged engine where you have a LOT of air flow, not on this "econo-box" motor! That mileage increase came from something other than that K&N "upgrade"!
@@TheOzthewiz I have a scangauge that monitors all the engine data. The filter/airbox mods certainly DO improve mpg and power (perhaps not both significantly at the same time). I understand that the engine compensates for extra airflow by turning up the fuel (not super precisely btw, it's often rich from factory, adding a small amount more air often leans them out a tad to more ideal ratio), but there are other factors playing in, such as computer advancing the timing, less load on engine, less need to downshift, etc. Slightly more fuel doesn't always equal worse mileage. If you're making alot more (efficient) torque using a little more fuel, you're gonna have the throttle open less under same circumstances, and also be able to pull higher gear with less mpg-killing rpms. If you cram more air AND more fuel into a cylinder to be compressed, there is a significantly bigger explosion (power) that burns a higher percentage of that fuel and wastes less. (why higher compression, turbocharged, or modern engines compared to older are more power-efficient). So yes, more fuel, but you're burning it more completely than before. In other words, you're getting more power gain than extra fuel usage (if there is any). My digital readout indicates less load on the engine under all respective conditions. It idles smoother at lower RPMs, and the readout indicates fewer gallons per hour even at idle. My 33MPG rated car has achieved as high as 48mpg after as few basic engine mods, slight weight reduction, and a bit of 'hypermiling'. Before I could only muster 38 with hypermiling. I've modified dozens of vehicles, including Corvettes, 'econocars', modern diesels, and sportbikes.

Don't sweat the fuel door release handle/cable. My clapped out 93 Astro van had one. No problems with the fuel door release at 170k, that van was rotted out too.
For as cheap as it is its pretty well equipped. Looks like cheap, simple transportation. I have a '06 cobalt LS 5 speed, which is very base as well. I like it , if it ever died id look at something like this. Only thing id have to think about is the space, which it doesn't look to have much of. My favorite commuters are manuals, no abs, no power anything. ...alot cheaper to own. Thanks for the video good insight.
I feel like buying a used Honda civic or accord with around 50k miles for $10,000 would be a better purchase. My last civic went to 320k miles before it crapped out
for anyone interested in the automatic, in my opinion i personally would not recommend the automatic, stick with the manual, get it? STICK with the manual... this car is made to be affordable and they are not built to last as long as a car like a toyota corolla. if you have the money for the automatic spark you should just pay the extra for a better car like a toyota corolla. trust me if you get the automatic this thing will end up costing you more than a toyota corolla in the long run especially if you dont know how to work on cars. after 80k miles these will start to show just how cheap they are, parts parts parts. then you realize you only paid $10,000 and you sell it for $1000 because it cost more than its worth to fix.
Great little car I bought two 2018 Chevy Spark's for $9,995 each no regrets just an FYI if you get a flat tire you're not going to be able to loosen the lug nuts so you will be calling for someone I put 25,000 miles on puryear no problems so far

Just bought a 2020 in ohio $10995. Took the back seat out and put padding down so the dog gets her own area. Took about 20 minutes to convert. Fyi there is a bit of road noise as these aren't insulated well but the rubber pads I put in cut that down alot. Have had the geo metro, aveo and sonic and love these little cars. Of the BMW Z4 and Silverado the Spark is the most fun to drive.

Sounds good thank you for the info please subscribe for more to come
With the My Chevrolet app, you can unlock the doors and honk the horn with your phone. (I use Apple, I'll bet it works with Android)
Do you have the link for the key fob?

In the Middle East, LS comes with automatic windows, automatic mirrors, and different wheels hub caps. And The steering wheel comes with volume control.
No cruise control.
Weird thanks for watching

@@BuschBuilds yeah 10grand is a fantastic deal for it. Just got my 2022 LS and I paid more than 2x that after dealer markup and taxes and fees🤮. Well Chicago sucks so that's a major part of it
Don't sweat the fuel door release handle/cable.

My last civic went to 320k miles before it crapped out
Great point!
Just bought a 2017 5 speed manual . So far I like it . Wish I had manual windows but lucky I found 5 speed stick where I live
The spark was a great car for us I have a couple new vehicles on the Chanel please like comment and subscribe for more to come!
for anyone interested in the automatic, in my opinion i personally would not recommend the automatic, stick with the manual, get it? STICK with the manual... this car is made to be affordable and they are not built to last as long as a car like a toyota corolla. if you have the money for the automatic spark you should just pay the extra for a better car like a toyota corolla. trust me if you get the automatic this thing will end up costing you more than a toyota corolla in the long run especially if you dont know how to work on cars. after 80k miles these will start to show just how cheap they are, parts parts parts. then you realize you only paid $10,000 and you sell it for $1000 because it cost more than its worth to fix.
Great little car I bought two 2018 Chevy Spark's for $9,995 each no regrets
just an FYI if you get a flat tire you're not going to be able to loosen the lug nuts so you will be calling for someone I put 25,000 miles on puryear no problems so far
I just bought a 2021 $11200 OTD including a new tag impact fee and tax. Can’t beat it for the price. I bought this so I can flat tow it behind my motorhome
good deal is it a manual?im looking for one right now
Just bought a 2020 in ohio $10995.
Thank you for watching
I hate cvt transmission. However I live in PA my biggest worry is driving it in the snow
Have you drove in snow? Might buy one tomorrow
It drives fine in the snow its more controled in my oppion

I noticed you have apple car play but no button on the steering wheel to answer phone calls, can you answer and make phone calls hands free in your car?
Raider SamSon they are under the radio I have a phone button and skip buttons it also pops up on the touch screen. The buttons go home skip back power-mute skip forward then the phone answer button. How do you activate your cruise control?
I like these videos and comments on this car, but my 2005 Ford 500 car has lower mileage on it and still feels like a newer car 26-30 mpg and has been paid for since 2010. Some day I may buy one of these with a 5 speed transmission. Thanks much.

Hopefully i’ll be getting mine this Friday!

You paid 10K for that, that is just incredible! I would buy that all day long and does that have air conditioning?
Clark Griswold yes it does ac heat and stick can’t complain
All vehicles nowadays have air conditioning lol it may be basic as it’s the LS, however it’s not 1975😊
@Morocho Artesano in Pakistan you can buy cars brand new which haven't changed in shape since the 1950s, its called suzuki mehran, its half the price of this car and you don't even get air-conditioning or an LCD, its 1955 in that car.
Best anti theft device.....manual trans.
Yup
I drove mine across Nevada and Utah, mostly 70 to 90 mph and indicating 45 mpg. I payed 15022.32 out the door with tax included. You really payed only 10000? That was a great price!
AmiJurgl yea basically after financing I’ll pay window sticker. Love the car thought will be doing a 5k up date over the weekend
Have you driven in snow
If it had electric windows,a bit more chrome around the interior i mean the door handles and if the steering sheel had some controls on it it would be 100% perfect.
david muic the higher model does offer it and radio controls on the steering wheel and power windows. I went for a base package to save money I don’t use my windows all that often and for the starring wheel the controls are on the radio. The manual transmition is better than the cvt
It’s not a bad car , I bought a Caribbean Blue one . I am tall guy so it’s not for me but it’s a great first car , nice small size , compact and steady . I just don’t like that it’s has low acceleration speed or the highway or up hills plus it’s a manual ; why do they still do manuals in 2020 ?

Manual keeps the price down. Plus in my view better than a cvt.

How well do you fit in the car? Do you think a 6’5” person could fit comfortably?
