Just sold my 2015 Spark. It was a manual with power windows and a/c. I had it for 3.5 years and put about 20,000 miles on it. Never had any issues with it. Changed the oil every 6K or so and it ran nice. Got a realistic 40 mpg overall with it. Needed a car with an automatic due to a chronic knee and hip condition. Other than that, I would have kept it. I got it from the original owner cheap and with just a little over 10,000 miles for $6000, and sold it for $5500. So in roughly 3 and 1/2 years, counting oil changes, it cost me $650-$700 bucks. Not bad.....
I've had one of these for going on 3 years as of this Christmas. It's my first car. I honestly love it. Mine is an automatic, but I almost wish my mom would've bought me the stick, not that I have completely learned how to drive it yet. However, I think I could get the hang of it, which my mom never could. However, the automatic works fine, it's just sometimes it doesn't want to gear itself correctly when I hit the gas after slowing down. It works fine though. Mine has just over 15,000 miles on it. I have the base trim similarly to this. I love it. I honestly find it fun to drive and the hand crank windows and things are honestly fun for me.

It would be nice if Chevy would put a conventional auto trans in the Spark. I have a 2017... its a good, reliable, low cost car thats great on gas, but yes I agree there are a few funny little corners that have been cut. I think its great to drive too, good handling, firm sporty suspension, good steering feel, heaps of power for its size too. I drive VW Golfs at work, they are great to drive, but the engine is so sluggish! Almost as good to drive as the new Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which would be double the price (Spark uses 6.0l/100km, Corolla Hybrid 4.0l/100km, although much more room in the back and much bigger boot/trunk!).

Thanks again for the update. I have commented before that I have the same car down to same color. I've owned since Feb and only have 2500 miles on it. Love the car for what it is. You did the right thing getting the manual trans. # 6 as a Con would be the CVT transmission. Not because it's a CVT. It's the one Nissan makes. Those things are garbage! Huge repair costs, and that's if you can find a Chevy service center that even knows how to work on them. It's the main reason why I stopped looking at the Spark, and started looking at the slightly bigger Sonic; instead.

I think its great to drive too, good handling, firm sporty suspension, good steering feel, heaps of power for its size too. I drive VW Golfs at work, they are great to drive, but the engine is so sluggish! Almost as good to drive as the new Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which would be double the price (Spark uses 6.0l/100km, Corolla Hybrid 4.0l/100km, although much more room in the back and much bigger boot/trunk!).
how do you manage to be 6l/100km? mine is 8l/100km... 😮

CVT does NOT stand for constant velocity transmission 🤦♂️. It stands for Continuously Variable Transmission.
I have a 2018 Chevy Spark…I live in Florida, and it’s a great Florida car. I am 50 years old, Ive owned a Ford Escort and Festiva, a Geo Tracker, a Jeep Wrangler, a VW Bug Turbo, and a KiA Soul…and even though the pick up is slow, it goes when it goes, and Iove it. It holds all my grocery shopping, the ride is nice. I’m ok with manual window crank …I had a extra key made, mine is a automatic. Sad that they are not going to make this after the summer
Yeah, especially with gas prices going up. What a dumb decision to discontinue them.

Can it fit a 6 feet stick?
@@HistoricalWeapons I think that could be a problem, the back seats fold down, the largest thing I put in my Spark was a five ft entertainment rack , that went from the back trunk door to the front seat, it hung over the front seat a little, so not sure…but it’s a great car, Ive had mine now for 3 years, no problems…and it’s comfortable

I hope you'll have another update sometime and let us know what the maintenance and longevity are like
My 2014 spark has 235,000 miles and runs perfect, so they can definitely last if you take care of them, and it’s automatic
Thanks again for the update. I have commented before that I have the same car down to same color. I've owned since Feb and only have 2500 miles on it. Love the car for what it is. The only faults I have is very minor. Wish there was a hatch release cable inside the car. Hate shutting it off to get key to open hatch. A little sluggish on take off, and pair with the hill start assist its quirky. GM has this car geared at 60 mph on interstate on rpms and mpg. If this thing had a 6th gear. ExxonMobil would put a bounty on their heads
Thanks for watching great car still
Yeah. My 2017 is a dog on take off.
I always felt the automatic transmission was better for city driving because it’s too much work with all the shifting stop light to stop light and if you have a bad left ankle automatic is the way to go

Duck that. Save the manuals!
Nonsense if you know how to drive stick.
I fell like spark is the best car for people that are single and you could get the loaded model and it looks pretty nice inside also you could put the seats down for a bigger truck
My friend, home owner's associations provide trash cans for all of your garbage. You didn't have to spend nearly $20,000 for one.
Funny enough I cleaned it Monday shluld have waited and it was only 14k trash can
If u get one of those trash can and put four wheels. I bet u can go faster then this car

Great review, I’m thinking about getting a used Spark with a manual like yours. I’m going tomorrow to look at a used 2018 with 28k for $6500.00. I have a challenger Hellcat and it only averages about 11 miles per gallon. The money I save in gas per month will pay for the spark.... thanks
I am thinking about getting a red 2016 spark with 70,000km on it for 4,900$. I only got a 7 min drive to work to the shop. Most guys at the shop drive big ass pickups but spend thousands on fuel.
Yea they are not bad to get around
@@evanwerkhoven7046 wow, where are the prices on used sparks so affordable? I checked the prices for used ones in Alberta, Canada it's at least 12k for a 2016-17 ones...

I should have bought mine before the chip shortage, expensive gas & inflation. 2020. Missed my window so I paid over $22K for my new 2022 LS today. But I like it. Everything is overpriced now except used trucks that can't get over 10 mpg.
Could you give us an update to how many miles you have on the car and how well it runs as a manual.
The spark was a great car for us when I traded in in it was around 35k. Drove good trans is a little clunky can’t float shift it. But it was a simple car do t recommend for snow. I have a couple new vehicles on the Chanel please like comment and subscribe for more to come!
I really like that car! Gas mileage is what is all about, I also learn to drive in the 90s with a shift stick, an I still drive a shift stick. I want an automatic this time, I want the 1lt trim .

Thanks for the info. What’s the actual size of the back space? Length and width of it?? Wondering if one large luggage would fit 🤔?
You did the right thing getting the manual trans.
# 6 as a Con would be the CVT transmission. Not because it's a CVT.
It's the one Nissan makes. Those things are garbage! Huge repair costs, and that's if you can find a Chevy service center that even knows how to work on them. It's the main reason why I stopped looking at the Spark, and started looking at the slightly bigger Sonic; instead.
I agree I’m not a fan of a cvt in anything let alone a Nissan cvt
I agree the manual will last much longer, and if needing fixed easier cheaper to repair.. thanks

Have you Ever heard of a small trash bag so you can keep the car cleaner? lol just joking 😂 So, My sister just got a “21 “ & I had been looking at them for a couple of yrs now for 10:16 myself as my truck is to hard to get in & out of after 5 back surgeries &getting ready for another one. Just what a 62 yer old needs her herself! But as you said they are small but I love it after driving a truck since 2005! Brand new! So, God willing I may be getting ready to get one myself. Thank you for showing us and giving your pro’s and Con’s!!
If you can't meneuver a Spark just quit driving, this little beasts turn on a dime. If you completely remove the seats, you get yourself a small wagon. Even with seats on I just gave a ride to a guy with a rucksack with tools and an air compressor he uses to fix AC units, for painting and whatnot and It all fit in the trunk, had to move the seats to the front a little bit but slapped them right back and everything fit just right and snugged.
Yo, it's been a year and I sure hope you are keeping that cleaner

I tried to get roll down windows on my 2016 silverado and they told me they no longer make their vehicles with that option. I love them...no breaking and they work with the vehicle off.
I have an automatic Chevrolet Spark. And I love it!!!! The only sucky part is that it didn't come with the clicky thing to put the strap for the seatbelt into on the left hand back door seat.isnt that something. Oh well. Other than that I love it.

I have an automatic. My biggest complaint is the dead pedal. It always feels like my left foot is resting about two inches higher than it needs to be, unless I rest it to the right of the dead pedal. And then there's potentially the issue of getting my foot under the brake. Overall I like the car, but I wish this pedal could be lowered, or removed altogether.
