As someone who went to prison at the age of 19 for 10 years as a white male this is the closest I've seen to how things go on a high level prison yard I spent more than 7 years on a level 5-6 yard it truly does change your life even after being out for 10 years now and 40 I'll never get that time back or forget the things I did to other's while locked up

Its not just the mistake of drunk driving, it is also the failure of the whole justice and prison system which ends up creating more of the problem than truly rehabilitating
Ric Roman Waugh worked as a volunteer parole agent for 2 years specifically to conduct research for this and his earlier Felon. If it’s not an example of director’s stellar dedication to his craft - I don’t know what is.
Super underrated movie. Great story, great acting, I wish more people would react to this movie but I guarantee you'll be the only one to react to it

you needed to keep in the bit where bottles was talking about being a victim or a warrior while the stabbing happend would have made that bit soo much better

Idk if you recognized the actor off screen, but the dude who got violated 8:04, is Ernie from Better Call Saul .. Even though I knew him from the show first, after that scene when I see him on Better Call Saul, I can’t help but now say “Then he ends up in jail and gets raped” … What movie roles do to an actor 🤷🏻♂️

Liked, commented and subscribed the second I came across the reaction to this movie. I only stumbled across this movie maybe a year ago, and since then I've been pushing it on all the reaction channels I watch, mostly to no avail. This movie was such a gut punch, such an underrated, nay, overlooked gem that I actually got a little bit mad I almost missed it. Well actually, I had missed it, it came out in 2017 and I didn't learn of its existance until late 2023, and then it was just due to some fluke occurence in the rythm..
Well, no matter the case, I hope this could be start of "Shot Caller" gaining a wider audience. It really deserves it.
