This film shocked me by how surprisingly entertaining it was when it came out. I love GUY Ritchie back in the day but this reminded me why. Awesome reaction, Greg & Andrew!
I enjoyed Guy's adaptation of King Arthur Legend of the Sword.
Guy Richie also directed the live action version of Disney’s Aladdin
More guy Ritchie please.
Please do Rocknrolla my favorite Guy Ritchie movie and of course it's a gangster movie
Fucking love this movie. Easily Richie's best script since Snatch. And the side characters like Ray and Fletcher are so cool, they could honestly carry their own films.
Agreed!! Cannot wait to watch their reaction
Everything you said…. YES!
I feel like that's such a huge part of why good movies are good movies, when so many characters are so good that they could all just be main characters in their own movies 😅😅
It's a cool movie from him but not his best.
I personally find the writing more witty and grounded in reality than snatch I.e. better movie
That chasing down the phone scene is peak Guy Ritchie. Knows how to give his characters such badass moments.
It is genuinely an art form to make a character badass without it coming across as edgy or cringey, and Ritchie is up there with Tarantino in that department
chip shop fight as well
Guy Ritchie was adamant he needed some kind of BBQ table thing for those garden scenes. Such a thing did not exist. Guy Ritchie invented it, got a company to make one and now Guy Ritchie set up a company to now sell them!!
🤯I didn't know that! Does it sell well, do you know?
not sure how they're doing but to be fair they're out of my price range!!!@@Hummingbirder1
I never knew that lol I remembered when I first saw this movie thinking that it was such a cool idea and immediately wanted one.
I might have to get around to purchasing one.
“I know you’re all roadmen, gangsters, proper naughty boys and all that bollocks” is my favourite line delivery of the movie
There is another London ganster movie of him "RocknRolla" (2008) with Gerad Butler, Idris Alba, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong and Thandiwe Newton. Check it out, it's fun and more in line with his older gangster movies, may be a middleground between the old ones and this one.
RocknRolla was really something special. I've been waiting for a sequel forever.
I still cant believe we never got a sequel even though it's already WRITTEN
If I remember correctly, there were a bunch of scheduling conflicts. Idris Elba was doing something with Marvel, Gerard Butler was busy with the Olympus movies, and Tom Hardy was working on some other film (can't remember what it was). Guy Richie should definitely do a sequel in the upcoming year. Sadly, I don't think there's a huge demand for it. Might have to be a passion project.@@th6199
Great movie. Layer Cake is amazing as well.
Great move with an amazing soundtrack. One of Daniel Craig's best movies. And probably the film that landed him the role as 007.@@4523bgb
Hugh grant is great in “Paddington 2” too. Which is a wonderful movie in its own right.
the daughter, Laura, was played by Eliot Sumner, Sting’s child.
is that the daughter who identifies as non binary because they dont believe in gender, or the daughter that doesnt
Have a day off chap@@bigfrankfraser1391
@@bigfrankfraser1391 wasnt aware...my bad...corrected.
@@bigfrankfraser1391Who cares? She can call herself whatever she likes, that doesn't mean everybody else is compelled to participate in her delusion.
@@jamesdawson2393 i was just curious if it was eliot or not that was non binary, just wanted to make sure
This is one of the most underrated movies of all time especially from Guy Ritchie, thanks Greg, glad it’s getting some recognition.
Darn, you didn't post your reaction to my fav line in the movie... After they tell him about Dry Eye's goon getting trained, Mathew screams "Jesus maybe you need to invest in some parachutes!" I was crying in laughter when I heard that line in the cinema, I lost it, such a good throw away reply. xD
Forreal that line was funny as fuck, there are a lot of funny moments in this movie but that was definitely he funniest imo.
Probably my favorite Matthew McConaughey role
True detective all the way for me but McConaughey was great in this no doubt and Mickey is a cool character, would love a proper sequel.
@@puppetmaster8551 1 up this. I love McConaughey and I love this movie but it goes 1. True Detective 2. Interstellar 3. Dallas Buyers Clubs 4. This
Is it really a McConaughey film if he doesn't take his top off? That was a running joke for his first dozen years or so.
@@joelwillems4081 that was back in his rom com days, his best role ever is Rust in true detective and he never took his shirt off in that
DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
I gotta say, of all the rejects, Andrew pairs up with EVERYONE brilliantly. Love you guys.
Really appreciate you saying that 🙏
That's wild you guys put this movie up, I've owned it since it was available to purchase on digital but I'd never gotten around to watching it, and last night on a whim I decided I finally should watch it. The timing from you guys is impeccably perfect
The “my wife” moment lives rent free in my mind 😂
Operation Fortune. King Arthur. Snatch. Lock Stock. They are all equally great movies.
King Arthur was so overhated. I loved guy ritchie’s style in a medieval setting. It’s also a very unique and honestly just cool looking take on king arthur. Charlie Hunnam was perfect.
I always saw it as the youths at the end are trying to kill micky but accidentally save him
Colin Farel is also amazing in a movie called 'In Bruges' it's about two hitmen and is a cult classic for a reason, it's one of those movies that if someone doesn't like it that's fine but I would never take any of their recommendations seriously again.
Farrell is honestly amazing in everything he’s in these days, guy is one of the best in the business. In Bruges is fantastic tho
This film is a masterpiece. I mean after watching this film, I really can imagine other actors play this parts as Matthew McConaughey and Charlie hunam.
It's real a awesome film. Pls enjoy it on your own
The wu tang scene wasnt part of the original script but Guy Ritchie saw those kids hanging around set and said someting to him about his car, Ritchie then turned to Charlie Hunnam and said he wants them in the movie and it took only 20 min for them to shoot that scene.
33:13 “We really haven’t seen Mickey do anything that scary yet”
Me: uh machete… ? 😳 lol
Yea in his late teens early 20s too 😂
I absolutely adore this film. It’s witty. It’s amazing. The more you watch the more you see little things that Ritchie put in.
So excited to see Greg and Andrew react to this movie! This movie is so cool and awesome! 👍
Still in my top 5, I love Colin Farrell's character and his students adventures.
Can't wait for the TV Show in 4 weeks!
Anxiously anticipating… the challenge is that the audience who knows Mickey knows who he will be at time of this narrative, but Theo James has to play like a scholarly Dry Eye of sorts as a young Mickey on the rise
Colin Farrell in this role is the perfect example of "a character who stole the show while having not much screen time"
This isn't even the first of Ritchie's movies thatgot turned into a spinoff show. Back in 2000, he helped create a spinoff show called Lock, Stock ... which provided a continueation of the various misadventures of Statham and co's characters. That was a lot of fun too, and I'm trusting The Gentleman will prove to be a case of history repeating itself.
In my book, probably one of the best movies of the century so far. Hugh Grant deserved an Oscar for his performance... In fact, ALL performances were top-notch.
Thank you.
I've been waiting for this for a long time, excited to see it
If you want something with that British crime Ritchie vibe but not actually directed by him, I’d recommend both The Bank Job and Layer Cake
You needed to keep the 'You couldn't lift a wheel of cheese' line in 😂
True fact:- Guy Richie actually makes and sells them BBQ tables himself
An interesting tidbit, a friend went to work for GR’s company that makes and sells those outdoor bbqs, and this film was an extended advert for them. I absolutely love it and super happy to rewatch it with you guys 😊
Snatch is my favorite but this one is pretty damn good
Here is a highly underrated movie nobody watched. Free Fire directed by Ben Wheatley. Its really a love or hate film, no in between but you can guess which camp I land in. Hopefully you guys watch it one day..
Free Fire is a bunch of fun. Completely ridiculous, but an incredibly enjoyable ride.
Free Fire was amazing and Sharlto Copley is hilarious in it 😅
YESSSS! Thank you for doing this! Love you guys
This is just polished. This is guys most perfectly calibrated film in my estimation. He feels like he’s just at a mixing board in the studio, hitting the perfect levels on each cut produced.
When are you guys gunna cover the gentlemen series what just dropped 👌
Yes yes yes!!! I’ve been waiting for this movie reaction
With the opening sequence, i was waiting for "Lincoln" to pop up 🤣🤣
@@In_box-via-Thereelsrejects understood 👉
Alright Ph-ucc, calm the ph-ucc down
That synchronised "Oooooh!" at 10.22 lol
Rocknrolla is also a must and rhf cast is crazy with gerard butler idris elba and tom hardy and mark strong.
one of my favourite Guy Ritchie movies, and i can't wait for the TV Show.
I discovered this gem just a few months ago. Doesn't take the crown away from Snatch as my favorite Guy Ritchie movie, but easily a close second.
I am so happy you guys did this!!!!!
Seeing that you two both loved Hugh Grant in this film, you would love him in Paddington 2. Unironically one of his best performances along with this movie !!!
"It's cinema" ... the movie describes itself. This is story telling. This is filmmaking. The score, the dialog, just everything about this film is beautiful.
YEEEEEEEEEES one of my favorite movies, I was hoping you'd end up reacting to this eventually!
You going to watch the Netflix series OR did you just want a sequel?
Want a sequel with the same actors
A sequel.
With Ray(Charlie) and Coach (Colin) coming back .
The rest can be new characters.
A sequel with some of the same characters would be better
Definitely going to watch the series, but wouldn't have minded having a sequel either. Still, considering his next movie I'm just glad Guy Ritchie is still doing movies.
going to watch the series but i want a sequel so bad
It was so much fun to watch this movie in theaters! Love your reactions, as always!
Paddington and Paddington 2!!! Trust you won't be disappointed
Rewatched this film 2 weeks ago and haven’t been able find a reaction on RUclips.
Stoked to see this on my feed, perfect timing boys good stuff. Guy Ritchie is certainly a one of a kind filmmaker. It’s Not for everyone but man is this movie always so much fun to watch
Side Note- how good was it to see Hugh Grant sink into a role where it doesn’t feel like Hugh Grant. Love it
Oftentimes i sit trying to decide what to watch as im sure many of us do and your guys' channel helps me easily decide what to invest my time into watching. 👍 Thanks 🎉
This and snatch are by far the best guy Ritchie films, hands down. This one particularly is Hugely underrated. The cast were all *chef’s kiss 🤌🏼
Such a great choice!! The other Guy Ritchie Film I like as much as this one, is KING ARTHUR:LEGEND OF THE SWORD. There's action, magic and comedy with many faces you'll recognize.
Charlie is great in King Arthur
the fact that the barbeque is actually someting that ritchie sells just is a great little thing thrown in the film
43:00 Hugh Grant in Cloud Atlas. Not saying I like the film. But Hugh Grant disappeared in some characters (and 30404 layers of makeup)
Oh my god totally forgot he is in thay
I honestly can't believe you guys are going to do this, I'm so happy 🤣
Such an underrated gem. Fantastic script, amazing cast, and even better cinematography. Guy Ritchie killed it per usual.
I was low key obsessed with the boxes of bush song! Keep the Guy Ritchie Movies coming boys!
One of the greatest movies ever made!
Almost every single thing in this movie is perfect!
I watched this movie randomly cause of Charlie Hunnam (was on my Sons of Anarchy Phase) but didnt expect it to become one of my favorite Movies ever it had such good interactions and glorious moments that were well written while hilarious at the same time
Pleasseeeeee react to “In Bruges” one of the best Collin Farrell movies ever
That face Colin Farrill makes when asked if he made the video of Dave. 🤣
This is definitely one of Guy Ritchie’s best movies. Everyone is so good, but Hugh Grant just steals every scene he’s in, he’s brilliant.
Loved your reaction!
You should definetly watch the society of the snow, it's a great movie and I'm sure you are going to have a lot of interesting things to say about that one
Thank you guys. I’m digging revisiting these films. You guys have to watch Rock’n’Rolla. Definitely one guys most stacked casts. Definitely one of my favorites
This was my first Guy Ritchie film (outside of Sherlock), and I dived down the rabbit hole and pulled my dad down with me. We are obsessed. Also, I got my mom to watch this movie, and she was cracking up the whole time.
This is a fun and hilarious action comedy movie!
My parents and I watched this on Blu Ray and we loved it!
Need to watch The Long Good Friday for the nod at the end.
This is one of my favorite movies and I'm so happy you guys watched it! And yes, Colin Farrell is one of the best if not the best part of this movie. I also had not seen Hugh Grant play a role like this before and he did an amazing job, the whole cast did.
You should check out King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
Charlie Hunnam plays the main character and it's honestly a pretty good movie. Definitely enjoyable
This movie is such a masterpiece! It’s relentless in its entertainment and from the first scene to the last, it’s pure cinematic brilliance! My second favorite Guy Ritchie film!
Still underrated and I always watched it over and over again and it’s still in my top ten rewatched favourite movies and one of my all time comfort movies
Another guy ritchie film i really liked and unfortunately that one wasn’t received that well is operation fortune: ruse de guerre. It has the classic guy ritchie editing and dialogue unlike man for uncle in a spy setting. Also cary elwes as a snarky m type character was brilliant. Super underrated in my opinion and the combo of jason statham, aubrey plaza and josh hartnett was great. Hugh Grants character is very similar to how he acts in the gentlemen.
Not that specific an order. A lot of the more traditional British pubs keep a large jar of pickled eggs behind the bar as a snack item. On the one hand the vinegar makes customers thirsty so they drink more, but on the other hand egg helps kidney functions so helps prevent hangovers. This is why if you do have a hangover, I recommend scrambled egg on toast.
One of the best films I've ever seen. Good story, picture, editing, music, sound, directing, ACTING(!).
I’m proud to say I actually saw this in theaters like 4 times 🤣🤣
An extremely underrated movie. The score is perfect, especially every scene with Matthew
You know, I've seen this before, but seeing it again here I recognised the pub. Seemed very familiar. Turns out we had our xmas shindig there in December. Hah.
Charlie hunnam and colin farrl character designed very well....Guy ritchies top notch work
“Okkk lets go” kinda intro
Charlie Hunnam always reminds me of Undeclared, where they mention in the commentaries that nobody believed he was actually English because of his accent that's so uncommon (apparently it comes from the Lake District)
Wu Tang mic drop for the chase scene is all time 🔥🔥🔥
i can totally see the jay and silent bob reference lol and I would take that as big complement. I know you aren't keen on Kevin Smith movies but there is a large fan base and I am really looking forward to his new movie about the matinee movie. I would also like to see reactions to his movies.
I'm so damn happy you're reacting to this banger of a movie
Still requesting Society of the Snow, it's directed by J.A Bayona (the same director that did The Impossible). It's an amazing film.
Agreed!! I hope they will watch it, it is amazing movie!
i love how unhinged Collin Farrel can act XD
The only role I've seen Hugh Grant play somone other than himself, and was incredibly funny! He should stretch his acting chops a lot more
I cant believe it was you guys first time watching this awesome movie still I loved the reaction
Another fun one fellas, thank you.
Love this movie! Definitely one of my favorites. I definitely need to check out more of Guy Ritchies stuff.
I would adore a spinoff focused on Raymond getting into crime shenanigans w/ Coach
it was weird for me when i first watched this as those cars in the shop and the ones she pulls up in belong to the man that lives down my road
Such a good movie, perfect writing, casting, it all comes together perfectly to make an extremely pulling, engaging movie that develops and deepens as it goes on. Probably the best movie to come out post 2015
The one we been waiting for
Man i fucking love this movie. When you guys started your guy ritchie marathon i was hyped for this reaction
Loved Charlie Hunnam in this role as well as Colin Farrel. My two favorites in this movie
I've never clicked on a video so damn fast. Masterpiece film.
It's been said before, I'll say again--it's always fun seeing Hugh Grant become Michael Caine.
