Hugh Grant had his phone hacked by the UK press and spent months attending court and enquiries. Part of the reason Guy Richie asked him to play the character was a chance for Grant to get revenge.
How did I never make that connection...?!
That's fantastic!
I love how you bleep every f bomb but not the C words 😂
There’s something poetic in a well placed C-bomb
Yeah. Their editing bleeps are hilariously inconsistent.
It is such an underrated swear word. It gets no play in the US, yet it is so well used in the UK.
John Travolta drops the C-bomb in Grease. Fact.
Three quarters in, I asked ‘How many c words are in this movie?’
Not enough people react to this masterpiece!
Thank you so much!
Here's 2 more 😉

at least some do, my favorite movie next to In Bruges and this one is Lucky Number Slevin and there's no reaction of it on youtube yet...I'm checking for it at least bi-weekly so it *will* pop up for me as soon as there is one
@Necramonium Don’t know what you’re on about. It’s an amazing movie. Was captivated from beginning to end.
If you liked Colin Farrell in this, you should check out "In Bruges".
In Bruges is a classic
Hell yes, fantastic movie.
Great movie. The gentleman not so much
@@antkemp exactly .. but other way around! xD
I second
"I love it when people fall down" is the kind of commentary I come here for.
Schadenfreude is a worthy personal goal.
My parents and I laughed our asses off watching this movie! We enjoyed it very much!
Same!
im sorry but this was torture watching, not movie, but someone feeling down and only laughing at female garage. why the blu face?
The coach saying 'shut the phahuck up, phahuck!' Great line brilliantly delivered! Love Colin Farrell... I think you may have folk recommending In Bruges now after you saying he was your fave character
Me and my bff went to see this movie because of Charlie Hunnem and walked out of this film blown away because I didn't realize the director was Guy freaking Ritchie.
Definitely Locked, Stocked and two smoking barrels. Has to be next . Awesome Reaction 👌
Matthew McConaughey has made a lot of films... and this is definitely one of them.
I wouldn't say he *made* it but his presence certainly elevated it a lot.
deep thoughts with Bottle Rocket ty
The Man From UNCLE, RocknRolla and his two Sherlock movies, to finish off this Guy Ritchie series.
gotta start off with ''lock stock and two smoking barrels'' it's the OG of his gangster/comedies
Don't forget about King Arthur Legend of the Sword
The part of this movie I love most, is when Matthew's character - Mickey - is explaining it all to the man who tried to screw him over (I can't remember character names).
Mickey has been calm, the whole movie. Even when in a car crash, or staring at a man about to grape his wife...but that final face-to-face with his nemesis, tips him over the edge...
When a man is calm in the face of so much fire and destruction...you know he's a stoic, strong man; and when that stoic strong man, loses his composure and succumbs to rage - even if briefly - you know you are far beyond the point of no return.
That is _so_ powerful to me.
"The Gentlemen" is probably one of the best movies that have come out in the last decade. Another good gangster movie is "Dirty Deeds" with Bryan Brown, Sam Neil, Sam Worthington, and John Goodman.
Guy Richie is the king of the British Gangster film! I still find it hard to believe that he directed the live action version of Aladdin.
"I didn't know pickles laid eggs" hahaha so good
That "jaysus that's disappointing" is just perfection, and it reminds me of nights out in small pubs all over Dublin.
If you are going with Guy Ritchie his Sherlock Holmes films are really good.
just Colin Farrell 10/10
Random fact.. Guy Ritchie builds and sells those grills / tables..
Your busting out laughing at the dude getting door'd while on the bicycle, just earned you a new subscriber!
I loved this movie! It came out last year before covid and man, this was a treat. A true gentleman's film.
Guy Ritchie is a national treasure (I'm British). I'm really happy you enjoyed this although I think RocknRolla is his best work.
Why does no one react to RocknRolla, it’s a criminally underrated film. The Gentleman is good, but it’s dumbed down for a mainstream audience so they can understand the accents.
He's my favourite director after Tarantino. The only movie what I really didn't like from him was Aladdin, but that's it.
Colin Farrell's comedic timing is so underrated he is hilarious in this as is Hugh Grant nice pick @The Uber Geek.. next make them watch ''lock stock and two smoking barrels'' it's Ritchies Original and still best gangster/comedy. Mr Movie, i know you know that the latest craze in the reactors community is ''squid game'' seems like ever man an his dog is doing it and for good reason, me being a huge fan of korean cinema/tv for years i have to say it's the most original crazy show currently on Netflix or anywhere else never has a show made a game of Marbles more tension filled/emotional it's phenomenal give it a look. #2ndlike ; )
He is considered the best addition by many, and it's a beloved film. You liking it does NOT mean it's underrated. It's an insult to twist defitinitions based on personal feelings. I hate what is happening to English. Words are used for popularity and changing usage by the ignorant. If words lose meaning how are we supposed to evolve, it's just going backwards.
Nice to see Hugh Grant in something other than a romcom
Hugh Grant is amazing in this film.
Like DiCaprio, he got better with age.
The soundtrack in this film is outstanding as well
I don't understand why Leo gets so much praise. Such a shallow actor. Just because he is good-looking does not mean he is a great actor.
It's hilarious that you guys bleep the word fuck, but leave the word Cunt in.
😂 🤣
👍
Love it.
This movie’s off the chain! I’m glad you guys decided to check this one out. Shout out to both of y’all! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Matthew McConaughey wears a shirt in this film.
Don’t fuck with anyone named Mickey in a Guy Ritchie movie
Mickey's wife was Lady Mary in Downtown Abbey
You should see Godless with her, such a good actress
Rock n Rolla if you have not seen is another great Richie film
... So... are you guys going to watch "Layer Cake" next? Maybe, Sexy Beast"?
I recommend both if you're going to continue the British ganster theme. Oh, also "Bronson" is very good. Thanks, good work, take care. 🖖🏿
Layer Cake is great yea.
Sexy Beast is a way better film than Layer Cake; in my opinion.
"So Morty did ten years because Freddy fell asleep behind the wheel"
Considering Hugh Grant's history with a certain Divine Brown, having him saying "get on your knees" is very ironic.
They were in a car though.
This is one of my all time favorite films. Great video as always. Love this channel!!!
Ray is the best Second a boss could possibly have.
And he's obviously paid very well. Look at that house.
Raymond is a legend of a right hand man.
Thanks Uber Geek, fantastic request indeed. I watched the movie once I saw YMM uploaded this reaction, never seen before.
Lion by far is my favorite character. Micky that is.
The first time I watched it I was laughing uncontrollably on the pig scene.
Short of actually seeing this brilliant movie, u edited it really damn well, got the crucial points with the reactions. Brilliant.
This is my favorite Guy Ritchie movie. Great story.
On the point of double bubble, you can’t call double bubble after the deal is made, strictly before hand!
Guy Ritchie is f*cking great
A genuis.
My favorite Guy Ritchie movie! And I think his best!
"lock, stock and two smoking barrels", "Snatch" and this one are Guy Ritchies best movies.
You’re spot on about it being more realistic and intended for an American audience as Snatch is for sure way more realistic to an English audience than this. Both films are absolutely brilliant though and Guy Ritchie is a legend
👏👏👏YESSSSS this is an excellent film, you'll love it. Colin Farrell is funny also Charlie Hunnam 🤣 😂 😆
A good older flick to watch would be the primary inspiration for this film: The Long Good Friday. Ritchie used several films as inspiration for The Gentlemen, but TLGF is the primary one. It's the film that made Bob Hoskins a star.
The ending to that movie is amazing, I mean the whole thing is, but it's one of the scenes that I still remember 20 years after actually watching it.
The one other Guy Ritchie movie to watch is 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' (1998) if you liked these 2. I never expected to see another Guy Ritchie film I would like, until seeing The Gentlemen. Because after Snatch he seemed to disappear / became a bit of a flop merchant. Anyway I was always glad that his films came along at the right time and replaced the '4 Weddings'/Notting Hill' awfulness that ill-represented England in the film world.
I'm a 95er so for me it was Rock n Rolla and Revolver growing up
@@freddygaulman5493 I tried Revolver but couldn't get into it.
Hey guys, you did a nice review here to a great movie and gave it justice in all the right places. You seem relatable and I like your jib. Im subscribed now.
Just watched this the other day, LOVED it
6.02 the set where the weed is made was based off a actual weed farm that was found in the UK afew years ago, no one new why a storage crate was in the middle of the countryside. Until the police found kids coming out will nearly 5 50letre boxes of weed
Love you guys, thx for the reaction to this. Awesome movie. Have a good october!
This is such a good movie. Good choice.
13:16
"My mans got the dessies and the bootcuts you know? Definitely linkin the jezzies."
Translation: He's talking about his clothes being nice. He must be a drug dealer. Specifically selling to Jezebels or jezzies.
He also says "My mans got a naughty kettle bum." Which is referring to his watch.
I like how the F&^k is bleeped out but, not the worse word C U Next Tuesday lol.
1:0 hey, a nerdrotic friday nite tites shout out! well, orite. they certainly serve a role. -JC
You need to watch the brilliant Hugh Grant in Paddington 2 (which also includes an after-credits extra)
He sits there in a cowboy hat and lumberjack shirt and says the characters in Snatch are unrealistic.
Damn, you guys finally got to one i havnt seen yet. now ill have to rent it this weekend so i can watch this. Still had to stop in to Like the video
Brooklyn here! Wow I requested that you guys watch Revolver by Guy Richie and today you are watching a great film by Guy richie! 🎬🎞📽📺💞
This was a great watch with the boys, everyone seemed to like it. Good pick y'all!
I feel that this is such an underrated movie
such a cool movie. the story structure and humor really worked for me but my brother hated the opening so its probably not for everyone. one of the few 4k movies that i bought so far.
"I love it when people fall down"
me too, it's the funniest thing when they act like that too.
lock stock and two smoking barrels or Rock n Rolla would be great guy ritchie films to watch :)
I really liked the film!
Watch lock stock and two smoking barrels, and there is a Welsh film called twin town which is also a hilarious black comedy.
Oh you guys always find great movies :)
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels is amazing too...
*I* *LOVE* *Pickled Eggs*.
Boil several Dozen eggs, take the shells off, dump in to a large jar, pour in Double strength white Vinegar, sit in the cupboard for a couple of weeks (if they last that long).
YUMMY.
ok had to do a quick pause when Mr said ''i love bush'' the look on the Mrs face was Hilarious ;; )) ok back to it.
One of the best movies I watched the recent years. Thank you for making me watching it again. 🙂
Alot of the Long Good Friday in this film... 👍
Now watch ROCK N'ROLLA - Guy Ritchie's best movie in my humble opinion.
Gerrard Butler, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong.
Brilliant cast and vastly underrated movie
One thing I really like about this movie, is the relationship between the Mickael and hus wife. They actually love each other beyond just for business or killing. They have a life that is outside of the business. Of making dates out for dinner, sitting down and watching TV, having mutual business. Just good old fashioned couple outside of being criminals. Same with ray
Lock stock and two smoking barrels! Another must see.
“Have a hot drink might make ya feel lil better, was a rough night for ya”
Thanks for the great reaction! If you guys are enjoying Guy Ritchie, you should watch RockNRolla. I think it slots by release date, and quite well, between Snatch and The Gentlemen, and it has a bunch of great actors giving awesome performances in it!
Loved the reaction
Honestly im glad you said it, because my biggest problem was the wagyu steaks were immediately thawed
This movie was super involved but in the end it all tied together nicely. Guy Ritchie is nuts. Of all of the nicknames for weed I have never heard it called White Widow super cheese
This movie is pure platinum
Stumbled across these videos last night and I'm hooked..love this concept and the videos. If I may suggest a movie, I'd suggest The Frighteners. Stars Michael J fox, directed by Peter Jackson. Great cult classic horror movie (if yall haven't seen it, that is)
I’m just here for the Boxes of Bush music video reaction :))
A really good but terribly underrated British gangster movie is We Still Kill The Old Way. I think you'll really like it.
Not a bad film either, a bit cheesy and cliché at times, the follow up film ‘ We Still Steal In The Old Way ‘ was ok too..
@@pashvonderc381 I'm an old man, I love both movies because I like to see old men whoop ass. Lol
Cool fact, Ernie is actually Bugzy Malone, a top grime rapper from Manchester
2 aspects of this film I legitimately find awesome and unique in the Gang Film Genre is 1. The Comparison to Prohibition when it comes to the Value that would arise in the aftermath of a Legalized Weed Business after centuries of it being Illegal and 2. The Generational Divide among Gangsters between the Young and The old.
Colin Farrell in In Bruges is OUTSTANDING!!
The toddlers we’re saving Mickey
sherlock holmes? both of his sherlock movies are my favorites he's done.. (and 2 of my favorite movies of the last decade)
“I love bush”
Me: Is he talking about the screenplay, the beer, the band, pubic hair?
They smell WAY better when a bush..........FACT! or don't ya' lik'em wet? 😛
ok just a quick thing. the pickled egg at the pub, is a very old tradition no place does that.
but i loved this f****ng reaction keep doing what your doing
Probably my favourite Guy Ritchie movies is Revolver.
FNT shout out. Nice.
Hello. Nice reaction for first time watching. If you really like Ritchie movies, I suggest for future reactions : Lock, stock and two smoking barrels as well as Rock'n'rolla
Charlie hunnam was the best thing about this entire movie
You should watch Rocknrolla. That is another Guy Ritchie mob masterpiece.
Coach is owed 2 by my math
You should check out "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" and "RocknRolla".and in bruge for Collin classics.
FNT!!! I watch every week. I'm even in the opening! Fun show.
Michelle Dockery is so hot in this movie it’s unreal
She’s always hot
