You can definitely make a life for yourself in prison. And it's best not to keep in contact with family as all it does is make the time go by slower, and sadder. I did 12 years, 7 of them in a max. The most realistic part of this movie is the Secure housing unit with ripper, that's the kind of place I was in. But there's no way a guy like Money would go to that first yard with those charges. That's the most unrealistic part.
I'd click like a thousand times if I could, this movie really should be watched and reacted to by all the reaction channels, and the movie deserves a huge audience. I don't know what other movies came out in 2017 that might have eclipsed this one, but it is a damned shame.
Think the whole wrap up was…he didn’t want his family doing the sentence with him once he realized and accepted it was gonna be too long. He got out and chose to keep it that way because he knew he still had to work for the beast and that put them in danger. He wasn’t a criminal for gain he was a criminal for survival. He didn’t wanna sell those guns, so he gave the parole officer a win since he killed his snitch lol. Then he went back to kill the beast so that he never got a chance to tell the gang to hurt his family and now he’s in charge so they never will.
“You just gone let it sit in yo a** all night?!” Lmao FUNNIEST! 😂 I don’t think this movie is as popular as it should be which is shocking since it stars Shane, Jamie, & Ghost. The story is told rather quickly but the way it’s set up it didn’t feel rushed. An extreme look at how DUI, Prison, & life after prison can go from bad to worse.
Shot Caller is the third in a trilogy of prison films. Shot Caller is the third in a trilogy of prison films from Austin-based director/writer/producer Ric Roman Waugh, beginning with Felon and continuing with Snitch. 🤔
My interpretation is that he was so deep into it that he couldnt turn back. I think he wanted to spare his family even more years, perhaps their whole life going through visits to the prison, trying to continue to have a relation in any sense. Also, this way his family will never become targets as he has no connection to them any longer. Heartbreaking movie but for sure a reality for some going into prison, especially in California where its racist af inside. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to avoid this, you stick to your race and if one rides you all have to go or you're up next. It's a very good movie and also thank you for your reaction to it!
You caught onto everything pretty quickly in the movie ngl. As for Money giving up the guns to the PO at the end, I have two theories and it might be both: 1, He gave up the second set of guns as a sort of secret or unspoken deal, so the Parole Officer might decide to look the other way and not connect him to Shotgun's murder, which would land Money on Death Row. 2, Despite all the murders and crimes, Money still had his humanity, and wouldn't want thousands of illegal, untraceable, fully automatic rifles out on the streets that could potentially kill more innocent people. That same humanity he had by kicking Howie out of the truck, so he wasn't caught in the arrest.
My uncle is Dennis Mahon. When your family is racist it's not that easy I was disowned because I married a black woman and God damn you should have heard whaty own mother called me when Isaac was born. Broke my god damn heart
@explorewithindiamovies7913 amen. That's why I don't associate with anyone except my little sister. Everyone else calls me a "race traitor, a failed white man, n lover and uncle Tom" (the last one just proves how dumb racism is. None of the fuckers read the book.)
18:36 they were in the army together in Afghanistan so his buddy probably steeped on an improvised explosive (land mine) which was a common weapon of the taliban it does essentially blow someone up completely 🤷♂️
25:26 he sent it too shotgun so the cops would get the exact location to get caught on purpose to protect his fam yo he took out like a dozen high ranking gang members and cartel members
i was confused until i saw your bio i didn't know your sitting on 2 strikes fam, I've been wondering why your just started popping back up on a different page lol keep working we still pulling up
Irritating you didn't get the whole point of this film.. The beast threatened his family and the only way to end that threat was to kill the beast.. It was about sacrificing his life for his family..
It's actually such a hidden gem of a film imo. Has such a dark intense feeling through it and seeing his change and rise is really interesting.
It’s all to protect his wife and kid. They will always go after them. He sacrificed his life to stay and be the shot caller to protect his family
That's what I understood from this movie. It was about sacrifice for his family.
No 💩 Sherlock.
The shit people do for their kids
FINALLY someone reacting to this Masterpiece ! Thank you so much :) Im gonna sub to Patreon just for that lol

I didn't know that all three of them were part of a trilogy but the director's name definitely sounds familiar

That music and notes narration got me 😢 so surreal

3rd reason could be a combination of the first two. Money is a long term thinker and would look at all the angles.

If they don’t love us fucc em ! We a love ourselves 🖤🖤🖤😎

Cali prison is crazy racist like this
Luckily somewhere in NE during the 70s it wasn't because my grandpa was in prison at that time he came out the same.
Finally someone reacting to this masterpiece!
One of the masterpiece of movies out there
25:26 he sent it too shotgun so the cops would get the exact location to get caught on purpose to protect his fam yo he took out like a dozen high ranking gang members and cartel members
The Aryan Brotherhood is one of the most powerful and brutal prison gangs in the world, it is better not to mess with them.

Appreciate it.
I think this film is stupid makes no sense why would he throw his life away?
You clearly didn't get the plot lol
you are clueless when it comes to this life style. and by the why the inmates like them do run the prisons.
