I recently saw this video of a female inmate giving birth on her own because prison authority thought she was faking symptoms of labour and they neglected her
I can’t remember her name for the life of me but there is a girl on RUclips who is a former female prison inmate and she talks about her experiences in the system and stuff like that it was actually fairly interesting
Obviously I can’t speak for all prisons, but my mom told me that the prison she was at kept all the pregnant inmates in a different area, and when it came to girls being on their periods they were given very cheap/crappy minstrel products, she also told my that if they bled through their pants they wouldn’t be given clean one right away and had to wait till laundry day or something like that- my mom regularly was given clothes that didn’t fit her and the prison she was a giant metal building that only has AC in the visitation area and where the guards stayed, and on the topic of sexual assault, my mom said she didn’t ever notice anything like that but that there were a lot of lesbian couples at the complex she was at- there’s a lot more stuff I could tell you about the prison she was in, but it doesn’t really pertain to the question lol

I’m sure other ex-convicts would have varying insights and experiences in regards to their life while in prison. Maybe some of them are going through the downhills of trauma and even PTSD in some other cases.
From what I’ve seen since I’ve been introduced into the Korean pop culture/music culture scene is that most of the "rappers" think they’re hard and shit just bc they got tatts, smoke weed, and hang around baddies all the time, but this dude seems like he was actually and may still be bout that life…like he has that vibe😂😂😂
well that's lowkey generalizing ahah, a lot of dudes don't have that fake gangster persona, i'm thinking of like dpr live, Dok2, Wonstein, Nafla, Giriboy, Coogie etc....
@@astouaiisha I'm pretty sure this person's just referring to the rap style/lyrics that some rappers use when they don't even have the personal experiences.
He's lucky to be alive as well. I had a friend who did time in county. He told me how the young blacks would make cat calls and chase around the new asian guys around the bunk bed. The older blacks, whites and mexicans would leave the Asians alone though. So he'd recommend to the guards to put the new asian inmates with him so there will be strength in numbers.
I actually came because of that quote in the thumbnail "You can't rape people and expect to be alive the next day". I didn't know what to expect but I think relating male rape to homosexuality is a misconception; it's most likely an issue of showing dominance or a display of masculinity rather than someone wanting to "express homosexuality". There are research indicating that those who identify as homosexual are more likely victims of sexual violence in prisons. I suppose I was thinking he'd mention a bit more or even bring up an example of what he'd seen happen in prison but I doubt any inmate can get away with killing another prison inmate for rape either. (Edit: With reference to the film clip, Los did mention that expressing homosexuality can also be seen as a weakness which would in turn be related to one's race, perhaps also another harmful stereotype. Evidently a short video like this can't convey everything completely. Thank you for pointing out to me 👇🏼)
I think that's what he was saying, isn't it. He was saying you don't let people know if you're gay because you'll be perceived as weak? I don't think he was saying that they're more likely to do it.
@@RipiaKim I agree with what you said. Perhaps I was a bit carried away by how that was said though, evidently, not everything can be properly conveyed in a short video like this. I did look back at that section a couple more times and I see what you mean. However, he did say "If they're gay, they can't express that they're gay"; it did sound to me that what he was also implying that expressing desire for male-male sex is not safe but it is also not generally acceptable (within prison population). I don't think he was saying that in a homophobic way either but consensual sex does actually take place in prisons due to the circumstance (as per research I've seen). As he pointed out, however, the context of the film was that the man was trying to use accusation of rape to get out of the cell and that had to do with the race of the other man in the cell. Thank you for pointing my mistake out. (Though I still think a mention of this may add something to the short video because mass media and new media tend to make quick representations of certain groups which end up being taken at face value).
There's many reasons why a man would rape another man in prison. Either, they want to assert dominance, like what u said, and made a conclusion that raping another man would be a good idea or they're serving life in prison, so fk it, not gonna have pussy again anyway or they're really just gay and likes man or a combination of any reasons. You gotta understand, everybody has their own perspective and come to different conclusions and decisions. Emotions can be a big factor to the conclusion. Some man can't make the right decisions when their horny, and at the same time facing many years ahead of them and sick and tired of the meal being served. There's a lot of factors as to why they did it. And also u gotta understand that when u go to prison, ur gonna have a celly or a bunkie. If u create a good relationship with them, like playing cards, giving them some food, looking out for them, they won't touch u, they'll respect u as long as ur not a sucker or a wimp, but if ur a weirdo and u happen to have a celly who's not right in the head then yeah. Establishing your rules and boundaries with ur bunkie and coming to a compromise is a must because if u don't they'll make that establishment for u and u wouldn't want that because that establishment will come from a jailhouse mentality and it can get selfish. There's a lot that goes on in there. Most of the fights between inmates happens psychologically, to see who breaks first.
There's this guy Jay Williams here in YT. He's an ex-inmate who did time in Virginia and he talks about this stuff a lot. From the stories he tells, it sounds safer to be gay especially when you're a femboy because you have bigger dudes courting you and in return, protecting you. Of course, that doesn't mean prison rape doesn't happen anymore. But check his channel out Let's Live Life with Jay Williams for more details

"They have their own rules. More like a gang. IT IS RUN LIKE A GOVERNMENT." Dayum, bruh! You just defined the entire global society in under 10 seconds.
I never been to prison, but I have done time in county for a few months. Time does move so slow. Even if you got a "job" the time still moves slow as fuck. People don't realize how much energy you got when you locked up with "nothing to do." I would literally just walk circles around my pod for hours. That or just do push ups, TYSONS, half assed dips, anything. Just a bunch of dudes clowning a little bit, talking, and playing A LOT of cards. Sometimes it would get tense between guys when someone would run their mouth too much and someone would call them out on spreading bullshit or just being fucking annoying. Saw a few squabbles, but nothing too serious. It's easier to just be chill, not too "friendly", but you also gotta shut anyone down who starts to try to "check" you too. You gotta be ready to throw fists at any time really. Otherwise your life will really be hell. Movies are a blessing though. If a block of movies came on FX, that would usually shut everyone up real quick and kill the tension. I remember the movie "Kingdom of Heaven" came on and I was privy to what was going down and when a few dudes were trying to follow what was going on, I'd just straight up explain it to them. Next thing I know, I'm like the damn teacher in the pod. Every time something "complicated" came up on the TV, they'd say "Cali, what the fuck they talking about?" (I'm from California and this is a jail in Kentucky) and I'd just explain the shit. That and I got in a pretty serious brawl my first night in when I was put into my first pod, so I felt a little bit at ease (not completely) knowing that I can hold my own and I brought something "useful" to the pod, being my knowledge that none of these guys possessed. (Not to sound smarmy or anything) I don't know. I don't even know why I've typed so much. Being incarcerated is hell. My time wasn't shit compared to the rest of them and I saw some dudes deal with some serious pain missing the people they loved. They didn't cry or whine about it or some shit, but you could tell the pain in their voices if they talked about it. Long story short, being locked up is boring as fuck and makes you realize how much "regular life" drains you when you have nothing to do all day.
a village head chief i know got 5 years in jail for corruption. there was an earthquake and 15 house destroyed completely, around a year later the gov donate for 11 house and the chief divide it for all 15 while he himself donate his own money too. then he got jailed but the village peoples regularly visit him in prison to thank him while apologizing.

I recently saw this video of a female inmate giving birth on her own because prison authority thought she was faking symptoms of labour and they neglected her
It was an American video
I can’t remember her name for the life of me but there is a girl on RUclips who is a former female prison inmate and she talks about her experiences in the system and stuff like that it was actually fairly interesting
Obviously I can’t speak for all prisons, but my mom told me that the prison she was at kept all the pregnant inmates in a different area, and when it came to girls being on their periods they were given very cheap/crappy minstrel products, she also told my that if they bled through their pants they wouldn’t be given clean one right away and had to wait till laundry day or something like that- my mom regularly was given clothes that didn’t fit her and the prison she was a giant metal building that only has AC in the visitation area and where the guards stayed, and on the topic of sexual assault, my mom said she didn’t ever notice anything like that but that there were a lot of lesbian couples at the complex she was at- there’s a lot more stuff I could tell you about the prison she was in, but it doesn’t really pertain to the question lol
check out Jessica Kent here on YT, she's an ex-inmate and has some interesting stories
My younger brother was in for 15years since the age of 17. Watching you hose shows and movies always gave me anxiety about him being locked up. Thank God he is now out and free!
tf did he do
What did he do?
What he do?
He was caught robbing a pizza delivery lady with a Small Swiss Army Knife. He should have been punished yes for the crime; he did his time but… this is what happens when you can’t afford representation.
@@singularityjackson woahhhh he got that much time for that??? I’ve seen cases in which child murderers or rapists get less 🤯
I don’t understand why you guys don’t mic up the person asking questions.
Artistic choice I guess. Lot of interviews are held like that actually, but it depends on the media.
Still good regardless though.
@@Bella_Rei agreed, I’ve watched a tonne of these videos, they’re super interesting. But sometimes I listen whilst I’m doing something else rather than watch and struggle to pickup what the questions are. Would just be nice if the volume was consistent. I’d imagine it’d be handy for blind people too 🤔
Also they need to turn up the volume on the movie scenes
@@CieraMychele they literally can't do that due to copyright issues. They HAVE to keep the show/movie volume low or else they can very very very easily get a strike.
I always wondered the difference in prison movies. I had a ex boyfriend that went to jail. It really messed me up because I almost had to go with him though I did nothing. Just guilty by association. That rule freaking sucks, but I thank the people for believing me. 🙏🏾
im glad you didnt go... the system needs work
"memory lane", he is free and he doesn't want to recall the previous bad jail memories, i felt that sadness when he pause, missing her family and friends putting myself in his shoes. respect.
dude has a seriously soothing voice.
He definitely sounds like he’s done and been through a lot,he sounds like he regrets what he’s done.everybody deserves a second chance,i hope he finds his path.
Living with an ex inmate has shown me so much, his stories, and what he learned. It’s really eye opening
i’m still curious about the “prison-husband” thing lol

Edit: ik he’s not being forced and agreed to be there but I still feel bad idk 😞
i think he learned to accept it.. but i don’t think he’s forced lol. i hope not. plus he def getting paid to do this
He agreed to this himself? Lmao
I wouldve done anything for him in prison, he's soo hot.

So prisoners aren’t a different breed of alien meant to attack each other for no reason? Interesting..
dont animalise every prisoner. some people are in there for non-violent crimes or falsely accused because the american justice system is fcked

He seems like such a chill dude.
He is
I love how he matched the color on the hat, shirt, hand tattoo and his ipad
Los seems super chill and laidback. I feel like he could be anyone’s uncle for some reason. I don’t know why, but he’s kinda giving off that sort of vibe for me. I’m sure other ex-convicts would have varying insights and experiences in regards to their life while in prison. Maybe some of them are going through the downhills of trauma and even PTSD in some other cases.
ooh, he seens a rly nice person, he's so chill, this was an amazing video, for real, probably my favorite one
This dude clearly does not fuck around lmaooo

He is no gangster
Should show him clips from the TV show, “OZ”! Now THAT show had scenes based on real events for some prisoners.
True true!
I love this man. The only real G in Korean hip-hop. None of that fake hard gangster shit a lot of Korean rappers try to portray.
well that's lowkey generalizing ahah, a lot of dudes don't have that fake gangster persona, i'm thinking of like dpr live, Dok2, Wonstein, Nafla, Giriboy, Coogie etc....
What an awfully ignorant comment.

@@astouaiisha did they say those artist were trying to be fake hard? No. They said a lot, not all, and it’s very true.
@@astouaiisha I'm pretty sure this person's just referring to the rap style/lyrics that some rappers use when they don't even have the personal experiences.
Would love to hear more from this gentleman, seems like he's got a lot of wisdom, from life in general, not just as an inmate
Seems like a chill guy. Glad he made it out of that life and seems to be doing well. Hopefully he’ll keep achieving bigger and better things in life.
I love Los. He’s so chill and well spoken.
I can feel the uneasiness of Los, base on his words and also body language. Hope he are going to be fine.
@Charon 00 the subtitles are very inaccurate so hopefully you took him at his literal words and not the captions

Its sad because time moves fast and while your in prison time feels kinda stuck😔
Yeap been there
I never been to prison, but I have done time in county for a few months.
Time does move so slow. Even if you got a "job" the time still moves slow as fuck.
People don't realize how much energy you got when you locked up with "nothing to do."
I would literally just walk circles around my pod for hours.
(Not to sound smarmy or anything)
I don't know.
