Thanks to True Color Films for the additional filming and footage!
Thanks to Red Bull and Hilti for making this happen!

We want to climb the route! When are we allowed to?
@@konstantint5719we? 😂😂 nah bro im good thats all you haha
Do you also make drinks?
Climbing is taking over my life recently, and it just feels so natural and fulfilling. Great video, great people and great quote at 10:47
Thanks for showing the route setters work! Not even epic TV is covering it. As a route setter myself I agree hundred percent with Katja and Steve on the planning, balance, love and passion required on the dayly bases in this profession.
Thanks for the comment! Was so awesome to film with those guys and learn the process
@@NoahKaneMaybe is a stretch, but I will try anyway. It is possible to get in touch with Steve? Thanks for helping.
dude i love your vids sm!! recently got into climbing content, your stuff always makes me smile, your style is amazing!!! would love to see more feature-length vids but keep up the good work!! :)
SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY PUTZ FAMILY KEEPING IT WILD. This was a very cool insight and fun to learn about! Sick moves and it was nice to hear the setter's perspective on why he sets. Passion. Love it.
Great insight Noah, brilliant that you got the shout for behind the scenes access.
I've always found the guys and gals who make things more interesting than the people who master them. True mastery is a gift, but it cannot be realised without these facilitators. This applies to ALL walks of life.
noah never fails to make me smile
How many years before the holes undermines the dams structural integrity?
Supposedly it does very little damage, like a mosquito bite really
wow... excellent video dude! so cool to see the bts scoop
I’m always super impressed by how some people’s brains work and that they can figure out how to create something like this! It’s really fascinating
Great vid, cant wait to get on this. Cya soon
Incredible video! What an opportunity too!
oh dam that's a top notch vid! really interesting to see the setters perspective
Silly question: is drilling 12000 holes in to a dam at all detrimental to its ability to hold water😂?
there is so much concrete its really like a mosquito on a giant
“Find what you love and let it kill you” that’s deep
Awesome behind the scene video Noah 🤩
I wasnt aware this was only the second year of the dual ascent? Last year was an awesome event excited to see this years!
This years was EPIC!
What an awesome video, thank you so much, Noah!
Thanks Arina!
I can't believe they spend so long on each hold.
What do you mean? They’re not gratuitously hanging out.
That’s the problem with this whole red bull “extreme sport” shit. It attracts clueless non climbers to get weird ideas.
@@TesterAnimal1 I climb, and I'm not clueless about climbing. I just like trad climbing, and I don't know much about routesetting.
I didn't get introduced to climbing by Redbull either. Even if I was, what's wrong with that? Do you not want the sport growing?
@@wyattmadsonAs a relatively new climber, I don’t know why there’s so many gatekeepers online. At least, people are generally cool in person.
@@blackshot look at his profile. it seems like lots old school climbers gatekeep. not usually newer climbers though. everyone at the gym i go to is so nice.
@@TesterAnimal1There's no need to be rude, if somebody doesn't know something, teach them. Otherwise they won't change.
Drilling into a dam doesn't seem the smartest of ideas.
Can you see how thick the concrete is? If the dam can't hold up a few nails it's got bigger problems
Amazing video!
Thanks!
Imagine you're setting a route 150 m abovr the ground, and the hold falls...
right... apparently they have never dropped one though
Great video
Awesome video, I enjoyed watching this
Thanks for watching!
I would have a panic attack or something doing that
Me: What do like more as a route setter?
Him: The suffering
Haha climbers are a different breed
My respect to them, i could never do that
This is NUTS
Great video!
thanks!
Does 12,000 holes not harm the dam in any way? Im not a dam enthusiasts so explain it to me like im braindead
The concrete is very thick in comparison so it doesn't do any damage
@@shelby6 oh ok thanks for responding!
How do you get to climb it
wow
You should climb Mount Everest
one day
Steve!
How do they never drop stuff frome such above? Jajaja
Artificial climbing route.
looks like the dam from james bond
It is!
It IS the dam from james bond
If I got a Euro for every time somebody belays incorrectly …
How do you even go about to start this off? "Hi, we'd like to drill holes in your dam!"
😮
No potato cams :(
Unfortunately there are no cracks in the dam to place - otherwise this would be a potato trad comp for sure
@@NoahKane… or *fortunately*!
I dont think the people should climb these objects unless they have a rope conected to them.
agreed
Am I the only one who thinks you should not be drilling holes in a dam???
Its like a little pin on a wall so there won't be any impact on the dam.
what a horrible dam, destroying a stunning river.
You mean lake
