Hard agree on Doomsday Clock. I ADORED that story. I haven't read the others in your list other than White Knight. I dropped my weekly comic habit after Rebirth ended. Looks like I'm going to have to dip in and get the Warworld Saga collection! Great recommendations!
Looks like we have pretty similar taste in DC comics. Admittedly your list helped inspire mine 10: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 9:Batman: White Knight 8: Mister Miracle by Tom King 7: DCeased (tied with DCeased Dead Planet) 6: Man and Superman 5: Rogues 4: Hawkman: Hawks Eternal 3: Jeremy Adams Flash Arc 1 2: Doomsday Clock 1: Action Comics: The Warworld saga
Here is my Top 10 Favorite DC Comics from the past 5 years: 10. Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow 9. The Question: The Deaths Of Vic Sage 8. Justice League: Last Ride 7. DCEASED 6. Batman: White Knight 5. Flash Forward 4. Robin & Batman 3. Superman: The Warworld Saga 2. Doomsday Clock 1. The Flash: Blink Of An Eye
Great list man and as for me I loved doomsday clock too it was really awesome and freaking amazing and plus felt like a great ending to dc rebirth like it was supposed to be from the very beginning, I also loved warworld saga and Superman rebirth which has Clark kent and Lois lane being great parents to there son Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self and super sons I thought was amazing from the last 5 years at least in my opinion, also I would liked to add in Jeremy Adams entire flash run from beginning to end was freaking amazing and one of the best ongoing wally west flash comics runs I read in a very long time in my opinion, also I agree Dceased by tom Taylor was freaking fantastic and the best zombie story in a superhero universe I read from the very beginning to its end at least in my opinion, but other then that I think these are my choices for the best dc comics arcs i read from the last 5 years I hope you enjoy them and have a great day today.
Great list man. Could you do one for Marvel if you make more of these kind of vids Top 10 Dc story arcs in no order for me were Doomsday clock, Batman universe, Dceased, man and Superman, up in the sky, rogues, white knight, warworld saga, Mr miracle by Tom king, and Batman imposter
Warworld Saga was a banger. I like when Superman is portrayed as a kind of champion of the oppressed. Very cool lore with Mongul and I enjoyed the Authority's role in the story. Also since you mentioned Flash Forward, I'd recommend checking out One Minute War from the recent Jeremy Adams run on Flash. A lot of dramatic action moments but it knows to have fun at the same time with some funny banter between the characters
For me I’d have to put TT’s Nightwing vol 1, B/S WF vol 2, Mr Miracle, Supergirl WOT, White Knight (modern Batman classic), Rogues, Williamson’s Superman, Batman: The Knight, Dark Knights of Steel, and Static Season 1 (2021) in no particular order. I’ve also only read consistently from 2021 onwards so my list might be a bit more biased.
Totally agree with you on Doomsday Clock! I feel like Metal took priority at DC and took the wind out of Doomsday Clock’s sails. Love how you break down these lists
Really glad to see a few more people like you talk about Nightwing the Untouchable lately. I think that's the best story that the Nightwing ongoing book has ever had.
Agree on Doomsday clock. Its a good story, also Geoff Johns saved DC's ass by giving logical explanation for these constant reboots and retkons, Which turned to be a great story. And regarding Watchmen Sequel, If Alan Moore had his own way, we would have seen multiple sequels and prequels by this time.
16:28 dude I have the Absolute edition of Doomsday Clock and it is an amazing format to have this book in I absolutely love it Gary Frank is Legendary in this story
Same! DC's Absolute editions are my favorite format for collected editions. I can't wait to pick up Absolute Superman by Geoff Johns & Gary Frank in May.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer ooo dude I lost my mind when I heard tht announcement I can’t wait to get that one too I do find it a little annoying that Geoff Johns still doesn’t have an omnibus for his Superman run when he definitely deserves one
I had to sub when I saw Doomsday Clock as your number #1. Amazing book. I'll defend that book till the day I die. PD: It feels more like Watchmen response than a sequel.
Doomsday Clock was to serve the bigger picture as for DC Rebirth. It was going to restore DC to it's true identity of hope and aspirational character's like Superman. Too bad it got completely derailed for Dark Knight Metal and Bendis. DC Rebirth was DC last shot at reaching the fans of the comics. It's been downhill ever since they ended DC Rebirth.
Doomsday clock had a lot of good story beats and ideas, but being in the format of a Watchmen sequel held it down (Johns might say one thing, but it was clearly advertised as Watchmen 2). It didn't have to be 12 issues, have the 9 panels, the quotes at the end etc. It would've been better as a rehashed Infinite crisis with some watchmen tropes. Also the release schedule and the disregard DC continuity had to doomsday clock post rebirth in favor for Dark Multiverse stuff didn't help.
I hated Rogues. Nothing really happened and I didn't like Joshua Williamson's characterizations. To the point I dropped it at a free book exchange because I found it so disappointing and never wanted to lay eyes on it again. Otherwise agree. Loved Warworld because it isolated Superman from all the bad stuff going on on DC universe Earth (including his weirdo gay son and his creepy sociopath pink hair boyfriend.) Stopped Superman when he got back to Earth.
Hey boss, great vid! I’ll have to check out those books. But by chance, have you seen anything about what they’ve done with deadshot since rebirth? I saw a panel of him with Superman reassuring him, and I wanted to see if those books were any good. Also because of the recent nonsense with the suicide squad game lmao
Thanks! I haven't caught up with Deadshot. I wish he'd get his own solo title but sadly he's stuck in the Suicide Squad books and those have been pretty bad in recent years.
can’t believe you didn’t put the new hawkgirl comic on the list considering how much you adore it.
So good I completely forgot it existed
The king has risen on my birthday!
Thank you, I am in rare form today.
Happy Birthday!

I fucking love Doomsday Clock I think it's so underrated and I don't think there has been a DC event or book since Doomsday that is as good

Hawkman by Venditi was awesome! It was 4 volumes total and each one of the kicked ass!
Great list man. Could you do one for Marvel if you make more of these kind of vids

Great to have you back, man. Rebirth era Nightwing was super underrated. It felt like a nice follow-up to Morrison's Batman, and Black Mirror.
Thanks man! Good to be back. Rebirth era had some great stuff, and then, Ric.....

war world saga brought me back to comics
Dceased is one of my favorite comic runs in recent years. I have the entire series in hardcover.

Thanks! Completely agree, definitely fees more like a response to Watchmen than a straight up sequel.

I would also add Harleen by Stjepan Šejić. In my opinion, the best Harley Quinn origin story.
And also, is that a Geiger shirt? 🤩
I like your list, but I think the run of Jermery Adams Flash should be in the top 10. That run is amazing.
Surprised Dark Knights of Steel not here.
