Great things come to those who…forget! Sometimes being a nerd and collecting faster and more than we can follow leads to unexpected “surprises”. I just now finished going through my collection of sample miniatures because I heard that the wax paper seal inside the cap can deteriorate and lead to cardboard funk flavors (any experience with this?), and discovered a beautiful 25yo Ardbeg!
From my understanding, the boiler can have a great effect on the distillate character, due to hot spots and subsequent Maillard reactions. I would assume that they would be afraid at changing the characteristics of their whisky if they swapped out for an electric boiler. Though, with enough research, I'm sure they could build something that may be able to mimic these hot spots?
Nice story, it was pleasure to watch 🤩🥂🙋🏻♂️
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm extremely jealous!!!
This was very nice!

Sorry - I don't have any samples here with wax

sounds like a lame excuse - but maybe you are right
Nice bottle(s). Btw how much bottles can you bring from the UK to the EU in a trip? Does every bottle has to go through customs?
basically as much as I want - I just have to pay customs on those bottles
