I think his +25 attack speed talent at lvl 15 is somewhat undervalued by a lot of people. Both TB and his illusions benefit from the attack speed as you mentioned, and in addition he has a lower base attack time (BAT) than most other heroes, which means he makes use of extra attack speed better than other heroes. I'm pretty much always looking to take this talent at lvl 15 unless I'm worried about severe burst/magic nukes from the enemies. Those issues can also be mitigated by the fact that S&Y and Dragon Lance are in favor for TB right now, which both give him good HP and can make up for not going for the HP talent

Hey bsj another important thing about farming with tb is to only use at max 2 unit (tb + 1 illu or 2 illu) for the centaur and the tomato camp so that you dont gros stunned clapped. The clap is really strong against tb early game.

the moment you outplay dudes with illus is so good. Early game I also use my illus to body block offlaners who are chasing my support and to deny enemy runes

i remember ages ago you talked about itemization vs some super tough matchups such as constant nukers like Tinker and Zeus that just makes tb's life more and more miserable as the game goes on, would you still recommend going all-in with that blink bkb build (maybe plus aghs) and hit that timing window?
also, is diffusal ever viable? i never see people build it for some reason..
I lost my first 8 games with terrorblade, after that I realized I hadn´t been cutting waves properly, Now the enemy team have to deal with this pushes contantly. This video make me think more a about where should I be on the map and when to use meta. Keep it up!

liked the guide! as an observation, i think you could have covered blink dagger and aghanim's scepter, is it that they are not so important or you forgot? i'm a legend 5 player ascending quite fast and i've been getting scepter in maybe 10% of my games and dagger in 20/25% with extremely good results...
I think Witch Doctor is actually a hero that can be really annoying and you might be worried about. Since you have illusions often near you he can cask you, then maledict, then ult and he'll get the kill often.

Brewmaster ult instakills illusions with the blue panda AOE and in lane he can make you miss CS or slap magic AOE on you. Used to play offlane brew a lot and I had a pretty good time against TBs
Tornado is also good for kiting his meta

BSJ I love these but if you could add time stamps to these it would be great. For example to rewatch counters and stuff it'd be awesome to be able to easily go back to specific points of the guide.
@BananaSlamJamma Are wraith bands still the best value in lane for stats now that they now give armour instead of just stats (which TB has an abundance of anyway)? would it potentially be better to rush elveskins to build into dragon lance/treads? or maybe some casual slippers instead of full wraith band?
Also, is quelling blade ever good? Maybe when you know you cant get meta lvl1 in lane?

one thing i noticed back in 7.26 was that illusions no longer give xp to the main hero.
i was a illusion hero spammer that abused that mechanic ( jungle the main hero, manta illu on a mid lane, skill illu on another lane ).
What do you think about farming rotation for illu heroes, should you farm the lanes with your main hero as well?
dont think illusions ever gave xp without hero being nearby post 7.00 atleast

Just practicing illutions heros, and what you mentioned, in a losing game with Terrorblade the 30k networth, the rest of my team 8k networth the enemies cores all 27k networth 😣
I think you forgot to mention how epic reflection is against Luna. I used to take the -10 sec reflection CD talent earlier and Luna ended up killing her own wyvern and lion in reflection with Moon Glaives bouncing across the enemy team xD
On the other hand, Luna kills his Illusions even faster, has a shit load of armor as well AND burst's him down with her Ulti. Luna counters him. Say's I, say's DotaBuff.

i used to use quickcast and cast togheter to see the aoe but there is a realy good setting that u can have quickcast and see the aoe:
settings_options_advanced options_disable the third one (quickcast on key down)
it is also rly good for pangolier q
and if u wanna see the difference check it with pango first

TB hp pool is so low. it's a must against magic gives like 20-25% hp

Can you please explain armor? You said, thats because of high armor, minus armor is not as affective. I heard someone say, minus armor is really effective, if you can bring your enemies to 0 amor. Which begs for me the question: Why is that? Isnt every point of armor the same EHP increase?????
TheMehkey every point of armor increase is the same but taking armor away is a different ratio. Dont remember the math behind it rn but you should be able to find it. Tb has such high armor you would not feasibly be able to bring it to 0 or negative
Any minus armour that can't bring a hero to 0 or below is less effective and better replaced with magical damage, hence why you see physical damage heroes building MKB against TB as a stop gap ;-)
To look into the 0 and minus armour interactions, you're on your own, shit gets weird, lol.
theres diminishing returns... minus armor is less effective when enemies have high armor.... for example.
36 armor = 68% resist, attacked by deso : 36-6=30 = 64% resist... that's 4% resist reduction
10armor = 36% resist, attacked by deso : 10-6= 18% resist... that's a staggering 18% resist reduction !

These are not hotkeys, they are "control groups" . You assign a hotkey for a control group through dota settings. Then in-game, you select the illusion, hold ctrl then press the control group hotkey. From now onwards, whenever you press that particular hotkey, you will select the illusion.
You can have several control groups.
Revenant6 so if I create a W illusion on TB and CTRL+control group key. Now on all illusions created by W will be under that control group? Or I have to do that every time I summon an illusion?

what to build against a bb?
Tell your teammates to get Pipe of Insight and Vessel. In fights, avoid hitting him and let the teammates who have magic burst handle him.
In case your team doesn't have magic burst, ignore Bristle till you have to use Tsunder.
Axe bullies terrorblade the hardest in my experience

The hardest counter to TB is Tinker.
The worst matchup is juggernaut vs terrorblade. I picked jug yesterday and the opponents counter picked terrorblade. Omnislash is insignificant against terror blades high armour.

It seems strange to me that mask of madness isn't more common on heroes that plan to go into satanic butterfly.
The armour reduction from the active is probably the issue. Keeps you from being able to use it to fight and be aggressive, and the stats (minus the active) aren't that great for the price. 1775 gold for 10 attack speed and 15 attack dmg? The active can also be purged and the silence allows you to be kited or bursted without being able to react. It's relatively cheap though and gives more lifesteal than vlads for a lower price. It is also the most cost effective attack speed item in the game. So it's got it's merits. The fact it disassembles into satanic and other items is makes it a really good transition item too.
@The Real Jezzy C I'm looking at it from the point of view that it increases your farm speed by more than any other item, and even if you never pop the active in fights it's not useless. If you're going sny, butterfly, satanic, then you're disassembling it super early. You're basically just getting a free farm accelerator since you're not "spending" any money on it. I understand that this logic is somewhat flawed because by the same token you're not "spending" money on midas, since you eventually make it back and more - you undertake some opportunity cost by having these items sit in your inventory for a decent amount of gold. I think mom is especially undervalued on heroes that buy casual morbid like morph. I understand that the active is unusable in a fight, but it helps you farm a lot faster, especially ancient camps. It's basically a moon shard with 37.5% uptime, that disassembles into good lategame items, and only costs you an additional 875 gold off of the morbid mask.
@@BLUFFIRL I agree it has it's merits and I usually like buying it on heroes that specifically benefit from the attack speed boost. My favorites are Bloodseeker, Faceless Void, and Troll Warlord. There are certainly a few carries that benefit from this item, but to be honest the item is better on carries who peak earlier and fight sooner rather than hyper carries who peak in the late game.
Heros like Faceloid Void are great MoM carriers because they have a passive bash and he isn't really worried about being hit back in a fight. So he can use it to both farm and fight. Anybody with some sort of crit or passive dmg increase that benefits from attack speed will already benefit more from it. Sven is another hero that benefits from using it to farm early on since he's got a passive cleave and it greatly increaases his dps, allowing him to farm creep camps in 1-2 seconds. I liked the item on Troll Warlord because by the time the active ends you have built up a large amount of fervor stacks, allowing you to stay at a high attack speed for a longer period of time. Completely disintegrating any enemy. I've tried MoM on Ursa too and it works great for farming and fighting against certain matchups.
Heros like Anti-Mage, Spectre, TB, and Morphling however don't necessarily benefit from the item as much as they would from a casual morbid mask since they use their abilities to farm. As a result, any added gpm from killing a creep camp slightly earlier is wasted since it takes them longer to hit the next camp. It's additionally wasteful on TB because his illusions don't benefit from the active iirc. In a case like this I think Meteor Hammer might not be a bad option if you can get an early timing.
Heros like Alch and Morphling already have a MoM like ability that they use to farm and fight so you're effectively spending 1775 gold for more of what you already have. A casual Morbid Mask does practically the same job. I used to build MoM on Bloodseeker before his change to bloodlust too, since the added lifesteal from MoM and thirst made you seriously unkillable against 1 or 2 opponents.
