I wish you had more time to put these videos out, but I know it is VERY time consuming. Thank you for all you do. Always enjoyed.
I had a chuckle when you came on the scene and the officer said, "I looked at the situation; call Ron." Have you thought of allowing your videos to be used for training tow truck operators?
Best sign that you do a good job if you ask me. XD
The Trooper said it all: "It was a simple deal, but I was like.. Call Ron.." Can't argue with that :) Kudos from Norway.. again ..
That was considerate of the driver making the driveshaft easily accessible for you.
And the brake cylinders, which have to be caged, don't forget.
ya'll made me lol ;))
Brake chambers, but we know what you meant.
LOL... on your reply...............
Actually air brake chambers, but yea we knew what you meant lol... He had to "T" bolt them.
And welcome to a new episode of "Better call Ron!"
Cool. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Anybody else holding their head sideways while he's in the truck trying to pull the air brake? lol
I did haha
Hello Ron. I found your videos by accident, and now I'm hooked (all puns intended, I assure you). You're a very good operator of both rotators and flatbeds - but what impresses me more is your basic attitude. Polite, calm, friendly - you sure are a role model in that regard. Yes, we all got our flaws, but you manage to set very high standards both professionally and personally.
I can also only applaud you for your rules in selecting the videos - not to show pics of accidents with fatalities is "the right thing to do" in my opinion - you want to showcase your work, not satisfy the morbid curiosity of the yellow-press consumers, like so many other youtubers would. The same goes for keeping "potty mouth" out of your videos (and your comment section) - it's much more family-friendly that way. Sometimes I really wonder weather people still can voice differing opinions without using multiple swearwords or getting downright personal.
I also noticed that you build quite a reputation with the officers in blue - "Just get Ron" that one said. After watching quite a lot of your videos, I guess I know why: Fast and reliable road-clearance with no additional problems.
So, with greetings from Germany: All the best for you and your coworkers. Stay safe, keep the roadside clean of wrecks, and good luck, I'll be watching ;)
See why I continue to subscribe? I have seen other recovery type videos and they could take many lessons from Ron and his crew. Painful to watch many of the others, but a true joy to watch this team in action.
CalebBlackhan6
Also I would like to add to his comment not only is Ron polite and professional but in his videos with his workers they're also polite
I agree with you, and I also, had found his channel by accident in June of last year. And he's always had that calm demeanor especially teaching the newer guys within his Company on the way of doing that job. As he always says there's different ways to come to the conclusion sum of 10. And another thing that strikes me about him when they're on a scene. He will ask the opinions of all that's working the scene for the removal of vehicles or Tractor Trailers.
You know it's going to be a good day when Mr. Pratt posts a video. God Bless You Ron
A good day for us, but a bad day for someone else. At least they had Ron come to their rescue!
Rocket 21brs i
I love the way you are mindful of other people's property!
Hey Ron, With all the stuff you keep putting into the cupboards of that truck you are soon going to be hauling a trailer....
"That is going to be a problem to upright so we will just call Ron."
Great teamwork guys!
Ron, in your words, Thank you for letting us watch and God Bless to you and yours. Jim
You are very welcome. God bles.s
Another outstanding achievement by Ron Pratt and the Midwest Trucking Crew. Thanks for sharing Ron, keep up the great work and God bless you and the rest of the Midwest Trucking family.
you tow truck/wrecker drivers are kinda the unsung hero's no body knows about
You continue to amaze me with your concern for so many things that really make a difference. Putting the extra effort to protect State property from damage and doing as little harm as possible to the customer's equipment makes you stand out in the towing/recovery industry. With over 20 years in fire/rescue work, I have seen a lot of different situations that were not handled nearly as professional as your approach. I live about 130 miles from where you are located and hope to drive over one day to say hello. Your really have a heart of compassion for people who are in difficult circumstances when you first meet them. Thank you for being a great example to others.
He is careful not to damage a vehicle when the owner is standing near him saying it is totaled
Love Watching you do recovery's . Your video's are Amazing , and Informative ...The Best Ron , You and Talon make quite a team.
Im gald to see that the driver was ok and that cop had your back and again god bless to you and your family and friends and i will always love watching what you do every day and night and to keep all of the family and friends and i will always
God bless you and your team Ron
Dear Mr. Pratt. Thank you for the interesting video. As always, another great job completed.
My best to you, your family and the crew of Midwest Truck Inc.
GOD Bless You All.
I found you by accident and have been watching your videos for days - thoroughly enjoyable! But I have to ask, with all that's going on at a scene like this & all that I'm sure is on your mind, how on earth do you keep track of chains, straps, o rings & d rings, etc and not leave half of your truck behind, especially on a dark rainy night like this? And even with multiple trucks there, how do your keep each truck's tools straight? Boggles my mind how quickly & accurately you work!
One thing that helps is when he unhooks something it puts it right back on the truck instead of laying down on the ground somewhere.
Grimsoul Blackheart - That and the cost of the chains is in the hundreds or some even thousands of dollars to replace.
Just been introduced in Western Australia this month " Slow down move over laws " to protect you guys and police etc ,They must have been watching This channel. "Well done"
Good work Ron! The boy has grown a lot a year! He's a real man!
Greetings from winter and cold in Finland!
Lauri Korkeila Yeah. Talon is shaping into the role.. many trips for on scene experience and I assume pulling "junkers" back and forth in the shop yard.
Man, that one was a lot trickier from beginning to end than I expected. Great job being safe and efficient as always Ron and Talon! He (Talon) is getting better every time I see him. Sharp young man. :) God bless you guys and everyone else here in the comment section as well.
Ron This is a great example of re-directs and pulley leverage. Rotation and technical sliding makes these difficult jobs possible. You use a lot of different types of chains, straps and special devices to get the job done. Take care and thanks for sharing these videos. God bless you and your crew. Mel
Great video!! My husband and I just found it and will be watching more of them. Keep'em coming
Am I right in that he slid sideways (judging by the massive ruts,) about 200 feet or so until the right tires finally hooked and he went over? If that's so, that must have been a wild ride for a few seconds. Probably needed to change pants!!!
Another great video, Ron!
Farmer getting the ground ready early........
Another great save. Even in the dark.
God Bless and Hugs, Now go get warm and some rest.
Glad to see another video Ron 😉 Thank you for what you & your crew do!
I assume the driver will be looking for employment?
As always awesome job and video, May God keep you all safe, God bless you all. Ron and Crew... Cheers
I wonder if I'll end up with some of those auto parts down the line a bit? Explains how new parts arrive with crushed boxes and scuffed paint. :)
God bless you guys. Thanks for putting the rubber-side down for us all! 👍
Love to here " Call Ron " from the trooper
As a EMT / Firefighters for 14 years I have seen a lot of bad accidents. I think some of these incidents could be educational for some of the younger generation the consequences texting and driving, Drinking and driving and just not paying attention.
Not to mention the things you have to emotionally deal with it takes a strong person to deal with the bad accident it's not all peaches and cream.
Be safe Ron and crew.
I've been missing you Ron! Great work by you and Talon on a filthy night.
(Here we go, another (probably useless) invention by Penny!) When you are dragging a truck sideways over wet grass, the tyres always dig in. Would a couple of flat 'sleds' with a bull nose help? Slid under the tyres you are pulling, with the bull nose facing the direction of travel, they would cut down on strain to the anchor points, and leave less damage to the ground. Or would that just be more to carry for little return?
Anyway, stay safe and God bless you and yours Ron, from a very, very snowy Scotland (My village was cut off for a couple of days until some lads from our street grabbed their shovels and dug the road out this afternoon).
Actually, that sounds like a wonderful idea!! I will have to consider options. They make small versions of your idea for our rollbacks---tilt deck trucks. We call them skates and they work to reduce friction when loading/unloading a vehicle. A larger version might be a good idea. Not sure about the storage, as that is already an issue with my truck. Here's a link to something similar. Thanks and God bless. zips.com/parts-detail/iti-large-tire-skate-t-s-large
Hey Ron,,, I dont comment often but I seen this vid that another company and an idea that they made and I thought you May like it... it seems cheap and easy to built ruclips.net/video/5xZ35bt9CyY/видео.html Its a sing that says move over its the law with flashing lights on it... #towlivesmatter
Oh and I sat in class this morning as soon as you uploaded this vid I watched it XD I Love your vids Ron ;) Take care and God bless
back in the 60's my dad worked for a tow company. they used a cut up section of 50's car hood under the wheels to slide the vehical sideways.
Nice idea.
Maybe something like this here:
www.mtd-oberland-store.de/WebRoot/Store5/Shops/78200266/5536/9ED0/7B02/27B5/93D1/C0A8/2ABA/FE12/Faltsignal_Klett_tagesleuchtend_700_mm_Feuerwehr_Unfall_Oelunfall_ml.jpg
Could be useful for that.
On the black spots you can place signs with everything you want like "Move Over" or "Accident Ahead!" or something.
And there is the option that you can place a yellow light on top of it.
Since you already carry the heavy aluminum angle, maybe attaching the skates to them would help with sideways pulls? A pin through the skate to a keyhole slot in the angle?
Hey Ron didn't know that gymnastics was a part of your job description!!! Lol
Love the longer format videos! I have them playing in the background at work (im a mechanic) I can't tell you how often your vids gather the other techs around my toolbox.
That little 26' fought back every inch of the way, Ron. Another excellent job!
Please keep safe at night im gald that the cops and fire department and cops that have your back on the road from again from Michelle madson from happy valley in Oregon and god bless to you and your family and friends and i will always love watching what you do every day and night and to keep all of the family and friends and i will always s safe so that you all can go home to wife and kids and god bless to you too
Ron, once again an outstanding video. You have no idea how much I appreciate all your wonderful work you do to produce such great videos. God bless you and all the folk that get to work with you!
I like how you know you equipment and where everything is at on the ‘ROTATER’.
On nights like this , I wish I could bring you a hot cup of cocoa 😁
I'm just curious...... but what does a job like this one cost to have done?
Happy to see ya ,get worried when ya absent
Another awesome job and video by Ron Pratt and Mid West trucks. Have a great weekend and God Bless!!!
Hey ron you need me there im 6'8" tall i can reach all the high stuff for you i wont even need a ladder.
Ron like I always say you can do miracles God bless you brother
wow he is such a YOUNG driver
he almost knows nothing about his load.... 1st mistake in any professional truck drivers career
Bad weather to work in, Great video, thanks for sharing.
Hey Ron. I really enjoy watching your videos. I've been untrusted on getting into towing myself.
I've heard you mention how people will get over better when the police are there. Have you ever thought of maybe making some kind of light bar with the red and blue lights, to put say behind the semi you're hooking up to. Blue lights definitely get drivers attention better than anything else and they'd be able to see it. Your truck is sometimes blocked by the customer's vehicle. I'm envisioning something like this portable fold up saw horses with lights on one side. That's just something that occurred to me while watching your videos. Be safe out there and God bless you and family!
I enjoy watching your videos, you always seem to get the interesting calls. I work for a towing and recovery company in south FL. I have learned a lot watching you rig up the different casualties.
How busy are you with doing heavy recovery work?
Excellent team work nice roll. You have done a very good job training Talon
"Dadgummit" at 27:23. What a miserable night! Amazing as always, Ron. Thanks for the explanations of what you were doing and why.
That's my inner "Mater" coming out with the "dadgummit". Glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching and God bless.
That was my Dad's word, and also "Sam Hill", but he had to quit saying that one when he met a man with that name.
Ron, love your video's but when you edit them can you filter out that god forsaken warning beeper that goes off ever time you move a boom or anything. It's getting really annoying ...
Top dollar video
Another great job you Ron and Talon did.
What a night.. wet, rainy, slippery, sloppy, greasy, etc. You and Talon did an admirable job getting that poor truck out of it's precarious parking position. I know that truck feels pretty stupid for parking there in the first place ;) . lol On the serious side, I do believe that your truck needs at least 2 more big doors in it to hold all the stuff you are now carrying. I noticed the new white "tarp-like" things you were carrying, and was wondering.. hmm.. wonder if there's a way to make the tow truck just a wee bit longer to put in more carrying bays??? Then I realized that it would really upset the integrity of the truck. Maybe strap them to the top of the truck????? (under plastic of course), but then I realized that would interfere with the boom. Man, you need a bigger truck.. Thank you for stopping long enough in your busy day to post this. God Bless and keep safe. Glad to watch Beast and Beast Jr. at work. :)
Wind can be a real problem for light load or empty trailered or box trucks. High winds tipped FOUR of them within one half hour on I-80 just Friday (03-02-18) by tip of Great Salt Lake, Utah.
I have worked many rollovers due to high wind. That could have been the cause here, but I do not know. Thanks for watching and God bless.
GREAT VIDEO RON!!!! STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS!
Nice job thank you for video taping this call
ANOTHER GREAT JOB MR. RON AND MR. TALON.
I LOVE IT WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR SON AND MR. TALON OUT WITH YOU.

Almost 1million subscribers! I’ve been with you from 100
How long have you been doing this you are very good at what you do
I love your videos. Have only been watching them for about a week, but very professional, very informative and educational! God Bless.
Great video
Thanks Ron, video is great as always. Very fitting for March too, that landing was nothing but net! Madness
Boom up and pull low this way you get down force on the recovery vehicle and pulling the box truck up from the mud. he's to far away for this to really work. It's all about the stupid math LOL and physics which never fails .....
Ron, looks like you can add Gymnast to your long resume. Another solid, safe recovery. You make the tough tows look simple.
Good job thank you for the videos God bless you all the time by safe out there on the road
Ron Pratt I see you got some work lights they are doing a vary good job of lighting the scene up. stay safe and god bless.
Yes, I like them very much. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Mr. Ron, Love the videos. My only wish is that you would categorize them as a Code"3" response, a non Code "3" response, a customers request for help,or even a funny one , etc. Being a retired firefight I still enjoy seeing the trucks respond. I truly believe A&E, Discovery or any other TV channels need to have your company on TV!! These other tow companies seem to break down more then they tow. Anyways that is what I think.
As always, the work of an 'artificer'! Two thumbs up!
RON Pratt, you are the Bomb,no,situation,no complication is to
Difficult. Nice work again!
Thank you very much. God bless.
You and a Talon made that look Easy and the landing was Real Smooth.
I don't see anywhere on the truck or anything about taxi service. I only see Midwest Truck and stuff.
How is it your all's responsibility to drive him back to Memphis? Unless it's not that far from you all?
You want to know how you know that it’s slick out. I had a s-10 truck with no weight in the back no four wheel drive option. I had two accidents in one day on the second accident we called the police and they were getting into accidents themselves trying to make it to calls. I think that is why MI is still a no-fault insurance state!! They have tried to overturn the law several times but it’s been unsuccessful so far! Before I get comments about me being a bad driver I have lots of successful stories believe me. I was driving over a mountain in WVA with my wife’s ford ranger. I had people yelling at me to turn back. I kept going and made it over the mountain with no issues.
RON , I always enjoy the videos , PLEASE turn the music down . Thanks , Dennis R.
In my Country (Germany) the firefighters had place a Floodlight for Safety and Work.
Yall set that thing over so gently. Nice work
A pleasure to watch such a professional, bonus when he is such a nice guy.
My 94 years old mother love watching you .... she wants to know why you grunt so much..she really love what you do and she loves Jesus too Her name I'd Lue..
Hello.
Good luck on the way.
I don’t understand why he didn’t know how much weight he had.... he should of had a BOL even if it was preloaded....that would have told him. I have hauled “ghost” loads before but never like that. For those that don’t know what a ghost load is... it is a load where the receiver thinks that it is coming from a different location then what it actually did.
I love to watch you all.
Ron, I have compared your work with other recovery companies and told them to learn from you on how to do the work and yet get things visible to understand what is happening. I guess it worked because they have been careful too show what they are doing and not showing long minutes studying the ground.
I am not a tow truck driver, but when you started to swing the back end up to the road, the wheel was plowing a lot of dirt. Wouldn’t it have been better to lift and pull directly from the boom?
My dad drove a wrecker in the 60s .I love to watch your videos with him it brings back some memories from his days of towing .
What was that you did to the brake? A mechanical override? 30.19
at least the driver is safe
Ron, you and your teams are much more safety conscious, thank god.
Do you ever wonder how some of the truckers managed to do some of theas accidents... but love the vids.. stay safe.. and have you noticed that wen thers traffic the trucks move over quicker more than the normal cars
it's like the mini cooper 'but bigger at least he was not stuck in ice:)
That young lad Talon has come on in leaps and bounds, a real asset.
Great video thank you for sharing God Bless 👍🇺🇸😎
Hi again sir It would be great for you and your working partners if you had a hydraulic light beacon fitted on your truck so you could see a lot more at night time and it would be easier and a lot safer for you if you had this thanks again for this great video take care and god bless you sir
Frim scott city to Memphis? Dang thats a drive back and forth.
us all do a grat jobs I love watching your movies
I love those Dewalt work lamps!!! Some of the best lights I’ve ever bought!
Great job as usual. Been watching "Highway Thru Hell" - Those boys got some hellish elevations to work with.
Also COLD, Slippery, Remote, Dark most of the time, Dangerous slopes, long hours/no sleep.
You always seem to know the orientation. When you opened the driver's door it took me a second to figure out what I was looking at. I'm not used to looking into the cab with the truck on its side. I guess you've seen them on either side, upside down, or straight down on their grill. Stay safe.
I have seen them in many, many orientations, yes. It isn't uncommon for me to have to climb in for various reasons. Thanks for watching and God bless.
