Are you kidding? He totally owns her. Sure, the judge overrules his objections, but his constant objections severely interrupt witness accounts and I don't think the jury gets to hear a good record of what happened. My man certainly knows what he is doing! Very impressive. I bet he gets acquitted. More criminals should adopt this defense.

Late comment, but this foundational law won’t be changed. The judge spent about two hours explaining the benefit of counsel.
Additionally, this is why we have due process: he’s assumed innocent until convicted by a jury of his peers. In legal terms, this was actually a then innocent person representing himself.
The nice thing is that due to the overwhelming evidence, the judge’s saintly patience, and Mr. Brooks’ abhorrent behavior, he won’t have a chance even if he is granted an appeal.

At 4:39 it does look like Mr. Brooks is hanging out of the window just like the police officer is testifying about. You can see movement by the window area and it looks like a white/grey shirt is leaning out.
Also it bothers me so much that Mr. Brooks is constantly interrupting court proceedings. He clearly does not know what speculative and Hearsay are. He asked for more time because it is not fair for him to go through all that material. He wants to represent himself, was told what Wisconsin law is. You can not have a standby lawyer to help you out. Now he wants a standby lawyer. The judge told him she could not give him legal advice, now he wants her give him legal advice.
The best, he said he never waived his right to a speedy trial and is complaining that they should have started earlier but wants more time because he doesn’t know the law and has to go through all the discoveries.

He is trying his best to have the case thrown out? Get the conviction overturn on appeal if he is found guilty.
It was interesting to see him lose his cool when the prosecutor said what prior bad acts they would have to bring into court if he kept questioning his ex girlfriend.
Also my opinion I think his mama is trying to help him discredit his ex girlfriend. I don’t think he gets her testimony still doesn’t get him found not guilty when they have multiple witnesses who saw him driving and obviously video of him driving.

He is fishing for criminal contempt of court so that he can delay the trial more. Criminal contempt comes with being held in jail for a set period of time or until the party agrees to behave. The judge has said she will not do it since he is already in custody and it would allow him to profit from his misdeeds. The precedent from the case she has cited repeatedly, Illinois vs Allen, is being properly applied and he has no leg to stand on when it comes to being removed from the courtroom.
As to his mother, she doesn't think he is necessarily a bad person just has mental health problems, but as to using her to impeach his baby momma, im not sure. I think he wanted to torment her more since its already proven he is abusive towards her.
