  • Demoing my mini pedalboard setup. I walk you through my pedals, what I like about them, as well as play through some of my favourite tones and pedal combinations.
    A Mini Pedalboard is a really versatile tool. It's great for Sessions, Travel, and Fly Gigs where you have to pack a lot of tone into a small, easy-to-carry board.
    This pedalboard has served me well for the last 18 months, I've pretty much got all bases covered. Here are the details:
    Guitar: 1997 Fender USA Standard Strat
    Amp: Fender Blues Junior III
    The Board: Pedaltrain Metro 16
    Power Supply: Strymon Ojai
    Pedals (in order for signal chain):
    1. TC Electronic Polytune Mini
    2. Wampler Tumnus
    3. Trex Effects Alberta
    4. EHX Micro Q Tron
    5. Walrus Audio ARP- 87
    6. Strymon Flint
    I hope this video provides some inspiration if you're looking to build a mini pedalboard of your own. If you're a guitar player who just wants to consolidate their pedals into a more managable board that requires less tap dancing then I hope this video helps.
    If you have any questions about my mini pedalboard then please feel free to reach out in the comments below!

    Hi Chris, I also love the Flint! The harmonic tremolo is just super lush... I recently consolidated my big pedalboard following the 90/10 rule and I halved the number of pedals on it: Tuner, Phase 90, TS Mini, Boss BD-2, Carbon Copy and Flint. More than enough. I don't eccessively use chorus and I can fake it with an analog delay and modulated repeats and in my case the delay is used as background wash rather than a rythmic device. I learnt to use more the volume knob on my guitar to clean up the sound and I take advantage of my humbucker splitter as well to get some single coil tones.

      Yeah the Flint is a desert island pedal for me! Really great choices on your board man! Less is definitely more, it's an approach I took this year as well. Utilising the controls on your guitar to further sculpt your tonal options is a great way to increase the versatility of your rig! Really appreciate you watching this video! Great to connect with you mate!

    That Q-rton, I can't quite get it working live. It either won't bite or it's too much gain. How do you gig yours?

    • @ChrisHarveyGuitar
      @ChrisHarveyGuitar  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching man! I’ve not actually gigged this yet unfortunately! I find the sweet spot is having a boost on in front of it to drive/trigger the filter. That tends to give a more consistent “quack”. I also like to have the Q control around 11am and the Drive up around 2pm

    • @mrlukejanthony
      @mrlukejanthony 3 года назад +1

      @@ChrisHarveyGuitar Thanks, Chris! I went to check mine and that's exactly where I had it set too! Yes it does work better with the drive in front, but live I couldn't really get it working in a controlled way. Maybe I'll just have to stick to home / studio use!
