The main reason to ditch the pick is it keeps getting lost. I tried Chris Buck's style but still, the pick keeps bothering me when it got lost or is misplaced.

How do you set your input gain when using these models?

It’s refreshing to get out of the scales and just show your creativity by flowing with feeling what you can add from your imagination and freedom to express anything that you want . So many vids say Bill developed the pedal because bars he wanted his amp to sound like it was breaking up at a lower volume. But your saying it was designed to be used on top of an amp at breakup.

keep following your own sound. the ubiquitous tones most social media guitarists use are still a little too overdriven. usually as a crutch. if you ever run out of inspiration just go back and listen to King Knopfler. Also early Deep Purple, Ritchie was a lot cleaner than most people remember. Thanks for reminding me about the middle pickup. you sound great 🙏

I use the Way Huge Attack Vector to get that Jamiroquai sound. It’s an envelope filer and phaser in one. You have three options, Phaser, Envelope Filter or both. I use it for Jamiroquai, Daft Punk and Parliament Funkadelic sound. Octave pedals pair really well with Envelope filters too

If you learn the Major Scale pattern and explore it across at least all six strings vertically with three notes per string, touch on the neighboring notes around the pattern and then practice starting the scale on the first note and then the second and then the third and so on... You've just discovered all of the relative modes for that major scale. It's not two scales for the price of one. It's at LEAST seven! Just remember that when you start from a new note that you play through to the octave of that note to hear that scale's character. (Ex: 3rd fret on the low E string to the 5th fret on the D string is an octave) Also remember to limit yourself to just the notes present in the major scale. You aren't playing the same exact pattern on a new starting note, that's just another Major scale. You play within the scale notes but at different starting positions. Have fun! I hope this was helpful for some!

Just got a Les Paul Jr a few months ago and it has really been an eye opening experience I was of the mind more is better when actually the simpler is the best

I use a Rat, setting it with lowish settings you get an overdrive sound from it, I haven't tried a Klon although I have heard it and quite like it.

Good advice re using main EQ vs amp-EQ. I also find keeping amp-gain low lets me blend in a bit of the amp without it taking over. I like to use Logic's Distortion in a parallel track.

Recording reels vertically is a bit of a challenge for a guitar player because you can't capture the width of the guitar unless you back off substantially from the camera, which isn't practical in my smallish work space. Any suggestions for this dilemma?

Really good vid, I have my QTRON+ after my OD's and before my Delays. However, I have noticed it gives a natural boost whenever i turn it on as well. Wonder if it is only for QTRON+ not the Nanos.

I'd go further and suggest using a full stereo plug-in setup with effects pedals AND a mid-side acoustic recording setup for that extra dry sound possibility. Blend those 2 stereo tracks to taste and you get a huge stereo sound! Try it. You might like it.

On the slap setting of the arp you need to turn the subdivision knob. I had that issue for a long time until I finally worked out that because I always felt it was too fast. The last subdivision gives you a more usable slap

Late comment but I'll do it anyway. That was some immaculate playing! Really tasteful and elegant man! I purchased this envelope filter because I thought it would give me this groovy funk sound. Evidently, you managed to skillfully display this type of playing. I am really having a hard time to use his one. My ears are piercing because it gets suddenly to loud and the lows and high are way out of control. It probably has to do with to my playing and the attack. Still, I cannot keep it in a way that it sound stable, it's either going super loud or not at all. Not sure if I can convey the issue here. I try to be aware of the picking dynamics like you mentioned but it's hard to find a setting where you can start to experiment with.
