    Really enjoyed it. Thanks!
    Until RUclips, I never realized that there was a P&W guitar community, let alone gearheads and composers. Glad I found out!
    Keep up the great work my friend

    Like... a simple pedal board the covers all the bases. I really like the drive pedal. The affordable TC pedal did the trick.

    Nice information, It's all about the amp......I always relied on my amp and one over-drive that's it. Less is more...Thanks for sharing! Best Wishes

    Thanks for this one, brother. I've been starting to sing at church over the last couple months. And I have found that my main big board that I use for lead guitar is a bit too complicated for when I'm singing as well and not playing a lot of solos. I use the Strymon Flint, Boss DD-8, Xotic SL Drive or Fulltone OCD depending on my mood, JHS Screamer and either a Blues Driver or JHS Morning Glory for that always on pedal. So much easier to negotiate when I'm singing. Thank you for this video.

    Korg Pitchblack Mini (tuner)
    Mooer Yellow Comp (optical compressor)
    Keeley D&M Drive (dual drive - boost & overdrive)
    tc electronic Flashback 2 (delay)
    Boss RV6 (reverb)

    • @EnterJustice

      @@GettinBetterWithDave oh, it's a bit bigger than yours. Bit overkill but oh well:
      - xw-1 wah
      - polytune mini 3
      - cali76 (for percussive clean or light drive stuff, sometimes as a boost)
      - a fuzz (keeley fuzz bender, jam red muck, boss fz-1w,...) or high-gain pedal (jam rattler, ocd,...)
      - archer ikon klone
      - protein or gladio (dual drive)
      - julianna chorus
      - iridium (ampless)
      - el capistan delay
      - flint verb&trem
      Sometimes I use the deco, or the twin peaks trem too. I'm a fan of the polychrome as well, though I prefer trem and chorus most of the time.

    • @GettinBetterWithDave
      @GettinBetterWithDave  Год назад

      @@EnterJustice that's a killer setup! I've got an Iridium as well. I've wanted a Deco for a while. How ofter do you change out pedals? Do you swap for different gigs or just the mood you're in?

    • @EnterJustice
      @EnterJustice Год назад +1

      @@GettinBetterWithDave The deco is truly awesome! I don't strictly need it, but it can add *something* to anything.
      I mostly play around with different sounds at home when practicing. For a gig I might switch a couple of pedals depending on the songs on the setlist or if we want to do a specific effect. It's mostly the gain pedals that get switched out.

    You need a buffer at the front of your chain. Or a boss tuner in place of the tuner you has as the boss pedals have built in buffer. It will help your tone for sure

    • @TonyTrupp
      @TonyTrupp 7 месяцев назад +1

      Not really, the difference with a buffer is barely noticeable (especially at the front of the chain) except with a very long cable. Can be mostly compensated by turning up the treble a little. If anything the buffer should go at the end.

    • @GettinBetterWithDave
      @GettinBetterWithDave  5 месяцев назад

      I like a buffer on bigger boards with more pedals and cable to run through. The fewer pedals you have, the less it is necessary to use a buffer. Thanks for watching!

    • @GettinBetterWithDave
      @GettinBetterWithDave  2 месяца назад

      This board could easily go stereo out but at the time made this video, most of the places I was playing only had enough channels for mono electrics. I'm now stereo all the time and it's wonderful. Thanks for the comment!
      Do you play a stereo rig? What do you use?

    Great video! Trying to get into leading worship on electric and the world of pedals and effects is quite daunting lol. Thanks for the idea for a small setup here. Question for you. Been leading with mostly acoustic for the past 15 years or so. When I lead on electric I am constantly knocking the guitar out of tune. My left hand is chording to heavy for the guitars I have used. I end up going out of tune about every song. Not a problem when I am on acoustic. Any thoughts or ideas on how I can remedy this until I get my muscle memory to loosen up on electric. Know of a good electric or better strings that will hold tuning consistently?

    • @GettinBetterWithDave
      @GettinBetterWithDave  4 года назад +1

      I have a couple thoughts. If you find that you are sounding out of but your tuner says the strings are in tune, you might try heavier strings AND OR check the height of the nut. If the nut is cut too tall, you can pull strings out of tune just by fretting anything below the 4th fret.
      If your guitar just won't stay in tune, I'll look at replacing the tuning machines and adding some kind of string lubricant.
