Sure, fish will definitely hit these little jigs with these plastics, however, what about hook-up percentage, especially when compared to texas rigs. The glaring problem or challenge I've experienced with the "elaztech" material is it sticks to the hook shaft and point - it doesn't allow for the hook-point to become exposed easily when a fish sucks it in thus making it impossible to set the hook in the fish's mouth. Even if the hook point does become exposed, the bait is adhered to the hook too tightly with a tiny gap between the hook point and bait. Traditional t-rigged plastics with EWG hooks and bullet weights are superior, especially when tweaked so the hook-point becomes exposed more and easier. One simple way of doing this is when the hook shaft is through the bait, work a larger hole in the bait so the bait moves on the shaft away from the hook-point faster and easier.
