Fake. Wise boomers in youtube comments have told us over and over that young people can't be bothered to learn how to play real instruments. So this is obviously a deep fake.
A truly marvelous lesson. I honestly expected to be bored to tears at the revelation of 'its major versus minor pentatonics', but the way you delved into that really made great sense, particularly overlaying of major and minor in the same position rather than thinking of the relative majos and minors. Yes more challenging but so much better for mixing the two flavors and mastering the fretboard. Kudos. Aloha.
If you listen carefully to how BB king, Buddy guy and Hendrix plays the blues, They are combining the minor and major pentatonic scales. That's make the blues sound,, Blues is not just minor pentatonic men,
Wow, so practical and simple. I have already mapped out the major and minor pentatonic shapes that are next to each other and will practice combining them a little each day. Thanks so much! I’ve also noticed that you can get a similar effect by playing in the Dorian mode and occasionally bending up to the major 3rd. Dorian + major 3rd has the notes of the major and minor pentatonic added together.
Thanks for the tutorial but I think you might want to rethink your view of the blues. B B King, Eric Clapton, Matt Schofield just to name a few mixing major and minor pentatonic.
hmmm... I disagree with his simplification of the difference. Good blues players use major notes (major pentatonic) over the 1 chord in a major blues.. The difference between blues and country are in what they are aiming to do. Blues aims to sound like a crying mother (sometimes a manic one) which is why blues pulls at our soul. Country licks aim to sound cool, using out of the ordinary double stops and bends that deviate from vocal aspect of blues.... You are welcome.
This is a great insight! I’m trying to combine it with the two-string pentatonic shapes approach I got from a Dweezil Zappa workshop, and it makes the differences really visible.
