I've been trying to use this feature but I find it so hit and miss, if the contrast is low it shows out of focus, the areas in focus are not very visible over the other coloured blocks, while it looks so super cool, I find focus peaking more useful in practice (though also not perfect).
I have not noticed that. It has typically worked very well for me but I don't use it as much as you would think. I actually forget that it is in there sometimes.
@@BrianTheCameraGuy I've tried mapping a key to it now to see if I use it more, let's see :)
Does it work for still photography?
Hi Jody. Unfortunately, no focus mapping only works in video. Are you thinking about picking up this camera?
@@BrianTheCameraGuy Just thinking about upgrading from 7 3 - or getting a new lens. Hmmm
I had the a7c and upgraded to the a7iv. I find it to be worth it if you can sell off your old camera. This camera is definitely an upgrade on video even with the 4k 60p crop!! I also think the photos are really nice.
