Guys.. He just saved an owl from drowning, no need to bring up the "don't intervene with nature blahblahblah" statements. There is literally no down side to saving that owl from an unfortunate situation, if it was being hunted, the situation would have been different. It was stuck in a bush, they took time out of their day to help it out, big whoop. If you'd seriously just float on by while watching something drown to death without even batting an eye that's good for you. We have intelligence and empathy for a reason. Who cares if this animal wouldn't do the same for me? I'm sure there are plenty of humans who wouldn't do the same for me either, but that wouldn't deter me from saving said human from drowning, so why should it stop me from saving an owl?
This is the internet, people will always find a reason to complain. He would have got just as many negative comments, if not more if he'd left it to drown.
People are just regurgitating what they heard without thinking. Every living thing on this earth interferes with the other. When the lion steals a kill from the leopard, guess what, it just interferes. That's not much different from a person interfering. So it's not about interfering but preserving. We are so advanced that we can determine the fate of most species on earth (except the micro organisms that, ironically, can determine our fate!). That means we must know when to intervene and when not.
Does anybody realize the people making these videos are doing it on purpose? They injure an animal, then get in their boats, throw it in the water then make a video that gets 1m views. Cha Ching.
Pular... How delusional do you have to be to not recognize that there is a financial motivation to these kind of videos. They're all over RUclips getting millions of views.

@@hellothere7389 but for a BUNCH of people to be saying that there is haters that must mean that their are a BUNCH of unhidden hate comments. William W Yes, I know that. Maybe I should rephrase my comment to say that we ALSO don't have alot of them left in the US either. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
+Isabel Goss, barn owls are everywhere pretty much except for Antarctica. However, they originated from Europe. The two best known races are the Barn Owl of Europe, and the North American Barn Owl. In North America, the barn owl inhabits almost every state. They are most common along the eastern seaboard states, the Gulf states, and the entire west. www.barnowlbox.com/barn-owl-biology/. I would look up some more, but I really don't have the time! If you can find something else about this, please post it as my curiosity has been raised! We do have barn owls in America, I have seen them all my life. Not often, mind you, but sometimes. :-)
+Isabel Goss, I thought he meant that particular owl was not rescued in America. I did a little research on the barn owl and my post above ^^^^ is what I found. I have seen and heard barn owls all my life, and your comment really confused me! :-/
My wife and I live near a golf course. One of the golfers saw a baby Barn Owl floundering around in the grass. It had a deformed (not broken) leg and spine. We could only guess that it fell (or was pushed) out of a nearby nest. It would have died right there at the golf course if not rescued. Through social media, the golfer contacted my wife and asked if she could care for it until it could fly. So we agreed to take it in. Vets would not treat it because they are not licensed to treat raptors. This owl was a female and we named her Clover. She was so young she still had the white fuzzy feathers. We knew she would have no chance surviving in the wild. We made a home for her here. We fell in love with her and she with us. For the next four months we raised her the best we knew how. We fed her two medium size mice in the morning and two at night. We'd buy 100 frozen mice, thaw them out and warm them up. Clover would absolutely gobble those mice. Her deformed leg had a clenched talon. She could not catch and hold a live mouse with only one functional talon. Plus, her deformed leg always kept her off balance. After about four months, she stopped eating. Two days later she died on my wife's lap. She was barely breathing and finally took her last breath. She became such a part of our lives. She had such a personality. She loved sitting on our lap while we stroked her neck. She never bit us, but she would give us little love nibbles. She loved her life. Our hearts are absolutely broken.
Pray the gov doesn't see this post if you live in the states. There's a whole department dedicated to making people's lives miserable, cuz iTs iLLeGaL tO tOuCh birds of prey. You will get fined for even picking up the feathers.
most owls don't have oils because it can make the sound of flapping much louder... having no oils means they're not as waterproof as other birds, but they do fly more silently :)
@@Rocky-hm2ho Well, if birds making nests by scavenging resources is nature, and otters using rocks to crack shells is nature, and humans are a species that exists in the natural order, then yes, technically any creation due to the natural urges of humanity is a byproduct of nature! 🤔 😉
Reminds me of Nika Zubre. She's gotten a lot of shit for keeping her Eagle owl Yoll. Problem is that Yoll is not a wild animal, she had been raised in captivity and doesn't know how to hunt. Not too mention Yoll doesn't like flying
Still, owl is an owl, they all behave the same. Barn owl is pretty, but I wouldn't rank anything as "best" based on personal opinions on aesthetics alone.
Never abandon an owl. Owls only swim if they HAVE to, like catching prey in water. An owl's feathers are not like a duck. They absorb water like your hair and can drown. Lucky owl to have been saved.
shizukagozen777 Why are you thanking him personally? And who wouldn't do the same thing in that situation? You make sound like you are Queen of the Owls or a family member.
Mark Hepworth WT... First I'm queen of nothing. Second, some people are mean with animals (I know what I'm saying) so no, everyone would not do that. I'm an animal lover and I too would have tried to save it if I was there. I always feel very glad when people are kind with animals and even if animals are most of the time grateful for saving them, saying thank you in place of them won't kill me. Btw I don't say thank you on every video, but I feel the need to say it here.

Mark Hepworth lol no need to make a big deal about shizukagozen777. She was just saying that he deserves thanks for being a good person and saving that owl. .....
About 4 decades ago there were only about 100 couples of these owls left in our country. Thanks to the help of researchers and volunteers there are about 2500 couples in the Netherlands these days. Migration, reproduction and survival are carefully monitored. Therefore this one has a leg ring. The Barn owl is on our "red list" which meas that it's endangered and/or needs special attention. The use of DDT in the past almost wiped them out over here.
You did a good deed there, did you go and visit the vet to see the owl? I believe in it's own way the owl knew you helped him and probably appreciated it deep down. Although he was probably scared of the new people you handed him over too to begin with and the vet, once he recovered he probably realised everyone handling him helped.
I'm so glad you called someone to rehab the animal! People don't realize that even once these animals are dried off, they will have certain natural oils washed out of their feathers that they need to survive.
yessss owl needs another week at the rehab center to dip him in canola and coconot and macadamia oil and make his coafour back in place and only then he can be released
Owls are different in that they don't have oils because they would make flight noisy and let their prey get away. That is why they have a harder time in the water.
I don't think that the joking comments I saw were intended to mock or belittle the owl itself, I believe the comments were intended more as a comic relief of sorts, about the situation. True, the owl kept trying to fly away, because it is a wild creature, but it was also obviously in distress and exhausted. So the people were trying to help it, and it would get a little bit rested and try to escape from the strange humans. It is a little bit humorous, given that it was trying to "escape" from the very help it needed, and I am confident that all of us are glad that the owl survived, and that a wildlife rescue service was called and took the bird to care for it. As for the comments that people thought we should leave wildlife alone, I think in general this is a correct behavior, however, the animal was tired and in distress, and could be saved. So, why not save it? I am sure, that if God (or Allah, or Buddha, or whom ever your "higher power" is) wants that animal to perish, then as mere humans our efforts will not succeed. I think that people should always try to help when and where they can, whether it's an animal, a human, or a plant. Don't hurt or destroy something just to prove that you can. Besides, if we people are natural beings, then if our instincts are to be helpful, then is that not a natural act?
I once caught a little mouse in my house and tossed it out because I didn't want it in the house. I caught it under a plastic runner. Afterward I felt so bad because the poor mouse froze to death, no snow just cold in California. I thought the mouse would find shelter but sadly it didn't. This happened about 30 years ago and I still feel sad.
Many birds, like this owl, cannot take off from the water; their wings do not create the lift needed. They need to jump, or drop, into flight. He surely would have died left in the water. He was rather complacent, an indication he was not doing well, so I am glad that they called an animal rescue for rehabilitation.
Smart comment. Sometmies i worry people think that a wild animal is being friendly if it's not running/flying off. Chances are, something is wrong with it... I once had a wild mouse come right up to me and just stare at me and then run around near me like i didn't exist.. Wasn't sure what made him like that but it's not normal/healthy.
When a birds feathers are saturated with water the ability to take off and fly is hindered because the feathers clump together and can't obtain lift, yes he can flap, but then the bird drops like a rock, holding on to the bird and taking it to land to dry off a bit would have been your best bet. You are a hero for saving his life that's for sure, if it was not for you the little guy would die of starvation or dehydration so I say thank you sir for your good deed, I believe when you do an act of kindness towards mothernature she returns the favor, how did she return the favor you might ask, well you woke up the next day didn't you, there you go favor returned. huh thanks nature you rock.
Everyone's complaining about how they rescued the bird, but on a lake I doubt they had wifi and It's not common knowledge about how to rescue owls. They did the right thing getting it out of the water and it didn't die in the process. I've had had an owl on my arm , and those things are heavy with sharp talons, trying to stop it from flying could've been dangerous for the people.

@Vicks VaporRub Are you referring yourself a toxic person? It sounds like you do support minors who stare at their monitor screens and play fortnut all day yelling at other people.
Definitely a fledgling that had some bad luck. Thank you for helping this young bird, saving its life, handling it with care, proper action, and authorities.
If you are ever in a circumstance like this, wrap the owl in a T-shirt or something to keep them from trying to fly away. You can also put them in a cardboard box. It's helpful to cover their eyes.
I agree. Trying to let it perch allowed it to keep getting away, maybe causing more injury. It's not your friend. In it's eyes, you are planning to eat it. Covering it will allow it to relax, until you can get it to wildlife rescue.
A good tip would be to loosely wrap it in a coat to both help it to get warm/dry and to keep it calm (cover its head). If you or any one reads this and happens to need to rescue a large bird. Also, a good way to hold them is by the ankles, with their back to your chest, as I’m sure you figured out their feet are razor sharp. If you recieved any cuts, be sure to wash then we’ll and use antibiotic ointment. Thank you for your compassion!
He saved a life and showed the kindness of human. For those who said "don't intervene with nature", if you were the owl would you like this kind man to save you? Or you can ask him not to save you, because of "don't intervene with nature"? please be more encouraged and less criticize!
Just watched the footage of the beautiful owl being rescued and the gentleman should be thanked in my eyes. I see a lot of people getting quite agitated with their views below strangely . The man may have held the Bird incorrectly or maybe he should have just left him. Personally I feel he did a great deed and he handed the Bird to an animal rescue service by the end of the clip so even if that little owl had an injured wing he has another opportunity to get better and get back out there doing all the things owls do best. Without these lovely people out there helping to look after our wildlife and protect it our wildlife would be worse off without them. Not all our wildlife will be as lucky as that little owl. That's life unfortunately but he will have an opportunity to get back in the wild and that's brilliant.
its just the owl get damaged more than before, thats why so many people are upset. And if someone doesnt help wildlife to keep going, or doesnt help, i dont think thats a human.
"So this is how I die. Tangled up in bushes to drown." "Oh, no. These bipeds look like they're looking for an easy meal. I guess eaten to death is faster than drowning to death." "Wait, they're just leaving me alone? Well, SO LONG SUCKAS I'M OUT- oh I'm in water again." "Actually, this is pretty relaxing. Maybe I'll chill with these bipeds for a while." -Owl, probably.
For future reference, you should have covered the poor thing with your shirt and held it with its wings folded. That way it would be more relaxed and not tried to fly away. Other than that, what an uplifting video. Very well done. Anyone bitching about not intervening are not worth commenting about. 👍
Yes, very nice that they were calm and quiet. I live in Germany and the Dutch are very good people (they even have animal ambulance : ) And me also blmonkey, i was afraid for this man, wann he became close to these talons.
Hate how people say "Don't intervene with nature" because humans are a part of nature so by saying that you're saying don't live your life or interact with others. Pretty stupid if you think about it.
Geometry Dash Davez I agree with you in part, but not entirely. In some situations you could make things worse by intervening. I’d say, if you think you need to do something, contact your local, wildlife service or animal rescue people first. They know what they’re doing.
Jack Armitage I’m 56 and still growing to manhood, so I don’t mean that to be talking down to you, when I say this. But as you grow to manhood, take some time to live among rural people. Yes, with farmers, but not only farmers. Take the time to live with people in tiny rural communities among people who depend on the environment for their food. PETA will tell you that those people are evil because they kill animals in order to eat, but it’s way more complicated than that. The people who eat wild rabbits will also risk their lives to rescue a wild rabbit that got into a sticky situation. Or an owl, even. That attitude is something that urban kids need to learn. I hope, as your life unfolds, that you get to learn these things and don’t just stay in your own culture in your own part of the world as though the rest of the world didn’t exist. All the best for your life, young man.
Here's someone who did the rescue correctly. The animals should always be given to a wildlife rescue group so they can determine if there are any unseen injuries, dehydration, etc. Too many times people get animals out of predicaments and then unknowingly leave them to die, because additional help was necessary and not provided.
Now that's what a civilized society looks like. Ambulance service for animals. Here in the United States we barely have it for humans, unless you can afford it. And thank you Dad for teaching your son compassion and empathy for living creatures. If there were more fathers like you, teaching our young males this, there would be much less war, suffering and death in the world. All life has value.

That Owl has a metal tag on it's foot 3:44 It was either being studied or flew away from it's owner. I believe that was someone's pet, or was the property of a Zoo. Hence it's total lack of survival skills.
The tag is most likely a tracking device or identifying tag from a previous capture or it could have been raised in a program for rehabilitating the population of Barn Owls in which case it would have had a tag put on when released.
im glad he was saved. and for those in the comments going oh its so stupid or what not, while its true owls have sacrificed some intelligence for better eyesight and hearing, this is not the reason the owl kept jumping into the water. to it the people saving him were bigger predators who were targeting it in its weakest moment when its feathers were so waterlogged it couldn't fly away. and so it panicked. i also think it might have been going into shock as unlike other barn owls ive worked with at the wildlife center it did not hiss, or fake lunge for a bite or even try to bite. most barn owls have this defense mechanism where they spread their wings and do this little head wobble when they feel threatened by something and if you press it they will lunge at you as a bluff though its very rare they actually bite. this one however was making no noise and no attempts to act defensively. most likely cause it was exhausted but like i said i think it might possibly have been going into shock. the only thing i really can say i wish they had done differently was wrap the owl gently in a towel or shirt and place something over its eyes to keep it calm while in the boat. owls and other birds of prey are very sensitive to stimulation especially regarding eyesight and hearing. while you cant do anything about the hearing, having something over their eyes helps block out anything that would cause them stress. and wrapping them gently in a towel like how i suggested prevents them from thrashing about and potentially hurting themselves worse or even hurting you. lastly if you ever come across something like this please find your nearest wildlife center and call them or bring the bird to them as at least in the US it is illegal to keep native birds without a license due to them being protected by law. Most wildlife centers will have a phone number you can call and they will give you further directions on what to do from there.
idk could have lead pensioning, 3 years ago i saved a bald eagle from drowning while i was duck hunting and acted just like this owl. we called fish and game and the police station and the operator literally told me to kill the bird just don't do it publicly. So, i kept the eagle and fed it duck meat and fish for about 2 weeks, then we got ahold of some amazing wildlife reufge to come and pick him up, we named him bob saget and he was the nicest bird ive ever had. i tought him to sit on my shoulder and he would love to hang with us. instagram.com/p/BcFsPECAiIV/? that is him
@@levy5808 that could get you in major trouble as those birds are protected by law. Next time that happens take it immediately to your wildlife center. The centers have people who are trained to take care of those birds while limiting human interaction and reliance so that they may be eventually released back into the wild. Furthermore keeping feathers or anything from a bird of prey can also get you in serious trouble as well.
you're not really a humanitarian if you're doing it to impress your son, or if you're recording it on video. still glad he did it ofcourse, but if I did that, I wouldn't think to record it on my phone and post it online. actions taken in front of cameras are rarely earnest.
The man who saved the owl is its child’s father So sit down and behave and wait for instructions for what thay did Also the kid is holding the camera so he could not help. Plus he did help by calming the owl down
PS: When you hold a bird, in general you don't want to hold them around the neck because they can flap around and hurt themselves, you want to hold them like you would hold a foot ball, with their wings folded in
I found a racing Pigeon with a ring on its leg. It had blood on its wing and couldn't fly. I thought, there's a vet just up the road, I'll pick it up and walk there, pay for its initial treatment and the vet can track the owner. OMG. That Pigeon had the strength of ten men 😩 I battled with that bird all the way to the vets, it's wings clamped to its sides and it fought like a devil !! I had to hold it that strongly that I was sure it might pass out. I struggled in through the door, passed it over, left them with £20 and went to have a cup of tea to calm down. That bird was STRONG 🤕
You’re not accounting for the talons and cutting beak, for one. That could be dangerous. It depends on the type of bird. Every avian vet I’ve gone to with my large macaw grabs her around the neck-because if you put too much pressure on their chest by holding there they cannot fill their air sac lungs-so they can die that way from not being able to breathe properly. It sounds crazy because you’d think the same thing with their necks-but somehow they still breathe fine when you hold them there.
Human thing to do. I saved a baby owl that was almost killed by 2 crows. My girlfriend and I wanted to keep him. I turned owl over to W Virginia state police and they took him to vet rescue center. Just awesome animals.
I studied owls in an ornithology class I took in college. Very interesting birds. I also collected owl pellets for another college project to study the variety in their diet. All in all, my favorite bird.
@@cheesytaters1087 Crows aren't an endangered species, but many owls species are. Moreover, those crows likely had many other options to get a meal, such as rodents, bugs, or even berries (depending on time of year.) So it was perfectly reasonable to help out.

I love it when an animal can sense a human is trying to rescue it and doesn't mean it harm, and doesn't try to bite or otherwise attack them while they're at it. The most amazing one I've seen is the video "Hunters rescue deer from a wild pack of Coyotes. ***Warning***Graphic***", where three passers-by untangle the stuck-fast antlers of two formerly sparring bucks, one dead and partially eaten by coyotes taking advantage of the situation, and the other uninjured but struggling fruitlessly to pull its antlers out of the dead deer's before the coyotes get it too. Thanks for rescuing this guy! Interesting that it's been caught and tagged before -- that owl needs to learn to stay out of trouble. 🦉
Not sure what vid you watched but I watched the owl attempt to get away from this guy to the point where it jumped back into the river. It was scared, and would rather have just floated around weakly in the river then be in that boat. The owl was not sensing that the man was rescuing it.......it was just too weak and exhausted to fight. That aside I loved this vid, and I'm glad the man took the time to help, and that everything worked out.
@@kyan2632 maybe the weirdest thing we do is importing truck loads of stray cats and dogs from Eastern Europe. We have animal shortage in shelters, many people want to adopt a stray but we ran out of them a long time ago.
Lots to think about here. Depending on how long the bird's been in the water it could be hypothermic and needs to warm-up. It also needs to dry out before it can fly. Finally, it could be malnourished and needs to be fed. It's also possible it's a young bird still being fed by its parents. In any event you finally held it correctly. When you're not sure, call a local wildlife recovery center and they will help you. That said, you did a fantastic job saving the bird's life.
What a lot of trite rubbish people are talking about this poor owl. Have a bit of compassion. The bird almost certainly needed to dry out and have food. Thanks for helping.

Thanks for saving the owl and letting us know the outcome.
Cha Ching.
You're fking delusional Gavin.
Pular... How delusional do you have to be to not recognize that there is a financial motivation to these kind of videos. They're all over RUclips getting millions of views.

A Remedy Project Hello from America.
Sorry for you loss. Her life was short but full of love. RIP sweet Clover. ❤
Thank you for the love and compassion that you showed Clover for the short time that she was here with you. Many thanks! ❤ 😊

You did the best for her... Sad she passed but she had a good life and was loved. ❤❤
Never let a bird go until all its feathers are dry. They cannot fly with wet flight feathers. ✌️
Some birds have oils between their feathers so some can. You can let it go if you know for sure it can fly or whatever
Especially penguins.
And puffins
No owls have oils, though. Most other species do, but not them. Not sure why
most owls don't have oils because it can make the sound of flapping much louder... having no oils means they're not as waterproof as other birds, but they do fly more silently :)

Did you actually read this thread because I AM the one who said thank you...
So true wilard..where in the netherlands did u find this owl? I only see...other birds..

isnt that a waterowl?
I'm so glad you called someone to rehab the animal! People don't realize that even once these animals are dried off, they will have certain natural oils washed out of their feathers that they need to survive.
yessss
owl needs another week at the rehab center to dip him in canola and coconot and macadamia oil and make his coafour back in place and only then he can be released
Owls are different in that they don't have oils because they would make flight noisy and let their prey get away. That is why they have a harder time in the water.
those comments who mocking this poor owl are disgusting.
btw thank you for saving this owl, your doing right thing
Besides, if we people are natural beings, then if our instincts are to be helpful, then is that not a natural act?
its jokes, not mockery.

Many birds, like this owl, cannot take off from the water; their wings do not create the lift needed. They need to jump, or drop, into flight. He surely would have died left in the water. He was rather complacent, an indication he was not doing well, so I am glad that they called an animal rescue for rehabilitation.
Especially if their wings are wet..😎
Smart comment. Sometmies i worry people think that a wild animal is being friendly if it's not running/flying off. Chances are, something is wrong with it... I once had a wild mouse come right up to me and just stare at me and then run around near me like i didn't exist.. Wasn't sure what made him like that but it's not normal/healthy.
Is there a timestamp for your comment, or are you stating a "might have been" / "is likely to have been" as a fact?
@@kerryh3833 Which part are you questioning?
When a birds feathers are saturated with water the ability to take off and fly is hindered because the feathers clump together and can't obtain lift, yes he can flap, but then the bird drops like a rock, holding on to the bird and taking it to land to dry off a bit would have been your best bet.

What a great deed this man did,and the owl did too❤🌹

For future reference, you should have covered the poor thing with your shirt and held it with its wings folded. That way it would be more relaxed and not tried to fly away. Other than that, what an uplifting video. Very well done. Anyone bitching about not intervening are not worth commenting about. 👍

I'm 14 and this is deep.
@@wfcoaker1398 I read somewhere that P .E.T.A kills animals too. I believe that we should interfere if it is in our power to do so.
Here's someone who did the rescue correctly.
Fantastic save of this beautiful tired bird. Well done!
im glad he was saved. and for those in the comments going oh its so stupid or what not, while its true owls have sacrificed some intelligence for better eyesight and hearing, this is not the reason the owl kept jumping into the water. to it the people saving him were bigger predators who were targeting it in its weakest moment when its feathers were so waterlogged it couldn't fly away. and so it panicked. i also think it might have been going into shock as unlike other barn owls ive worked with at the wildlife center it did not hiss, or fake lunge for a bite or even try to bite. most barn owls have this defense mechanism where they spread their wings and do this little head wobble when they feel threatened by something and if you press it they will lunge at you as a bluff though its very rare they actually bite. this one however was making no noise and no attempts to act defensively. most likely cause it was exhausted but like i said i think it might possibly have been going into shock. the only thing i really can say i wish they had done differently was wrap the owl gently in a towel or shirt and place something over its eyes to keep it calm while in the boat. owls and other birds of prey are very sensitive to stimulation especially regarding eyesight and hearing. while you cant do anything about the hearing, having something over their eyes helps block out anything that would cause them stress. and wrapping them gently in a towel like how i suggested prevents them from thrashing about and potentially hurting themselves worse or even hurting you. lastly if you ever come across something like this please find your nearest wildlife center and call them or bring the bird to them as at least in the US it is illegal to keep native birds without a license due to them being protected by law. Most wildlife centers will have a phone number you can call and they will give you further directions on what to do from there.

Also the kid is holding the camera so he could not help.
Plus he did help by calming the owl down
Unoriginal
Thank you for saving this beautiful owl! Bless you.
Glad that the humans were there to save the poor baby. Thank you. Europe seems to respect animals much more than North America.
Great info thank you
They probably have very little experience with birds so they didn't know
@@vmm5163 Lucky you had the strength of eleven men I guess.
@@macylouwho1187 The same with my cockatiel.
Thank you for saving the poor owl from drowning. You are great people.
god bless you for saving this owl for almost drowning. have an amazing day/night.

the owl was all "thanks. i'd buy you a beer but, i'm an owl"
Thank you for saving the beautiful owl

Human thing to do. I saved a baby owl that was almost killed by 2 crows. My girlfriend and I wanted to keep him. I turned owl over to W Virginia state police and they took him to vet rescue center. Just awesome animals.
Larry Dallas Don’t intervene with nature man...
Larry Dallas Was the Owl left for dead or was it still getting attacked?
I studied owls in an ornithology class I took in college. Very interesting birds. I also collected owl pellets for another college project to study the variety in their diet. All in all, my favorite bird.
@@cheesytaters1087 Crows aren't an endangered species, but many owls species are. Moreover, those crows likely had many other options to get a meal, such as rodents, bugs, or even berries (depending on time of year.) So it was perfectly reasonable to help out.
@ᚪᚢᛏᚢᛗ ᚱᚪᛇᛝᚹᚪᛏᛠᚱ Might not be a psychopath, could just be ignorant about when it's appropriate vs. inappropriate to intervene.
Good job Williard. Thos blackberry bushes are nasty thorny things You can see how they wound around his wings and neck. Can't help but congratulate you on a job well done. Glad you have your fingers and face without a scratch. Nicely done !!!
That moment when you watch rescue videos and realise they are in your own language for once
WingedSteffi yup
WingedSteffi none of them are ever in irish, my language
Mint Bear53 Thats to bad. I personally dislike dutch youtubers. Its just unexpected watching videos and reconicing the language that caught me off guard. I didnt even notice it at first to be honest.
+WingedSteffi you have an animal ambulance?? I don't think we have that in Germany...
TheOccO we do, I think we have several from different organisations. really non in germany, that cant be true Thats terrible!!
the bird got the message at last that you were trying to help it...Good job saving it
aside from the fact that i have a big soft spot for the dutch people, this father and son duo are just great. so calm and friendly.
in the right place at the right time. and the father set a great example as a human being for his son.
also i'm simply amazed that there seems to be an emergency call and ambulance for animals in the netherlands. how cool is that?! verder, nederland, je doet het goed!
*Owl repeatedly tries to commit suicide*
Human:"not on my watch"
Owl: "existence is pain"
damn birb, youre so relateable
Sky Waterer then go get some help, Jesus.
Whys there a lot of these suiciders on the internet

He says they are/we're on an endangered list. Less than 200 animals 40yrsago. Now 10× that. That's why it's tagged.
I don’t think this owl knew it was being rescued, probably thought it was about to be a snack and was too tired to care.
They have an animal ambulance?! That's AWESOME!!!!!!
In the Netherlands we also have an animal police and there is even a political party for animals.
@@buddy1155 LOL
@@buddy1155 Oh my god, that's awesome!
@@kyan2632 maybe the weirdest thing we do is importing truck loads of stray cats and dogs from Eastern Europe. We have animal shortage in shelters, many people want to adopt a stray but we ran out of them a long time ago.
It always brings a tear to my eye when I get the privilege to see fellow mankind being kind and loving to God's other creatures-God bless you!
And may Darwin praise you.
The bird was released after recovering in a bird of prey shelter (it's in the discription below the name of the video 😊 )
That is such a pure video. Thank you for that.
I'm glad the owl was rescued but I can't get over the animal ambulance that came to pick it up!! So cool! 😲
This Does Put A Smile On My Face
What a beautiful story and an amazing job saving this stunning creature. Be very proud. Thank you for what you did.

My man! good work! good person! And thanks to the animal medical Van that picked him up!
What a lot of trite rubbish people are talking about this poor owl. Have a bit of compassion. The bird almost certainly needed to dry out and have food. Thanks for helping.
So just remember, don't put your hand under an owls claws like this guy does. They are razor sharp. Wrap their legs up in one hand.
Amen.

that's exactly what i was thinking
i thought he was going to get cut up at first
Yes, the people who put rings to their legs always take them by leg, you can get really bad infection from owl claw cuts. They kill rodents etc. with them after all.
They are SUPER sharp. A literal killing machine.
Lucky little owl. I'm glad you found it in time :)
thank you for saving him!!!

Thank you for saving this animal!
Amazing how the owl was relaxed when the kind father held it.
It was most likely exhausted.
Danke !!! Thank you for your doing. You were a héro caring for this beautiful owl.
Oh hey Soren . The Guardians are looking for you
Looks more like Kludd
Yes! I wasn't the only one thinking of Soren xD (btw yes it's spelled with only one r, not two)
That was a good series. I was thinking of it too and I was wondering if I was the only one. I haven't actually read that series in over five years, and it's still one of my favourites
Lmao! I forgot those books existed 😅
No that's Kludd
Only he thought Soren burnt his entire body off
bless your soul for saving that beautiful creature🦉🥰
I love seeing people helping animals. It gives me hope.
thank you for caring and doing the right thing god bless you
Your son's face says everything!!! What an amazing heart you have 💖 I was feeling down but you made my day 😊😊😊 Thank you for sharing with us. Greetings from Colombia, south America
The owl was exhausted plus he had sodden plumage. Flying away was out of the question. Thank you Willard for saving that guy.
That was so so thoughtful and clearly the owl was frightened. Good job 👍🏾

This Owl is so docile, owls here in Brasil would rip off your hand if you catch it barehanded.
Daniel Macedo he was probably exhausted.
There are a few here in North America that would too. This is a small owl here.
@Cekku-W-9 GFO sip
@TheLaughingMan0603 no he actually can.
The same for all owls. This one was probably too exhausted. Lucky they didnt get their arms and legs shreded.
When saving predator birds secure their feet in one gloved hand. Their beaks can't do near as much damage as their talons
I love all birds.
Owls are just so cool!
Thumbs up for the rescue and care organizations that take care of injured owls and teach them how to swim.
