I went to GC, and listened to the 10's vs all, and these had the best sound, and volume. I was just going to use em to play back drum tracks. The next day, I went and got these. For a decent size venue, they'd make excellent PA speakers. For a home system, make sure the foundation on the house is sturdy. Great investment!

I went to guitar center, I listened to ALL the big names and these shined over all. The price point and power, the clearity blew me away. Alto is on top right now. Side by side they beat $1000 dollar speakers. I brought them on the spot and never looked back.I get a lot of questions and compliments. Never clipped. Total Bargain, get a set b4 the goes up in price.

I'm glad to hear you thought Altos sounded best because I did too! I've always had top brands including QSC and to me a pair of TS315 sounded fuller and punchier than new k12.2. Are you still liking them Paul?

I went to GC today expecting to buy an EV 12 inch powered speaker. I listened to the EV and alto 12 and 15 inch speakers. I listened with dance, rock, country and acoustic music. I was surprised to find that I liked the sound of the Altos better. I ended up buying the Alto 12 inch for 150 less than the EV. When I got home I tried it with my phone using an adapter wire. I liked the sound but decided to try the contour button. That really did the trick. I then tried it with a Yamaha mixer using a microphone, AE guitar and beat buddy. It sounds very good with the contour button on. I also tried it with my Fishman loudbox mini using the XLR out and it works great. I then daisy chained it to a 15 inch Harbinger and that works fine as well but the 12 inch Alto sounds much better than my 15 inch Harbinger in my opinion. The EV was an excellent sounding speaker as well and has an extra imput as well as Bluetooth built-in. So if Bluetooth is important to you you may want that speaker. Alto does sell a Bluetooth XLR adapter for around 50 dollars that you can use as well with the additional benefit of being able to use it for other amps and speakers with XLR imputs. Whatever you choose enjoy !

The contour is tgere to compensate for the Fletcher munson effect. At low volume lows and highs become less present...so the contour is addded to give the speaker more oomph at lower volumes. At high volumes the contour will cause speaker distortion

It all depends on the style of band.. Guitar and vocals this will be perfect but if you have drums or anything else like that it probably wouldn’t hurt to get a sub or two. Because he’s a really good pies in mid range but Maybe not have a tremendous amount of bass.. They do sound good don’t get me wrong and do thump, But if you’re wanting to shake a bar or club I will get a sub or two

Alto has a device called the Bluetooth Total it can make any speaker a Bluetooth Speaker and it's very easy to set up and use. Good luck.

Luckily I haven’t had that problem yet. And I’ve been beating the hell out of them for the past five years.

omg... do you research your item and know what your talking about? 30 - 35lbs?? 3:33 just gibberish coz this bit is important but you say you wont get into it? the microphone jack is known as a XLR or cannon jack. anyway i'm going to go watch a more competent reviewer of these speakers.

Yeah, I haven’t had that problem yet but I have heard this is a major problem with the speakers,, that the horns just aren’t good.
