I have full range of TS3 series 10, 12, 15 in tops and pairs of matching subs 12, 15 and 18.
    Never blown any HF driver.
I am sound guy for band/s and provide support to a DJ company.
DJs typically want loud and expect to do it on 2 x TS315 without using any subs! First mistake. If you need to fill a room add more tops and stop overdriving the line inputs, hence never pip over 0dB... go study what +3dB into orange zone on your desk main outs is actually doing. The Alto subs have matching crossovers to feed it's tops with selections from 8inch to 15inch. DJs blow the HF drivers because too much LF (bleed) finds its way through the inbuilt crossover unit of the tops to the HF drivers when not using an Alto powerd sub.
For a band you need to keep out the kick drum and bass guitar from your tops. I always use an outboard crossover unit sending different audio to the tops and subs. In this case I do not feed the tops via the Alto subs, I run separate lines.
Full band for 300 people at rock concert levels indoors I use 4 x TS315. Two a side giving +3dB coupling as primary left right of stage with 4 x TS312 as side fills and 2 x TS310 as centre stage front fills doubled back to back with the stage monitors. With this I add either 2 x TS315S one left and right with 4 x TS312S centre front of stage with no spacing between. The coupling between all 6 is insane with minimal power alleys. The other option with less subs is 2 x TS318S with 2 x TS315S vertically stacked, however sitting pretty left right of the stage creates significant power alleys. The 4 x TS312S centred works a charm. Bigger drivers is not better unless one is outdoors.
Do not underestimate the TS310. I built a bracket to mount 4 of them in a 120 degree horizontal curved array and hoisted on a truss not less than 2.5 metres high, as MF-HF flown centre fill. Remember that the 2000Watt rating is peak and that the LF driver is 700Watt RMS and the HF is 300Watt RMS so it is a clean 1000 Watt RMS. Multiply that by 4 and add at least +6dB coupling... That TS310 array pushes 5000 Watts RMS. I used this along with 6 x 15inch and 4 x 12inch tops (total of 14 tops) with 4 x Dual 18 inch Wharfedale x218B for an outdoor trans party leaving all Alto subs out of the mix. We received complaints from a neighbouring farmer 8km away! Go Alto Go!
All tops and subs were fed from a crossover unit and a number of audio splitters giving each pair of tops its own direct feed. PS you cannot daisy chain multiple Alto speakers using in and out more than once. Each direct feed can only feed one extra Alto on the "through" re in pairs.
Rule number 1: Never set the Alto gain/volume past its top centre 0dB mark... 3mins past has been my safest push.
Rule 2: you mains out level on your mixing desk/console must sit comfortably in the green. Certain songs may occasionally light up the first orange LED...
Rule 3: If you are using Alto tops for live bands you must use a crossover unit or the kick drum will cause the LF driver to slap even though the tops are handling everything else comfortably. I set mine to 90Hz which still allows for a great range on the TS315 tops and champions vocals, lead and rythem guitars, keys and synth. I also start rolling off from about 5KHz as the Altos are known to be very fresh with loads of air.
Apply these rules and your gear will live to see many shows.
Always know that a good sound engineer will produce better sound on a cost saving PA than an idiot on a PA at 4 to 10 times the price.
I am the proud owner of 22 x Alto TS3 series. With this collection at the right price I am able to set up 3 venues comfortably with quality sound worth every cent where capacity in my game is key. For the same financial investment, what can I do with 2 or 4 point source Meyer Sound loudspeakers! Nothing... One gig with no subs 😔

Great video! I still own and occasionally use the Alto TS115W (W is the Bluetooth). These (Ts315s) appear to be a step or 2 up. I have had a horn shut down for a second or two when I was really pushing the speakers. (Twice in 5 years) Thought it might be my controller or something but learned through those whose share on line that it can be common on my Model. (Have not heard of this issue on the 3 series). I’ve found that if I keep my Treble knob downtown around 1/2 or 2/3s when I am at really load levels, I have no issues. While listening, you can’t really notice the small reductions in the highs.
I have also owned the Alto Black Series which is STRONG!!!I Wonder if some of the tech on the 3 series came from the Black series.
I still have one of my subs from the Black Series and plan on using it with my old TS115W

Thanks for this video and your straight to the point explanation. I bought two TS115a 's 7 yours ago. For low budget speakers they sound awesome and they've never let me down. A year later I've bought two TS118S sub's to go with them. Although they're good sub's they're to heavy and big for easy transport. I should have bought a second pair of TS115a 's instead. Everybody 's talking about RCF Evox, Electro Voice Evolve's, Turbosound IP range nowadays, sure they're great, but 5 or 6 times the price of an Alto's TS315's. Are they worth this price difference?

Ive had my alto ts212's for almost 4years and still going strong the only reason why people blow the high driver is cause they dont check to see if they are clipping if you treat them well they can last years and years

There are other reasons like when the contour is used then the EQ on the controller mixer is adjusted causing extra stress on the tweeter. Best to leave it flat and EQ from the mixer.

got the TS315's myself. they've done well over 50 gigs now cruising at ~100db+ with up to 300 people. backed up with an 18" sub can do 500+. very good for price. i've owned most brands including bose, jbl, yam, and ev. the "315" model of the Alto TS line is the best bargain out there. clean, bright, decent punch, and never seemed hot. clipping light will come on when pushed hard.... i do use a BBE Maxcom to reign in peaks, and also add sub-harmonics and highs with the sonic maximizer. great bit of kit.... i DO NOT like the shitty composite board type cabinets (or whatever crap it is). cabinets have lasted (Gator bags) but seems flimsy for hardcore road use. grille is ok.

Even the best speaker systems will have their high-range killed with clipped output. As long as your amp can deliver clean signal to the speakers they should be okay. A clipped signal to the speaker is essentially feeding the coil DC and it becomes a very effective heating system.

I have the TS410's running with a Turbosound Milan 18 and OMG i got lucky. I wanted a more focused mid-range so i went with a 10" but there's no way they can roll solo they need backing with a sub and Turbosound is a steal at any price. When I have used them playing out here in Chicago i have received compliments on them and the mix of 18" to 10" where they work well together. Before the Milan sub I tried the Mackie thump 15 and that thing was awful - Sounded like hitting a stack of cardboard with a wooden bat. The Alto is a very nice sounding speaker. I have older EV force 15's that need power and when i need a BIGGER System i roll those out with my amp racks for the tops and Bottom witch i know / feel sounds WAY better when running a traditional rack crossover and powered amp set up.

sounds like you could be cooking your signal and running out of desk headroom... i own these TS315's and use comp/limiters with them at all times... either that or a "set up" drive rack etc.... but i like my old BBE Maxcom for the main FOH stereo feed coz it has real knobs and a Sonic Maximizer. haven't lost a speaker for a long time.... cosmetically damaged yes. blown no. did have one 15" Black Widow sub that sucked in the little foam dust cap at the rear breather of the coil and chewed that up. obviously checked and replaced the rest right away... 10yrs ago did blow some JBL horns before comp/lim. too.

Personally as a mobile DJ who owns the ts2 series, I ll advice you to get the 15 tops and 15 subs for 2 reasons. 1. You may take only the your tops to most venues which re usually small for private functions of 50 - 100 guests and these will give you best of both world. We all know that mobile dj like things portable for easy transportation.
      2. You can go for the 15s hence the price difference with 12s & 10s is not that much but there's a clear differrnce in power output.
