    Thank you for the review on the Alto Ts415, I went out and bought a pair and a pair of Ts12 subwoofer, did a high school prom and a full weekend of party gigs, and the performance of this system sounded really good, a lot more than I expected. Now I’m think about getting the Ts18 subwoofer

    I had the Alto TS112, TS212, and TS215. Traded in the 112 for the 2 series speakers, and then traded in the 2 series for the TS312 speakers. I love my TS312 speakers. My biggest pet peeve about the TS4 series is they got rid of the side handle bar. My 312 speakers have 5 different handle bars which make it awesome for carrying and portability. I also still have my Alto TS110A speakers. Keeping them around so my 15 year old son can use them when/if he gets into deejaying events so they can be his starter speakers! I also have an Alto TS212W speaker that is a back up to my 312 speakers. I'm an Alto Fan!

    Thanks for this video. I had my second Pro DJ event last night and I managed to blow my Vonyx VSA 120s 800w peak passive left speaker by over driving them for three hours. I was running 2x QTX 1000w 18" subs with the Vonyx pair tops at a garden party in Oxford UK and I got carried away with my Techno track volume like I was at Tomorrowland! As I'm just starting out with another three bookings in the pipeline this month, I need an economical alternative and fast. I notice there's L/R XlR inputs on this speaker which will allow me to run two subs and one Alto TS415 for now, until I can afford a pair. There is so much increase in performane moving from 12" to 15" (as I have Fenton FT15LED which saved my performance after the speaker blew) I definately need the 2500w power upgrade....looks like a winner especially with the EQ's and App adjustments....I'm assuming you weren't going full volume in your sound test to avoid distorting the recording audio..I bet that can pump some serious noise..Well I'm hoping it will. I'm planning to hold my own ticketed events this year and I want my trademark to be thumping sound ...I can't wait! :)

Solo me importaría saber cuanto SPL aumento. saludos!

Thanks,,,

    I have a pair of TS315 with 315S (Subs) to accommodate a full range system. It's exceptionally balanced and the amount of Bass-to-Mid & High points are very well distributed...
    My question is regarding matching them with the subwoofer as these have higher power rating.
    Would you say if I trade my TS315 tops for TS415s and use the 315 subs, would they outperform the subs in terms of loudness?

    • @agork
      @agork 2 месяца назад +1

      You can use the volume adjustment to compensate for the particular situation. Some times you will need more bass and sometimes you will need less. So simply adjust the top and bottom to compensate for any given situation. This advice is valid and universally applicable.

  • @juneradbutil2274
    @juneradbutil2274 4 месяца назад

    I use a QSC Touchmix 16 mixer to drive my TS315's and they sound great at high volumes (3-4 o'clock). I recently bought the 415's and when set to line level, the signal is TOO LOW even when all mixer volumes are way high up. So I needed to switch it to MIC level and dial it at 2-3 o'clock to get a decent volume for my band. It sounded good but I worry that it will produce distorted sound on higher levels. I'm even thinking that the 315's are better to use in a full band setup. The "Bluetooth Pairing" volume was louder and funny it kept saying while during our performance.
    Question: How do I set it up to line level and get a decent volume output? Or is it safe to use the mic level for a full band gig?

    • @expertisland
      @expertisland  4 месяца назад +1

      You need to find the option on your mixer to switch your -10DBV to +2DBu and turn off the BT Audio voice I covered that in the TS412 video.

    hello mate, first off love the channel and the videos, i have found them informative. A question on these speakers. My 3 piece hard rock band runs a full digital mixer setup (XR12) that does both our IEMs, with no amps (cab sims) and when we run gigs and small clubs / pubs (up to 150 people typically) we hire 2 x QSC K12's and put our sound guy out in the crowd to control our mix. This works amazing and is great, but i want to purchase our own speakers. Noting that the TS415 has a SPL max of 136, and the K12 has a max of 129, but that the K12s are high end speakers, compared to the price of these, hers my question. In your honest opinion, will 2 x TS415s do a credible job at pumping our whole band sound out at venues like the above? many thanks

By the way, they both sound Great. are you looking at 200 at a hall for a meeting or is it like 200 people at a wedding with 50 to 75 on the Dance floor? TS415 is fine but for 200 people at a dance party, you need the SRM215 and rent a couple of Subwoofers for the Night.

    I own ts415s sir 5 months old. They have amazing bass and liking them till now!
    Question 1: I always keep the speakers knobs max and control volume from the mixer instead of always reaching to speaker. Is it the right way to do?
    Question 2: most of the time I can't see the lights on the speaker, which makes it hard to know if I'm hitting the limiter. Do they have inbuilt limiter? To not blow up?

      @djjammindave 6 месяцев назад +3

      FOR SAFETY PURPOSES KEEP YOUR SPEAKERS AT 1 OR 2 OCLOCK. NEVER MAXIMISE THE SPEAKERS CONTROL VOLUME. THE MIXER MASTER VOLUME IS THE ONE THAT SHOULD CONTROL THE PEAKERS. WHEN YOU INCREASE THE SPEAKERS VOLUME THEY TEND TO CREATE HISS, SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T WANT.

      The correct method to do this is to get the gains on all the channels on your mixer adjusted properly, set the mains fader to zero, then bring up the levels on your speakers until you get to the volume you are going to want for the show, then add a notch or two to give yourself a little wiggle room. Digital mixers like QSC Touchmix, Behringer X-Air, X32 Yamaha TF and so on need to be run such that no meter ever hits zero, so with those mixers you will usually end up running most speakers a few clicks past zero for full live bands in noisy venues. Since Alto chose not to put any marks at all on their level knobs, you're just going to have to do this by trial & error. Probably around the 2 o'clock position. You can run the cheap analog mixers quite a bit hotter, so you might find that your speakers can be set correspondingly lower. Sounds like you might benefit by watching a few videos on setting gain structure for live sound. That would help you clear up this question in your mind.

    Hy, when comparing the altos to Yamaha speakers, what range would be the most comparable? And how is the sound compared to the other brands?

    • @user-jy4og8tu9w
      @user-jy4og8tu9w 5 месяцев назад +1

      the alto would be somwhere between the DBR and DXR series

    • @user-jy4og8tu9w
      @user-jy4og8tu9w 5 месяцев назад +2

      Being a Yamaha and Alto distributor I can say the TS4 has more sound pressure than the DBR and almost has much output as the DXR. But Yamaha has a more balanced sound, the Alto is a bit agressive on the HF part but nothing you can't correct with the internal DSP.

      @@user-jy4og8tu9wI know this may sound like a weird comparison, but would you say that the Yamaha DZR15 a big step up from this Alto model? I’m not overly concerned about the price difference, I’m just trying to determine whether the premium is justified. Gonna be using them for events, and adding subs at a later date.

    Here is the funny thing ... If all you have owned are Altos you will think that they are pretty good. I know this because I DJ and do sound for several bands that use them. Eventually I had a pair of Alto's and a pair of JBL and EV speakers. When I did comparisions it was like night and day. The Alto's were easily inferior in sound. I did notice something was off on a singer that I had heard 20 times or more on the Alto's.
    In this case you get what you pay for. The Alto's do indeed work and you can do shows with them but once hearing the other more expensive brands you will see what you are missing. IMO the two most important parts of the audio chain are the first and last. So in this case the microphone and the speaker. Give a singer a crap microphone and they will never do their best with it, same with the speakers.
    In all fairness most people in the audience probably won't notice but because of my familiarity with the singers and the music I always notice the sound quality at a show.
