It is a shame that the Salamanders don't have much in the way of books recently, it would be amazing to check in on how the Primaris are doing in following the tenets of the Promethean Cult. Even maybe check in on Vulkan He'stan or Chapter master Tu'Shan and see if they undergo the Rubicon Primaris
He's a total token character. And bear in mind, all the traitor Primarchs are of the white race, while any others are absolute good, honorable guys, pretty lame actually
The 20 primarchs, all working together, were Big E's backup plan if something happened to him. Together, they would've been better symbols of humanity's true strength, than Big E. Even as different as Vulkan and Konrad were, there's no doubt that the two would've been way more effective covering each other's flaws. This is best shown in Imperium Secundus. Sanguinius was a perfect as an Emperor replacement (symbol of human hope)... with Lion and Roboute keeping his sentimentality and rage in check. Even Big E needed Malcador to keep him human. The downfall of the primarch project ultimately stemmed from how they handled feeling lonely differently: 1. Lorgar's need to worship something 2. Guilliman/Lion being bad at letting their guards down 3. Horus being insecure 4. Perterabo feeling unappreciated 5. Angron being unable to form new bonds 6. Fulgrim needing to prove his perfection 7. Mortarion being unable to accept help
While every primarch represents a certain aspect of the emperor, Vulcan is definitely the Emperor’s Love for humanity. One of my favorite primarchs I hope he returns to 40k
@@ryanmatthews3609 You can't comprehend his thinking, he lived multiple millenias, He can't show his sons and us the bigger picture of the things he is doing.
"He was eventually stabbed, shot and bludgeoned unconscious" I wouldn't have thought the 8th would have been so brave to manage this. Discipline and warrior spirit were never their strong suit. Keep in mind this is Vulkan. A mountainous, hulking figure able to wield a weapon normally reserved for a Devastator Marine as a pistol, and a hammer large enough to break a Dreadnaughts' armour in a single, thunderous strike. Not to mention, betrayed and having to watch his sons die all around him, men he was personal friends with, who he loved. Vulkan must have been rage incarnate, the Iron Warriors and NightLords probably had to clamber over their own dead just to get to him. I can't imagine the scores of traitor Astartes he felled before they finally brought him down.
Also, he literally said that he had to hold back against his brothers when they did sparring sessions. Let me reiterate, Vulkan had to HOLD BACK against PRIMARCHS to avoid hurting them in a SPARRING SESSION
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
It was a great overview of Vulcan. I'm a little sad you skipped over my fav part with Curze. After Vulkan gets Dawnbringer, he's unable to activate it due to the maze being built by Perturabo. Curze gloats over how depressed Vulkan must be, and Vulkan gets annoyed and calls Curze a fly he could easily swat and then takes Curze the very edge of his existence while barely trying. Just when he's about to kill him, he stops and instead says he bluffs and says that after all this torture and pain, he hasn't done anything to affect him and then teleports out. Imagine slapping Curve with after all that torture and suffering from every possible way conceivable and some that were creatively crafted just for him, Yeah it did nothing bro. That probably hurt him more than all the damage he took from Dawnbringer. Course once Vulcan is outside he's mentally scrambled by the torture. He only gets a brief time to get his breath and just keeps going until the spear blows him apart, and he just doesn't have the mental fortitude anymore to recover.
Vulkan knew that Kurze had gotten to him mentally, but he refused to let him have the personal victory. It's that classic Salamander stubbornness that his son's still carry on to this day. It's not just about defeating the enemy. It's about denying them so much as a kill on a civilian. It's about resisting evil in every possible way.
I really like that you integrated some animations to it I think this is the best video you have done so far. I hope we would get to know the traitor Primarchs after Corvus.
I think vulkan is quite poetic, he represents the best traits of humanity, care, kindness, empathy, all that stuff. And contrast it to him being a perpetual, i think it shows that despite all the things that happen humanities greatest traits will persevere and continue. Or im reading to deep into big man with flamer
I’m a 40k newb. But Vulkan seems like the true good guy, leader of the rest of the good guys in 40k. If I played I would definitely want to play with a Salamander army. My fav color also so happens to be green. Vulkan is awesome!
I still maintain that Vulkan blasted himself into the warp and is now faithfully leading the legion of the damned against humanity's enemies until such time as the artifacts are united and he can be brought forth into the material world again.
@@soffren how awesome would it be for a warp powered up Vulkan to appear at the head of the legion of the damned to save the imperium in some crucial, massive, hopeless battle? It's too good for me not to imagine it as long as it's a possibility.

Thank you, Algorithm, for showing me this channel. Love the stuff, just a lil comment from a Salamander diehard fanboy for 20 years; Vulcan's personal weapon was Urdrakule, Dawnbringer was a weapon he had made for Horus to celebrate/support his ascencion to Warmaster, but never gave to him, since by the time Vulcan met with Lupercal with the finished hammer, He was already tainted, and Vulcan felt uneasy about him. Just a lil nitpick, loved the vid, though :)
One cannot have a favorite. Yet one must idolize all of His sons. They are all resplendent in their Panoply’s of wars And they all must serve His will.
No matter if it pained him or not, if he exterminated an entire planet because of politics... at least Angron and Konrad were honest about things. He performed as ordered, which isn't the problem, it's that, no matter what he did after that, no matter how many lives he saved, he still massacred an entire planet and nothing washes that away. He was an excellent soldier, but this casts a big cloud over the whole "Vulkan and the Salamanders love everybody" thing.

The devil can be quite honest when it suits him - just because one has 'honesty' doesn't automatically make one 'good'. There are many people in this universe that will gladly tell you that they're going to kill you horrifically - that's not 'honesty', that's sadism. Do NOT confuse the two.
I realised I didn't know much about vulkan. So I looked up a vid, I see an interesting one but notice its already been watched. I click it to jog my memory.
