    --- Sargent Sidonus of the Ultramarines
    I've always felt that his wry assessment of the 6th Legion, and their Primarch by definition, was a little unfair. Russ may have been quick to anger, but it seems he would always stay his hand, often to his own cost, right at the moment when his rage might have consumed him and see before him instead a brother that he might have misunderstood and did not wish to harm.

    Interesting fact: The 4 challenges are actually Norse mythology attributed to stories of Thor.

    • @21buzzsaw
      @21buzzsaw Год назад +7

      Not all 4 of the challenges. The eating one is done by Loki in the myth. The myth is when Thor and his party go to the giant fortress of Utgard. Where they are challenged by Utgardaloki to 4 challenges.

      @Kojar_Hellbringer Год назад +3

      Yes.. in norse mythology only thor tried 2 of the challenges of the king of giants. I actually did a peice on this on RUclips! You can find it on my challenge! The three challenges in actual mythology was to out race a giant, eat more than another, and wrestle an old hag.

    • @haraldbredsdorff2699
      @haraldbredsdorff2699 Год назад +5

      @@Kojar_Hellbringer Not quite. First challenge was to empty a chalice, Thor tried that, lift the cat, and wrestle a old hag. Then a eating contest, for Loke and the race was a human slave/Thrall they had just picked up.
      Turns out the chalice contains all the worlds oceans, and Thor drank so much it caused the tide.
      The cat was jormungand, the world serpent that goes around the world, so not something you can lift.
      The old had was aging, and no matter how storng, age will defeat us all.
      The eating contest was against fire that consume everything.
      And the race, turned out to be against though. And no matter how quick you are, you need to think about something before you do it, so though is always quicker.
      But the trolls that sett up these Challenges got scared by how close the gods got to succeeding. So, they would not challenge the gods again, until ragnarok.

    Leman Russ!!!! The great Wolf! The king of fenris!!!! His emperor's executioner! I love lemans story, he was more than just a loyal dog that followed his master, or was a savage brute. • @ZiGGi03

      It was Russ who was created as the emperors executioner he was held back and taught how legions would fight and he’s basically a counter to them he did take out Horus in single combat with the emperors spear . So he could take on any other primarch just the same . They were all made for specific reasons . As another legion who were commanded by the eclesearchy are the minotaurs they are are anti-legion legion they study each legions battle tactics and evolve ways to counter them . Makes sense the emperor thought of this when a legion agents out of line a way to counter them .

    There are evidence pointing to 1 primarch possibly being held under the imperial palace, and i really like and choose to belive that..
    Also it would possibly make for a great twist and great stories later..
    Also it would make sense to me that Russ did kill one of the lost primarchs..
    And that, that was one of the reasons he later held back when he was fighting a brother..
    Because even though he most likely was one of the mightiest of primarchs, and know as The Emperors Executioner, he was clearly still one of the most feeling..
    Fantastic character in my opinion..

    I know he gets alot of hate (and some of its fair most of it isnt and some is just bad writing) but I love leman russ I think what switched me on him was that when you look at his story he's everything the Traitor primarchs were and were not.
    He overcame basically the same flaws than each of them Jealousy, Frustration of leadership, having the worst burdens forced on him, not actually caring much for the imperium and ore about home. primal nature , psyker powers being overzealous to lacking confidence and being too bloodthisrsty but he managed it and often by the skin of his teeth too he's barely a good man but in a way its all the more glorious considering how evil he could have become.

    The Lion knocked Russ out afer the Wolf King stopped attacking him after one week of non-stop fighting, Russ started laughing and got distracted.
    Against Magnus Russ technically won despite Red Boy getting away.
    And also he didnt kill Horus because he hesitaded on seeing the "true" Horus, when he was a pure and charismatic loyal leader.

    "Leman" in modern English means "from the valley", but in the culture he's based on it means "girlfriend", "concubine" or even "sidepiece". If you called any Germanic tribesman "Leman" he would have gutted you on the spot. That being the case, it's hard for me to take Leman Russ seriously.

    💙🔵
    Imagine: powerful Chosen of Tzeentch always at war (with the Lord of Change Tchzen of the Silver Claw at their side)!
    Who with their mighty fire serve the God of Magic in the pure way, with victory in battle.
    So do his Sorcerers, who teach battle to the zealous Warriors of the Architect of Fate.
    With war they bring eternal change for Tzeentch!
    Tzeentch must look like Norsca, and there are several Champions who prove it: Tchar'zanek, Aekold Helbrass, Albodi, Melekh the Changer.
    "My name? Long ago such worthless details fell from memory. I know only the lust for glorious battle -- for blood, for victory! I seek only the Eye of Tzeentch -- his favour, his grace, his Dark Gifts -- that through them, I may be remade -- reborn! Why do we raid your lands? Why do we burn your homes? Why do we flay your flesh? To serve the Lord of Change and his magnificent designs."
    Do you know what the Screamers of Tzeentch must look like?
    Long tail but raven wings and beak, without claws however because being creatures of change they must always fly and never stop.
    And since purple, pink, and gold (Slaanesh) are aspects that simply don't go well with Tzeentch, then blue, azure, and silver are his only true aspects.
    I like to imagine (even before the Heresy) Magnus and the Thousand Sons with the symbol of the Egyptian Raven (let's eliminate the symbol of the Egyptian Scarab, it is an insult to Tzeentch).

      “There are no wolves on Fenris” is a theory that the creatures aren’t called wolves on Fenris. The Imperium uses terms like Wolf Lord, Wolf Guard, Fenrisian Wolves, Thunderwolf, and Wolf Claws, but the SW use the fenrisian language and none of the words sound alike. Instead of Wolf Lord they use Jarl and instead of Wolf Guard they use Thane. It’s theorized that some idiot translated 14 or so different words into the word Wolf

    I'll never understand why Russ is so popular. He's the dumbest of the primarchs and thanks to his intellectual handicaps he can be considered the third primarch that helped heresy the most just after Perturabo and Mortarion. Destroying Thousand Sons and forcing Magnus into chaos was one of the most important victories ot Chaos. And still Russ is considered loyal.

There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime.'

    You keep using Leman’s last name as “The Russ.” The Russ implies his whole tribe, as he is one of the Russ. It later became part of his title. If you want to use his last name singularly, when you are just referring to the Primarch himself, simply say Russ or Leman or Leman Russ. You are using a plural form instead of the singular.

    Leman Russ!!! The epic failure!! 😜 If it was not for Angron he would have been the least successful. At least Angron has a really good excuse for his problems. Russ has none other than he sucks. He has no major victories, but is responsible for for the worst failures in Imperial history. By any reasonable measure he has done more damage than good. And no he was not loyal is loyalty is measure by during your duty.

    • @lukasz.adamski
      @lukasz.adamski 19 дней назад +1

      I wouldn't put it better. That guy is sn utter failure. He has no redeeming qualities. His only feats are: forcing Magnus into Chaos, frying Malcador alive because he didn't bring Magnus to sit on a Golden Throne, forcing Emperor to sit on the Throne (same reason) instead of enabling him to actively take one traitor after another, deserting during the Siege ot Terra with his legion and weakning defence of the Palace. There is not a single feat of Russ that would benefit loyalists instead of traitors.
