In this video we discuss a Han Solo story so good, Disney wants you to forget it and favour their iteration of the character. Since all the original Star Wars EU books have been relegated to legends, it has been interesting to go back and see which stories should have been incorporated into the canon. This story here is no exception!

In the original cut, Greedo didn't shoot at all. Han just took him out without a second thought.
I have the original theatrical version as a bonus feature on a DVD boxed set.

I would love to see the original cut. I’ve only seen from special edition and beyond. That original cut you have on DVD must be really something! They have changed Stat Wars so much with the most recent releases they almost look like new movies lol

First time viewer here. This was a great video. The Paradise Snare was actually the first Star Wars novel I ever read back in early 1998. It was available in the Scholastic book order one time so I got my mom to order it for me along with the first book in the Star Wars: Galaxy of Fear series that Bantam put out for younger readers around that same time. In fact I still have my original copy and I read it at least once a year, usually with the rest of the Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin.

This does look like a promising book! I'll have to take a look! Awesome stuff man! Also, yes- it was 97 when the films were re-released in theaters, and around 98 the VHS tapes were released. I watched them endlessly only because the previous video releases were hard to get, and the 2nd releases had those boring side views of Vader, a Storm Trooper and Yoda on the boxes.

Yup! I had the Darth Vader one. I actually may still have it somewhere at my grandmas lol i watched the hell out of those tapes. I would be surprised if they still work. Great times man! So many great memories attached to Star Wars with me. Seems like it’s the same case for you!

Yeah!! Star Wars legends! I remember the paradise snare was at my school library when I was in elementary school and I loved star wars so much that I tried reading it even though I was only in grade 4. I had no idea what was going on because my reading level wasn't there yet lol I bought it years later at a thrift store and I loved it. I agree with you about that scene with Han taking a mud bath. So hysterical. Keep up the great work D. See you next video! PS this is sounding great as a podcast as well. I wish you much success with your youtube channel and your podcast!

Awesome video Dante! I love the Paradise Snare. One of my favorite Star Wars books ever. The original Han Solo is what we need in a Han Solo movie. RIP AC Crispin

You know, when I read the Paradise Snare, I thought the same thing about Bria Tharen, that she looks like Karen Allen. I too also pictured a young Karen Allen as Bria. Always great content. Thanks Dante! Also, enjoying the podcast versions of the show. Great way to listen on the way to work without eating up too much data

I remember reading this book not too long after it came out! So good. I really enjoyed listening to you talk about it. The woman does look like Karen Allen.

Drew Struzan- known as ' That movie poster guy!' has provided beautiful work from American Tale, The Thing, Star Wars movie posters, to Harry Potter and Coming to America posters just to name a few! Maybe could you do coverage on him sometime? He's not only a fantastic artist, he's a great friend of my mentor, Thomas Blackshear!

Working for a living IS overrated - if one of us ever hits it big, we have the other’s back, ok?😉 Seriously, great episode, buddy: enjoyed learning about this story, and yes, Bria definitely looks like she was modeled after Karen Allen.

While Disney wants you to to forget ' SOY-LO' (as the internet dubs it) I wish they wouldn't forget Genndy Tarterosky's take on Clone Wars! Wish he'd be added to a project!

Yeah that’s true!! I agree. Ha ha Soy-lo I also enjoyed the “pando-lando” name that came from that movie lmao

I’m almost done the Han Solo trilogy in legends and now I must say the movie is horrible compared to this trilogy. If they were to do more with Han Solo, they should do a 3 season Disney Plus series using the stories from the legends novels. Sooo good!
