      Well clearly this is Microsoft 's answer to chrome os....But my question is will all applications supported on w11 work seamlessly on lite version..... Bcz it's just difficult to beat chrome at app ecosystem 😜

    Good video, I really like that you mentioned the part at 5:48 which is what I was thinking the whole time. Not to discredit the creator of this Windows 11 build, but it's good to be wary of the dangers of custom W11 images, and it's a really good idea to just spin up one of your own versions instead so you know for sure that nothing strange is going on. Or of course, you may want to try out a Linux distro, but this may not be for everyone.

      I wouldn't trust a pre build Windows ISO from anyone, regardless how popular he/she/ve/xe/ze/per/they is.
      Powershell based debloater, yes. Windows custom installation script? Maybe, but only if in human readable format coupled with official ISO

      Honestly I'm permanently thinking about moving to macos. Linux is too much of a pain. Windows is downright garbage.

      Light OS might be useful for older hardwares and companies like Microsoft can't keep supporting old hardware for too long. Even open source community only provides support for some years after that it is up to the enthusiasts who may maintain it unofficially but that too not for long.
      Most laptops/computers of today can easily handle windows 11.

    I agree with this but it's not always applicable to all laptop. Especially with newer bios feature like storage encryption, make it even more complicated than already.

      @@jasonmullinder if you have 2 PC, you can just install it from another computer. Just make sure you disable secure boot and tpm.

      @@liquidjam7521 UEFI, at the time I didn't really know about secureboot and couldn't find a way into bios for any settings.
      I assumed other people have had the same problem so thought it worth saying even if that netbook is now dead

    Tested last night after watching your videos. Its light weight but in my personal experience, it can't become your primary os. Microsoft need to make a win 11 lite for budget users otherwise it will lose huge market share to other distributors

    Please also make some videos on the latest Linux distributions. There are really some fantastic options out there like Linux mint XFCE, Zorin Lite which are more than enough for average users and for power users also there are distributions with the latest Gnome or KDE desktop. And all of them are very user friendly. Please cover them in Beebom style 😋😋

      Some third party user has done some tweaks to Windows 11 build, not Microsoft. So you run it at your own risk!!! Some apps won't function, some programs may crash!!! You install it at your own risk!!!!

    The comparison between them in performance was kinda unfair , the normal windows 11 installation is updating . i recommend testing it after updates

    The issue with this system is that it's not an official Microsoft release. It's built and tweaked by an unaffiliated third party. By installing this build, you trust whoever created it, that they didn't include any malware on it, and even then, there is no guarantee that whatever tweaks they applied won't result in bugs and breakage of the apps as well as the system itself.

      You should create one yourself, it's been said multiple times on how to create windows lite guides always create one yourself and never use lite ISOs created by others

      you can make your own tiny11 iso. tiny11 is not as lightweight as win11lite but its way better than stock windows 11

    Changing the hard drive to a ssd , will make this laptop miles better, just see the disk usage , its always on 100% on both the windows versions ,Which makes the system slow.

      he can disable superfetch and windows search to make that HDD usage lower, that fixed it for me.

      Why do you want to install windows on a phone?
      x86 softwares won't work on arm.
      Android apps won't work on Windows, what is your use case of wanting windows for phones?

    For the past 2 years I've been using win 10 lite on my 7 year old laptop and because of lite OS, it's working pretty great for my father's work (basic, ms office and chrome)

    This is a really good thing for running windows 11 in a Virtual Machine.
    I use linux as my host OS
    As you don't want the unnecessary windows junk/bloat to run in you VM consuming system resources on top of host OS
    Earlier I use to boot using win10 iso from Microsoft and run a debloating script by myself
    The ram usage was down to ~900megs!!

    Microsoft need to hire the guy to optimize all their products. I switched back to window 10 after testing windows 11 for around 2 months. I also like my windows to run on best performance (no funky animations or whatsoever).

      yes. average fps does not increase but it increases the 1% and .1% margins

    So... basically this build is unofficial and therefore users should not trust Windows update, does not come with Windows Defender installed by default (a typical CPU hogging "security program" that has read and write access to the internal storage which is a double edged sword.), does not require a TPM chip installed in the computer and only uses 256 MB of RAM? Just shows how much all that bloat actually uses.
    That said this will not help those who are not tech savvy enough to reinstall an OS.

    I installed the basic Windows 11 Lite version on a spare computer. Installed in about 2 minutes. I'm not joking. THAT fast. The first time I did it, the screen resolution was stuck on 600x800. NOTHING could change it. I tried everything. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled hoping I might strike lucky. And I did. The resolution now has many options. It's perfect for my monitor. I think Lite is great. Makes the computer run very fast but I never use a browser with my passwords on it. Cheers.

      You will lose all data on your system drive, but not on other drives. So if you have any important files there, just copy them to some other drive

    Use any light linux distros. there are tons of distro's for old laptops. (much better experience than any windows or chromeos build)

      So which is would be the best for my dad who isn't as tech savvy: in between the ChromeOS Flex, Win 11 Lite or some Light Linux distribution?
      I'm going to use this on an old laptop with 4GB(DDR2) + Core 2 Duo P8700.
      My dad already has a Swift 5 (i7) with Windows 10 and this other one will be a backup laptop working as an "at-home" computer.

    Maybe distros like PopOS or the flavours provided by Ubuntu
    They are interesting options for dual booting with Windows or even as a daily driver for old laptops!

    acually i am ussing this buildi. I also tried other windows 11 lite builds also but they dont give suport for regular updates .i curently dont feel any bugs,performance is super.there is no compatibility watermark .i run this version onunsuported device . iobit driver booster exe doesn't work for some drivers also.

    I have HP i5 3gen, with latest versions of designing softwares. Adobe Ai, PS, Autocad, MS office, and it's slow.
    Do you recommend installing windows 11 lite ? What advantages I would have ?

    I think microsoft should officially release a windows lite version for lower specifications laptops.
    And that would also create a competition with Chrome OS flex.

    You cannot disable windows updates. Even though they send a lot of crap, or also foxes security issues daya to day and updates CPU microcode and other firmware. These are extremely important if you plan to use Internet on the computer.

      @Google's Indeed. But most regular people cannot get quickly used to it. I am using windows mostly since I game. But I also keep Linux VMs on my unraid server for learning. They are lightweight, but cannot beat the convenience of windows for a n00b like me.

      Though I'm not a competitive gamer, I mean I play Single Player games all the time on my Laptop, I prefer windows over Linux even if the games easily available on Linux. But unless I wanna game, I don't boot up windows. For all the rest things I boot up Kubuntu. And work and education related stuff, I recently started using Fedora 36 with Gnome 42.

      ​@@hirakchatterjee5240 Damn, you don't know anything about linux today. At what timeline you are living? and btw, terminal command is not so tedious and ancient like dos command. Fyi, nowadays linux has GUI application stores and even there are different package system to install software. Even you can use majority of distros without even opening terminal.
      But for many people running a command like "sudo apt install vlc" is far simple than visiting a site and downloading .exe file and executing that file with more conscious mind by clicking next with the fear that we don't agree to install some third party application or provide some vague permission which may turn out into malware or spyware or some shits and harm our system and compromise our privacy or make the system laggy as af.

    I'll give this thumbs up. But this software should not be necessary. Even worse is the link on how to debloat without ever showing anything on how to debloat. It just uses third party too. Enough of third party tools and using something like W11 Lite. Users need to know how to manually completely strip W11 to barebone functionality. So W11 is not trying to access internet or run nonsense in the background. So that all user applications and everything can function efficiently. Without having to install something like W11 Lite that you don't know everything it is changing.
