Tilt mechanism broke after just over a year of usage. Pretty limited to begin with since seat and back tilt are locked together and there's only three positions. Hi question - is the chair sturdy? One issue I've had with cheaper chairs is that when sitting down and I move around it can wobble a lot (especially left to right or forward and back). Is this something you noticed?

There are also mods available online to my knowledge to add better/taller headrests to this chair, but at that point it might be worth getting something else. Thanks for watching!
I have this chair and 5'10. The head rest does hit my shoulders a little if I'm fully straight up. But tilting the headrest up. Gets rid of that. At your height, it might dig into ur shoulders. Ive seen people mod it with an extension for the headrest. I will however say that having a headrest is a MUST. It help so much with posture and all around comfort
I’d say to get the dexley instead. It’s on staples as well, and is wider, basically this chair but made for taller people. Both chairs are on sale though, for $150 right now
How’s the cylinder holding up? The part that raises the chair up and down? Mine gave out on the first day so I’m waiting for a replacement. I’m not sure if it was defective or if this is the issue with all chairs. With the chair sitting in the highest position i used the tilt function all the way back and maybe that was a reason for it malfunctioning. What’s your input on this?
I'd be lying if I said I knew what was causing your issue. all I can say is my experience. I still use it 4-8 hours every day usually have it at the halfway point heightwise and do keep it reclined many times at night when gaming. So far I have had zero issues with the chair.
Aww thats a bummer. I would look up and see if amazon sells smugdesk brand ergonomic chairs in your region. I've heard good things about those. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, the biggest con of chair is probably the headrest. I have heard of other people installing different/taller headrests on the Hyken making it more friendly to tall people, but idk where one would look to get one. Thanks for the comment!
@@hereticsshallbecleansed7245 kind of, but not really. The headrest that comes with the chair isn't extendable. It just has a tilt feature which can SLIGHTY raise where your head rests . There are also mods available online to my knowledge to add better/taller headrests to this chair, but at that point it might be worth getting something else.
Thanks for watching!
If you Google search, there are steps on flipping the headrest assembly. I'm 6' 5" and it helped quite a bit.
Both chairs are on sale though, for $150 right now
I just ordered this chair after going in store. It felt great and now I just have to wait for it to arrive.
Nice! Hope it gets to ya quick!
Thanks for watching 😁
How are u liking it ? Is it nice for long period of sitting?
@@gerardov5007 yeah it’s great. I use it for hours just about everyday. It’s comfortable and it’s been holding up very well.
Its impossible for me to take advice from a dude who doesnt use a mousepad.
Ha! I do use a mousepad. It was just a bit dirty/beat up so I didn't want it on camera 😂
Thanks for watching!
What's a mousepad? I could say the same for anyone that doesn't use a trackball 😊
So far I have had zero issues with the chair.
what game is that at 2:20?
Broomstick league. A short lived indie game that was a cross between quidditch and rocket league
@@DigitalCynics oh man looked like fun :(
It was very fun for the short time it existed 😕
i am 5 foot 4, would this chair be fine for me?
Yes
Just bought one off marketplace. Same height as you and it fits perfect for me
Anyone in EU who knows where to get this? I'm unable to find this one let alone anything similar with the mesh seat.
Can't find one either probably covid19 fucking supply or some zhit
Wish i could find this in Europe.
Closest similar design with canvas-seat instead of cushion it's like 500$ :( ..
Aww thats a bummer. I would look up and see if amazon sells smugdesk brand ergonomic chairs in your region. I've heard good things about those.
Thanks for watching!
Does it still hold up though?
yep! still holding up great.
@@DigitalCynics is lumbar good?
I think it is personally. But it might be a little short for some people. I'm 5'7" and it's fine for me.
Good because I'm giving it to my aunt who was in a car crash
@@RoganHighlightReel926 Well I hope she likes it!
Keyboard?
Corsair K63 Wireless :)
It’s out of stock in my city and in Amazon it’s $500
coupon code for hyken?
Sorry! Don't know of any available. But the chair often goes on sale so just keep your eyes peeled and you'll snag a good deal. Thanks for watching! 😊
It's on sale right now, I just picked one up for $160 they're normally $250 but staples is having 30% off currently.
@@NogaroChase Cool! thanks for the heads up!
@@NogaroChase damn I'm one week too late lol
honestly schools should give these chairs to students who cant afford nice chairs
Good review but I'm 5'10 and the headrest is absolutely useless for people my height.
Yeah, the biggest con of chair is probably the headrest. I have heard of other people installing different/taller headrests on the Hyken making it more friendly to tall people, but idk where one would look to get one. Thanks for the comment!
Can't you extend it somehow ?
@@hereticsshallbecleansed7245 kind of, but not really. The headrest that comes with the chair isn't extendable. It just has a tilt feature which can SLIGHTY raise where your head rests . But if you need something adjustable height wise, your better off modding the chair or getting something different
Le Miz do a google search for hyken headrest mod.
What's the length of your torso? I'm an inch taller but I have a ridiculously short torso. Thanks.
yo its on sale right now for 150 >.>
eyyyyyyyy
@@DigitalCynics That's the Dexley. The Hyken is $169.99
$299.99 (cad) or autonomous myochair $265 (after tax and a 10% off coupon) 🤔
just ordered mine on ebay for 137 usd
Now thats a deal! 😁
it's 129.99 now
Got it for 149.99
@@johnmor3541 glad you got a good deal
I have this chair and while it was great originally it is an absolute nightmare now! I got it right after the pandemic forced us to stay inside here in Los Angeles and now a few months later the mesh is sagging which makes my ass sore. The lumbar support is now destroying my lower back as it's digging into my lower back and giving muscle spasms. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR
sitting...? why sit if you can recline ? levus.co
Because you can't effectively use mouse and keyboard when pc gaming if you recline.
lol the chair is currently 299$!
On sale at Staples for $169 today.
@@catherinepecoraro242 cool. I had to buy one a month ago. Also, on sale isn’t regular price.
How do you call yourself a gamer while gaming without a mousepad. 🤢
I just didn't want my old beat up mousepad on camera 😅
idk i think that gaming chairs are ugly and ergo chairs seem more mature looking
I don't like this chair lol used it once I have it for sale for 100 if anyone wants
get a mouse pad :'{
chair was shit for me.
