    Fantastic update as always gentlemen. Question for you; I have the option of: 94 octane (10% ethanol) or 91 octane (no ethanol) here in Toronto. I'm assuming it's best to be over octane as you've advised ie. go with 93 file on the 94. Would appreciate your thoughts on this.

    • @034motorsport
      @034motorsport  3 года назад +1

      Glad you're enjoying the updates! Yes always overshoot the octane over the tune, so for 94, run the 93 file, it will work well and the ECU will give extra timing if the octane point allows it. Enjoy!

    I only have tuning experience with my previous car (335i) - I blew through spark plugs and coils like a wild man - and experienced misfire issues. I didn’t have any other modifications besides the tune and an axle back exhaust. The only thing keeping me from buying your tune is the concern of blowing through plugs and coils (and subsequent misfires). Do you recommend a plug change before installing the tune? On a non modified s5 - what do you think a reasonable lifespan will be for the plugs with your tune installed?

    I'm considering purchasing the stage 1 93 octane tune. I'm in Florida. Can I safely run this tune at sea level? Or should I consider running the 91 octane map?
    Also, I'm cross shopping with the unitronic version. They seems to produce more hp and less torque where your tunes produce more torque and less hp. Why? Which us better?

    So, I just purchased a 2019 Audi S5 Premium Plus with the Sports package. I am coming from driving a 2015 Mustang GT with a few mods.
    Looking at your site and info (and please correct me if I am wrong), If I get the Stage 2 91 (454 HP / 542 TQ) I will use the 91 octane, BUT can put and use 93 octane if accessible.
    BUT if I get the Stage 2 93 (476 HP / 576 TQ) I can ONLY use 93 octane or higher.. Is this correct?
    So, I have to think that increasing the power and torque it would be a good idea to upgrade the Intercooler as well?
    And I would think that this "voids" the initial warranty for Audi.
    But can the Tune be backed out and back to Stock without being detected?

    • @034motorsport
      @034motorsport  3 года назад +1

      Hello, yes we offer different flash tunes for the various octanes, so the tune will not automatically adjust to octane that is lower, so 91 tune requires 91 and cannot run anything lower than 91, so on and so forth. If you want to run 93 fuel, then flash the 93 tune and you're good for anything 93 octane or higher. You cannot run a higher octane tune with lower octane fuel.
      You don't need to install an intercooler, but if you do the ECU will make more power as heat will be reduced and flow will be increased, same goes for our intake system.
      Technically a modification can only void the factory warranty if it causes a problem or failure, that's the law, but you can flash your car back to a stock file (which we also provide on our server) before you take it back to the dealership. Enjoy the new power!

    I'm looking to go stage 2 with an aftermarket downpipe and stock intake and intercooler. I live in Canada, where temperatures are pretty low for over half the year. Are there any concerns with having a stock intercooler and stock intake going into stage 2? I see that it's on the list of required hardware on your website. I'm not too concerned about the power loss from heat soak, I'm mainly concerned if there will be any damage to the engine, or will the thermal safety component of the tune manage that well enough so that no damage will be caused? Thanks in advance!

    • @javadshadzi4824
      @javadshadzi4824 2 года назад

      Those mods are "required" to make the advertised power, but not related to safety, our tuning maintains and optimizes all the factory heat management safety functionality, so the ECU will simply pull power based on intake temps. The stock intake loses power over ours, but again, not related to safety. Hope that helps!

      Our customers are loving our Stage 2 E85 and we have not had any reported engine failures due to our Dynamic+ tuning in the history of us offering Dynamic+ Tuning to our customers.
      When developing our tuning for the EA839, we implemented key safety features to keep your engine running optimally and safely in virtually any condition - just like the OEM calibration. These were then verified by us on track through multiple high-temperature track events with our vehicles. This keeps the engine in your car happy and safe, providing consistent and repeatable power

    So what ur sayin is anyone that’s running E85 without a tcu tune is really not making the tq that’s the dyno says they are? Can anyone elaborate?? What’s the peak before the TCU start’s pulling torque without the TCU tune?

    • @034motorsport
      @034motorsport  3 года назад +2

      Hey! Not exactly what we're saying, so to clarify - from the factory, the TCU will limit TQ in the ECU when it feels the need to, so if only an ECU tune is performed, but the TCU isn't re-calibrated then yes, TQ will be limited as the TCU won't let the ECU make more TQ than the factory specified ranges. This can be overrun in the ECU by programming out the connection to the TCU, if that is done then TQ won't be limited, but a key safety feature of the factory TCU will have been removed. That's not something we're willing to do, as we make it a key priority that all factory safety systems remain. The right way to do it is to re-program the ECU and TCU so that peak TQ can be made and with all safety functions in place, that's what we are offering here in our B9 Tuning Bundle. Thanks!

    Looking to tune my 2018 S4. Got it from an Audi dealership 2 months ago with 28k miles on it, but it makes a few odd noises that has led me to be more weary than usual. Noises consist of a intermediate high pitched squeal at somewhat low RPM in almost every gear, but have heard that noise from several B9 S4s in youtube videos. Seems to just be a thing they do. The other is a ticking/slapping noise that happens less often but is very loud. Neither seem to impact performance. I tuned my B8.5 A4 with IE and had no issues until it started to burn oil, but that was most likely from the piston rings. Have you seen anything with the B9 S4s that would keep you from tuning it?

      Killer Miller I also have a 18s4 and have already bought the 034 tune, but am waiting to install it. My car suffers from the same high frequency whine under light load in 4th and 8th gear. It also has a what sounds like lifter tick under slight load or excessive valvetrain noise. It's been to the dealer 3 times and they say it performs as designed. They say they compared it to their cars and it's fine. I don't believe them because the engine noise started at 7500 miles and does not do it every time or day. The whine has been since I bought the car. So I feel the same hesitation about tuning it on top of these concerns. Did you have audi check your car out?

      @@beak700 45 55 75 etc are the general torque capacity/limit of the internal stalls/valves/gear. I had 3 ZF8 from BMW to Hellcat. The higher the number the more it is built.. “designed” to handle. If I remember correctly by just adding a 0nm to the end those model numbers is the torque rating for stock but obviously with TCU tuning it can handle more than that as my BMW ZF8 45(450nm aka 331ftlb) in my xDrive 335i was putting out more than 50% more torque than stock to the wheels without any slip because it was tuned both ECU/TCU just like 034 is doing, which is very smart of them to do.
      The B9 S4 is a ZF8HP55 if I remember correctly so it is stronger than my BMW ZF8HP45 was. So it’s rated at 550nm(405lbft) so I would say it’s good for 650wtq MAX. Us BMW N55 and B58 guys already did the leg work in testing the lower 45 unit for years and the ZF8HP75 in the 4000+lb Hellcats are doing 1200+wtq without issue AS LONG AS THE TCU IS TUNED AND TQ & PRESSURE CONFIGS ARE DONE!
      The beauty of the ZF8xxxx is it’s modular and easy to upgrade to higher rated torque specs if you need to push say 650+wtq for a long period of time. If you’re doing close to or more than that you need to build the trans eventually.
      This is an easy upgrade for BMW cars not sure if compatible with the S4 but it should be.
