My local garage has always sold red diesel at the pump bought some today. Sign on the pump Says anything over 100 litres has to be signed for but no chance of needing that amount in one go anyway. £1.30 a litre plus they sell heating oil " kerosene" & parrafin
a more refined version for use for indoor lamps etc. All good to run diesel heaters on. Anybody that says you can't but red diesel from the pump obviously hasn't been outside of their little bubble for a while. It's a big world out here.

According to government guidance, the types of vehicle that qualify to continue to use red diesel after April 2022, include: Vehicles designed to operate on a railway. Agricultural vehicles. Special vehicles. It's non taxed and tax id to purchase.

get it from the Marina!, say it's for a PERSONAL diesel heater NOT a Business heater. You can no longer heat you business on Red without paying the tax

First time I've had to get it from the pump, usually have it delivered 500l at a time but for whatever reason they won't deliver it no more, but was no drama, go in to garage ask for red diesel log book, fill it in, fill up and done. No worse than getting normally fuel at midnight really

Just went to dean service station in Rochdale because they sell red diesel. Go in, ask if I can have 20 liters of gasoil and is there a form to fill in etc. The 'english' chap at the counter doesn't know what gasoil is. Red diesel I say, and then it's all no no no we can't do that etc. I say it's for heating, I have ID, I'm in a registered road vehicle, I have a suitable fuel container. It's all no no no etc so I kick off a bit stating all the reasons but the guy wasn't having it, calls his manager who he puts me on the phone and the guys like we've had problems etc, basically no. Well simply, they've lost a customer and proven themselves to be complete ar holes. Absolutely no reason to refuse a perfectly legitimate sale. The only reason I can come up with is that they're dodgy, doing dodgy things and paranoid about getting gripped. I walked out resisting the urge to boot the sand buckets over etc no point in getting in bother. As I left I pulled right up to the window and beeped the horn, when he looked out I flipped him a good bird! Hilariously he pretended not to see it but he saw it all right!! I'm sure there's a conspiracy to stop anyone saving money in any way shape or form. Tbh it's only about 20p a liter cheaper when I add on fuel costs in going getting it so actually I'm not that mithered, more the total lack of reason and just because someone can't be bothered. There's a marina about the same distance so I'm gonna try there but am prepared to encounter some miserable bar steward who might be awkward. Absolute farce as usual. Thanks for the vid anyway.😂
