I have had a Chinese diesel heater in my van for 3 years, best thing I ever bought.
Medium size van on lowest setting uses approx £1 per night, 11pm to 8am.
Best buy 👍🏻
i totally agree .had one in my last 3 vans and wouldnt be without one...
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC Have you got a link to where you bought it from?
It seems a bit hit and miss on whether or not you get a good cheap one,...I don't like getting ripped off, some of these have a price tag close to a grand, others are below £200.
@@steveclark.. the link I have is down.i bought the one in video from ebay for 95 pound.i just searched for Chinese diesle heater ..
Brilliant. 👍👍👍👍 Probably the best test on these heaters. Look forward to the low setting test. Credit to you for listening to your viewers.
I am doing the low power test today and also doing a test in Alpine mode .
Hopefully upload it later ..
Great Video chap, many thanks for taking the time to complete these tests.
Thanks very much ..
Will be uploading another later .
Doing a test in Alpine mode...
Thanks for the update! That is not a terrible amount of fuel considering the heat output! My heater is turning up this coming friday, when i have it all plumbed in i will attempt a similar video but it will be at altitude, where i am is 4242 ft above sea level and it is currently about -2. Degrees! 👍 nice video keep up the good work matey! Exellent job! 👍😁
That will be interesting. I will keep an eye out for it
Please post a report
Thanks for the time you spent making this experiment i bought one of these heaters for our family tent and there is know way i could run this flat out, even at minimum it gets hot, but what i love about this heater its relatively small ,gives out great dry heat and its remote controlled, its like having central heating in a tent, the only negative is the exhaust in a funny place but overcame this by wrapping it in heatproof bandage, I would recommend one of these heaters.
even on low its hot , why not run it in alpine mode . it slows the pump right down ..
i show this in my next video..
.all the best Terry
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC Hi Terry It was the first time we used it but will do next time, please check the wrinkly nomads video on fuel consumption this i think will help all of us with Diesel heaters ,kind regards
I'm playing around with one of these at home.. we use them for work in our sandwich vans for the ovens.. i have fitted a solar panel with a controller to top up my 2 battery's i have connected together, seems to be working rather nicely.. wifey wont let me cut holes in the house though to get it from in the garage were i am using it at the moment. But here its nice and toasty in the garage.. Great video
thanks very nuch .i also use solar to top up my batterys
Great experiment, you keep going you tried all different things you know but you done a really good test. Thank you very much for testing it out on a diesel mojito will take me out thank you

Nicely done, impressive for max heat.

Very interesting experiment, I’m considering fitting a diesel heater to my van as a 2nd heat option, given it was flat out that’s not too bad consumption I don’t think as you say you shouldn’t need to run it flat out. All the best, David 👍
Hi David .. I highly recommend you fit one in your van , you will only have to run it on its lowest setting , I bet you get over six hour from a litre on low .
I will do another experiment on low over the weekend...
Atb TERRY
I've been running mine from 6 pm yesterday on Alpine mode level 2 until today, 1pm, and i used approximately less than a quarter of a tank of diesel.
I tried a 70 kerosene and 30 diesel mix, and i actually found it runs more economical on just the diesel.
That was my findings anyway. Be interesting to hear others' views.
Im now going to run in automatic mode at 20c set and in Alpine and see what tomorrow the results are.
Great videos and chat on here with like-minded real people using their brains and sharing the knowledge.
That's what life is about. ❤️👌👍

Thanks very much ..I am testing it on low on Monday and in Alpine mode.
Excellent. Thank you for the basic no nonsense test

This fella is great at explaining it all 👌👍
Thanks very much ,and thanks for watching.
Spot on mate,,,just going to fit one to my van, I wondered about real consumption,, Cheers
the consumption is a lot lower on low setting ..low is more that enough for a van ..next video will test this
Awesome video, I have one in my large sleeper semi in the states and I keep it at 72 degrees F and keeps it comfortable. Better than idling the main engine for heat.
Sounds great! and its probably cheaper than running the engine
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC Sure is, idlying a 2.0L TDI volkswagen is 0.8L per hour. So for a 13.5L diesel engine it would be even more.
Nice one mate……I would love to see the experiment on heating oil
Watch this space mate . I will look into it
I think what this shows Is it's run flat out usage as a heated for my workshop
and running with a thermostat would use even less
This has give me some idea as to usage pre hour
Thanks this helps me 👍👍👍
Glad you got some use from the video..cheers
This vid was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Brilliant ..thanks for watching
IV been running mine for one full winter...this is my second.
I find running mine on lowest setting all time far better.....but every day fun it flat out for 20/30min to burn things off.
As we speak mine has been on 21hrs (5kw unit) and used approx 1.5lts.
My 18/12 wooden shed is at 22c......bit hot for me.
But IV also found starting up when really cold it uses bloody loads as your experiment has shown.
I've just tested mine on low then on Alpine mode it's even more economical. See the next video in a few days. Alpine mode slows the pump down quite a bit..
Thanks very much. That's the most accurate way to check. I see a lot of videos using the calculation method, and using the pump pulse frequency and volume, but that's assuming the pump volume delivery and frequency are exact. Nothing beats a fixed volume of fuel and seeing how long it lasts, for accuracy.
I totally agree .thanks
Thanks for the info That was exactly what was needed
No problem. Thanks for taking the time to comment...
I run on paraffin mostly, but this year paraffin has gone from €22.90 to €40.99, so the plan is to go back diesel this year. On test earlier in the I found the tygon tube had rotted, we've run it for three years and it has been completely reliable. The tygon has been replaced with kuni brake pipe. Just a quick tip, if you have a small tank, drill the top not the bottom, it stops leaks. Other wise an outboard motor tank is easy to handle
thanks for the tip .i have a feed from the top on my tank... cheers... as for parafin or kerosine , cant get hold of the stuff.
Thank you for the video, considering its running on full, its not terrible, I think the main focus for most people would be how well insulated the space is. Running maxed out even for 10 minutes it would totally heat up my well insulated brick shed from 0 to 22c and keep it warm for another 3-4 hours. If you have a large space with very little insulation then a vented wood burner is probably better (if you are allowed one) though the convenience of a automated system cant be understated. The one thing with these to be careful, is that they have a shutdown sequence, if its not followed properly then the main board can fail, so a cheap UPS is definitely a good add if you get a lot of power failures.
yes your righ. my shed is not insulated at all and it still keeps it warm ..you have to go through the shut down sequence your right its very important it cools the unit down properly
Makes me wonder if extending the board wires and pulling it out of the case would be a good idea? Is there anything else that could be damaged by a "power-loss" shutdown?
Excellent advice... must get my shed insulated ....
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC yes but it is also a tiny shed, I'm trying to use one of these in a space at least 3 times as big and....... I'm not extremely confident, I can keep it in the 60's running on medium (fahrenheit, the superior unit of measurement) while the outside temp is ~45, I'm hoping it can keep up at 20 degrees or below
I've got this very model in my 07 transit, even on number 2 fan it gets tropical! A full tank lasts surprisingly long I'd recommend this heater happily was simple to install too 👍
yes there easy to install if you have the correct tools ect..
How long?
@@iamnegan1515 in my van i got about 60 hours from a 10 litre tank
yeah , there dead easy to install
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC nice, I bought one a while ago and am going to put it in a small camp trailer.
I heat a 50' steel hull sailboat with very little insulation, all night (~7-8hr )on level 4 of 10 all night for .85 of a us gallon all night keeps it ~ 65deg inside when it is 30deg F outside...
love these things .
That's brilliant... I'm just testing the heater again to see how warm it gets my shed now .it's minus 3 degrees centigrade at moment so I will post that video later..
Funny I sang its praises, and it died yesterday. control panel dead. it lasted 1.5 years running daily during the late fall/ winter. oh well $175 totally worth it ill get another. then saving for a Wabesto 45k hydronic setup next year ~ 4500 - 6 grand for everything... ouch, but is really what the boat needs. 3 zones and hot water for a ~ 36watt Draw.
First pulse rate or C, it doesn't matter; exact; same! I did the math before knowing exactly what the temp you used. But I came up with 2.75 hours for one liter of fuel. The math does work!
I had a small 1kw German diesel heater in the foc"sle of a trawler i had, to replace a gas heater that was awful for condensation and it was the best thing since sliced bread, and if i remember correctly it only used 1 tenth of a litre an hour. It was second hand and had come out of a lorry.
i have used a gas heater in the past and your right the condensation was awful . these are much better
You are the man..propper explained in layman's terms😊
Well thanks very much Tony.
Thank you for the video. It contains important information for me. Thanks for wasting your precious time for us.
Thanks for watching .and on Monday I will be testing low power settings and the even lower setting Alpine mode...
Waiting for my heater to arrive. When I've fitted it the Mrs n I are moving into the garage/workshop 😂
Thinking of moving my bed onto the shed 😁
Thanks brother! Nice video. Please watch out with weight on that piece of wood where your accu standing. Big love for you and your family. Greets from the Netherlands
Cheers .I am installing the heater permanently soon and get the battery of that shelf
Great video, thanks.
Cheers David
my trucks all have had webaso or espar diesel heaters that run all night in cold weather found that an electric heater plugged into a generator is quieter but takes gasoline 1.2 gallons for 8 hrs the diesel heater is half again more efficient but uses truck batteries through the night which works but a suitcase gen in front of pass seat with heater and battery charger if needed is a much more peaceful sleep
The diesel heaters can be noisy.
No nonsense information - thanks
your welcome .. thanks very much
I have not tried myself but there are quite a few videos on using waste oil for fuel. 50/50 mix mostly. They say it is more efficient. Kerosene, I believe, won't lube the pump properly.
I've heard Kerosine won't lube the pump.
Mix a bit of diesel with it I guess if it needs lubricant.
I've herd people running kerosene for years with no problems.
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC I run straight diesel so only going by what I've found online. (grain of salt) I burn kerosene in my home furnace because diesel will gel up in Jan and Feb. It does not burn as hot as fuel oil. Which is pretty much diesel. I saw people reading temps on waste oil, thinned with some diesel, and they claim and show it to burn hotter. Once again grain of salt. Later.
@@sslcfc I will test a few different fuels on mine
Very good info! I bought one for my caravan, yet to install it. But this video makes clear they run very efficient. Thanks for making this. And for the tip to use red diesel instead of the more heavily overpriced regular diesel. I did not try to calculate it, but it seems to be cheaper than heating off propane gas.
It's much cheaper than propane and like I said in the video there is no need to run it full power like I did ...a caravan will only need this to run on its lowest setting ...you will get around 7 hours a litre from it on low ... in the next video I will test it on low setting
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC Looking forward to that vid. Have you done anything against the ticking noise of the fuel pump? Or is it not noticable from inside the van?
@@PeterPeer the ticking is a bit of a pain but i have noticed the longer its used the quiter it gets , or am i just getting used to it..
little price to pay for cheap heat..
I put one in my caravan, it’s brilliant
@@paulplayford213 perfect for a caravan
Well done! As you say you won't need it running flat out all the time.
i think flat out for the first 5 minutes to quickly heat your van and then down to low heat to maintain the temp..
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC to be honest every setup will be different. Your test at flat out shows worst case/ most fuel scenario. A 1.5kw fan heater that's flat out is for 2.5hours is 4.25 units at 32p per unit would be £1.36. Initially that doesn't sound to much different but I'd guess the deisel heater would need to work much less to maintain a constant temperature.
@@tysondundas1947 i think this heater flat out was at around 4 kw so on low it would use much less.
Nice work ❤
Thanks very much
Just for info. Based on the 1 litre per 2.5 hours diesel consumption, the maximum theoretical instantaneous heat output of the heater (without efficiency losses) works out at about 4.2 Kw. So a fair bit below the stated manufacturers rating. But still, it does the job!
you are correct , theres no way we get 5kw from it ..you know how manufacture over rate products.
I just did a google search how much kw 1 liter diesel has: "One litre of diesel fuel (auto) has an energy content of approximately 38 MJ - which approximates to 10 kWh (using a ballpark figure) but the efficiency of conversion into kinetic energy is only about 30% - that is better than petrol which is typically 25% depending on the design".
Thanks I have a double garage/workshop that I'd like to heat and currently my calor gas heater is really pricy to run.
well i think the diesel heater will perform better than a gas heater and is cheaper to run .Its al about good insulation a well , my shed has zero insulation
great videos mate.

Because of location I could only fit a 5.5L tank in my Hymer B575, and I can say this seems accurate for what I get out of mine (8kw)..Great video btw 🤙
when i get my next van soon i hope i will be fitting a small 5 litre tank
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC be good to see a vlog on that.
@@TheJonnyjacko yes I will be vloging that
My Hymer is a toasty sweat box now lol
Apparently/FYI - the '8kw' units are just 5kw units - marketed disingenuously!
i use around a litre per day, set on about 2kw output in my 30x10 shed 0.2 litres an hour on average its way cheaper then a propane heater that used a 3.9kg bottle in about an hour.
sounds like its a great idea . and better than gas which is getting silly in price
Great videos mate! Very informative and giving people like me the confidence to try out a diesel heater in the garage?
One question: have you tried to run it in paraffin/kerosene yet?
Uploading a video right now running it on paraffin and engine oil... be out tonight buddy
So here in the U.S. I can expect about 9.5 hrs on a gallon of diesel. Way more efficient than a diesel or propane portable forced air heater. I'd like to see a timed test keeping the room at say 65°F. Thank you for the video!
I am doing the test on low soon ,perfect setting for a caravan etc
I am in CT, on the coast(windy). It heats my cottage 700SF running flat out at 5.4HZ, same results of usage. My total Liters usage including last Feb., March, Apr. & May started it up again 3 wks ago... 242.868L and Fuel Rate of 0.428L/Hr. I keep the cottage at 23C or 73F. When it reaches temp I shut it down with remote until it drops to 20C or 68F and I turn it on again. The cottage has electric heat and when my bill hit $680.00 last Jan. I pulled the trigger on this jewel. My Feb Bill dropped to $230, I still heat my outdoor Jacuzzi to 40C which I know is a waist but is why my elect is still high. At night I shut all heat off and when I wake at 6AM the house is at 14C or 58F, I run the jewel for 2 or three hrs and I am back up to 23C.

So on this maximum setting, at around £1.71/litre diesel, it costs about 68p per hour to run (at approx 6.6ml diesel per minute), would be interested to see what the consumption is at just above minimum setting. If you could get it down to 10p per hour then we're talking pretty good heating efficiency. Also have to take into account how much battery power it uses.
If you use white diesel yes .I have got kerosine for 89p a litre from a heating oil supplier.
Red os 1.35 a litre ..
Most heating oil suppliers will sell you kerosine if your buying 20 litres...89p..saying all that it's not often you need to run it flat out..
Mine runs on tick over in my garden office 1 Ltr for just over 8 hrs you can more or less set your watch by it 👍🏼👍🏼
good results , your pump must be set lower than mine..
I would be interested to know more about the fumes inside (where there any with the door closed). Also that ticking of the fuel pump. Once installed can that ticking be heard and how loud is it? Good to see it doesn't use much fuel and of course running on low it will use a lot less hopefully.
i have the exhast near the door and it does let fumes in . this is only a temp set up and the exhast could be routed out of the way.. no fumes at all with the door closed ..the ticking is anoying i must say but you can install that outside
So great video, now may I ask what the electricity consumption was, I see a 12 volt battery but cost of running this must include overall power to also run the blower motor.
the unit draws around 2 to 3 amps .its a 100 amp battery .the electric it uses is very mall amount . it would draw 30 watts if pluged in with a 12volt transformer
Great vid thanks....
Your well come , glad you enjoyed it ..
Will be doing the low setting test in the next few days ...
The models I've looked at work out typically to be around 15p per kW hour which is anywhere from half to a 1/3 of current electricity costs based on the at the pump average UK cost of £1.85 per litre. You can use things like filtered oil from your local fish and chippy which is illegal and requires a license so I'll leave that one up to you :P Either way these things are awesome (although have guilt about burning diesel)

Don’t worry about fuel oil. Not much difference to diesel in its make up. Also never noticed a difference in my garage between the to. Other than the purchase price
red diesel is 50 pence a litre cheaper at the moment
Looked up the energy of a litre of diesel, the official figure is 10 KW hr /litre. which would suggest that the 5 kW rating of the heater is overstated.
correct
Thank you for doing this test. It is really amazing how economic that heater is! So basically 200ml per half hour, that's 2.5hours on 1 liter and on massive hot setting! Very curious to see your test now on minimal setting, how that is heating that space and if it's convenient enough on the lowest setting and how much less it will use. These pumps actually tell how much their pumping capacity per tick is, and at your thermostat you can set the frequency in Hz of ticking over. Thanks again! I got the same unit installed on a boat.
See the latest video for the low setting test ... to warm up this space you see on the video ,I blast for half an hour then drop to level h3. Baring in mind there's not a bit of insulation in that shed/mancave

A very good test :) And it shows clearly that it delivers about 4kw and not 5 as said. To deliver 5kw you need to burn about 0.5 liter each hour. Diesel contains a little more than 10KWh so it should stop after about 2 hours. But still not bad
Yes it's not 5kw but like you said still very good..
I wounder what my so called 8kw will do..
what about the battery it has to be charged at some point 1 the cost of the battery and 2 charging cost 3 life of the battery all must be taken into account for running cost with diesel used and any maintenance costs as a true running cost
Just like anything else .every thing has other running costs.even the central heating boiler ,electric heaters etc.if this us in the van the solar and split charger take care of charging
Does the heater work better recirculating the fresh air from inside instead of bringing in cold air all the time?
Heater should ne inside and the exhaust and intake (black pipe )should be outside . To prevent Co build up . Safty first .
Kerosene in Canada cost more than twice as much as diesel and is harder to find while diesel is available at any gas station. I think I need to sell my kerosene heaters and get one of these
I would at that price
so you have to run this off the battery it dont come with an plug in wall socket option?
No it never comes with a plug . You can buy the 12 volt plug in supply from Amazon apparently ..
Thank you for this, very helpful. So the UK is looking at £0.34 per kwh for elect and £0.10 for gas and you are showing £0.15 for red diesel making these chinese heaters a viable option for electrically heated homes - that is assuming it is a 5kw heater rather than 2kw or 8kw..... I have no experience buying red diesel and imagine it might be difficult to find the £1.35 price for small transportable quantities of say 20litres. Any tips ?
For red diesel try to Google Gas oil instead ,that's how I found it at my local BP garage at the pump, sold in any quantity at 1.35 per litre...
I'm am just uploading the next test now in eco mode...
If you have a boat marina on a river/ canal near you can buy red diesel.
@@wishfix of corse never thought of that
Use heating oil.
WOW Good video Thanks Ed Loretto Ontario Canada
thanks very much
Would an air-air source heat pump be cheaper to run. My air source heat pump heats my whole 2 bed flat and uses roughly 500W, checking the electric meter I worked it out at about 12 - 15p per hour to run at a 35p per KWh tarrif. Compared to my underfloor heating it saved me £60 a month on electricity when I was on a 27p per KWh tarrif. I don't use the underfloor heating now.
500 watts would never heat my shed ..but yes cheaper for smaller spaces that's insulated
Great video thanks.
Wondering if the type of fuel used in these heaters makes a difference to consumption.
Reason I ask is I know that an oil burner tank filled with a different type of kerosene , to what the oil burner was calibrated to use,can result in higher fuel consumption.
Reason is the viscosity of the fuel.
Bought one of these heaters a few years ago for a camper but life got in the way and never used it. Frankly I never thought to use it for home heating.
May experiment on the house and if it’s a success buy a second unit for the Landy.
thanks for watching . i think Kerosine burns hotter in these heaters ,
The maximum consumption should be pretty much the same because the pump always does the same strokes per minute and every stroke pumps a fixed amount of fuel, unless you use a something like cold used engine oil with high viscosity, in that case the pump may struggle sucking the fuel which may result in lower fuel consumption and also lower heat output.
Same consumption but might get a hotter burn so you could turn it down to save money .Will try different fuels in tomorrow's video
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC i don't think you get a hotter burn, because most hydrocarbons like oil, diesel, kerosene, gasoline, etc. contain 10kWh per liter. So as long as it consumes 0.4 liters per hour, you get 4kW in total, probably 3-3.5kW is usable heat output, the rest gets wasted as exhaust heat...
@@Henning_S. its just what I read online ...
How long have you had this heater for? Is it worth buying this one rather than a really expensive webasto one?
This is new .but in my older vans I had them in for years ..no problems. Except for one when the heat senser packed in ..5 quid part and easy to repair.ihavexa video on it.
Hi, did you extend the wire yourself for the diesel heater lcd screen?
no its right out the box like that
These heaters are inclined to coke up the vaporising gauze if run on low settings for long periods, then they make a lot smoke and stink. Not sure what shares availability is for new meshes, but the sévices parts for eberspatcher heaters of which these seem to be knock off of, cost as much as a new Chinese heater!
Very true . Best to blast them on high once a week to burn excess carbon of
Sold out in UK I heard a load got held by custom n excise at a port saying there dangerous
the reason for them been held at port is due to Regulations 2008 because they could present the hazards of fire and death due to poor supporting installation information. The instruction manual is rubish have a look at this
uknip.co.uk/Breaking/News/breaking/suffolk-trading-standards-imports-surveillance-team-have-detained-973-diesel-heaters-at-the-port-of-felixstowe-over-the-last-two-months/
When will someone make a sauna and see where the thermos limits are. Hot box test please with a carbon monoxide alarm or place the heater outside for and fire thing too. I b😊ought one for my Mac Gregor sailboat and use it in my garage in the winter( now is minus 1 outside) . The carbon monoxide levels could be higher at full blast and buddy has his exhaust near the open doorway . Running a new heater flat out for 2.5 hours is,,,,,,,not the best way to test it and break anything in. It would have been awesome to see him be all sweaty and having an ice cold drink after an hour at Mach 6 and a temperature gauge in the room. Cheers mate and enjoy. Btw, I built an exhaust and a pipe riser over the roof to help with the exhaust/ emissions. You can use common drain down pipe if you like or anything really just keep the silencer outside if you are going to use it and let it run through the cool down cycle before shutting off the power. Ok next experiment,,,heat a hot tub with a diesel heater,,,,,in 3,2,1! Hope you don’t mind my comments and thanks for the video
That wasn't a comment it was a story. I read it all, I'm going to fit it permenent soon .. exhaust away from door etc.
And the last thing you need to see is this fat lad all sweaty
Cheers to that, these little heaters are a fun toy for many in a damp cold environment. The best part is they are so cheap and offer an adjustable heat source that dries the air. I used a sink drain tube at 1 1/4 inches by 6 long through the wall then put the stainless pipe through that as a double wall. I got my friend to tig wield my silencer except the vapour drip hole. My next task is install it in my sailboat for the spring season. Keep smiling, keep laughing, keep sweating , even on a cold winters day !
How long can you drive the heater on max, 6, with a full loaded car battery?
Electric wize?
Will be testing that soon .but as a guide I am sure it draws about 2 amps once running .so a 100 amp battery drained to 50 percent should last 25 hours... the future test will give a more accurate figure.
Haha I love your xbox stand
I was waiting for someone to spot that and comment. Only took 20 thousand views .
On the pump is written the dose most are 0.020ml per click.
On the display is the frequency of the pump on the setting you are using.
Eg 3hz x 0.02ml = 0.06ml/sec x 60 = 3.6ml/min x 60 = 216ml/hr.
It's simple maths and the most accurate.
Yes you are correct.. its simple maths ... cheers...
Good test tho you could have shown the actual room temp at the start & during the test, which would show how warm you're shed was..
Yeah I could have done that ..
It did get very warm ....no need to run it flat out in that small space really
@@VANFLIPPINGTASTIC I plan on getting a 5 to 8kw unit and need to study which one seems the best unit, thanks for the time & effort in you're vid...
Do you trickle charge your battery when using the heater ?
when its in the van No , the solar would take care of that . but here in the shed i just put the charger on it over night on low and its full by morning
Is that a leisure battery ?.Does it run the diesel heater ok, ie time wise ?
yes its 100 amps , once the diesel heater has fired up it onlly draw a few amps ..
Got 1 in my camper van 20mlns turn off gets to hot in there in December
yeah there very good ..
That's much cheaper than running a 3kw fan heater for 2.5 hours, I think a third of the price. U also have an extra +-2kw of heat output. It definitely will pay for itself very quickly and also save u tons in the long run.
And you really don't need it flat out ...even more economical. Low setting is normally enough
here in Sweden 1 litre of heating oil is about 5 euros.. its mental, they don't sell red diesel either... might have to get a wood burner
At that price I would use a lig burner too
I could use one of these in my garden den, just wondering if they are smelly if anyone can tell me. Thanks
no there not smelly at all .i had one in my van . make sure all the exhaust pipes are outside etc
Was the jug calibrated? Haha only kidding thanks for the information will be watching the next video
Never thought of that ... a pound land jug ...probably a mile off , ha ha .
Ooo like it, also need to take into consideration temperature as that will effect fuel density and air pressure as that will effect the burn
@@dougsaunders8109 true it will but it gives a rough guide i guess
Hey man! Looking for a way to heat my 14x40 ft insulated wood building. Temperatures dip down into the low 20s Fahrenheit in the winter. Do you think one of these would heat my shop up ?
Yes I do think it will heat it up ... this is the 5kw heater .you can also buy the 8kw heater which is even more powerfull..
It would eventually, but these things are designed to heat much smaller spaces than that, I think you would struggle. I would go down the route of a wood fired burner if I was you. As long as you have a ready source of cheap/free firewood, it's a no brainer. And you can never have too much insulation.
@@nickmaclachlan5178 I agree with that .. a good log burner will be perfect for him..
@@oliver90owner I gave a 5kw and a 8kw and there the same size and seem to be the same power so I think your right ..
can you stick chip oil in there
maybe i will try in the next video , i think a 50/50 mix with diesel will work .might be risky
