    Just bought a fully loaded Activ trim AWD and so far I'm loving it. Only driven about 400 miles so far and of course only time will time will tell how it does when it gets up there in miles. I'm the type of person who trades in every two to four years anyway.
    I find it to be very zippy and does just fine even when I go 70 mph. I'm not a lead foot and have no need to go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. I find it takes the bumps just fine. Some road noise at higher speeds though not too obnoxious. Time to crank up the tunes. I love the sporty exterior styling and the interior suits me fine both ergonomically and aesthetically. I seldom have passengers in the back so I'm not too concerned about that area. Love the blind spot monitoring and front collision warning.
    Really the only thing I don't like is the piano black plastic inside and out. Seems like it would be delicate and easy to scratch. Wish it was matte or slightly textured.
    Oh and I'm averaging 33-34 mpg with about 40% city driving and 60% highway.

    Recently bought an LT FWD with the 1.3. Power is actually not bad. This and the Kona are the best offerings for around $25K in my opinion . The Trailblazer and Trax are somewhat hard to find. They are shipping regularly to dealers, but usually are sold by the time they are delivered. We are close to 1,000 miles on ours and it is averaging a surprising 38.1 mpg. The interior room is really good. So far we are happy with it.

    I love the looks of the Trailblazer, and in that respect, I wouldn’t mind having one, but take an RS, and start adding options to it (Adaptive Cruise and Sound, Panoramic Moonroof), and you’re very easily looking at $34-35k for this vehicle, which is very hard to justify against the competition (particularly when you factor in lightly used up(per) market vehicles). You don’t even get rear seat air vents on the Trailblazer for that $35k. For the same money, you could get something with over 200 hp, all the same features you’d be adding here via packages, and possibly a better reputation for reliability. When you start thinking from this perspective, it becomes very hard to recommend the Trailblazer.
    *And let’s not even mention the elephant in the room: The Trax. For a lot of people, the existence of the Trax almost makes the Trailblazer redundant. But we can save that for another discussion.

    • @1guyin10
      @1guyin10 9 месяцев назад

      The Trax is good, but you can only get the 1.2 in Trax. The 1.3 is noticeably more power and it is only a $150 option on the FWD Trailblazer and every one I have seen was ordered with it. You also can't get AWD in Trax, so there are some key differences.

    • @OrdinaryG33K-SF
      @OrdinaryG33K-SF 9 месяцев назад

      @@1guyin10 “Noticeably” more power? The Trax is 137 HP, the Trailblazer is 155. That’s just 18 horsepower difference. Most car reviewers I’ve watched have said this is hardly noticeable. The availability of AWD is a genuine thing. And for some, that will justify going with a Trailblazer. There are other things as well, but for many customers, the existence of the Trax negates the Trailblazer. Personally, I think they should keep the form factor of the Trax, and give it all the features available in the Trailblazer. That would be a real winner for me.

    • @1guyin10
      @1guyin10 8 месяцев назад

      @@OrdinaryG33K-SF Also more torque. Having driven both, I'm sticking with my statement.

      I test drove both the Trailblazer and Trax recently and ended up going with the Trailblazer. The Trax is good for what it is and power in it wasn't bad, but the handling was noticably looser, and the transmission was clunky compared to the Trailblazer.
      I agree that the loaded Trailblazers end up a bit too expensive and that you can probably do better with one of it's rivals. But for the price of the lower trim AWD model I ended up getting I think it's a good value. Plus the folding down passenger seat is swank.

    Great to see Mark Takahashi, I've been a fan since the Inside Line days. The Trailblazer is on my list because I need a small CUV that has a decent amount of passenger & cargo space. To be honest, I would be all over the Kona due to its amazing feature content, but I have been scared off by Hyundai reliability horror stories. In fact, it's not even the reliability that puts me off, it's the fact that people say they are treated poorly by the dealers, which is a complaint I've been hearing about Hyundai for many years.

    • @adelaidesinclair8411

      True!! My Hyundai Kona began shutting itself off at high speeds in traffic. 5 times in 11days!! Terrifying & incredibly dangerous! Dealer has no idea what’s wrong & couldn’t care less. I went up the corporate ladder with Hyundai and got nowhere fast. So much for the warranty, which is apparently worthless. I will never, never buy another Hyundai. Ever.

    I would go for a Subaru Forester Premium, which is a good thing, since that's what I have. My previous vehicle was a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, which was a great suv. I sold it with 188000 miles on it, to my best friend, who bought it for his son to drive. That old Chevy was an awesome suv, except perhaps for its appetite for gas, but even that was reasonable, given all its good qualities.

    Chevy dropped the ball on this one. I’ve had mine for a year now. The 3 cylinder is woefully underpowered, the road noise is so loud and intrusive. I can’t keep up with highway traffic, I dread whenever I have to merge onto a highway. Of all the vehicles I’ve owned this is by far the worst. I wouldn’t recommend this vehicle to my worst enemy.

      Thank God it’s not just me that feels this way. My wife and I wanted a smaller vehicle to replace her 10 year old Murano now that we don’t need all the room. Omg 0-60 was measured on a calendar actually nerve racking when merging on a highway with transports. They should’ve put the 2l turbo in it or at least have it as an option.
