This was a reboot. Very little connection to the Bay Films.
the Bumblebee Movie is a Reboot
I think the next movie that you should do is playing with fire I know that’s another good one even though it’s been a long time Since I have seen that one as well other than Christopher Robin
Plus, there is the series that I like I know it was called EarthSpark I know that one was another good series, but it was like a movie and series so every time it would tell you what would happen next but I know that’s another good series that you could try to get behind on I wonder if they’re still making more because the last one I remember it has been a long time but I remember that they were like in this underground pit thing but if they are making more I want to see what happens next
the deceptions that can transform into 2 vehicles are called triple changers, they’ve been in transformers since the beginning pretty much.
That opening on Cybertron is truly the greatest opening to a Transformers movie. Also, I'm pretty sure it's no longer a prequel, but a reboot. After all, we got Rise of the Beasts, which is a sequel to Bumblebee. Also also, the two Decepticons are what we call 'Triple Changers', a pretty rare type of Transformers.
Me too.
No, it's still a prequel.
@kyle strong Yeah. A prequel to Rise of the beasts.
@@K-dawg26 The Bumblebee movie is set in a new timeline and it's not connected to the first 5 movies.
I wish I saw the decepticons in Rise Of The Beasts.
Decepticons are the coolest and the OGs, they are the only enemy I ever cared for.
They could've put to some use the models for Shockwave, Soundwave and Starscream from the opening. And yet, we haven't seen Megatron, I cannot imagine how badass he would look like.
Also, according to the Aligned continuity, Terrorcons are to be collected and controlled by Decepticons to use as a weapon to help them win the war.
1:57 they look like the OG ones in the cartoon, all colors may not be 100% accurate but that's how they suppose to look
The opening was straight-up LOVE, DEATH and ROBOTS
Travis Knight is amazing
Bumblebee is my most favorite of the live action Transformer movie. It's kinda rare to see a perfect live action Transformers movie with well written characters and story nowadays.
Helps that the director, Travis Knight is a 1980's Transformers fan. I believe the woman who wrote the screenplay is also a longtime fan of that era.
love that this actually shows the fighting on Cybertron. Also, I really love this line: "They literally call themselves Decepticons. That doesn't send up any red flags?"
Seeing the war on Cybertron was a refreshing direction because we barely got any visual context on that aspect in the BayVerse films.
AND that someone has a reasonable counter to that! That someone actually had the Decepticons using a pretty reasonable deception, someone else called them on it, and there was an answer to it blew my mind after after the rest of the movies. My one complaint about the whole thing was we were one name drop away from making it a GI Joe crossover but they didn't pull the trigger.
Bumblebee is a great movie! It is a reboot of the movies that was sorely needed.
I loved seeing Ravage. IN the cartoon he was a walking cassette player that indeed shot out a flying cassette tape who was a transformer also. To be fair a lot of the transformer original designed would be silly in modern times. Megatron was a a pistol with a scope. Though at the time the cartoon didn't care about what they transformed into as the cartoon was made just to try and sell toys.
Yeah, Bumblebee is officially the start of a reboot continuity. WE WON BOYS!
I got really invested in the beginning, seeing that the Cybertronians got a glow up with their classic designs. This Transformers film was a step in a good and refreshing direction imo, I enjoyed it very much.
so at the end you saw all those pods coming to Earth. Essentially, as the movie said, the entire reason Bee was sent to Earth was so he could establish a base where him and all of the other Autobots could safely regroup. And so now that the decepticon threat that was present had been cleared, and Optimus himself had arrived, it was time for all the other Autobots to finally come and regroup with them, which is who are in those pods. So essentially, all of those Autobots you saw at the beginning on Cybertron who also managed to make it to the launch pad (with the only exception of an Autobot who was seen on Cybertron being Cliffjumper, since if you remember, Cliffjumper was.....)
And so the new film, Rise of the beasts, picks up after this movie, 7 years later, where Optimus, Bumblebee, and several other Autobots are now hiding on Earth
Bumblebee was originally meant to be a prequel/spin-off. But seeing how badly The Last Knight was received, the studio moved away from that idea and it became a soft-reboot.
That’s explains everything when Bumblebee lost his voice
40:15 this is the G1 version of Optimus which what Michael Bay should’ve done all along. They’re doing it right so far with the Bumblebee soft reboot and hopefully they continue it into the Rise of the Beasts.
This movie serves double duty as it is both a prequel to the Bayverse (though there are some contradictions) and also the first film of a soft reboot for the film series, following a new timeline, continued in Rise of the Beasts.
I honestly feel like the only person who actually kinda liked the Michael bay designs more (for the decepticons specifically) than the G1 designs. like I actually liked that almost all of them where modern military hardware and looked actually alien when in their non-vehicle form. I think they did a pretty good job at doing a middle ground between the two styles though for this movie. They look G1 enough so they don’t just look like spare parts in the shape of people like the later Michael bay movies(4 and 5) but they look Michael bay enough so that they look like they would actually be able to transform into their vehicle form in the real world
To remind you this is a reboot for the transformer, so its all different than the other ones.
the toyline for this movie did shatter dirty by making her into two separate vehicle modes one shatter toy turned into a jet and the second version turns into a car
I wouldn’t say this is the best transformers film but this is a nice start to a reboot
I love this movie, it's so sweet.
Yeah quite a few Transformers can transform to 2 other vehicles, those are are called Triple-changers
Loved the Cybertron scenes they were one of my favorites!!
Dam im glad it’s reboot and especially since it’s the classic transformers I grew up with
I’m 100% here for the 1986 movie!
Bumblebee is by far a much better movie than AOE & TLK. This movie is a soft reboot to the TF franchise. As for the designs of Transformers, I prefer these designs than the ones from AOE & TLK, reason because they look like robots with vehicle parts on them that would transform into actual vehicles. The AOE & TLK designs make the Transformers look humanoid with litte to no vehicle parts on their robot mode which kinda loses the whole robots in disguise. The designs in this movie pays homage to the G1 cartoon and the 1986 movie as that is how these characters look like in the tv series. Some characters that u may/may not have noticed during the cybertron opening scene are: Shockwave (the one-eyed purple transformer), Soundwave (the one that ejected the dog-like transformer; Ravage), Arcee (the pink female transformer), Wheeljack (the one with the light-up ear fins) as well as Optimus and Bumblebee.
As for the two Decepticons, Shatter (the red one) and Dropkick (the blue one), they are a class of Transformers called Triple-Changers, which means they can transform from robot mode to their main vehicle mode to their alternate vehicle mode and back to robot mode or vice versa.
There are some Transformers that can triple-change but I think most Transformers choose not to have a secondary vehicle mode. As for the reason why, I'm not sure.
This movie pretty much reboots the TF movie franchise as for Transformers Rise of the Beasts, it follows the same timeline universe as Bumblebee but it takes place a few years after Bumblebee.
This movie has flaws, but I still genuinely enjoyed it due to how developed some of the characters are and the excellent action scenes. Bumblebee is easily the best Transformers film. I know that's not saying much, but it's definitely a good film.
This is the original looks of the transformers from the generation 1 cartoons, kinda hoping they would continue it ithe following movies.
My ranking of the Transformers movies are from best to worst
1) Bumblebee
2) Transformers (2007)
3) Transformers: Dark of the Moon
4) The Transformers: The Movie (1986)
5) Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
6) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
7) Transformers: Age of Extinction
8) Transformers: The Last Knight
don't worry they are just playing :>
I don’t know if anyone has said this yet but this movie has no connection with the Michael bay ones it is a reboot that leads into the new movie
And also watch all of the old James Bond movies since you watched all of the Daniel Craig James Bond movies for your channel
great
You think Bumblebee is the best TF movie? Wait till you see Rise of the Beasts.
Yay, These 3 Transformation guys arre called "TRIPPLECHANGER". :) but these two in the movie are just frauds...
this is a soft reboot now we wait for the rise of the beast movie reaction where its a full reboot and a sequel to bumblebee movie
NO, it's not, just as bad as AoE, and makes the same mistakes Bayformers do, focus on human rather than Transformers themselves.
The reason why all the Transformers look so different here and onward is because this is not only a spin-off, but also a film completely separated form the Michael Bay movies (yes, it's a soft-reboot), and the next film also has no relation to the BayVerse Transformers.
Needless to say this was an enjoyable reaction and we'll be anticipating your reaction to the next one!
Shatter and Dropkick (the blue and red Decepticons) are unique bots called Triple Changers, who can adopt two vehicle modes. In the Transformers lore, there are also Six Changers (bots who can adopt five vehicle modes).
Also, yep, the ending scene confirms wholeheartedly that this movie (and its sequel Rise of the Beasts) is a total reboot. I sincerely hope you check out the original G1 cartoon and the 1986 movie after this, cuz it is a glorious campfest!
you watch rotb yet? if you do how about mirage? is he the six changer or just... illusion?
@@shibainu1291 I'm actually not sure since Mirage can take on basically any vehicle mode he scans. My thought was that maybe his T-cog is semi-liquid and it allows him to store alt mode data much more powerfully than the average Transformer.
It's a reboot.
It’s not
@@Kevmaster2000 yes, it is
@@Kevmaster2000it is
@@Kevmaster2000lol XD
It’s not that hard to understand it’s a reboot.
Man, did this movie find a way to bring back the Transformers fanbase. Granted, this movie was forgotten, but it’s surprisingly great. Even the Transformers look like the 80’s cartoon. When I saw the autobots fighting in the opening scene, I felt like a 10 year old boy, in my pajamas watching a Transformers episode in the 80’s. This movie is unfortunately underrated!
The opening scene on Cybertron alone is much better than all five of the Michael Bay films combined
This movie is a start of a new continuity. It has no connection with the bayverse. Rise of the beasts which is currently in theatres is the second installment in this new timeline
Exactly 💯
I was so lucky to see this in theaters. My friend at first was hesitant to watch it due to the Bayverse films but the moment the beginning started playing, he gave it hope.
Bumblebee is a reboot of the franchise, and if you loved this movie, then you'll love the new one one Rise Of The Beasts. I just saw it in the movies last night, and it was amazing! I really loved it! 💯🔥
2:41 This is already a reboot. Everything on Bayverse, stays on Bayverse, this is a new continuity now, and an even better one.
So, here's the interesting thing about this movie. Despite having all these references to the Bayformers movies, it's actually a reboot of sort. Originally it was planned to be a prequel to the 2007 movie, but after The Last Knight underperformed, they chose to instead reboot the series with this movie being the first in it. There was also supposed to be a scene in the after credits where we see Megatron frozen in ice like in the original movie, but he was going to look much different; taking inspiration from his G1 design, which actually looked awesome in the concept art. But yeah, I'm glad they went down this road. I liked this movie a lot, and while Rise of the Beasts is a bit more divisive, I actually like that one more. But that's just my opinion.
I absolutely love Bumblebee, it has a great cast, comedy, heart warming moments and everything about it is just amazing! This used to be my only favourite transformers movie until I saw Rise of the Beasts in cinemas!
Awesome reaction Timothee!
Poor Bumblebee, his planet was destroyed; a lot of his friends dies AND he loose his voice. That's so sad! Also, he got chased by soldiers because they though he was a menace. The kind robot can't take a break! If he haven't met the girl and found Optimus's message, Bumblebee would be alone for the rest of his life 😭
I love how creative this movie is with transforming, for example the chase scene in the tunnel or the fight with the blue Decepticon (the chain and using the momentum as car to tackle the opponent)
*I'll never talk*
The loyalty Bumblebee has for his Autobot friends
The song that Bumblebee plays on the radio is "The Touch" by Stan Bush that was in The Transformers The Movie (1986).
This film tickled me pink with all the G1 designs, growing up as a 90s kid - Bumblebee and Charlie's relationship is so precious, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much but for these two, they deserved it
What about Ken Watanabe’s character in Age of Extinction? Think you forgot him. He was a helicopter and a car
@@eseschannel12oh yeah, Drift. heli to a Bugatti.
@@eseschannel12 oh shoot yeah, I totally forgot
I really like the Bumblebee movie as well as I love the Rise Of The Beasts. I had seen it in 2018, and I currently saw Rise Of The Beasts from a week ago after it's released and its very awesome. The bumblebee movie reminds me so much how he an epic hero that saves humanity from the evil decepticons. I also enjoy this movie and Rise of the Beasts even more. Keep up with your great reaction videos @Timotheereacts.
There was actually one other "Triple Changer" in the previous movies and that was Drift in Age of Extinction who transformed into a Helicopter and a Bugatti, but it was never displayed like Dropkick and Shatter in this movie
Keep in mind Tim this movie and the sequel rise of the beast are reboots to the beyformers movies. Their not connected. These are more like the original cartoon show from the 80s something a lot of fans wanted out of the other movies but well Michael bey being Michael bey. I suggest you watch the animated movie from the 80s
As a life long transformers fan, when I saw this for the first time in theaters, me and my mom who grew up on the old cartoons started cheering during the cybertron scene
Megatron in the original transformers movie did a 2 way transformation too, he used to go tankode then jet mode, many people didn't notice it though
Hi Timothee! I just got back from the theaters from watching Transformers Rise Of The Beasts. If you have enjoyed the Bumblebee movie, then you will also enjoy Rise Of The Beasts. It's a sequel to this new timeline, and both Optimus and Bumblebee mentioned Charlie at the beginning, without naming her. I personally watched the Bumblebee movie 6 times and it's still amazing. I am so glad you got to watch it.
Bumblebee was always my favorite and his movie was amazing. I loved his look and how smooth the action was. Also Bumblebee is the GOAT. Man just takes out multiple larger deceptions by himself like it's no problem. Watching him constantly fight outside his weight class and winning is so satisfying.
For me Rise of the beasts, Bumblebee and Transformers 2007 are my favourites of the franchise by far.
I love their G1 reference design.
The character designs in Bumblebee are so good. The single best designs in the whole series.
This is by far the best, and it's a reboot, too. Rise of the Beasts is the sequel to this as well.
@Eddymoo it's a very close second. Although it is the best of the Bayverse
20:28 Recognize that tunnel? That is the same tunnel from Back to the Future 2.
27:50 Drift (Samurai looking Autobot) was a tripple changer in the Mark Wahlberg movies.
Blue Bugatti in Age of Extinction.
Red Mercedes in The last Knight.
This one is my favorite out of all from this franchise! 🐝 #TimotheeReacts #TravisKnight #Bumblebee #Bumblebee2018
I have to rewatch the new movie to be sure, but I think the action in Bumblebee is better than ROTB. The fight choreography is really dynamic and intense. There wasn’t a ton of that in the new one.
Transformation into two diffrent vehicles is a uniqe ability that not every transformer can do, Transformers who can do that are called triple-changers. Also I think you forgot but you already met one triple-changer autobot in bay movies, Drift (that Samurai auotbot from 4 and 5) he was able to transform into helicopter and buggatti
27:56 In fact, you have seen them doing this, in transformers age of extinction, drift (the samurai autobot) transforms into a blue bugatti veyron and a sikorsky s-97 raider
So glad they finally rebooted the transformers movie series so much better than the Michael bay ones, rise of the beasts was awesome
I do warn you about the 86 movie. It is a continuation of the G1 cartoon from 1984 so some characters are already there as carry overs from the show (so the movie treats it like you already know them) for better or worse.
This is the first Transformers movie that wasn’t directed by Michael Bay, it was directed by Travis Knight.
The two Decepticons are known as triple chaingers they have robot mode and two alternative mods. There are transformers that have more than 3 modes called multi chaingers.
this is reboot not prequel to bayverse. Thats why in old timeline optimus and others arrived on 2007 while this movie they arrived in the 80s.
Make sure to watch the 1986 animated movie it's amazing grew up during that time and I still watch it from time to time
This movie & Rise of the Beasts are a reboot and aren’t connected to Bayverse, just saying this to stop any possible confusion.
"A transformer within a transformer"...... there was at least two in the first movie. The scorpion the ejected out of the helicopter in the desert. Also the small one that joined the police car
They should let David Leitch direct a sequel
#DavidLeitch4Transformers
Steven Caple Jr : nuh uh
This one was the favorite of my friends and family that werent into the transformers mythos since it was more earth centered and simple
Transformers that have more than two transformation modes are called "triple changers". Three of the most famous triple changers are Autobot "Springer", Decepticon "Astrotrain" and Decepticon "Blitzwing"
when this movie came out i found it really good and when i first saw john cena i was like wth is he doing here
Some transformers, not all, can have multiple alt modes, in the bayverse we saw the triple-changer ability in transformers like Drift (Tf 4) where he transformed into a cybertronian helicopter and a Bugatti, we also saw Laserbeak, Soundwave’s minion (Tf 3) transforming into a TV, computer, pink bumblebee and a printer, I think.
A toned down version of what Transformers was known for. Even so, Hailee Steinfeld as Bee’s original guardian before Sam Witwicky is a real standout. Brought humanity onto him.
AND… redemption at long last for the live action film series before Rise of the Beasts began!
The concepts of Triple changers have been around since the original G1 transformers cartoon. Blitzwing is one of the most well known bots who infamously can shift into both a fighter jet and an assault tank alongside his robot mode. The bot who actually proceeded to render Bumblebee mute? Was meant to be Blitzwing himself. (I mistook him for Starscream when I initially saw the trailers or thought he was another seeker etc.) I highly highly recommend you proceed to watch Transformers Animated. Blitzwing shows up as one of the main cons and displays his triple changing antics so very humorously. :D
Bumblebee and Transformers: Rise of the Beast are reboots. Too many reasons to explain why other than me seeing Rise of the Beast on opening day.
I love this movie. I love the other ones but this and Rise of the Beast are how Transformers is supposed to be. Especially since like any film, these two have heart as well as the shows. Everyone, other than Bumblebee and Dropkick, looks exactly and acts like their G1 selves. I do wish my buddy Optimus Prime had his own solo film since he has been the face of the franchise from G1 to still keeping that title and role today. He really deserves it the most and that pretty much would be the complete Cybertron experience everyone wants. Granted, the next movie for next year will do that but it's animated but I digress. I'm not complaining. Excited nonetheless😊😊
This is the start of the reboot franchise due to how bad the last knight did in theaters, almost ruining the franchise , according to the last 5 movies, A k bavers (named after Michael Bay)Bumblebee lost his voice by fighting Megatron. You can tell that this is kind of different. Plus, according to the last night, when Bumblebee 1st got there during World War II times. But here it says that he got here in 1987
This movie is actually considered a reboot now
Thanks, I caught another film 38 in your reaction. The number 38 appears in a suspiciously large number of films. Once you start seeing it you’ll notice more and more!
There was the double transformation blue Autobot in Transformers: Age of Extinction, he changed to helicopter and Bugatti Veyron.
Yh no this is a reboot, it was originally a prequel but when the last knight flopped they added and removed scenes to make it into a reboot. The only person who still thinks that bumblebee and rise of the beasts is a prequel is producer Lorenzo d vontura (I think that’s how you spell his name) but don’t listen to what he says he’s just in denial If it weren’t a reboot it literally wouldn’t make sense, even the director of rise of the beasts Steven Caple Jr said that it is a reboot.
This movie at first worked as a precuel, but during production it wa decided to turn it into q soft reboot, and that works better since the bayverse even if love it,was starting to be a mess
Oh yeah in some of the older Transformer cartoons there are evil Transformers called Predacons & there leader is called Predaking & also in some of the older cartoons there's a female Transformer called Blackarachnia & she can transform into a spider & if i remember correctly she can also poison both people & other transformers
0:14 its prequel spin-off and reboot raise of the beast is sequel to this and further shows its new universe not connected to previous Bays transformers
Not the first time we see that. Ken Watanabe’s character in Age of Extinction could turn into a helicopter and a car
Please do all Herbie movies, please, and patron will not let me watch them..? ^. .^ woof
If you didn't know already, this is an entirely different universe than the previous transformer movies.
These are the first minutes of the film. They immediately gave what many Transformers fans wanted.
the Transformers in this movie are looking alike closer to the original Transformers G1
I love that Shatter and Dropkick are triplechangers.
Going to give Transformers: Prime a watch? 😄
I cannot wait for your reaction to rise of the beasts. My favorite transformers
