This reaction video wins the internet to me. From a disabled vet, thank you. To my fellow vets I would like to say this: When someone walks up to you and thanks you for your service, Thank them in return for being worth it. I struggled for years trying to come up with a response to this display of appreciation. I needed a way to tell them that I didn't do it for me, but for them. God Bless the United States and all of her citizens. 💛

As a divorced fourth generation vet, with TBI and PTSD, that was homeless for three years and now existing under a program for homeless vets, who wakes up thinking shit another day. Yeah this song always hits hard. I love that they did this to bring awareness of what so many live through and despise how it makes me feel inside.
      It is what it is.

I see that too my sons Army serving now My whole family has been serving since 1775 actually before that and I get pissed when I hear someone disparage our military service members, they don’t like what I say to them because it’s truth, I tell them if it wasn’t for our volunteering service members yes you get paid benefits but honestly it’s not enough and you sign up for serving our people our country if it wasn’t for them doing that you wouldn’t have freedom to say what you say That’s the part they cannot argue with So Thank you humbly for your service from this military mama and May God bless you and yours Godspeed patriot ❤️🇺🇸🙏🏻. @@blueloulove you are part of the military family ma'am. Military mothers are why we fight so hard to come home. Its also why god can sometimes turn female in the field. The problem is not the people that serve, it is the people that make the decisions. Politicians and officers who serve corporate interests and are willing to send soldiers to their deaths for corporate profits and throw away those that survive and can't be used anymore.

I'm a 73 year old Vietnam Veteran, and I've seen this video many, many times. I've cried every time. Btw... This is an old video and the numbers they quoted are much higher now. For example, on average 22 veterans commit suicide every day., not the 12 as per the video. You're right... many people in the U.S. don't like veterans, and many hate us. I have been called "baby-killer" and a "war criminal:" in the last year. I used to think that the hate would end after a while. Now I know that it won't end until all the Vietnam Vets are gone. Our war will finally be over when we take our last breath. It won't end while we're still alive. Thanks for doing this video, and thanks for how it affected you. Peace brother!

I'm a 3rd generation veteran (both grandfathers WWII, dad Vietnam (wife is Active Duty)) and this video always hits me hard. I just recently started working at the VA hospital near me (my 3rd as a patient, 1st as an employee) and I feel like I'm where I belong when I'm there. The overall vibe at this hospital is positive - it's the first job I've had in years where I don't dread going to work.

I'm a veteran myself I started with Operation desert Storm went through Bosnia Somalia and five tours in Iraq and enduring freedom and I struggle with PTSD everyday of my life and will struggle with it for the rest of my life the government itself has known the VA system has been broken since world war II and hasn't done anything to fix it because they don't care. The dod just released information that in 2018 that 851 American soldiers took their own lives because of PTSD guilt depression and everything else that goes with it I'm grateful the five finger death Punch for putting this video out there with all the information we lose 22 American heroes every day to PTSD depression and guilt because they self-terminate that is 22 too many. Fort Carson Colorado holds the Guinness book of world's record for the most soldiers accidentally killing a family member or friend due to being in combat mode and something you're right when you said the government failed us people are doing their best to try and help veterans but when the government's taxing them like it's hard for them to financially. The problem is the people have been come afraid of the government when it should be the government be afraid of the people.

@Strongdad, I have viewed a few of your reactions and they all have been well documented. As for this one, being a Vet myself is hard to watch. But I can relate in so many ways to the Vets portrayed in the video. I myself never experienced homelessness, my family was very supportive and waited for me to tell my story and even then was supportive and showed no judgement. But the reason I did not tell them right away is because I was scared of what there reaction would be. I was a 92Y which is a Supply Specialist, (which is a person who does all sorts of logistics.) There were two parts of the video that really got me, 1 - The part where the Vet is getting arrested and the officer sees that they have the same tat. That tat is they were in the same unit. 2 - the part at the end when the vet said to his friend, "You saved my life brother." See even though we have so many differences in the world, majority if us Vets that serve do not see color, religion, sex, all we see is a battle buddy. Now don't get me wrong, we do have some of the filth that is done on the civilian side, but it is less of it.

I am a Veteran or a Combat Veteran. I served in the Army as an 11 Bravo (infantry) from April 2001 to August 2005. I fought in Iraq from 2004-2005 right after the initial invasion, I did 14 months there. We were in Iraq during the birth of the insurgency there, so we were fighting in my generations Vietnam. Regular infantry is not trained to fight a counter insurgency, that is a job more for Special Forces. Every time I watch that video from Five Finger Death Punch it always brings a tear to my eyes. Not a lot of things effects me emotionally anymore since I had to do or live through a lot of things in Iraq that most people shouldn't have to do or see.

What is the worth of freedom when you cannot choose it. Compassion towards the ones that tried and failed should be more appreciated. It should be allowed to be lucky, but the USA seems to award the results rather than the effort. The power of luck is severly underrated in the US.

Government doesn’t care about anyone not donating millions of dollars to their personal account! I do however think the American people care far more for their soldiers than Australian people do. I was unfortunate enough to witness some horrid abuse of our service men & women on ANZAC Day, possibly our biggest day for military people. I was on holiday at the time & was looking around wondering why in a military city I couldn’t find anyone in uniform on this day of all days. Turns out because people spit on them! F@cking grubs! 🤬
My father was a Vietnam Veteran & that’s the sort of crap he came home to, I was devastated to think our soldiers are still dealing with this more than 40 years later.
