What a wonderful gift Hazel Stiles has left behind. I think this shows her gratitude, respect and admiration for life and she’s sharing this with those lucky enough to discover this. Thanks to you Drew and Bethany for keeping her message alive and bringing this to even more people that may never get a chance to experience this themselves.
Wow!! Lived in 29 Palms for 35 years. Explored that entire desert my entire life. Owned property literally not far from where you're at, and I never even heard of this until now. I wanna take a trip back just to see it in person now. Thanks for sharing!!
Well that has alot of Wisdom to it, Especially shutting the tv off and pray, or can be interrupted especially today, shut all electronic devices off and enjoy family and friends and the love that surrounds you. To me its brilliant!. Thanks Bethany and this is Drew!
We would love to do an episode a week! If/when the channel gets a larger following, we will be able to cut back on our full-time work and concentrate more on shooting more episodes. Glad you're enjoying it so much! Many thanks!
Your videos just get better, and better. You guys do such good research, and then the way you showed what most of it said. I'd give so many thumbs up if I could.
Thank you for sharing and showing us an amazing creation. I find it truly inspiring when one individual creates something so outstanding. Her rocks really did speak.
This one is so good I am sending it to my wife. Please talk to us about your recent quakes. We were in so. Cal when the Northridge Quake hit. Quite an adventure!
alright!!! good start to my Saturday..I was just thinking yesterday about you guys and WHEN you would upload another video..:D Appreciate the time and effort you put in for us..Thanks!!
I miss California so bad. I lived in Valencia and did auto glass and custom mirror in the late 80's . Met rock and movie stars, friendly people, beautiful girls like Bethany. Used to play my guitar at Vasquez Rocks all the time. Thanks Drew and Bethany.
Great video! Amazing that Hazel was able to do that all from the ground - must have taken her a long time. Wonder if she had a large step ladder or something!
You might want to consider submitting this to one of the morning talk shows on Broadcast TV as a human interest piece. This is fascinating content and this is the only venue it is able to be presenting on currently. More exposure brings more money and enables you to bring more content like this.
This is a surprise! In 1984, we lived less than a mile west-south-west of this point. We must have walked past this place many, many times following the drainage trace, but never saw it!
HI Matthew. The earthquakes were about 120 miles north of LA. We definitely felt them, but no damage in our area. Thanks for your concern and we're glad you enjoyed the episode!
I’m loving your channel which i only discovered a couple of days ago. You do awesome work this one especially is very cool. I like your work so much I just joined your Patreon.
Another great video!! Had no idea this existed so thank you guys for sharing! Hopefully people don't go disturb it! I was hoping to see inside her abandoned home, if it still stands. Maybe if you guys have footage, and can make a quick vid? :) And if Bethany goes missing we'll know where to look, lol.
Thank you both for another insightful video. I have enjoyed a few trips around the area but, like most everyone else, wasn't aware of Hazel or her work. I was able to find it on Google Earth and it wasn't all that easy. Hopefully it will remain undamaged.
A new video I clicked so fast. Hope you two are ok after the earthquakes. Not sure where you two are in relation to the quakes. Sending good vibes to you both. Edit: after watching it wowowowow that's amazing. Hazel was some woman. Wanting peace and time away from tv. Insightful lady.
Just found this channel and I love it. You guys should check out the Rice Shoe Fence as well as the nearby abandoned WWII airfield (no airplanes though).
That was some Indiana-Jones-deciphering action going on there! Enjoyable video as always, and this one actually felt like I was watching a History Channel documentary with the pace, editing and music. I've never heard of this place before, great desert mystery! Random question: When are you two going International??? Canada, maybe? Safe travels, My Friends!
ITD BE WONDERFUL IF SOMEBODY WHO VISITS WOULD TALKE A FEW BAGS OF CEMENT & MARK EACH CORNER WITH METAL POLES EMBEDDED A FOOT DOWN INTI THE CONCRETE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I WONDER HOW MANY HOURS IT TOOK HER ; IT MUSTVE TAKEN YEARS! I THINK THIS IS ONE OF MOST AMAXING PIECES OF ART IVE EVER SEEN... ITS ASTOUNDING AND BEAUTIFUL!!
Truly interesting videos! I like how you show unusual and sometimes unknown sites for exploration. I wish I had the opportunity to explore like you all do. I am assuming Hazel's rocks are held together with concrete? Nonetheless, great work.
Great video, as always! But, it'd be even better if we knew what all it said; after all, she went to quite a bit of trouble to write it. It looks like a very positive message and probably very good advice about life that she wanted to be left for generations to come.
The lower section the rock garden is a representation of an opened bible passage. If you can match the size and shape to the pages in the Bible it will narrow done to passages that are one and one half pages. Considering her age and background I would recommend trying to match to the Kings James version. Bethany ask how she keep track of everything. She keep track of everything in the lower section because she had the Bible as her guide and she just copied it on the ground. Just my 2 cents, love your videos.
Near there,,, down gold crown road on the other side of 62,,, to the gold crow mine site, across the road from that up the little road going left at the fork and follow that road a short distance further to where it ends at a couple small mine tunnels you will find more desert-lines... art work someone did covering a good sized area.... Ive been trying to figure out who did those for 30 years.... never knew about hazels work and its only a few miles away.... there were natives that had a history of doing stuff like this over by the river.. they got displaced and some ended up in 29 palms joining natives there... merging together. And there is another place a bit away that also has some history of manipulating surface rocks in this way.... point being hazel may have become aware of some of this or similar and been inspired to continue and old tradition....
The 5 acre plots out there were a government give away to WW2 Veterans. There was a lottery if you were interested in a plot. My Father won one, but there was a condition that you build a minimum standard dwelling on your site within a given time. My father didn't build the shack, and the plot went to someone else. That is the reason why all those plots hve nearly identical shacks.
Fascinating and mysterious spot. Hopefully, it will be deciphered and preserved. On your way to Hazel's masterpiece you passed fairly close to Bev Doolittle's strange and exotic 'house' on the outskirts of Joshua Tree (the town, not the park). Perhaps you could visit it someday as an Oddity Odysseys adventure. PS--Bethany, just like you I love (some aspects of) Canada: Canada Geese, Canadian Bacon and Montreal Steak Seasoning. But, unlike you, I don't have a shirt that proclaims my affection for our neighbor to the north. ;^)
Of course it's Calif. I'm just having a bit of good-natured fun with Bethany. (You did see the smile and wink at the end of my comment.) Also, sometimes when she's wearing an "I heart LA" shirt, (Los Angeles) I tease her about Louisiana, also abbreviated LA.
Can you guys check out the Houdini mansion in Hollywood. I went there after a rock concert for a band I worked for. At the time it was a "crash" place for struggling musicians. Don't know the condition of it.
I wonder if the extra space in the small print section was because she didn't end up needing the whole area she marked off or if it was because she wasn't finished writing. Considering you can't read it anyway I guess it doesn't matter now.

OMG that is SO cool! I go to Wonder Valley all the time, and I never knew about that...great video! RIP Hazel
Thank you so much! Save adventures and travels, friend. :)
Well that has alot of Wisdom to it, Especially shutting the tv off and pray, or can be interrupted especially today, shut all electronic devices off and enjoy family and friends and the love that surrounds you. To me its brilliant!. Thanks Bethany and this is Drew!
The look on Beth's face.. "Bury things, like you" another awesome video, love your shows and what you do (and you two together)
Gotta love quick sarcastic wit, charm and love like that, brought a chuckle & tear to me.
I feel like I say this every episode I watch but, this is one of the best episodes. It feels like we all discovered a hidden code with you.
Hazel's message is a gift of guidance. Amazing!!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, this one is totally epic. Have a great day and keep on exploring.
Yes another video of you guys, keep it up. I almost wish it was a video a week lol one can hope.
Keep up the great work
More frequent, you guys are my favorite. longer episodes would really be cool.
We would love to do an episode a week! If/when the channel gets a larger following, we will be able to cut back on our full-time work and concentrate more on shooting more episodes. Glad you're enjoying it so much! Many thanks!
@@OddityOdysseys I wish I could help get a following for you. I'll start passing it on, ask my friends to help
Another fascinating adventure. Thank you for sharing.
This is so incredible! Thank you guys for sharing!!
I learn something new every time you guys post a video. Thanks
So beautiful, thank you Hazel for the message and thank you guys for sharing, appreciate you. God Bless.
Your videos just get better, and better. You guys do such good research, and then the way you showed what most of it said. I'd give so many thumbs up if I could.
So cool! I've lived in Joshua Tree since 2004 and never knew this existed in Wonder Valley. Thanks for sharing it!
Thank God you did this! Her readable message is enough and a great reminder.
Your videos keep getting better and better! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing and showing us an amazing creation. I find it truly inspiring when one individual creates something so outstanding. Her rocks really did speak.
Great one! Loved it.. thanks
It is impressive she was able to lay it out so well without having the overhead perspective.
I ran across this one day while out exploring and have always wondered about it. Thank you for solving the mystery for me !
That's awesome you were able to come across it - thanks for checking out the episode!
This one is so good I am sending it to my wife.
Please talk to us about your recent quakes.
We were in so. Cal when the Northridge Quake hit. Quite an adventure!
Where have you guys been?!?! Missed you guys! So happy to watch another video 😊

What a great episode. Another home run! Thanks for doing what you're doing. I really enjoy your work. (I knew to look from the email notice)
Fascinating. Thank you...... BTW I'm from East Yorkshire England...

Thank you so much!
facinating! never heard of this before!
"It's a good place to bury something"
"You?"
- Cold blooded Drew, so time for match point Bethany
This is a surprise! In 1984, we lived less than a mile west-south-west of this point. We must have walked past this place many, many times following the drainage trace, but never saw it!
I believe it! We drove right past it (within 20 feet) and still didn't see it the first time around. It's definitely best appreciated from high above.
this chanel deserves more subs and views
Great video. That is quite a monument to Hazel's vision.
Hey, how are you two doing with the recent earthquakes?
HI Matthew. The earthquakes were about 120 miles north of LA. We definitely felt them, but no damage in our area. Thanks for your concern and we're glad you enjoyed the episode!
@@OddityOdysseys you ought to go up to that valley and look at the cracks that former. The offset roads!
What a cool find. Thank you for s great vlog once again.
I enjoyed the suspense while the drone was up. And good eye Bethany! Awesome video!
Very nicely done!
Both of you are fantastic,
this generation’s Huell Howser!
Oh how I loved Huell Howser!! He was so awesome! That's a great compliment! And well deserved..Couldn't agree more!
Now if we could get these two to show Huell's very enthusiastic and wow then, but they are awesome in the same.
Nobody could match Huell Howser's awesomeness and enthusiasm. It's always a great complement when folks compare our show to his. Many thanks!
I ❤️ CA.
I also ❤️ Bethany.
You guys have some really good content. 👍👍
Wow, this is so cool! Hazel was an incredibly patient women I'd say.
im old and crippled love you guys

Pavel, I can't find it on maps, you have the coordinats or streetname nearby!?
I love your videos and the way they're presented! Really cool to see you meet Adam The Woo recently!

How do you light up the letters and do your map animation. I'd love to see tutorials on this stuff. Great video

Flir camera on a drone just after the sun comes up will dgive good contrast between the cold rocks and the warm sand.

I was thinking the same, and it wasn't completed.
Dig the hair bro, I was wondering if you played rock 'n' roll too maybe a metal band ? Bethany ,lovely and cool as always. Peace

Noah Count actually I think is
“I love Ca”lifornia . Which makes more sense since they are from the Los Angeles area . Pretty sure it’s for California

The messages are similar to that of Salvation Mountain.
maybe using a black and white photo filter or negative would help bring out the words?
Good video, guess another way of tagging the desert ? It is after all California............thumbs up.......
Can we have the coordinates ? Or streets.
You guys are awesome, top notch pros. Can you ham it up? Argue just a little? Trip over something? You vids are show quality, love it!
Check out our outtakes videos to see all of the above haha... Thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)
